Changing between process version 2012 to 2010 in LR4

I know that the sharpening and noise reduction was improved for the 2010 process version. Were they improved more for the 2012 version? I would love to swich back to 2010 but I just want to make sure I don't loose the better quality of the sharpening and noise reduction. Thank you for any insight!!

But to answer your question more specifically:
* Clarity was improved in PV2012, but sharpening and NR are same as PV2010.

Update Process Version Dialog Box (2010 Process)

How do I get this box back (it seems to have disappeared) only allowing me to update one photo at a time? I also tried copying the development setting by applying only the process setting check box (for an updated photo) but that doesn't seem to work either.

Go to Preferences, in the General tab, and click on "reset all warnings". That should make the Update Process Version dialog appear again.
You can also select all your images in Library grid and go to the Photo menu, choose "Develop Settings" then "Update to Current Process (2010)" to update multiple images at once.

How do I change the 'process' from 2012 (current) to 2010 in Camera Raw and save it as my default?

I have tried several times to change my default back to 2010 but every time I import a new batch it reverts back to 2012 (current).
I have tried 'reset camera raw defaults' and 'save as new camera raw defaults'.
Any help would be fab thanks

Thanks Yammer - that was exactly what I was trying to do, but it doesn't save it - each time I bring in a new batch or a new image I have to do it again on each image

Basic settings not sticky when changing the process version

Yes, I understand that process 2010 will not use the same basic settings as 2012 as they have different adjustments but, If I make adjustments in 2012 and then try and see what 2010 would do and then go back to 2012 the adjustments I previously made in 2012 are zeroed out? I guess I'd like to be be able to see a compairson between the two processes so I can understand the differences between 2010 and 2012.

Make a virtual copy....develop one using PV2010, the other using PV2012.

Process Version 2012 for photos taken with Olympus OMD EM5

I have just purchased an Olympus OMD EM5. When I download images to Lightroom (v4.4) I have to manually convert to Process 2012. Am I doing something wrong? Why does this not happen automatically?

I can't tell you why it is doing that. Are you applying a preset on import that includes the older PV? Just a suggestion; you could create a preset that applies to the 2012 PV when images are imported.
Pardon my ignorance, but does that camera shoot DNG natively? If it does, I wonder if it is using an older spec. Don't know anything at all about this, just wondering.

Color change between Illustrator versions

When I'm opening an Illustrator cs file for a while back in Illustrator cs5, the colors change. When I try to open the cs file (eps) in Photoshop cs5, the colors change too. What setting am I missing? The document color mode is set on cmyk. Is it something inside of color settings? Thank you

Ok... let me be more specific, sorry for the confusion. Here is exactly what's going on...
Another designer is working in Illustrator CS and has created a logo that they provide to me in ai, eps, jpg, tif, png and gif. The jpg, tif, png and gif have been output from the eps file by opening the eps file in Photoshop and saving in the desired format. All these files have the same color.
The issue is when I receive them and I want to either simply open the ai or eps in Illustrator CS5 (or CS3), or open the eps in Photoshop CS5 (or CS3) so I can save a big high res jpg for example, the color are lighter and not the same as the jpg provided from them. So I'm unable to create any files (jpg, gif, tif...) from the eps to match what was created before. Does that make sense?
I have established that the other designer uses Illustrator CS and CMYK is selected for the 'document color mode' in Illustrator. When I work in Illustrator CS5 CMYK is also selected.
When I have opened other eps files from the same Illustrator version, and looked at the files that were output from them, the colors are all the same, but in this case it is not. I'm wondering if I'm missing a setting somewhere or if this will always happen if you open an Illustrator CS eps inside Illustrator CS5.

Wants to change BPEL Process Version Number while compiling

When I build the process via Jdeveloper, It creates the jar file with the name of *BPELProcess11 v201109_17__42581.jar* .But my requirement is each and everytime I compile the process Its name should be like this BPELProcess11_v1.jar. I have changed the build.properties file but still unable to find the solution even change the *.jar file.

I doubt if this is possible, Still Gurus can confirm this.
Right click on your project > Project Properties > Deployment
Deployment Profiles > <project-name>(SOA-SAR File) > click EDIT > General.
This is where your .jar file name gets created, I doubt if this can be modified, or if there is a way to edit this.

Changing Process Version adds +/- icon

Something I found really annoying when upgrading to LR3.
I asked LR 3 to update the process version to 2010 for all pictures. It worked. However, all my pictures are now being considered has having being modified, thus having the little +/- icon on the thumbnail.
I was using this "visual help" in order to know which images were post-processed, and which are not. Now, all are considered as being modified, even if changing the process version did not in fact add any post treatment.

The default values of all of the development parameters get applied when you import an image - they all have a value/setting. No badge is displayed when the defaults (whatever you've decided you like as defaults) are applied.
However, change one of them and the badge comes on. That's what you're doing when you change the process version.

How do I get read of before (or after) process version i Develop module?

Going through my photos in the develop mode, I am given the opportunity to upgrade to process version 2012. As I want to decide pictures individually before updating, I check the box Review Changes Before/After before I click Update. Sometimes I want to keep the old profile, sometimes I prefer the 2012 version. Either way, I use the bottom left arrows to copy the changes one way or the other. But whenever I get back to that photo i Develop mode, it will keep appearing side by side. I thought it would be possible to keep only my updated changes, and make it the only one to appear in my Develop window?

Fine (although I was aware of those things above)! So the procedure should be
1) Open a picture in Develop Mode
2) Click the exclaimation mark (if there is any)
3) Click "Update"
4) Copy the new settings/version to the old one (or vice versa), and - back to my original question -
5) Click "Y" to decide that the preferred version will be the one that appears (on top) the next time I open this picture?
Am I getting it? So far, I've only just found Julieanne Kosts video on this, but if someone out there could point me to a more detailed step-by-step tutorial, I'd appreciated it, as this seems to be a rather important issue in LR4:

Excel activex call changes between Office 2000 and Office XP. How does one manage that?

I have several Active X calls from within a VI. One in particular is
the Excel Cell Value property node in Office 2000. MS has decided to
call it Excel Cell Value2 in Office XP.
I have built and exe on a machine with Office 2000 and can run the code
on a machine with Office XP, but I can not build on the machine with
Office XP. I can also run a VI with that call
on the Office XP box, but if I mass compile the VI I get the broken arrow.
I guess I am confuesed as to why it can run but not compile. If the
ActiveX call is not there for the compile why is it there for the run?
If I can expect this does it work in reverse where I
build on an Office XP box and run on a Office 2000 box?

These problems you are experiencing do stem from the ActiveX changes between Excel versions. When you mass compile LabVIEW checks to see if everything is linked correctly, including ActiveX portions of your code. Since there are slight changes the LabVIEW compiler detects something is wrong, but cannot isolate the problem. You might need to force a recompile of that VI. Check out this link.

Differences between Automator versions

Hello All,
It looks like they made some changes between Automator version 2.1.1 (os x 10.6.8) and version 2.2 (OS X 10.7).
I'm trying to do a simple SMB mount of some network drive shares.
Steps followed are the same with both versions.
On the 10.7 computer when I reopen the workflow it is blank, none of the steps I've added showup. If I close Automator down and right click on the workflow file and use the Automator Runner application it follows all the steps that I layed out (drive shares map correctly).
In 10.6.8, if I create the same exact workflow, save it, close down, reopen the workflow all the step show up correctly and again map correctly when run.
How in 10.7 Automator do I view the steps that I've entered?

My automater workflow consists of "get specified Finder items" where I have to open the time capsule, then open the external drive to finally see the sparse image which I can then add and place in the item list. THen I add "open finder items" to open the sparse image. I have tried "reveal finder items" but that makes no difference.
I'm not sure how to mount the time capsule on the desktop. Do I just drag it there? It is listed on the left side of the Finder window under SHARED.
Here is a screen shot of what it looks like when I double click it. There you can see my time capsule (data) and the 3 external usb drives attached to my time capsule. By the way, I have the same problem if I attach just the mbp superduper backup to the TC directly.
In Automator I have to open the mbp superduper backup to get the ADD button functioning where I can select the actual sparse image file.
Even though I didn't copy the TC to the desktop,when I added the Connect to Server step I got an error message:
"there was a problem connecting to the server.
URLs with the type "file" are not supported"

Changes between MII 12.0.2 and 12.0.9 (patch 7)

Hi,
We've upgraded one of our non-production MII environments from MII 12.0.2 (build 88) to 12.0.9 (build 23), and some of our dashboard apps are not working correctly.
One issue that I've tracked down sounds similar to this post: [Re: java.io.EOFException]
But is different. We have a BLS that has a local property (called Hold_qty) that acts as an accumulator of a QUANTITY value that is returned in multiple rows from the associated SQL query.
Under 12.0.2, Hold_qty is defined with data type String. There is a repeater, with an assignment that assigns Local.Hold_qty the value of Local.Hold_qty + Order_table.Output(/Row/QUANTITY). This worked fine on 12.0.2, as the String would be converted to integer automatically (with value 0), then would accumulate the QUANTITY values.
Now in 12.0.9 it is no longer working and the Hold_qty value is NA after the repeater is done. It seems that MII is no longer converting the string type to integer before attempting the addition, thus the addition is attempted with Hold_qty having string NULL value, instead of integer Zero value. Because it is null, then MII calculates the result to NA. The MII manual does state that "Calculations that include null values return a value of NA".
My question, is why did the precedence of type conversion vs. property evaluation change between the versions? Is this change documented somewhere? I didn't have very good luck finding a list of changes in all of the versions between 12.0.2 and 12.0.9. Can someone point out where I can find such a list? I searched SAP notes and it seems that only some of the SPs between 2 and 9 have Notes but not all of them.
I changed the data type of Local.Hold_qty to Integer in the BLS and now it works correctly on 12.0.9, but I'm still curious as to why the change, as using Strings instead of integers and allowing the type conversion was a recommended approach in at least one post in the past: [Integer with Value of NA??]

Thank you very much for providing the list of notes - that is VERY helpful. I reviewed the list and did see a couple that seem to be related to the issue that we are seeing.
Specifically:
Note 1168706 which is included in SP04. But this fix seems to imply that what we were doing in SP02 should still work.
Note 1435052 which is SP09 patch 4, says:
"3- In a MII Transaction, if you have an XML Document with a field of type integer, and when you assign it to "nullnumber", it doesn't show up in the Data as "NA". But it displays a number eg. "-2147483648".
This isn't exactly what we are seeing, but seems very closely related, so perhaps the fix for this issue is what is causing our problem? Perhaps this fix introduced a new bug?
What is the proper means of reporting a potential bug? Should I wait for confirmation in this forum?

As a final suggestion, since your list of MII releases and the associated SAP Note numbers is so useful, would it be possible for you to create a sticky thread that lists all releases (with associated SAP note numbers)? Database changes between data records of PSA

Hi all,
Does anybody know a way, how to flush or commit database change between processing each data record from PSA by transfer rules?
I have some routines in transfer rules (updating attributes of master data from datasource), where I need values from exactly previously processed data record. But SELECT from /BIC/Q... table gives me no changes of these values
Command of selection is written correctly, because it gives me new values in next run of DTP process.
And little explanation, what I'm trying to achieve:
In PSA I have account, date and value and I need count, how this value changed for a concrete day and store this value to time-dependent attribute of master data. All data records with the same key (duplicate record) overwrite the result of previously one, so only last one is stored in master data.
Shortly, I need something like aggregation ADDING of routine in transfer rule detail, but able to catch duplicate records.

Some note about investigation process.
I tried change my data flow and made the same transfer rules from data source to ODS, if it will behave in different way.
I have found data records correctly collected (agregated) in New data of ODS, but EMPTY in active data! So I think, the something similar happend in case of updating master data, and that's why I didn't saw any agregation.
There is no need to call-out database changes, but this problem is kind od anythink else
This shoud be for a new thread, but how can keyfigures become empty after activation?? I've searched forum and found only a case, when End routines are implemented and they skip update rules, whitch are initial. This is not my case.
