Changing Member Storage property

Hi,
Is there a command in ESSCMD/MAXL to change the storage property of a member from Store to Dynamic Calc or vice-versa.

Hey Russ,
You can't do it directly with MaxL, but you can set up a Rules file that reads in a text file with the member storage property, and that can be initiated via MaxL.
Search the DBA guide for "Creating Rules Files", this will give you a table of the character to use to set the member storage property, as well as other useful information.

How to use Dimension Build to change member property?

Hello,
I have researched online on how to do this and I think i have an understanding but I cannot get it to work. My dimension build rules file is of type Parent Child. The fields are Parent, Child, Alias. I am looking to add a Property field to change the consolidation property to - for one member. I have checked off all the options required and tried several different ways but always come with the following error on that line.

What i want to do is assign the - subtraction for consolidation on the OPERATING member. Can this be done with the Parent Child type dimension build? Could this be achieved automatically in another way?

Hey guys, thanks for the tips. The source file is tab delimited. I made sure there was a tab between Operating Expenses and the - for subtractions. The lines look like so.
REV_PROJ PS100001 - ACC PS100001 - ACC_PS-M9 Revenue Settlement

I know they don't show the tab but it's there. I have the field set to Property for Account_Desc (Dimension im updating in the outline) with a value of 0. I have also checked off "Delete when the field is empty" as to not change the consolidation on the other lines. i guess i need to figure out why it's treating the final "-" as a member and not as a part of the same line holding it's property. Is there a EOL delimiter i should be setting?

Shared Member: Global Property Change

Hi,
I am working in DRM( Web Version) 11.1.2.1. I have some issue with Shared Member Property change.
Is there any way to restrict/change the Shared member Global property value without changing its base member value? Is there any system preference for this?
If anybody know any other way to restrict it than please tell me, its urgent.

I don't really understand your question, you are talking about BSO loading dimensions then extract then ASO, what actually is your question?

Changing Storage Property via C API

How to change data storage in Planning?

I want to change the data storage property of a base member in Planning from Shared to Store. When I cilcked on EDIT, I don't see the option for data storage. Where should i go?

I remember you posted questions about using Outline Load Utility. You can use OLU to update data storage properties. In your csv file have the following format:
Parent Account Data Storage
Assets Asset1 Never Share
Just an option to updating members manually if you have a lot of members to modify...

How to change ExchangeRate Type Property in EPMA

Hi all,
I would like to change the ExchangeRate Type Property (from NONE to AVERAGE) in EPMA Accounts Dimension (local dimension) for a lev0 member, but the Property is read-only (and it is flagged as "DERIVED"). How can I change the Property or another question where the fuck is the Source for the inherited value????

Ok, I could find it - if you change DataType to currency (was unspecified) than you can change the ExchangeRate Type.

How to change the storage location in Lightroom 3.6.?
I use my internal hard drive NTFS of my MacBook Pro as my storage location of Lightroom 3.6. being installed in Snow Leopard now but the data of my photos get too big now. I have two fast and big external hard drives eSATA now which I want to use for my data/photos. I know how to copy the data from one hard drive to another but I don't know how to change the settings in connection with Lightroom easily. I still want to watch all fotos on my MacBook Pro but don't want to save any fotos on my internal harddrive any more. Isn't it possible to have the programm Lightroom on my internal harddrive but the data on two times on two different extermal hard drives? If I look at Lightroom - settings of catalogue - I see that the internal harddrive location is my storage location now but I my two external harddrives don't appear as folders. Why? How to change that so that the external hard drives appear in Lightroom and I can watch all my fotos immediately (sometimes using external hard drive 1 and sometimes using external hard drive 2)?
My external hard drives are in HFS+ but I use the software of Paragon so that there shouldn't be any problem to read and write the data (I use also Final Cut Express so my external hard drives are HFS+ and not NTFS).
I want to impert many data from CDs - should I copy the fotos first to my external hard drive and then import it into Lightroom or is it easier to import the data directly from the CD in Lightroom so that I don't have to name the folders two times?
I see that I have to sort the fotos from the CDs in new different folders and an used to do that in Finder of my MacBookPro. In Lightroom I don't want have to click each of hundreds of fotos to be able to put it into the right folders ... But how to import only a part of a CDs quickly into the right (newly created) folders?

I would NOT do this. I would not change the file name.
I would add keywords and other metadata to the photos to identify the content of the photos, and from that point on, I would use keywords and other metdata to search for these photos.
However, let's look at the big picture. I think there are three different methods of organizing

You can choose any one of the three methods above, the choice is yours. I am a very strong believer that for most people (and it sounds like you are one of those people), method 1 is the best method. However, not everyone agrees.
There are drawbacks to using file names to identify your photos. One big drawback is that you must type the information into each photo's name, and this is more tedious than if you wanted to assign the keyword "mountain" to the photos, you can assign the keyword to multiple photos at once. Also, if you mis-spell the information in the file name on any photo, you have just made the photo much harder to find; whereas in Lightroom, the keyword can be assigned via a mouse click (so you can't mis-spell it), or by typing the first few letters and Lightroom (auto-fill) will find the correct keyword name. So using keywords is a much simpler way to go.

It is very simple to add keywords, as I explained for this case. Create keywords "Austria", "Mountain", "Valley"; then select the desired photos, and then click on the check box next to the keyword name. It is much more complicated in my opinion to rename the photos in this manner.
There is less danger in doing this via keywords than the danger doing this via file names, because of potential mis-spellings.
If I spend a lot of time in editing photos (in Lightroom or Photoshop) I don't want that I loose those photos f.i. later if Lightroom won't be the software I use regarding the photos (in 10, 20 years?!)
Lightroom will OPTIONALLY write your keywords and other metadata to the files (or sidecar files in the case of RAW). Every photographic application I know of (and I'm sure those in the future) can read the keywords and other metadata. So if you ever want to switch to some other software, your keywords and other metadata are available. you can turn this option on via Edit->Catalog Settings->Metadata, check Automatically Write Changes to XMP.
So I have to create two folders - one with the originals and one with the edited exported photos?
No, you do not have to create two folders. You don't have to export everything, but if you do, you can put the exports wherever you want, including putting them in the same folder as the originals, with different name.
Why not edit them in Photoshop and save them in the second folder which I import later in Lightroom? Because it takes longer?

If your goal is to edit the photos in Photoshop, and then put them in folders with whatever custom name you want to give them, then what is the benefit of using Lightroom? You can do all of this WITHOUT Lightroom. You keep explaining that your intended goal is to use Photoshop and folders/file names, and this is a goal which AVOIDs all benefits of Lightroom. I can't understand what you think the benefits of using Lightroom are for you.
It is starting to sound to me like Lightroom is not the right software for you.
Some people want to see a movie on their TV and are able to watch a DVD (not all!). Flickr seems to be a solution for movies in a big size (many GBs) to share them with friends (?)
You haven't mentioned this before, and you should check the rules on Flickr regarding how long a video you can upload.

Dynamical change read only property of columns based on a profile option

We are attempting to change a Oracle iProcurement(ShoppingCartPG) which has certain readonly columns by default.
However, we need to make these columns updateable based on a responsibility level profile option. The code goes something like this.
if readonly_profile_option = "TRUE"
{make columnA property = readonly}
else if readonly_profile_option = "FALSE"
{make columnA property = updateable}
I read the guide about switchers and it seems confusing (to me). So if someone can provide an example with some pseudocode that will be helpful.
Also, can I dynamically add an LOV to column A if readonly is false? Of course the LOV should be disabled if readonly.

Didn't know it was that simple. I always thought that the controller fires--> then the page renders --> then the VO attributes get poulated. Basing my understanding on this flow, I though that the bean properties can only be set in controllers and not in VOs(via SPEL). I'll try it tomorrow.

Our requirement is to make an Oracle seeded field(SupplierName in iProcurement) updateable and with an LOV . Oracle has seeded it as ReadOnly.
I have two options.
1. If I change the readonly property in jedeveloper(I cannot access it via personalization) and add SPEL that would be upgrade 'unsafe' customizing - I think.
2. So I thought I'll extend the controller, substitute it and use

I use PC therefore Windows. When I thing about Application like Photoshop I know the are going to be files all over the place. Windows like everything installed on the Boot disk. I gave up the fight many years ago and let windows have it way when application are installed using an installer. However besides the application files you have user files and I break user files down into to categories. Windows User files like applications settings, preferences, cashes, etc and user Data Files, Images, text documents, PDF. Applications like Photoshop also have add-ons an need swap space as well. While all Windows default library reside on the C: drive you can add additional storage to you document, music, picture and video libraries the are not on the c: Most of my user data file are actually on external ESATA drives or USB3 drives. System files, Application Files, Paging, swapping and backup are on internal SSd and Fast Disk drive. Some of the folder that look like they are on C: are actually shortcut links to folders on other drives.

I am trying to come up with an Event Receiver that will change the name property of an file when it is uploaded. For instance when a file is uploaded into a document Library, currently the Title is being generated (which is fine)...I want to be able to

How and Where to change ESS payslip property as READ only Mode

Hi,
We are SAP ECC5.0 and using EP6 for ESS payslip. We have a problem
launching ESS payslip for those employees who have Acrobat Editor and
Reader installed. One can actually change the payslip information via
Acrobat Editor when click onto PRINT button.
However, for those without Acrobat Editor installed in the PC, we do
not have such problem. Please advise how to resolve this.
Was told to change ESS payslip property as READ only Mode. Unable to find this in the configuration setting.

BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE can be used to do batch split and updating storage loaction against each item of an outbond delivey.
I have done that in the folllowing way:
1 > Firstly i have updated the storage location for each delivery item using 'BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE' passing some mininal parameters.
   Fetch the item details from LIPS table based on the outbound delivery and pass the corresponding fields to item_data, item_control and item_data_spl parameters and passed into intenal table li_lips.
Loop at li_lips inti lw_lips.
    lw_item_data-deliv_numb           = lw_lips-vbeln.
    lw_item_data-deliv_item             = lw_lips-posnr.

Here you have to pass the same thing along with actual delivery qauntity and different batches to do batch split.
Here it is assumed that Batch numbers, actual delivered quantity are coming from an internal table i_lqua.

Stock Type Changes for Storage Unit Mgt.

I am looking to develop an R3 system program (in ABAP) which based on certain criteria can change a storage unit's stock type between unrestricted, quality, and blocked. I know there is a BAPI, 'BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE', which can be used to do the Posting Change in IM and there are function modules, L_TO_CREATE_SINGLE, etc, which can be used to create/confirm transfer orders for the storage unit in WM, but I was hoping someone can provide guidance on how I could make this simpler. Is there a one-step method I can use to combine the movements for IM and WM (either programatically or through configuration). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To Change the Readonly Property

In Portal Personal data Screen for belgium , Country of Birth field (Drop Down Box) is Read Only.
We have to change the readonly property.
I tried through iView personalisation ,the property of that field is Not readonly.
2) In the WD java Application the field property is NORMAL .
3) I have checked in V_T588MPROPC, there also we dont have any entry for this field.
In Backend ECC this field is editable ,
Can any one please let me know where should i will change to make this field as Editable.

by the back-end business logic checks it will not change a

You could try the Personalization options - Ctrl and Right
mouse button over the UI element (either in the browser
or in a PCD preview - for global changes for all users)
- please check there for options to change the country
field to editable
However I suspect the field is read-only because
1) You are on a lower release than EHP3 -foreign address
maintainence via Country field is only available
as standard from EHP3
2) You do no have EHP3 business function HCM_ESS_CI_1 switched on
these business functions activate foreign address functionality
3) You are editing a record - try instead creating a new record
4) Inconsistency in V_T7XSSPERFORADD - check this against client 000
