Changing fields from run() method

I have some threads in my program. There is one which in his run() method changes field of other class, my problem is that the change appears with some dealay. In my opinion the delay is to long. Is there any way to make it faster??
Thanks for reply.
Greg.

I think can... u can set the timeslice of the thread to run faster... try looking it here...

  • Read contents of changing fields from internal table

    Hi Folks,
    Please help me in my query below:
    Consider there is a Z-table with two fields TABNAM and FIELD having values KNA1 and NAME1 respectively.
    In my report I have fetched entries for customers from KNA1. Now based on the field from Z-table I want to populate a variable suppose V_FREE_VAR with the value from KNA1 table.
    Here V_FREE_VAR is of CHAR200 so that it accomodate all types of values from KNA1.
    The value of Z-table FIELD can change daily i.e next day the value may be PSTLZ.
    So how can I read the particular field from internal table as the field to be read is dynamic.
    Note: using case is not feasible.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Shardul

    @Hartmut P
    As Rob said i want to get the value of the field from internal table. the code is something like this.
    I_KNA1 contains records for customers.
    Suppose values of Z-table are in internal table I_TEMP_TABLE.
    Entries in I_TEMP_TABLE are as follows
    TABNAME      FIELDNAME
    KNA1                 NAME1
    The value of FIELNAME in Z-table can be changed
    Loop at I_TEMP_TABLE into WA_TEMP_TABLE.
    Read I_KNA1 into WA_KNA1 with key KUNNR = '0001002234'.
    IF SY-SUBRC EQ 0.
       CASE WA_TEMP_TABLE-FIELDNAME.
            WHEN 'NAME1'.
                 V_VAR = WA_KNA1-NAME1.
             WHEN 'PSTLZ'
                  V_VAR = WA_KNA1-PSTLZ.
    ENDIF.
    But using case is not appropriate as KNA1 contains 176 fields.

  • Change field from read only and override calculation based on radio button

    Hi,
    I have a form in which one of the fields has a simple sum calculation and is set to read only so the user can't change it as it sets a print amount as well.
    But if one of the radio buttons is ticked there is a chance that the print amount needs changing but it can be different based on a few other options so I have managed to set the field so the user can edit it depending on an option but the calculation that sets the value overrides what the user enters. I would like to know if it is possible to change this?
    I use
    this.getField("Quantity_Boxes").readonly = false;
    So the user can edit the field when they select the radio button 'yes' under Mesh_b
    and
    this.getField("Quantity_Boxes").readonly = true;
    So the field goes back to read only when the user selects the 'no' under Mesh_b
    and in the Quantity_Boxes field I use:
    Quantity_Curtains / csn
    Just as a simplified division sum with the decimal places set to 0 so a whole number appears.
    csn is just a hidden field that has an amount set depending on the size of curtain.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

    I have found a solution but caused another problem (well more of an irritation than a problem)
    I have made it so the can field throws a dialogue box asking how many of the item fit into a box, the only problem is that the dialogue box will appear more then once.
    For example I have made a new size know as bespoke and when I select that size and hit return the dialogue box pops up which is fine but when the amount of the product is changed it throws the dialogue box again. I guess this is because the calculation has to be run again but is there anyway of stopping this?
    Here is the code I use in the can field which defines how many curtains are in the box and is used to calculate how many labels need printing out.
    if(this.getField("SizeDrop").value=='LG'){
    event.value = "5"
    } else if (this.getField("SizeDrop").value=='ST'){
    event.value = "8"
    } else if (this.getField("SizeDrop").value=='ME'){
    event.value = "10"
    } else if (this.getField("SizeDrop").value=='SM'){
    event.value = "15"
    } else if (this.getField("SizeDrop").value=='BE'){
    var resp = +app.response("Enter the amount of curtains in a box","","1");
    event.value = resp
    } else {
    event.value = " "
    Thanks,
    Bruce
    EDIT:
    I have found that the dialogue box will appear every time something is changed on the form (even while in the editor as well)

    Hi,
    also it would be helpfull if you have a button or something which can set alive to false, otherwise the thread loops infinitely. Another thing is, that no other thread than the event-handling-thread should change swing components. And third, it would be a good idea, to add a Thread.sleep(1000) or so in the loop to give the event-handling-thread a chance to run also - not all platforms provide preemptive thread switching.
    To set a swing component by another thread than the event-handling thread you should do the following:
    Runnable r = new Runnable() {
    public void run() {
    // here the components setup
    SwingUtilities.invokeLater(r);this way the manipulation of the swing component is done by the event-handling-thread instead.

  • Infotype Screen control - change field from display to change

    Hello,
    I have a field in a custom infotype, which is showing up as only display. I want to change it so that values can be input. I checked the screen layout in se51 and found that the field is checked as input possible field. There is no entry for this infotype in T588M. I am not sure, where else should I look so that i can change to field to take the input. Please suggest.
    Thank you very much !

    Hello Everyone,
    I checked in Module pool Program. The program is written to check the field for some personnel areas. Now, when i did debug, I found that PSYST-werks is not read correctly. Suppose if there are 3 records in infotype 0001, its getting the first record value, not the recent record value. Any suggestions how to change the code, so that the PSYST get the recent record value?
    Sikindar, T588M do not have entry for this table. thank you.
    Jayanthi thank you for your help too.

  • Write to static field from instance method

    instance method writes to a static field. This is tricky to get correct if multiple instances are being manipulated, and generally bad practice.
    public static loadingDialog StatusWndw = null;

    iwant to acces this satic field out side the class.
    how to slove this problem

    Make the LoadingDialog a singleton class. Lookup the singleton pattern.

  • Frm-40208 from running in query mode. cannot change database fields

    Hi,
    Could some one help me with this.
    I am calling a form from another form. I am passing the parameter list to the calling form and doing a query by setting the block property. But when queries the message
    FRM-40208 Form running in query mode. cannot change database fields .
    I do not want the message to appear when they go the called form . Please some one could help me how could I avoid displaying the message.
    Regards
    Bain

    Hi,
    Good day! I am working with a module that also calls another form. It uses call_form with query mode parameter set to query_only. My problem is, whenever i call the other form using the call_form, it would display the called module and then as it populates the detail block of the called form, it will display frm-40208 from running in query mode. cannot change database fields per record. What I want is for the message to be displayed only once.
    I have tried capturing the error by using on-error trigger, but it doesn't go to that whenever the other form was being called. I think the message has to do with the post-query trigger, because it passes some values on a dbase block objects.
    Do you have any suggested solutions or workarounds to make the message display only once whenever the other form is being invoked by the call_form?
    I would greatly appreciate any suggestions/ideas.
    Thanks and regards,
    ASantiago

  • How can I kill all Threads of the same class from within the run() method?

    Ok
    I have a class called Consumer that extends Thread
    I have several Consumer threans running... but, when a certain condition is true (within the run() method) in ANY of the threads, I want to kill ALL the threads of that object.
    is this possible?

    I know this is gonna be too demanding, but can someone please tell me why my Consumer's run() method never reaches the System.out.println( "ALL CONSUMING DONE") line
    Create a multi-threaded prime number calculator that is based on the producer-consumer model
    using semaphores. Your program should be able to check for prime numbers in a range specified
    by the user and with a variable number of threads. Example:
    $ java PrimeFind 3 5000 10000
    should use 1 producer and 2 consumers (3 threads in total, obviously the minimum is 2) to find all
    the prime numbers in the range [5000,10000].
    The producer should: use a buffer to store candidate numbers that have to be checked for
    primality.
    Consumers should: read from the buffer, check if a number is prime and update the status of the
    program accordingly (e.g. show the number on the screen, or save it to a file)

  • A way to change a field from one type to another?

    I need to change a large number of running total fields to formulas based on those running totals. They already have custom formatting and suppression applied. Is there anyway to switch the source/type of the field from the running total to the formula so I don't have to manually re-apply all the complex formatting and suppression rules?

    Hi,
    If your formatting is with suppression and formatting outside the formula then the answer is no.  I'm not exactly sure what you want to do but if , for example, your running total is returning a number and you want to view it as a date.  Pass the total to a new formula and convert it in the new formula.
    You can use ToText which will allow you to convert almost any type to a string and format it.  For example:
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    NumberVar myVariable;
    ToText (myVariable, "yyyy/MM/dd");
    Will convert the formula to a string date or
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    NumberVar myVariable;
    ToText (myVariable, "", "");
    Will convert a number to a string integer.
    You could do something similar using ToNumber or CDate.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Change mail "from" field when share a document get stuck into account selection

    Hi All,
    When I use an application and I try to share a document by mail e popup window appears. Now if I try to change the "from" (I have two mail accounts configured on iOS) the current window is replaced with the list of all available "sender" mail addresses, but, from here, it's impossible to get back to the "share by mail" window!
    See the images in sequence:
    Step 1. Share a doc
    Step 2. Tap on "From" field:
    Step 3. Change "sender" and get stuck
    At this point I can only kill the application!
    This doesn't happens when the share by mail window is as big as the iPad screen!

    Back up all data.
    Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/MailRecents-v4.abcdmr
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
    from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Relaunch the application and test. If there's no change, quit again and put the item you moved back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Otherwise, delete the item you moved.
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • How to get value from Thread Run Method

    I want to access a variable from the run method of a Thread externally in a class or in a method. Even though I make the variable as public /public static, I could get the value till the end of the run method only. After that it seems that scope of the variable gets lost resulting to null value in the called method/class..
    How can I get the variable with the value?
    This is sample code:
    public class SampleSynchronisation
    public static void main(String df[])
    sampleThread sathr= new sampleThread();
    sathr.start();
    System.out.println("This is the value from the run method "+sathr.x);
    /* I should get Inside the run method::: But I get only Inside */
    class sampleThread extends Thread
         public String x="Inside";
         public void run()
              x+="the run method";

    I think this is what you're looking for. I hold up main(), waiting for the results to be concatenated to the String.
    public class sampsynch
        class SampleThread extends Thread
         String x = "Inside";
         public void run() {
             x+="the run method";
             synchronized(this) {
              notify();
        public static void main(String[] args) throws InterruptedException {
         SampleThread t = new sampsynch().new SampleThread();
         t.start();
         synchronized(t) {
             t.wait();
         System.out.println(t.x);
    }
