  • SLD Object Server name

    Hi,
    This is for PI 7.0.
    I got to http://<hostname>:50000/sld and choose <b>Administrator</b> link.
    On the right middle/bottom there is a Object Server name. This <b>Object Server</b> name is <b>localhost</b>. Where do I have to change it so I can see the actual host. I am expecting it to be a actual host name. My SAPLOCALHOSTFULL is set to full name.
    Please let me know if anybody has any idea about it.
    Regards.

    What do you mean by assumptions Mr. Ahmad?
    I have done the post installation steps for SLD and ran the template as well. They all finished successfully. Now as I said that it an AIX server, you can never open a SLD home page from the server. It has to be a windows based machine. I use my laptop to open the web pages of lot of SAP related stuff like /sld or /unseradmin etc. What I do is I type
    http://dpix100:50000/sld.
    Now you see from the above that I am not using localhost but rather an actual host to login.
    So I do not know what you mean by “are you working from ur local machine or working on XI server directly” because I can never work directly from XI server as far as opening a SLD page is concern.
    Now when you install XI on AIX/UNIX, by default it has localhost at lot of places. One has to change it. Read my last reply where I am saying how to change it and read the SDN link as well.
    My question is that I do not se that Object Server link on the Administrator page.
    Please reply if anybody has any idea about it.
    Regards.

  • Change Object Server in SLD after system copy and SLD move?

    Hello,
    we did the following:
    - we migrated the SLD to the production system in our landscape
    - we copied the NWDI to a new system
    - the old object server was named sapsrv88 (object server attribute in the SLD) which was the hostname of the old SLD server
    Do I have to change the object server attribute to the new hostname of the SLD? Does this have any influence on the software components that we allready developed?
    Thanks and best regards
    Jens

    Hello Jens,
    you can rename the object server - details you'll find in SAP note 935245
    When you rename it, the ID of the objects in the SLD is changed to the new ID, so normally you shouldn't have any problems with that.
    If you're unsure about it, you can backup your SLD content using "Administration => Content => Backup => All Instances" - that backs up everything under /sld/active
    or backup the software components you devoped using http://<hostname>:5<instance-no.>00/SCD/SCDownload
    Best regards

  • SLD Technical server name

    Hi,
    I work on CE 7.2 SP03, while configuring SLD in the initial step I entered Object Server Name as "ABC.PQR.XYZ" which is my server name. But when I go and see in the technical setting it shows host name as "ABC" and its not showing full name.
    Please suggest.

    Hi Patana,
    please check this note:
    #1172643 -- Error when setting the name of the SLD Object Server
    (http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1172643)
    ...this case, you must also refer to Note 935245. If you do not apply the patch, the valid value range is limited to letters, numbers and "_" (underscore), and the first character must not be a number.
    (The note 935245 is under rework right now so you cannot access it, but I believe the above mentioned note answers the question.)

  • LMDB - SLD "Source and target system have the same object server name"

    Hi,
    the system is a SM7.1 SP1
    For some reason (Object-Server-Name changed), the job that syncs the sld and lmdb cancels...
    I set the LMDB-Object-Server-Name to its original Name...
    Now i've deleted the sync-config in the solman_setup and try to start a new sync, but i get the following error, when i try to configure the source-system:
    'Source and target system have the same object server name: CISM318'
    But the names are different: 'SM3' (LMDB) and 'CISM318' (SLD)
    Any suggestions ?

  • SLD Parameter Object Server

    Hi!
    When I access http://<localhost>:50000/sld, then clicking on to Technical Landscape, I get an error "Please set the SLD Parameter Object Server first".
    I suspect that I haven't activated SLD.  So I searched on how to activate it and found this procedure, "Configuring and Activating System Landscape".
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/52/784641db92491de10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    <i>Procedure
    The SLD is part of the J2EE Engine. To activate and configure an SLD; you need to perform the following steps:
    1.  Execute the following URL to open the SLD start page: http://<host>:<port>/sld. <Host> and <Port> are the values for the associated J2EE Engine.
    2.  Choose Administration -- Server Settings.</i>
    The weird thing is that when I access SLD start page, I couldn't find "Administration" in it.

    Additional Info:
    I can also see a clickable link below that says, "Namespace: sld/active".
    When I click on it, a prompt comes out "Please start the SLD server first."

    If its just a java stack configuration for user management page of the java stack
    http://<servername>:50000/useradmin and give the user as many roles and permissions from there

  • Getting "An attempt is made to create or change an object ..." in one env.

    I have a colleague who wrote some JAX-WS client code using what WebLogic 10.3.3 provides out of the box. His code is creating a "wsse:Security" element by using SOAPFactory and SOAPElement and related classes. This has worked fine on a couple of dev boxes. They've now promoted the deployment to the next environment, and now the attempt to add the constructed "Security" element fails with:
    org.w3c.dom.DOMException: NAMESPACE_ERR: An attempt is made to create or change an object in a way which is incorrect with regard to namespaces.
    They have verified the problem environment is running the same version of the JDK and WebLogic, but they haven't yet confirmed they have the same WebLogic patches.
    I repeat, this is working fine on his development environment and on at least two development servers, and is having this problem on the next environment down the line towards production.
    I looked for some other experiences with this error, and the only substantive code suggestion I found from that was to add all the used namespaces to the envelope. He did that, but it didn't make a difference.
    The relevant block of code is the following (it fails on the last line):
                        SOAPEnvelope envelope = soapMsgContext.getMessage().getSOAPPart().getEnvelope();
                        SOAPFactory soapFactory = SOAPFactory.newInstance();
                        // WSSecurity <Security> header
                        SOAPElement wsSecHeaderElm = soapFactory.createElement(
                                  "Security",
                                  AUTH_PREFIX,
                                  AUTH_NS);
                        QName wsSecHdrMustUnderstandAttr = new QName("S:mustUnderstand");
                        wsSecHeaderElm.addAttribute(wsSecHdrMustUnderstandAttr, "1");
                        SOAPElement userNameTokenElm = soapFactory.createElement("UsernameToken",
                                  AUTH_PREFIX,
                                  AUTH_NS);
                        Name userNameTokenIdName = soapFactory.createName(
                                  "id",
                                  "wsu",
                                  "http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd");
                        userNameTokenElm.addAttribute(userNameTokenIdName, "Id-8zvykuwmK8yg6dxn3632nQJB");
                        SOAPElement userNameElm = soapFactory.createElement("Username",
                                  AUTH_PREFIX,
                                  AUTH_NS);
                        userNameElm.addTextNode(userName);
                        SOAPElement passwdElm = soapFactory.createElement("Password",
                                  AUTH_PREFIX,
                                  AUTH_NS);
                        Name passwdTypeAttr = soapFactory.createName("Type");
                        passwdElm.addAttribute(passwdTypeAttr, "http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-username-token-profile-1.0#PasswordText");
                        passwdElm.addTextNode(password);
                        userNameTokenElm.addChildElement(userNameElm);
                        userNameTokenElm.addChildElement(passwdElm);
                        // add usernametoken to Security header
                        wsSecHeaderElm.addChildElement(userNameTokenElm);
                        // create SOAPHeader instance for SOAP envelope
                        SOAPHeader sh = envelope.getHeader();
                        // add SOAP element for header to SOAP header object
                        sh.addChildElement(wsSecHeaderElm);
    -------------------------

    if it matters, after extensive gnarly debugging, we found the problem was this expression:
    new QName("S:mustUnderstand")
    When we changed this to properly specify the prefix and namespace, the environment it was failing on worked.
    What was odd about this is that other server environments seemingly using the same jars (we turned on verbose:class to verify this) had no problem with this code.
    What was really annoying about this problem is that the error message could have been much more informative. I'm sure the code reporting the error must have known it was this attribute that was having the problem, but it only gave us a very vague error message about the entire element we were creating, which had several sub-elements.

  • NWDI for the 04s preview fails with 'SLD name-server configuration error'

    After the installation, everything seems to work fine except that when I go to CMS, the links on the top seems to be hardcoded to point to http://pwdf3102:50100/dtr, even in the Domain Data. When I tried to change it to my local server, it keeps complaining about "Unexpected error; inform your system administrator: <Localization failed: ResourceBundle='com.sap.cms.util.exception.CMSExceptionMessages', ID='SLD name-server configuration error', Arguments: []> : Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key SLD name-server configuration error"
    Any suggestions on how to work around this? Thanks.

    Brian,
    Try to import the model file first by going to SLD->Administration->Import CIM Model. If the problem sticks, then try to remove the systems. The preview version has lots of pre-exist system name in the technical system, which you can find giving errors since they're not reachable. So you can remove them from SLD (Home->Technical Systems) if they are preventing you from procceeding.
    You need to go to http://server:port/dtr/system-tools/administration/NameServerConfiguration to update the name server as well.
    Hope this helps...

  • Problem when importing SLD objects

    HI,
    I am trying to export and import SLD objects from Dev to Prod. For that I have studied weblogs and following the below procedure:
    to transfer SLD objects:
    Export the Business system in SLD of DEV server
    Select the Business system and click export button, then download file and saving to a local machine.
    and importing
    go to adminstration - > import the file
    now while importing the file on the production server, it is displaying " The target namespace of special import has already one or more data, import may corrupt the data". Below that two buttons Cancel import and Import anyway.
    what to do at this stage?? shall I import in this way??
    Please suggest me how to proceed....
    thanks in advance,
    anil

    Hi Satish,
    Have you already defined a business system with the same namespace in the Prod SLD??

  • Use a dynamic list of email addresses to email a report via Business Objects Server 11

    Post Author: wolfgang666
    CA Forum: General
    I use Business Objects Server version 11 to distribute reports via email but was asked if there was a way to only send the reports to those people listed in the report (which changes daily) instead of the entire distribution list. I can create a list of email addresses as a variable within the report but can't find any way to pass it to the Business Objects server "To:" field located in the destination screen. I would expect to see some option for sending to some value located in the report but alas no such option is evident. This seems like a feature the product should be capable of doing as it is so basic. Any other way to do this that anybody can think of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Matt Frazier

    Hi Alan,
    The simplest thing would be to simply use the Import Wizard to create a BIAR file and then back up the required CR's and instances to the BIAR file. So for instance you would use the "Import Folders and Objects" option. So the source system would be the system you are decomissioning and the Destination would be the BIAR file. Once that is done you can use the BIAR file to import the report content into another system in the future.

  • Transport landscape problem (cannot change the object)

    Hi All,
    I have problem to change my object in the integration repository.
    Initially, i only have 1 XI server (dev and prod), until certain level that i have to add additional server for development. So i just install new xi in new box (fresh). and export the repository object form production and import into this new box.
    But the problem is i can't change all the object. is that any workaround to change the configuration so i can use my nex box become development and later on transport back all the changes to original production box.
    Appreciate if you can give me some advise.
    Thank you and Best Regards
    Fernand

    Hi,
    If you need to change anything in repository
    you need to click on the software component in IR
    and at the bottom of the screen you will find two checks
    that will allow (or not) you to change objects
    if you want to change anything in communication channel
    you just need to go to change mode
    you can change anything in ID
    Thanks

    We've placed a SR but haven't had any suggestions from Novell yet - we're soon going from calm to panic as we are planning to move from test to production in two weeks...

  • Sld objects transportation

    Hi
    Here I have some doubts in mind.
    In case of file transportation system how the SLD objects are imported from DEV and exported to QA ?? Suppose if we are going to use another application system in QA how to tackle this situation ?? Here another application system means we have technical system and on top of that we have business system. So here probably here we are going to change only technical system name right ?? plz correct me if I am wrong. Then only new application system is going to point to our scenario.
    In case of transporation using CMS how we do that ?? Becaue here everything is automated  how we are going to tackle the situation if we are goint to use another application system in  QA ??
    thanks
    kumar

    hi,
    >>>>In case of file transportation system how the SLD objects are imported from DEV and exported to QA ??
    first of all SAP recommeds to use only one SLD (production)
    so you create all objects there
    >>>>have technical system and on top of that we have business system
    you're right business systems change per landscape
    (for example DEVCLNT100 can be QATCLNT500 on test system)
    but it's only the case with integration directory objects
    so all you need to do is to define transport targets in SLD
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ef/a21e3e0987760be10000000a114084/content.htm
    and if you export and import system names will change automatically
