Changing Resources in NWBC

Hello!
I've got an interesting phenomenon. When editing a resource in the NWBC and pressing "Save" I always get the error 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL' . Sometimes the changed information is saved, sometimes not.
I tried it with or without cost rate. Changing various fields.
However, I never get the error, when editing at the same time, the same BP in the GUI. Then any change is saved without a problem. The BP are maintained in the Roles "employee" and "resource".
Did I miss a setting?
Does any of you have an idea why I get the error?

Hi Nina,
you can go to backend system and run transaction ST22 to get the detailed information about the dump . Check then using the mentioned key words to search the note. Post the call stack in the thread would helpful too

Is there any way to change a resource in a process order operation?, I have 5 machines, but sometimes I use the machine1 and machine2 to produce the material A, but if i dont have capacity to produce or if one machine is not working, I could use another machines. I know i could use products versions, but if I do thar, there will be a lot of convinations.

as correctly said by Caetano in standard SAP the only tool to change work center in production orders is in leveling activity through CM21 (graphics or tabelar - CM21 , CM22).
In this strument (CM21) according to customizing setting in strategy profile (belonging to overall profile)
you can change resource through drag / drop method or (with special setting in strategy profile) insering manually a new resourse.
As alternative tool is possible to create a custom report and change work center using a BI custom using a filter tool present in the production order after go to operation details. Unfortunaltely in the standard SAP there isn't a bapi/fm (released by SAP) to change work center in production order.

Remove password column in Change User Request [NWBC]

Hi everyone,
one simple UI-related question: in a change access request (template based) in NWBC, if we add one or more roles under User Access tab, the associated system/clients are listed in the User System Details tab (see the attached screenshot). There we can see two columns, namely Password and Confirm Password - which are both editable. We would like to either hide them or at least make them un-editable.
We know that it is possible to get rid of them by creating a custom view - which implies a little programming and needs a developer key. Unfortunately, this is not possible for us at the moment.
So my question is: can we, at least, make those two fields/columns un-editable for the requestor?

What ever you are trying is very much possible , From se 80 you can opne the end user form in expert mode and make these field non editable or hidden ,
I think few days or months back Jatin Grover from SAP posted a document on sdn which talks about customizing end user form .You can use the same for solving you issue .

How do I change Resource Cost Center only and retain historical cost center data?

How would a Project Server Admin accommodate changes in the resource's cost center itself?
For example, Ken (timesheet submitter) records Feb time in cost center C1, but then transfers to a new team, which is in cost center C2 on Mar 1st.
When I change his cost center at the resource level, reporting indicates all of his previous C1 time as a resource under the C2 cost center, and all of his C1 time looks like it's incorrectly in C2.
I am thinking about adding custom resource fields to track these changes, but it seems like a lot of extra work, if something already exists that I can use.

AFAIK, there is no way to do this OOB as Resource Fields are not 'time-phased'.
A 'possible' alternative, like you mentioned, could be be to use custom fields to track, the change (like Effective Date, Old Cost Center), and then somehow write a query to consider the old cost center between the dates. I have not tried this personally,
just a thought.

Changing Resource Order in Provisioned Resource Page

Hi,
Is is possible to change the order of the Resources which are getting displayed in Provisioned Resource Page.Let us say I have 2 resources A and B .I always wanted to A first and then B ,in the Provisioned resource page of that user.Any clue on how to achieve this?.Thanks in Advance.

I think Oracle has already provided this. Just click on Resource Name there it will sorted first A and then B.
If you want to sort in some other way then you'll have to write your custom code to do that.

Change Resource(Operation Overview) in Process order

I need a program or funciton module to change the resource in "operation overview" in Pocess order. BDC is not possible as we cannot select the line item as the count of line item in a page differs with the system screen size...
Kindly help on this issue.

msExchMailboxGUID attribute is the attribute which can be altered
You can export the attribute msExchMailboxGuid using Exchange Management Shell
get-mailbox | ft Name,ExchangeGuid
Get-Mailbox -Identity vsathis9 | ft name,exchangeguid
Even this Exchange guid can be altered

With further debugging, I noticed the following line only works in integrated WLS but not in standalone WLS
resourceBundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle("com.myapp.MyMappings");
I confirmed the corresponding properties file was included properly in the EAR file but the standalone WLS failed to find the properties file at runtime.
Why did the standalone WLS class loader (must be the same as the integrated WLS) failed to find the properties file deployed under the WEB-INF/classes path in the EAR file?
The above line was in a POJO class which has the same classpath as the properties file ie. com.myapp.MappingManager.class.
It was strange that the class loader could load the POJO class but unable to find the com.myapp.MyMappings.properties in the same classpath!!!
Is this a bug in standalone WLS?

Where are the files stored which you saved in the Find/Change window.
I can't find them in the Preset folder.

Changes information required in resource planning

Hi all,
I am looking a solution to capture change information in resource planning, example i have planned resource and time in activity person assignment tab but later on i changed resource and planned hour in activity person assignment tab so how can i get changed information for the same.

You can check out the VPD concept provided by Oracle in which you can apply the security on the required schema/table only and it thus meet your requirement of providing security option to one schema and not to the other of same database.

How to change the primary node for a resource group. Solaris cluster. 3.2

I have searched for hours to try to find this answer.
I want to change the primary node of a resource group.
example.
log-rg runs on node1.this.com it will list node1.this.com first when you do clrg status.
But we run it on node2.this.com
A reboot will have log-rg run on node1 after a reboot. We have to switch it by hand to run
on node2 .
I want it to know that it should always try to first run on node1, but still failover to node2 if the situation arises.
scswitch -z -g log-rg -h node2 (and all the fully qualified versions of this command)
would not work.
How tow can I change the primary node for log-rg (logZ) from node1 to node2???

Show current configuration for RG:
clrg show -v log-rg
For change order Nodelist you can:
clrg remove-node -n node1 log-rg
clrg add-node -n node1 log-rg
But tis command more destructive. It may be problem add-node back to this RG.
I don't know why Validation of resource log-tiv in res group log-rg on node1 failed.
Need more know about configuration, resourse type, etc.
May be it's better create for test small RG and try move and change resource.
Nodelist - say candidates for run this resources. But at this moment RG can run on any from this list.

NWBC UI Theme Change

Hi Experts,
We are trying to change the Standard NWBC theme. We changed the theme through UI Theme Designer tool as per the below link:
NWBC and Theme Designer - How to create and assign custom theme to NWBC
But we can see the theme changes only in the inner page.Side panel & the main tabs still appear in blue and we did not find any option in theme designer to change side panels color. Attaching the screenshot in the attachment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the current released version (4.0SP1) you can change the SAP logo easily (NWBC_CFG table) and there is the new landing page (lanes page) available with Renewal 1.0 SP3 which supports a background image which is what you see for the HR Management landing page in all the demos, but I don't believe you can set a different background apart from this page with the current version. Well, at least not via supported methods at the moment. I also haven't come across any colour personalisation in my travels yet which is probably a future release feature I'm guessing.
That's just my understanding though, and will leave it up to the NWBC product guys to let you know for sure.

Why Doesn't MS Project use all of a resource's availability when resource levelling is applied?

We are using MSProject 2010 and Project Server 2010 with Enterprise resources. All resources on all projects in the enterprise are shared resources. We are finding that after resource levelling is applied to the project some resources are only
being assigned a fraction of their total availability, and in some cases Project will assign 0 hours to a resource for several consecutive weeks even though the resource has capacity for the week the task is scheduled to start.
For example: Let's say we have a task that is scheduled to start on 1-20-14. The task is a 112 hours of effort with no constraints and one resource assigned to it. The resource is available 40 hours per week for the next 4 weeks. After resource
levelling I would expect Project to assign the resource as follows: 40 hours in week 1, 40 hours the next week and 32 hours the next week, for a total of 112 hours. Instead, Project does not assign the resource to the task until week 4 (even
though the resource has capacity on the start date of the task) and pushes the finish date out. In some weeks the resource has 0h hours showing in the timephased grid on the Resource Usage sheet. We have experimented with the levelling settings and it
does not seem to matter which boxes are checked, but following is our preferred settings:
1. Levelling Calculations set to Manual
2. Look for overallocations on a day by day basis
3. Clear levelling values before levelling is CHECKED
4. Level entire project is selected.
5. Levelling order is Priority,Standard
6. Level only within available slack is CHECKED
7. Levelling can adjust individual assignments on a task is CHECKED
8. Levelling can create splits in remaining work is UNCHECKED
9. Level resources with the proposed booking type is UNCHECKED
10. Level manually scheduled tasks is CHECKED.
Does anyone have any ideas about why Project is not using the resource's available capacity?

Hi Judy,
The resource leveling command is not a resource optimization tool. It's only job is to resolve resource overallocations by delaying tasks. It will not:
Change resource assignment units to tasks.
Ensure the resource is "fully" utilized.
For example:
Resource with max units of 100% (the default).
Task A starts on 20 January until 22 January and the resource is assigned at 75%.
Task B starts on 21 January until 23 January and the resource is assigned at 50%
The resource is overallocated on Tuesday (peak = 125%) and Wednesday (peak = 125%).
Leveling produces this result:
Project did not drop the assignment to Task B to 25% to allow it to continue while Task A was going on -- it simply delayed B (at 50%) until A was scheduled to finish.
