Is there a way to disable "Reminders" from being pushed from CalDav accounts, but keep calenders? Or is this just all from push notifications?

On all iOS devices we have CalDav accounts setup to sync calenders from our server.  However, you also get those accounts in the "Reminders" app.  Is there a way to remove on the reminders portion, but leave the calenders?
Thanks!

Hi Everyone,
To give an update on the situation: I disabled the Yahoo account and it seems to make a VERY NOTICEABLE difference in battery life - prior to this my battery would drain quite rapidly but since disabling it it's only lost about 15-20% over the past 24 hours (and thats with using the video/music/internet functions for about an hour and a half).. Prior to this it would have been close to drained under the same circumstances.
Also, to confirm, the "Your last transaction cost 0.00" messages only appear when accessing the internet manually now. before they appeared every 10-15 minutes with no interaction from myself at all (while it was sitting idle, while watching videos, while charging, while in my pocket, etc..)
I do have it set to only check Manually but Yahoo would seem to check on it's own even though this setting is checked (I'm guessing it has to do with the Push setting). Aside from draining the battery, it was quite annoying having 30 or so "Your transaction cost $0.00" messages to click through whenever I turned on the phone.
I did have the screen set to shut off after 1 min, but the 'your transaction cost..' messages would first wake the iphone up, the screen would stay bright for about 30 seconds, dim for about 30 seconds, then turn on bright again for 1 minute until it shut off. I'm guessing the screen (being on for about 10-15 minutes per hour due to this) and the fact that yahoo accesses the internet on such a frequent basis are what cut the battery life down.
I really wish I could make Yahoo work more like Gmail and have it manually search for new mail

    I want to remove my credit card from my daughter's itunes account but i can't delete the information without getting a notification that i must have the fields filled out. When she first got the ipod touch, we did not need to supply credit card information for her to set up her account. Only now that I entered it for one purchase, I can't remove it. Now my daughter has purchased over $300 in downloads the last two weeks.

    You definitely can.
    To remove your payment information open iTunes and go into your account. An easy way to access your account is from quick links on the store home page. After you login there will be a payment type listed with an edit button next to it. Click edit then select none under card type (next to visa, mastercard, etc).
    Afterwards at the bottom of the page select done, then your card will no longer be on file. It will prompt you for a card next time you try to download something that isn't free.

    Hi,
    Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your original Audio Driver ( ie Conexant, IDT etc ) - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.

  • Auto correct is making me look like an idiot. I have to go back and psychically spell check my documents now. Is there any way to disable it?

    Auto correct on my desktop Mac is making me look like an idiot. After I type it's changing words into other words I never typed and it even pushes words together that I'd typed a space in between in order to create new words that I never typed which make absolutley no sense.
    Now after I type a document I have to go back and psychically spell check my entire document the old fashioned way to make sure auto-correct isn't making me look like a clown who can't spell.
    Is there any way to disable "auto correct" on the desktop MAC and still keep spell check running?
    The amount of messages I've sent out with horribly misspselled words or errrors as a result  is maddening.
    HELP!!!
    Running OSX 10.9.1

    I had turned off auto-correct in the keyboard preferences, but in Mail all my spelling and grammer choices were grayed out.  The key for me — as Kingoftypos points out — was "For Mail, open a new message/reply/forward. Then go to the Edit menu and scroll down to the Spelling/Grammar."
    It would never have occurred to me to open a new message to be able to change the settings.
    Thanks, King

  • Is there a way to disable previously viewed iMessages from appearing as Messages notifications when waking my MacBook Pro from sleep?

    Is there a way to disable previously viewed iMessages from appearing as Messages notifications when waking my MacBook Pro from sleep?  Regardless of whether I am using iMessage from  my iPhone or iPad, when I open my MBP, I get attacked by Messages notifications for iMessages I've obviously already seen or responded to.  Is there a way to change this?  Are others having this issue?
    Additionally,  previous iMessages sent or received from those  devices sometimes don't populate into the Messages window on the MBP.  I haven't been able to identify when or what causes this; sometimes it just doesn't seem to work (and I verified that the messages sent/received were, in fact, iMessages and not SMS).
    Thanks - any help or insight would be appreciated!

    First you need to determine what laptop model you have; then we can help you. A Mac Book Pro cannot run OS 9.1.
    With your Mac booted up, click on the  at the far left of the menu. Then click on About This Mac. It will show what version of OS  you are running. What is the version?
    A MBP will be running something like version 10.x.
    If you are running version OS 9.x, you don't have a Mac Book Pro.

  • Is there a way to disable push mail from Yahoo? It's draining my battery

    I'm on the prepaid plan and every 10-15 minutes my iphone turns on with a "The last transaction cost $0.00" message. I don't mind the message (although it is a bit annoying) but my problem is that this turns the LCD on for about 2 minutes at a time.
    I charged my battery to 100% last night, haven't used it at all today and after just turning it on a few minutes ago I had the "Your battery life is at 10%" message followed by a 5% remaining message a few minutes later.
    I've heard that it's the yahoo push mail service thats causing the phone to give the message (since it connects to the internet). My Yahoo account is my main one and I'd hate to have to login to yahoo's site each time to check it (the email functionality was a big selling point for me with the iphone). ATT/Apple don't seem to want to disable this message/"Feature", so I'm guessing I would need to step in and do something on my end.

  • HT5019 Is there a way to disable the toolbar from preventing windows being dragged to external monitors configured above it?

    My preferred display arrangement is to have 2 external monitors (extended display) above my macbook pro screen.  While it is possible to configure this in my display preferences, the toolbar on my desktop prevents me from dragging anything to the external monitors.  Is there a way to disable whatever the toolbar is doing to cause this?

    I have exactly the same concern. It seems it would be a simple fix for Apple to allow users to turn off the camera (and even the mic) while keeping FaceTime open -- especially now that it turns out FaceTime must remain open in order to send and receive iPhone calls on a Mac.
    I like to think this new functionality of FaceTime will be baked into a future release of Yosemite, as the current setup has that not-quite-finished feel of a work in progress. In the meantime, there's nothing like a little piece of Post-It stuck over the camera to keep the NSA from watching your face as you type a post to the Apple Support Communities.

    hello everyone I've just switched from chrome to ff and I'm very satisfied. Just one problem, is there a way to disable tab font smoothing (maybe with userchrome.css)? I've changed the colour of tab font (with userchrome.css) to white to improve readability but with white text is too bold. thanks !!

    hey thanks for the quick reply. here's a screenshot
    http://www.mediafire.com/view/?c2a2l69ci5zbq#bt6qrwr6ku8m5n6
    i think we just have to add some antialiasing in the userchrome.css? but i don't know the code.
    here's my modified userchrome.css
    /* Inactive Tab */
    tab:not([selected="true"]) {
    color:white !important;}
    /* Tab while loading */
    tab[busy] {
    color: blue !important;}
    tab .tab-text {
    font-size: 12px !important;
    /* tab font */
    tab .tab-text {
    font-family:Verdana !important;
    i read somewhere else the problem is more evident with white text on dark background
    thanks

  • Question:-Is there any way to disable the installation location/folder of da Adobe AIR Application?

    Is there any way to disable the installation location/folder of the Adobe AIR Application or can we skip that part automatically?

    xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"  is the spark mx address, which is completely different than the original 2006 mx library.
    The thing is:  I love AIR, hate spark, loved the 2006 pre-spark functionality.  It is so much more convenient and user friendly.  Given the choice between having the display seperate from the  processing, or having it be convenient and easy  to work with, I choose the later option.
    For the most part it seems like the AIR api is like a layer on top of the spark - flex system..   I would like to be able to over lay the same AIR functionality on top of the the old system....
    Possible or no?

  • AppStore asking to sign in every time I log in to my local account. Is there a way to disable this?

    I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion on my MacBook Pro and I noticed that every time I log in to my local account it wants me to authenticate with the AppStore. I have a few apps that I purchased in Snow Leopard, but this is very annoying. Is there a way to disable this prompt or have it saved to my keychain?
    I am currently running 10.7.1 with all the latest updates.
    Thanks!

    Go to the Store menu and Check for Available Downloads...?
    I used to get prompted when there was something waiting or unfinished.

    Did you transfer the telephone number from the old phone to the new phone?  If you did, I don't see how you could still have cellular service, even if you turned it off in settings.

  • Is there a way to disable OIM entity adapters while doing batch upload ?

    Hi experts,
    I have an adpater to generate UserID from a sequence based on user-type for creation of OIM users thru web UI.
    I have attached this to Users form in data object manager.
    We also have a 3-step batch bulk procedure from CSV file which checks data enterd, generates pword email etc etc and builds CSV file with records to be inserted.
    In the 3rd step, scheduled task runs with CSV file as input and creates users in OIM DB.
    The problem is the entity adapters are also getting triggerd which generate another UserID for each user created.
    This leads to loss in sequence numbers.
    Is there any way of disabling this ?? We need to have both in place, but this conflict should not arise ..
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Chetan

    Even if i check the value of that UDF and execute the code to generate UserID based on that value,the function still has to return a value right ??Attach entity adapter at Post Insert.
    Create UDF with Default value "CSV".
    Add one more parameter in your java class which is responsible for generating userid.
    You can directly map UDF with Class Parameter.
    if (UDF == CSV){
    Don't Generate
    else {
    Generate with your logic
    And if that function is getting called for every user record in the CSV file, then i cant return a dummy value for it as well .You can use update User API of tcUserOperations

    We believe my sons iPod touch 4th gen was stolen. Is there a way to disable it?

    There is no way to prevent anyone from using the iPod.  All one has to do is place the iPod in recovery mode and restore via iTunes.
    Apple will not do anything.
    You may be able to wipe as discussed above. (go to icloud.com, log in and go to FingMyiPhone)
