Changing image scan-size?

Hi,
I have an image say 630x476, that I want to cut. It's not really rescaling but I do want to get rid of part of the image, say change it to 600x400. So basically it's like cutting an image in half and leaving it totally in tact, i.e. the correct scale.
I've used
              g2.drawImage(modImage, newX, newY, null);to no avail because all this function to is redraw the image at the new X and Y coordinates. Any ideas?

Hi,
You can crop any part of the image if you use drawImage with 8 int parameters.
For example cut part (widthOut x heightOut) of the top-left corner:
      g.drawImage(imageIn, 0, 0, widthOut, heightOut, 0, 0, widthOut, heightOut, null);Mimo

  • HP Officejet 7610 Scan sizes

    Is there anyway to set the scan to a specific size other than the presets offered in the HP Utility? I want to scan pages that are 11x12 inches but the scanned output includes the additional 5 inches (which just shows as white). The pages have both text and photos on them and I don't want them scanned to separate files.

    Hi WAL545,
    I see by your post that you would like to change the scan sizes.
    I can help you with this issue.
    I have provided a document for how to change the settings of the scans using the HP Software or Apple Software.
    Scan.
    Specifications for scanning:
    Maximum scan size from glass: 297 x 432 mm (11.7 x 17.0 inches)
    Maximum scan size from ADF: 216 x 356 mm (8.5 x 14.0 inches)
    Here is a screen shot using the HP Scan software for the different sizes, depending what other selections are chosen.
    After you click the Scan button you will get this window.
    You could use the Apple software called Image Capture. You might have differnet options and it looks like they have a
    custom size you can use.
    What operating system are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
    What software are you using to scan with?
    Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • How can I change the page size of a scanned PDF document?

    How can I change the page size of a scanned PDF document?
    I scanned a 50-page document with an HP 5610xi All-In-One using the software that comes with it: HP Scan Pro. Though the physical document has standard 8.5" x 11" pages, the PDF resulting from scanning has page size set to 35.42 × 48.67 inches (according to Preview's "Tools > Inspector". I want to resize the pages to 8.5" x 11". Shouldn't Preview be able to do that with "Tools > Adjust Size..."? When I try, the menu option is grey so I can't select it.
    I'm using Preview Version 4.2.

    Thanks for the insight; that explains why it's the wrong size. I selected 300dpi scanning (which is the default, actually), but HP Scan Pro evidently created a PDF with 72dpi indicated. I want it fixed because I want to distribute the file to other people and have them able to print or display it without problems.
    I still don't know why Preview won't let me change it, but your question about whether I wanted to print it did lead me to find a workaround: "File > Print" and "Save as PDF..." saved it with the correct page size.

  • Changing Images from CMYK to RGB and file size

    Hello and Thank You in advance...
    I'm new to Keynote and I created a slideshow with CMYK image and it is a certain size. When I resaved the images (same name, same location) and resaved the Keynote document, there is no change in file size. Is there a way to update the images in the slideshow?

    Keynote puts the images INSIDE the .key file.
    The best way to fix this is Control-click on a copy of your .key file and choose Show Package Contents.
    Then select your NEW images in the finder and choose COPY (I know, it sounds weird, but the finder in OS X can use the Copy option to actually copy files).
    Then click into the open .key folder and PASTE. You should get a notice that the images inside the folder already exist and do you want to replace them. Choose yes.
    Close the folder and open the .key file and see if it worked okay.

  • CS5 - Export .jpg specify (or change) Image Size

    Ok we have currently setup 2 templates one for print cards and one for web cards. What we would like to do since both cards are identical except the size of the card, is have just one template. Both of these are linked to .Ai vector graphics.
    Problem is Print card is
    W: 91.437 mm
    H: 53.338
    Webcard is
    W: 17.5 in
    H: 10.208
    We have tried first using the print card template which works out great for our printer but when we upload to the web it turns out very pixelated, even when we specified the following preferences:
    for(var myCounter = 0; myCounter < myDocument.pages.length; myCounter++){
    myPageName = myDocument.pages.item(myCounter).name;
    app.jpegExportPreferences.jpegExportRange = ExportRangeOrAllPages.exportRange;
            app.jpegExportPreferences.jpegQuality = JPEGOptionsQuality.high;
             app.jpegExportPreferences.exportResolution = 128;
       app.jpegExportPreferences.pageString = myPageName;
    My guess is because of the size is alot smaller then what we had originally for web cards.
    Then we tried to use the web card and export for print, but upon uploading it dosen't scal correctly to the printer and they only see the middle of the card, because it is over sized.
    Have tried the following against the print template:
    var myDocument = app.documents.item(0);
        with(myDocument.documentPreferences){
    pageHeight = "17.5 in";
    pageWidth = "10.208 in";
    but this has only changed the page size not the image.
    Any way to resize or specify a size for a complete image .jpg not just the page?
    Please help, thanks in advance,
    Joe

    Hi
    I'm not sure but maybe you can use a rectangle to hold the .ai image, resize the rectangle and fit proportionally the image inside it
    hope this help

  • How do you change image size in the title window?

    I just changed operating systems to Windows 7, which meant that I had to re install Premiere Pro CS4. I am now working on a 64 bit system. Might not make any difference, but thought I would give you the specifics just in case.  When I pull up the title window to add a title to my clip, the image is about the size of a postage stamp. How do I increase the size of the image in that window?

    Thank you again for responding Hunt. I did find out what what was happening.
    I had to reinstall the program on my computer. I just upgraded to Windows 7, and I now have a 64 bit system. When I booted up PPCS4, I assumed that my settings would be the same as they were before when I had Vista installed and didn't bother to check them when I started a new project. Well, they were not. I also added a TV tuner card to my computer. I now can watch HD TV on my computer. I suppose that it is possible that somehow PPCS4 noticed that, and set my default settings to HD, rather than NTSC DV. I just merrily went along clicking the OK button and started editing. When I start a new project now, I select NTSC DV and the Title window works just fine, and exactly the way I expect it to.
    I just received Jeff Bellune's book Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 in the mail and will be totally immersed in Encore studies today. With all of his children, I don't see how he had time to write it, but I'm glad that he did. I also ordered a book entitled Designing Menus with Encore DVD. I know that it was written for an earlier version than CS4, but I will trust what you said about that. Many things are the same with some minor variations due to upgrades in the program. The basic ideas don't change, but how you accomplish them can, and usually do over time.

    Subject: how do you change image size in the title window?
    Welcome to the forum.
    That is an odd one. The Title should be the same Frame Size as your Project/Sequence. What is it's Frame Size? Also, are you perhaps doing a Title based on an older Template, that was done for a different Frame Size?
    What happens if you choose Title>New Title>Default Still?
    Good luck,

  • PictureLibrarySlideshowWebPart - Change image size to original size

    Hi,
    I'm using the PictureLibrarySlideshow Web part as image slider in the banner of a SharePoint website. Apparently this web part changes the image size so it is smaller than its original size.
    Is there a simple solution to solve this and resize the image? I found some Jquery solutions but they did not fix the problem.
    Thanks!

    Hi
    Ward010 ,
    In Slideshow web part, picture is initialized with field value that contains the Url of  Web image (EncodedAbsWebImgUrl  field). Unfortunately it is not supported to configure in web part what image
    type (original, web or thumbnail) should be displayed in Slideshow The solution that demonstrated below allows to display original images instead of web images in Slideshow web part.
    In order to specify original images, method overriding for picture initialization is used:
    function SlideshowObjectInitializer() {
      ShowPic = (function(ShowPicOrig) {
          return function() {
               var ssObj = arguments[0];  //SlideShow object
               var curPicIdx=ssObj.index; //current picture index
               ShowPicOrig.apply(this, arguments); //call original ShowPic
               //apply some changes to display original picture in SlideShow control
               ssObj.image.src = ssObj.linkArray[curPicIdx]; //display original image instead of web image
               //change picture & container size to auto instead of fixed (by default web image size is used)
               ssObj.image.setAttribute('height','100%');
                   ssObj.image.setAttribute('width','100%');
                   var cell = ssObj.cell;
                   cell.style.width = 'auto';
                   cell.style.height = 'auto';
                   cell.style.display = '';
                   var pcell = ssObj.cell.parentNode;
               pcell.style.width = 'auto';
                   pcell.style.height = 'auto';
      })(ShowPic);
    ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(SlideshowObjectInitializer, 'imglib.js');
    Save      JavaScript code to the file, for example in SlideshowObjectInitializer.txt      and upload it to SiteAssets Library
    Add      CEWP on page where Slideshow web part is located and in the Content Editor      tool pane, under Content Link property,
    type /SiteAssets/SlideshowObjectInitializer.txt

  • I need to change my image file size but keep the same pixels. Possible?

    I'm trying to upload an image to a mobile ad platform (Adfonic) with the following requirements: Image dimensions 216 x 36 pixels; max file size 3.0 kb; file formats supported GIF, JPG, PNG. I figured out how to change the pixel size but now my file is too big. I have Photoshop CS4 Extended & Vista.
    I changed the file resolution but then the pixel size changes. What can I do?
    Thanks!

    Save-As, JPEG offers you a quality slider.  You trade quality for size.  This still wouldn't give you what you needed?
    You could try JPEG 2000, but beware, it's not as compatible with as many things, and it can look kind of weird, but boy does it compress...

  • Changing the frame size of a Quicktime image sequence

    I need to create an image sequence of a short piece of video. I know how to make an image sequence using the Quicktime conversion, but I can't get it to export in widescreen 1920 x 1080. It keeps exporting the frame size of the images as 1440 x 1080. How to you change the frame size?

    the original clip has a frame size of 1440 x1080 hence that is how it exports ... you must set the pixel aspect ratio in your image processing app to 1440x1080 then the footage should appear normal.
    (in Photoshop that's the HDV Widescreen 1.333 pixel aspect ratio setting)
    edit: or you could export a tiff image sequence using compressor and do the resize in there

  • Scan size change

    I got a  new hp laserjet m476nw and now my adobe scan is legal size only and not letter.  how do i change setting?

    I'm running 64-bit Windows 7. This problem (scan size changed to legal from 8.5 x 11) started within the past 4 weeks. What's the solution?

  • Change image size on list Field

    I have list library which has column of "Person or Group" and selected "Name with (picture)".  But i cant change image Size there. its always 62x62. How can i change it?
    any idea?
    Regards,
    Lasantha

    How exactly are you wanting to change it? height and width should just be attributes in the element... so.. probably the most simple (but not exactly elegant) way to handle this is to use jQuery.
    If you drop the following script into a Content Editor Web Part on your page, it will resize all the profile pics to 100x100.  (change the numbers to the size you want):
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    jQuery(document).ready(function($){
    $("img[width='62']").each(function()
    $(this).attr("width","100");
    $(this).attr("height","100");
    </script>
    Some Caveats:
    1) This script resizes ALL images that have a width of 62. So, if you have some other random image on your page that is 62px wide, it will find it and resize as well.
    2) I'm references the jQuery library externally which I do not usually recommend, but at least you can drop this script in and it should just work.
    Again, not elegant, and I'm sure someone smarter than me can improve on it, but it should at least get you what you need.
    Good luck!

  • Laserjet pro CM1415fnw color mfp - scanning size

    When scanning a letter size document through the paper feed, the documents always scan legal size.  I tried to change the paper size, but the only option given is "automatic".  If I place a single piece of paper on the glass, it will scan letter size.  If I have a 10 page document to scan, it takes too much time to place each sheet individually on the glass.  Can someone help with instructions on getting letter size documents scanned through the paper feed to scan to letter size documents rather than legal size?

    Hi @lejoco ,
    I see that you are experiencing issues only when scanning from the ADF. The letter size is scanning as a A4 size.
    I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
    What application are you scanning with?
    If you installed the full software drivers, the scanning software would be HP  Scan Software. Here is a screen shot of the paper options that you should be getting when scanning.
    If you are still not able to change the paper sizes through the software, I would uninstall and reinstall it.
    HP LaserJet Pro Series Full Solution Software and Driver.
    If you need further assistance, just let me know.

  • HP Office jet pro scanning size issue

    I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500
    When scanning to my computer to a .pdf it always results in an 8.5x14 document not an 8.5x11 document
    (and this happens regardless of whether I scan a book page with the scanning lid open or an 8.5x11 single page original with the scanning lid closed)
    Using the HP solution center Scan Settings - I cannot find any possible place to change the default settings to force it to scan to an 8.5x11 size
    I have looked at the Adobe help which tells me to find the place to change my scanning default settings (under File -> Create) but I do not have a Create option under my File menu in Adobe (I believe I just have the basic Adobe reader)
    And I cannot see how to change the properties of  .pdf in Adobe to change the size from 8.5x14 to 8.5x11
    I have no idea where else to look to figure out how to fix this
    Anyone have any other ideas?
    (and I am running an HP computer with Windows 8.1)
    Thanks.

    Hello there! Welcome to the forums @SKMgherkin ,
    I read about how you cannot scan in letter size and only in legal size from your Officejet 8500 model. I will certainly do my best to help you out!
    I would like to ask if you could post me back a screen shot of the scan size settings you are able to see in the Solution Center software.
    Also try running the Print and Scan Doctor tool to see if the tool will correct the settings in the software.
    Hope to hear from you!

  • Sophos AV max scanning size / timeout

    Hi,
    I haven't found any changeable settings for max. scanning size or scanning timeout on a S160 v7.1.3 with Sophos AV.
    In the GUI under "Security Services-->Anti-Maleware"  it shows  "Object Scanning Limits: Max. Object Size:  32 MB".
    I'm not able to change it. This parameter seems not to belong to the Sophos AV.
    I can change it only after enableing Webroot or McAfee first.
    The CLI has no commands for adjusting AV settings.
    How can I control the max. scanning size or scanning timeout with Sophos-AV?
    Has it fixed values for it?
    Does anyone have an idea, how it works?
    Kind regards,
    Manfred

    With administrator rights, the value should be editable.  The object size is applied to all scanners which have been licensed and enabled on the appliance.

  • How to change the logo size on all the pages?

    I have some 125 pages and i need to change the logo size of every page .Is there any method to change with one click that reflects on all the other pages ? Rather than i do it manually open every page and change the logo size? The logo is in the div. I want to use it as html rather than using as css div background image. Any help will be highly appreciated am using DWCS6 on win xp pro.

    If the code is the same on every page, you could use the Find & Replace function within DW...
    1. Make a backup of your site files, just in case
    2. Make the necessary changes to one page to get what you want (make sure you know what the original code for it was/is)
    3. Hit Ctrl + F to open the Find/Replace Dialogue
    4. For "Find In" choose Entire Current Local Site
    5. In "Search" choose Source Code
    6. For "Find" put the line(s) of code that contain your background image on all pages (the original code mentioned in #2 above)
    7. For "Replace" put in the newly changed line(s) of code from step 2.
    8. Hit Replace All
    DW will go through all of the pages, replacing whatever code you put in Find with whatever code you put in Replace.
