Changing the display names of objects in the JTree

Hi All;
Is there a possibility of changing the display name of the nodes in JTree? I mean not the actual name of the JTree object, but only the display name? Is there any method available for that?
Your help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Regards Madumm

If your tree node object has application-specific complexity, you should define a custom tree node class and a renderer for that. Or if you just could use DefaultMutableTreeNode, call setUserObject() method with a new String.

• How to change 'captured' display name?

How can I view, and more importantly edit, a 'captured' display name?
I can view and change the display name I made for the contact entry in the address book, but cannot view, much less edit, the 'captured' display name (I looked at the address book using 'Notepad' and can see the entry of the 'captured' display name).
This causes problems when I start entering the person's name since the 'captured name' often shows up.
Scenario:
(1) Person's name = John Doe; Original email address = [email protected]; First message received from original email address had a 'captured'/'sent' display name of 'John Doe'; I created and edited the contact entry / address card and explicitly entered 'John Doe';
(2) Person now has a new primary email address = [email protected], but wants to keep original email address; With the new, primary email address, I edited the original contact entry / address card and change the display name to 'John Doexx' (keeping the original email address); I created a new contact entry / address card with a display name of 'John Doe' and entered the new primary email address.
(SITUATION) When I create an email message and start to enter the name 'John Doe', several names are listed. In sequence, the consists of the first (i.e. 'original') address card up with the display name of 'John Doe', then the second ('new') address card with the display name of 'John Doe', and then the 'original' address card (again) with the display name of 'John Doexx'.
Bottom line, I need to change the 'captured' display name for the first address card so it matches the display name I entered. Alternatively, TBird should ignore 'captured' display names if a display name is explicitly entered.
P.S. This questions/issue does not involve a concern about the name actually displayed in the message, although that too should be addressed.

In the '''address book''' click on the '''contat''' then right click choose '''properties''' that page where you in put the mane of the contact and email address there is a check box which when checked '''Always prefer display name over message header''' Try this and let me know if it works

• How to change the display name for Gmail aliases?

I have a Gmail account with multiple aliases. They look like this:
Joe User <[email protected]> (Primary)
Support <[email protected]> (Alias)
Billing <[email protected]> (Alias)
Works great. I'm trying to set up Apple Mail on my new MacBook to support the aliases as well. I am able to input the e-mail aliases, but the display names for all are 'Joe User' which defeats the purpose of having the aliases.
I have to imagine I can do this. Can someone help me out?

• Changing the display name of project file folders for TOC

I'm interested in changing the display names of the project file folders for my TOC. For example, I want to name the folder "01-intro" so that it is short and lowercase. But I'd like the TOC to say "Introduction to the System." I know I can manually rename the folder in the TOC either through its properties or by right-clicking => Rename, but I auto-create the TOC occasionally and I don't want to have to rename every folder every single time.
Does anyone know if there is a way to set a persistent property for the folder so that its display name in the TOC is different? I am using RoboHelp 9. I saw an option called "Detail" in the properties of the WebHelp layout in RoboHelp 8 that seems like it may have done that, but I no longer see this property in RoboHelp 9.
Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I think the lack of response confirms that if you are going to use Auto Create, you have to accept the way it is.

• Why does the display name in older messages change if I update my address book for that E-mail address?

I have recently installed Thunderbird 24.5.0 after upgrading a WinXP machine to Win7. I have discovered a strange problem with older mail that was imported from Outlook Express 6.
The pastor of my church uses a generic E-mail address <[email protected]>. This address belongs to the position, not to an individual. We recently had a new pastor come to the church, and I updated my entry for this E-mail address to reflect the new person's name. This is fine for new mail sent since the new person arrived, but Thunderbird has also applied the new name to older mail from the previous pastor. This is very confusing, since the current pastor could not have sent mail from that address prior to her start date.
How can I get Thunderbird to stop changing the Display Name in archival messages that were sent by the previous pastor prior to September 01, 2013? I have not encountered this situation before using Netscape 4.x Mail, Outlook Express 6, and Windows Mail (Vista version).

Of course it does. It looks for a match between the sender's email address and a Contact in your address book. You've edited the Display Name for this account so it gets applied to any message with that email address if that's how your Address Book is configured.
In the Contact card for this address, you can tell it whether or not to use the "real" email address within the message, or the Display Name from your Address Book. Telling it to use the name found in the message ''might'' resolve this, but it depends on how the sender has formatted it. If he includes his name then Thunderbird should be able to resolve it, and you just add both configurations to your Address Book as two separate Contacts, rather than modifying the existing entry.
However, in this situation you're using the same email address for two distinct people, so Thunderbird may not be able to know who sent the old messages. If both have sent using "rector@stpeterscobourg.org" without any personalization then Thunderbird won't be able to differentiate between them.
I have to say that I haven't recently tried using different display names with the same email address, so I don't know for sure if TB can use the display name constructively. If there's nothing in the old messages to tell you which sender wrote them, then TB can't do anything about it.

• How can I change the display name of a contact in my address book?

If I open one of my contacts in the Address Book, the display name is the name of the organization. I want it to be the last name of the individual. How can I change that?

Thank you for your reply. I realize from your answer that I didn't poise my question properly! If I have not entered anything in the 'Display name' field then the message header (i.e. the title of the business card) follows by default the name of the 'Organization'. I wanted to know if it's possible to change this so that the message header of the business card follows the 'Last name' of the person and not the name of the 'Organization'. Thank you!

• How can I change the display name when I call someone?

I recently gave a re-provisioned 8300 to a new employee. I wiped out the phone, and re-setup the phone in our exchange server to match the new user's settings.
The only problem he's having is that when he calls someone, the display name shows the previous users name as the person calling.
How do I change that?
Thanks in advance,

You don't say what model the device is, but if GSM, make sure the SIM card has not been edited to the preview name.

• Change the Display Name of sender

hi all,
I am sending email from SAP to outlook
I suppose the sender name is concatenated from the SAP account master(SU01) but it seems it is cache somewhere.
For example, the original name of my account is "Steve Jordan". I add "[From SAP]" in front to make it "[From SAP] Steve Jordan" through SU01. Then I send out an email through my account and I can see the updated name both in SOST and outlook
Later I change the "[From SAP]" to "[Don't reply]" in SU01. By doing this I am intended to make the sender name "[Don't reply] Steve Jordan". Then I send out new email. However, in SOST and outlook, what I see is still "[From SAP] Steve Jordan"
Please advise
Thanks

<train-stop>
<display-name>#{viewcontrollerbundle['trainlabel']}</display-name>

• How to chage the display name in SC browser for the custome fields?

Hi,
I created 2 custom fields for Shopping cart in SRM. How to chage the display name in SC browser for this custome fields?
Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
when you have defined your customer fields, you have created new fields in the CUF structures. The labels displayed on the SC screen come from the data element you have assigned to those cust fields in the include structure.
If you have used a std data element, then you can change its translation (attention, this will impact all structures, tables... abap objects using this data element).
If you have created a Z data element, then adapt its description accordingly.

• How to alter the display names of grouped items in a document library?

Very odd issue I want to sort items in a document library by the value in a field, that is no problem. The issue is I want them display NOT in alphabetical order for example I have a list that is grouped into 3 groups (Cases, Forms and Support). When you
look at the page they are grouped in alphabetical order from top to bottom, I want them to show up as (Cases, Support and Forms). I tried creating column with with a value 1,2 or 3 with the "3" value attached to "Forms" items and the "2"
to the "Support" item them sort per Grouped value and that works BUT the grouped names appears as "1" "2" or "3". I need them to show as (Cases, Support Forms).
I was wondering if there is syntax to alter the display name while editing within Designer similar to the syntax used to change the display name of a long hyperlink when quoting it in an email or forum submission??
I want:
<FieldRef Name= "Grouping"/> to diplay the three groups by names other than the values in that column, the display names.
