Changing Admin Console Context path in WL10.3.5
Hi
My client wanted to change the Weblogic Admin Console Context path(from /console ) to something else. Are there any known risks of doing so?, like what happens to this change when you want to upgrade your weblogic in the future.?
I am newbie to weblogic, appreciate your suggestion this regard. Given below is my environment
WL 10.3.5 running in Linux 64Bit
Thanks
Balaji

The console context path is an attribute on the Domain MBean, and is persisted in config.xml. There should be no issues during upgrade, and the chosen console context path should be preserved.

Changing the default Admin Console URL
Hi,
I have installed the Weblogic 9.1 development version sever on Fedora.
I want to change the default URL http://localhost:7001/ of the administration console but am unable to do so.
Can someone help me with this problem?
Thanks
ChanderChander,
The URL to your console is http://localhost:7001/console. If you want to change "console" to something else, you can easily do that.
In the console, click on the domain name (the first node) under Domain Structure. On the right hand side, expand the Advanced link. You'll then see the Console Context Path field where you can change "console" to anything you'd like.
For example, you could have http://localhost:7001/myconsole.

Embedded weblogic admin console will not start
Hi Forum members,
I'm using JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.0.2 and trying to start the WebLogic admin console for
JDeveloper's embedded WebLogic Server.
The admin login screen appears, but after entering userid and password, the admin console crashes.
The log entries are below; thanks for your assistance.

Hi everyone,
I have the following issue. After changing the context path, via felix console, I can not checkout the content via vlt. Before that, I could checkout without any problems.
I am using CQ5.5, CRX2.3, context path: /Test
That is what I am trying:
vlt -v --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/server/crx.default
Connecting via JCR remoting to http://localhost:23310/Test/server
[WARN ] Authentication required to access repository descriptors
[ERROR] checkout: com.day.jcr.vault.vlt.VltException: Unable to mount filesystem
caused by: javax.jcr.ItemNotFoundException: Not Found
caused by: org.apache.jackrabbit.webdav.DavException: Not Found
Other versions I tried:
vlt -v --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/crx
vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/server
vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test
vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/crx
To verify if I could connect to the instance properly I started CRXDE
and try to connect to "http://localhost:23310/Test"
After click the ok button I got that error:

Images change position and dimension after client edits on admin console!
Hi,
1. After my client uploaded his images onto the site using the admin console they changed position slightly and did not fit exactually into the image frames i had set when i first made the site.
2. When i opened the site on muse and merged changes the images positions and dimensions changed even more than what was being diplayed on the live site? (E.g I originally had two columns of square thumbnails for some slideshows and now i have a single column of rectangle images)
3. I republished to see what would happen it now displays the way it was diplaying in Muse. The site is: www.jacobbuckland.co.uk
My understanding was that when i create an image frame or gallery in muse that any image uploaded via the admin console should fill that frame no matter what the size or dimensions of that image?
Any help gratfully received. ThanksOur technical team managed to find the immediate cause for the problem, and a solution.
According to them there was a corruption on a speciffic OLAP file. By deleting it, they allowed it to be recreated on the next application processing. The file in question was found in \Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\OLAP\Data\UGF.0.db\<APPLICATION>.38.cub.xml
Where <APPLICATION> is the name of the problematic cube.
After that everything is working. -
Making a configuration change without using admin console
I am using the Platform Edition of App Server 7 so I don't have access to the web-based admin console.
I need to make a configuration change and the only directions I have are for the admin console.
Can anybody give me some pointers on what file to edit to acomplish the procedure below?
8. Log in to the Sun ONE Application Server administration console.
9. Select the application server Instance on which you installed the Identity Server.
10. Click JVM Settings and then JVM Options.
11. In the JVM Option field, enter the following string: -Dhttp.keepAlive=false
12. Click Add and then Save.I think I've found it...
The file is server.xml and it is located at:
/var/opt/SUNWappserver7/domains/domain1/server1/config
There is a section under <java-config> with about 14 lines containing various <jvm-options>
I'll try adding this directive to the end of the <jvm-options> as follows:
<jvm-options>-Dhttp.keepAlive=false</jvm-options> -
Activate changes in weblogic admin console
I configured a WLI 9.2 server with the wizard, It worked fine. For info I configured a cluster with one member server.
But I had other configuration to set up with the admin console. Like adding data sources, mail sessions and deploying application. All those instance are deployed on the server in the cluster. But every time I try to activate one of those changes I get the following error:
- Error An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
- Error [Management:141191]The prepare phase of the configuration update failed with an exception:
- Error Attempt to access DescriptorBean for a custom module before postStart
The only solution I found is to copy the config file(s) located in the domain_root/pending folder to the domain_root/config folder and restart the server. But I still need to fix that problem.yes....if you are using only hibernate3.jar and no other jars from hibernate then you need this jars for hibernate to work.
antlr-2.7.6rc1.jar
asm.jar
asm-attrs.jar
cglib-2.1.3.jar
commons-collections-2.1.1.jar
commons-logging-1.0.4.jar
dom4j-1.6.1.jar
ehcache-1.1.jar
hibernate3.jar
jaas.jar
jaxen-1.1-beta-7.jar
jdbc2_0-stdext.jar
jta.jar
log4j-1.2.11.jar
ojdbc14.jar
xerces-2.6.2.jar
xml-apis.jar
if you are missing any of those, hibernate won't work.
You can check in MyEclipse which jars hibernate needs to run successfully. Just go under Window/Preferences, and there go under MyEclipse/Project Capabilities/Hibernate and select tab Hibernate 3.1 and under Library modules select Hibernate 3.1 Core Libraries, and you will see which jars hibernate need. ;) -

I'm not sure where to look to resolve this issue. Any ideas appreciated. It seems like you did not update the trust store of your AdminServer. It acts as a ssl client of your managed server and cannot verify its identity certificate.

Changing config-prop temp-path for admin server
I'm trying to change temp_path for the admin-server from /tmp/admin-server-* to /var/run/admin-server-*, like this:
temp_path=`wadm get-config-prop --user=admin --password-file=/etc/wadm.pwd --config=admin-server temp-path`
new_temp_path=`echo $temp_path | sed 's|/tmp/|/var/run/|'`
if [ $temp_path != $new_temp_path ]; then
wadm set-config-prop --user=admin --password-file=/etc/wadm.pwd --config=admin-server temp-path=$new_temp_path
$inst_dir/admin-server/bin/stopserv
$inst_dir/admin-server/bin/startserv
fiBut I end up with a problem. Eigther set-config-prop will fail because the admin server is not running. Or the stopserv will fail because the pid file is not located where the new config states, so it end's up not stopping anything and I have to manually kill the admin server.
Is there a supportet way of changing temp-path of the admin-server, that does not involve having to manually kill the admin-server?
Best regards,
Bjørn Røgeberghi
i am not sure, if you tried this already. but this is some thing you can try
wadm set-config-prop user=admin config=<hostname> temp-path=¨some location accessible by web server runtime user say webservd or UNIX user id¨
wadm deploy-config --user=admin <hostname>
now if you restart the server instance, it should use the new temporary path.
hope this helps -
GMS Admin console: Changes made by user not being saved
Hi,
with GMS 2.0.1 and groupwise for auth and provisioning, users can log in to the gms admin console with gw credentials just fine. but if the user tries to save changes in the groupwise settings, changes won't be applied.
Code:
"An Error has occurred!"
what's weird is the fact that changes will be saved under device settings.
i assume this must be a rights issue in the groupwise connector.
what has to be done to get this working again. users need to be able to adjust their settings by themselves.

Changing user profile attributes via the admin console
Hi all,
I created my own login module (like the existing Membership module) which
extends the Login class. It works just fine, and can create user profiles
and allow people to log in. When I log into the admin console and try to
bring up the user profile to edit the attributes for this module [Manage
Domains->(domain)->(role)->Users->(user)->Authentication(authentication
module)] it displays an error stating 'This profile contains no data which
can be administered.' It also does this when I create a user via the admin
console. I know the profile exists (the user can log in, and doing a
'ipsadmin get user (user)' produces the profile). In the login module XML,
all the necessary attributes are set as "userConfigurable=TRUE" with the
right privileges. Looking at the Membership module as a template, I saw it
puts a configuration file in the '/opt/SUNWips/locale' directory which is
used apparently for editing the profiles created by this module. I made a
similar one for my module, but the same error occurs. Does anyone know what
I am failing to do?
Thanks,
MarkHi,
After creating your own Authentication module You have to import your "iwtAuth[NewModule].xml" to the profile server.
You can find a sample file for Membership module
" iwtAuthMembership.xml" at "/etc/opt/SUNWips/xml".
Modify "iwtAuthMembership " in the above xml file with "iwtAuth[NewModule] "and import the
"iwtAuth[NewModule] .xml" using
# ipsadmin -import iwtAuthNewLogin.xml
and restart the server. -

Can't access to Portal Admin Console.
Hi all,
I'm working with WLP 10.2. I've created the ear-file (using maven) and deployed it on server (with Unix-system). The current application works well.
My current task is a creation portal in streaming mode. Unfortunately I can't access to Portal Admin console for resolving task. I always retrieve "Error 404 (Not found)".
As I know the admin-tools.war is responsible for Portal Admin Console. I've checked admin-tools.war is running on server (with status "Active").
I'm using the next path for running Portal Admin Console: {serverhost:port}/{context root of admin-tools}/portal.portal.
Maybe, Should I set up(correct) application.xml or weblogic.xml?
Please let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks,
YuriyI think your URL is wrong, try with the following...
http://{server:port}/{name_your_ear}Admin/portal.portal
name_your_ear= The name of your Enterprise Application.
For example,
http://localhost:7001/DemosEarAdmin/portal.portal
I hope this helps -

<Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000365> <Server state changed to FAILED>Hi,
*1)In order to export the user data on to the server,do we have to create a specific directory to save this data into the server.*
Yes ....you can give any Existing Directory Path in the AdminConsole Export Page.... Any Directory in your File System.
*2)Is there any other way by not exporting or importing the data?*
That is the only way to prevent the Data Loss....There are some other ways to do it without using Admin Console like Using WLST or Using JMX you can export the Data but all these techniques will exactly do the same thing ... The AdminConsole is the easiest way to do it.
Thanks

Any ideas?Hi,
Another way to "find" the URL for the oamconsole, that I use if I'm not familiar with the configuration I'm working on is to first log into the Adminserver WL Console, then go to "Deployments".
Then, find "oamconsole" in the Deployments listed (on the right).
Click on that, then on the next page, look for the "Testing" tab. Click on the "Testing" tab, which which show the /oamconsole app.
Click on the "+" to expand the tree, and you should see a bunch of different URLs on the right, e.g., if you have OAM console deployed to managed servers, etc., there'll be different URLs for those, etc., and you can just click on the links to open up OAM Console in your browser.
