Changing logo color in eps, tif or jpg
Hello!
I have my logo in many forms: eps,tif and jpg. I don't know how to change the color of the logo. I was told to use layers but I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Here are two ways:
In both cases first convert your picture from grayscale to RGB: In my version of PSE this is via Image > Mode > RGB Color.
Activate the Magic Wand tool with the Contiguous box unchecked on the options bar. Click on the logo to select it. It might be easier to select the white background and then invert the selection.
Method 1:
Set the Foreground color (color swatch at bottom of the toolbar) to your new color and fill the selection via Edit > Fill or the shortcut Alt-Backspace. If you want to preserve the original B&W you can do the fill on a blank layer as I have done in this example:
Method 2:
With the logo selected add a Solid Color fill layer and select your color in the Color Picker window.
This method has the advantage that you can easily change the color by double-clicking the fill layer thumbnail to bring up the Color Picker again.

Color problem converting .tif to .jpg
I've batch converted 300 .tif's to .jpg's. My client says the
images now have an inaccurate pink hue. Is there something I don't
know about here? The Fireworks "better quality' setting corresponds to
Quality: 80
Smoothing: No Smoothing
Sharpen color edges (checked)
Remove unused colors (checked)
If I open a 66k .jpg image I have previously saved at Quality
in the high 90s, "better quality" will result in a .jpg at 16k
file. I usually export with quality above 90; 80 seems extreme for
all but the softest of images. If I was going to save .jpgs of
artwork, I wouldn't use the "better quality" setting.
What you need to do is understand what your setting are. I'm
pretty sure you can set the parameters for your batch conversion to
be whatever you want. Experiment with a few of the images you have
to determine what is optimal
for your images and define a new export preset (or more than
one) to use. Images with higher contrast (either luminance or
color) will need a higher quality setting to achieve the same
relative faithfulness in reproduction. -
Change graphic color programatically
How can I programatically change the color of a canvas grahpic?
Thanks.Hi Robin,
I don't know why this works now, but I changed my test script to place the image in the script, then change the color and it works (which is more like the way I'm going to use it in production). With my first test I was trying to change the color of the tif file that I had manually placed on the page.
Thanks,
Archie
Below is test script that works.
Rem ColorTest.vbs
Set myInDesign = CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS3")
Set myDocument = MyInDesign.ActiveDocument
myFile = "X:\SCANNED_ART\1659418-100.tif"
Rem Get Color of Text
Set myTextFrame = myDocument.textFrames.item("text")
myTextContents = myTextFrame.Texts.Item(1).Contents
myTextColor = myTextFrame.Texts.Item(1).fillColor
Rem Place Graphic
Set myGraphic = myDocument.Pages.Item(1).Place (myFile)
Set myGraphic = myGraphic.Item(1)
MsgBox "Graphic Placed"
Rem Set Color
myGraphic.fillColor = myDocument.Colors.Item(myTextColor) -
Is there a way to change the color of a linked eps or ai file in InDesign?
I have a questionaire form that I'm placing in several documents. I need it to be exactly the same in all instances except that it occurs in 4/c on some docs and 1/c (black) on others.
It'd be best to have all the Indesign files link to the same eps (or ai, or eps) file so that I know any change to the text of the linked questionaire will be reflected on all of the InDesign docs. But I don't think InDesign will let me change the color of the text and other filled or stoked elements of eps, ai, or pdf files.
I can change a these in a grayscale tif file. But rasterising the questionaire at a high dpi somewhat defeats the live update feature I'm trying to add here (and bloats my file size).
Could the fact that I can't change the document color mode to grayscale in AI be a factor here?
Thank you for your time! The only way I can think of is to use a Spot Colour in Illustrator.
You can then place that into InDesign and the Spot Colour should show up in the Swatches Panel.
In InDesign - create a New Swatch and have this be a Spot colour too.
Using the Swatches Panel flyout menu (top right) you can go Ink Manager...
From here you can Map the colour used in Illustrator to the colour you have creaeted in InDesign.
This will replace the colour in InDesign only - and results may vary on output.
You will need to use View>Overprint Preview to view the results.
Hope that helps. -
Changing the color of an image in EPS format using Illustrator
How do I change the color of an image in EPS format using Illustrator? Once I do this how do I change the format of the image from EPS to something I can select onto a website like JPG, JPEG or PNG? I plan to print the image onto a T-shirt.

I have a logo with the registered trademark symbol. I tried to change the color of the registered trademark symbol to the same color as the logo, using the color replacement tool but it did not work. Is there another way to change its color?
Also, I need to find out how big the registered trademark symbol is in comparison to the logo. (height, width, how far away from the logo the symbol is). How do I do this? Trying to use the Ruler tool was a disaster. As you've probably noticed, I'm very new to Photoshop.
thanks,Depending on what colors you are working with adding a layer above the logo with the "color" layer style may work for you. This really only works if the logo is on white and the TM isn't black or white.
For Example:
Before
Paint (on a new layer) the new color
Change the layer style of that new green layer to "color"
And voila!
If you're working with a black or white TM you may just have to mask it out and make a new one with the text tool, I'm not aware of another way to change it (though I'm not the photoshop guru some of these people are =D) -
I have a logo from another source and need to change the colors of it, HOW?
I had an outside source build me a logo which I want to use for my product labels etc. but I'm having trouble figuring out how to format a template for the correct size to transfer to the labels and I cant figure out how to change the color/colors of the logo that I was given?
Andy,
The trial works just as the paid one, same version, only time limited.
If you open the AI version, what happens when you Alt/OptionClick (hold Alt if on Windows, Option if on Mac when clcking) one of the areas you wish to colour change?
If we are lucky, that will select the area, and you may change the colour (if you have selected the Fill box rather than the Stroke box at the bottom of the Toolbox); you may set the CMYK or RGB values in Window>Color (choose the relevant one from the flyout), or from the Window>Swatches, or in a few other ways. -
How do I change the color of my logo?
I wanted to change the color of my logo from black to brown. I have tried the color replacement tool, but that have not worked.
Hello,
There are many different methods to get this done, do you need it to be a specific shade of brown? if not, here's a simple technique:
Go to Image > Adjust > Hue and Saturation
turn on the Colorize checkbox. Increase the lightness slider a few degress. Then play around with the Hue and Saturation sliders until you achieve the desired color.
For reference, here is an example using Hue/Sat on black text:

I have imported and renamed TIF and JPG files with the same metadata re recording date and time. Only the TIF files are imported, the JPG files remain unimproved. Thus I have in the Finder e. g. 13 image files in the same folder in which Lightroom only finds 10 files. Any ideas for resolution welcome!
ThanksTurn off the option Preferences > General > Treat JPEG Files Next To Raw Files As Separate Photos. Then do an import again. It appears that, in this instance, LR considers a TIFF to be a "raw" file.

How do I change the color black
I will preface this by saying I am new to Photoshop.
The Problem? I have a family logo on a solid black background. This is not a photograph. I want to change the solid black background to a custom green color. This sounds simple enough, but I cannot get Photoshop to change the black to green for me. Here is what i have tried so far.
1. My file is a 16-bit RGB TIF file. I have saved the file as a RAW file and a PSD file and neither of these work. So I assume the problem is not the TIF format.
2. I have tried this.
Image -> Adjustments -> change color.
I can use the eyedropper to select the black (in the background) and the preview shows the black selected.
However, when I move the HUE slider below, the color stays black. It does not change color.
If I type in the Hue Saturation and Lightness numbers for my color, the background will change, but it changes to gray, not my color.
3. I have tried this
I set my background to the color I want. (A custom color I created, of R:34 G: 139 B:34)
I click on BrushTool -> Color Replacement Tool
Settings on the horizontal tool bar are
Mode: color Sampling: Once Limits: Contiguous Tolerance: 5%
I then click on the black background, but it stays black. It does not change to the color I specified.
(I have also tried Discontiguous, different modes, different sampling, etc. Nothing works).
I will note that if I set my background to blue (R:0 G:0 B:255), then the Color Replacement Tool works.
It will change the black background to the basic blue color.
It just will not work for the custom green color that I created.
It also will not work for most of the other default colors in PHotoshop.
This is probably trivial for some of you, but I have spent a couple hours listening to tutorials on youtube and trying various things, and I am stuck. Would appreciate your wisdom.I would like to thank everyone for their kind suggestiosn and insights. I will try your suggestions as learning exercises, since I am still very wet behind the ears on all this stuff and the more I can learn and know, the better.
Good news is that I was able to get my background to change from black to the green color that I wanted. I utilized a two-step process that dawned on me after I responded to Curt Y's first post. Realizing that I was able to change the black background to a blue on an earlier try (though it would not respond to my attempts to turn in to the green I wanted), I thought it might work to change the color twice - first to a color it would accept, and then from that color to the green i wanted. This process worked. I probably would not have thought of this without the comment from Curt Y, who got me thinking outside my box.
Thanks again ... and I will try your suggestions because they will teach me new things and some of them are likely simpler than what I did. -
Photoshop CS3 tries to open tif and jpgs as RAW?
While the problem looks like a PS3 issue, I believe it is somehow related to LR, so I will ask here.
When I try to open some of my saved TIF and JPG files back into Photoshop CS3, it often brings the files into the Adobe Camera Raw converter instead of just opening them. The JPGs look terrible, with a huge color and tone shift. I can open the same file using "Open As" JPG and it opens fine directly into Photoshop. Same for opening problem files using the TIF extension.
I don't see a pattern to all this as maybe half of the images in a folder open directly into Photoshop using the basic OPEN command, but the other half end up trying to go through ACR. The files originated as NEF files taken with a Nikon D300.
Normally, I use the Export command in Lightroom and run my images through a preset, saving as 8bit, Adobe RGB, TIF files into a specific folder. I seldom export as a Smart Object from LR to PS, so I don't think that's the problem here. When converting my TIF files to JPGs, I run them through an action which also converts them from Adobe RGB to sRGB.
Once I've done my Photoshop edits, I usually save the TIF file, then make a few additional JPG web images while still in PS.
As far as I know, I am treating all my Photoshop images with the same workflow. I am using Windows XP, LR 2.4 and Photoshop CS3 10.0.1
Does anyone here have a suggestion to help me solve this problem?
Thanks,
M. JacksonThanks for the input. When the files try to open in ACR, I see there are two options lit up. Auto - Default
If I click Default, the colors and tones change to their correct values, so that more or less gets me opened up correctly.
However, I don't see any place to set preferences in ACR. ?????
These files are older ones that have been added to the LR catalog through the Sync Folder command.
At least now I have the workaround, but wouldn't mind changing a setting in either LR, PS, or ACR to eliminate the problem altogether.
Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.

How can I change the color of plot in a waveform chart and graph?
There are 4 plots in a waveform chart, from plot0 to plot3, and I want to chang the color of plots dynamicly up to my needs when the VI is running.
For example, as show in the picture, i want to set the plot0 as RED, and plot1 is BLUE, plot2 is YELLOW, plot3 is GRAY.
If there is only one plot, i can change it's color, however when there are more than one plot, it fail.
How can I do it?
Thanks

first you have to set the active plot, then change its color (or other properties). All that is done using property nodes.

How can I change the color of the new tab button?
Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to change the color of the new tab button, list all tab button, and tab groups button. I have been searching for personas that don't make it hard to see those particular buttons for days now, but since I can't seem to find any I was hoping there was a way to change those buttons' colors to make them more visible with the personas.
[http://i54.tinypic.com/2ui9351.jpg Here's a picture of the situation]
I want to change those 3 buttons (and the "show more bookmarks" button that appears when the window is too small to show them all) to white or some other more visible color. I know there's a way to change the background of those buttons, but I'd prefer if I could change the '+' button itself in the new tab button for example. Is there any way to do it? Because it's so hard to find personas that don't make it hard to see text or buttons.
Thanks.jus an example
