Changing Variant Pop up window name in Portal for BI reports

Hi All,
I have integrated Bex analyzer with portal, from which when i select variant it will open pop window to select options.. here i want to change the pop window name as " sale order report name itself. I have changed the name of the report and it is showing in internet explorer...
when i select variant...im getting Bex internet explorer name, instead of sales order report name.
Please suggest where can i change this settings in portal or BIW level.

Small pop up window inside a portal page

My portal page has one html portlet. I need to have a small pop-up window on this page which contains periodically changing messages(message is retrieved from a table in the database). The popup window should appear if the message inside the popup message has changed, otherwise it should not appear.
this is my code below:

I don't want to maintain duplicate portal pages -one with onLoad=window.open('popup') and the other page without the pop up.
Pls. suggest an alternate method. How can I pass parameters to the portal page and retrieve it in my portlet's javascript? Please let me know as I need it urgently.

Hi Lavanya. I have implemented the same.
Within my oracle tags, I'm using htp.print to produce the javascript for opening the window if it has not yet been viewed. It gets a bit confusing to produce one language syntax with another, but seems to work fine - you're kind of saved by pl/sql's single quote syntax vs. javascript double quotes!
Some improvements I'd like to make are for cases where the browser has cached the content (which tells the browser to open a popup window) and to produce a receipt when the user clicks "OK" in the popup, rather than when the page is delivered.
Let me know how it goes. Sounds like a common need - maybe we should get together and publish a new portal component! :^) Thanks, Luke.
My portal page is not generated from within my pl/sql. My code just calls the link which,in turn calls the portal page. The portal page contains a html portlet, and the popup window is opened from <body onLoad = window.open(.....)>
so, i cannot use htp.p here.

Pop-up windows from the portal showing address bar

Hi,
I am not sure where to post this thread, but here goes. My client has the CRM web UI which has been integrated into SAP Portal 7.3. I am not aware of how this is done as I am not familiar with CRM.
The issue being faced is that when a user tries to create a new opportunity etc, the pop-up window opens. But an address bar is seen in the pop-up. This was not appearing when they were on an earlier version of EP.
I am not sure where I should be looking to remove the address bar. Is this something related to the web UI and not the portal?

How do i change the pop down window size

hi,
my retina macbook pro is usually set at the second to highest option in display size.
at one point it was plugged into a 2nd monitor, and now, when it's not, when i'm using an app and want to download or save a file, the dialog window that pops down for choosing a save location is too tall, and goes below the window of the app, and off the bottom of the screen.
i've changed this a number of times by changing the display size to a higher resolution, then resizing the pop down menu, and changing the pop down menu again, but every now and then it changes back to being too tall.
can i change this more permanently?

Yes, I'd like to raise the Tool Presets panel by Right Clicking using the Cintique pen.
In just the same way as I currently do to access the Brushes panel.

i got the same problem.(cursor not change for pop-up windows) and because i m not an expert in internal html code i did try several solutions to fix it.
The easiest (but also even longer if u need to do severals) is to create a button (withs 2 overflight changing pics) with "inserer", "image survolée"
the "image survolée" can be linked to a pop-up window with the correct effect. To do so highlight the "expected new link to" and on right side task bar ad a "comportement" named "ouvrir la fenetre du navigateur" and optionally choose the size and windows available function of the pop-up. It works even if u need to proceed first with an overflight changing button.
The result is longer to obtain and not absolutely perfect. So I guess it s only an help solution for a single mateer. i would be glad to get another solution with a text link rather than using the overflight button system. Technically it should be better, more efficient and faster to proceed with applying an html code that really makes the text appearing as a classic link to a new windows whatever pop up or full size window. Please let me know if u get further answer to fix this problem.

Hi, I have owned my t430s for now about 2 years without any major complaints recently I've had to use the fn + f5 function quite frequently, because of my poor internet connection. so that way i can reset which signal I want to choose because the default signal I am connected to is not mine. Size of the select value window in the portal for a query

Hi,
When I try to restrict the key figures structure in the portal (to select some key figures and hide others), the description of some key figures is truncated. It happens when the description of the key figure has been defined on several lines in the query designer.
Does anyone knows how to increase the size of the lines in the "select filter value" window in the portal?

There are certain actions even in the project that remains open that will close the opened, sized, and positioned Project Window.
Also
1. If you go to dual monitor system, typically the program does not remember the dual monitor setup when the project is saved closed and reopened.
2. If you use the project without a dual monitor system and save close project with the Preview Window open, sized, and positioned, when you re-open the project, the Preview Window is gone and would need to be reopened, sized, and positioned again.

Implementing portal for SAP Reports

Dear All,
we have SAP 4.7 E1.1 system. we are thinking to implement the portal with an objective of only allowing the users to access the production reports online.
we have both Stardard reports & Z reports. we are under the impression that we can start using portsl with in a week after installation with little integration and interfacing.
we are not really sure of this. if our purpose served as we thought.
do we need any customization or the development required for the Z Reports.
what would be the implementation effort we have to do for both standard and Z.
please advise.

Option1: Change each of your Z reports into a transaction code and then build an iView for the reports and then a role that contains the iViews.
Option 2: Create a role in PFCG which contains the reports. This will build transactions for you. Make a single iView in the portal that launches transaction SMEN. All done.

HT2693 My computer will not allow me to install itunes. i have changed my pop-up setting. ive been trying for 2 hours. help!?

I had itunes downloaded but i needed to update it inorder to transfer music to my iphone 3g. It would not let me, after several trys i just uninstalled it. then i went back and tryed to download the newer version. I clicked download now and it went to the page saying it has downloaded. So then i searched the progams and it was not there. At the bottom of that enternet page it asks if having trouble click here. I clicked and it said to change pop-up settings to medium, so i did, still does not work. i change it to low, still nothing. I have been trying for 3 days now. please help.

How do I change the "Open with Windows Wordpad Application (default)" for a DOCX file to I guess, Microsoft Word?

I think the "Wordpad Application (default) got entered some time ago while trying to open a DOCX file. I now have a compatibility pack downloaded for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Formats for my Office 2003 and I think I could open a DOCX file now but can't get this Wordpad application removed and changed to another application to open it, which I think would probably be Word or if someone has another suggestion.

I can't get "Use Microsoft Word (default)" to appear as an Action option. Only Windows WordPad application, Media Center, Internet Explorer, iTunes, Media Player Classic, Nero, Windows Photo, Picasa, Windows Calendar and wWindow Media Player appear as choices. I don't know how to add Microsoft Word as a choice. Maybe the second part of the instructions in your reply "Adding download actions" would solve this but I don't understand the instruction starting with #1. I don't know how to go about doing what it says to do.
I don't think it makes any difference, but I do have Office XP instead of 03 as I stated in my first question.

Cannot download pdf document from a website; pop-up window won't open for download

I go to travelweekly.com to download my magazine. I click on the download link provided. It asks if I want pdf download or open offline. I click on pdf download, and nothing happens. I have pop-up blocker checked in the options, but have added travelweekly.com/* as exception. I even unchecked the pop-up blocker to enable all pop-ups. Still won't work. I have over 30 or these, so I know it used to work. Also, this program has become a very slow dog! I've been forced back to IE!!!

Language settings in Portal for WAD reports

In WAD 3.x when we execute the report in the URL we can see language =EN, (https://inls51556188a:6001/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=ZLUMM_Q100_TPL01)so even when the user browser settings are in German still the report gets displayed in English where as when the user login in German and execute the report in WAD 7.0 it displaying the techical names for text data and infoobjects names as there is no text data maintained in German.
Is there a way to fix the language in the iView of the WebTemplates directly in the Portal.If so how can this be done?

HI,
Now there are two options that you can use to over come this:
1. If the concern is just about the query related then you can do 1 more thing. In the query designer login- with language german, Open your query, you will see the technical names of the chars and key figures (calculated, restricted and formula, selection's as well), now here u need to maintain the description for each of them in english (i.e. simply type the text in general tab for each of them) and save the query.
2. There is table for info-object's text manintainece you need to maintaine the description of info-object's used in your report's in english with language key set to German.

Change the width and height of Landscape Layout for a report in 10G

Hi,
I'm new to reports and when i built the report in report builder 10g, the layout orientation was 'Landscape', hence I assumed that it'll be a landscape layout.
However, the width and height fields of the main section are 11 and 20 respectively. However, the height should ideally be 8.5. When i try to change it I get the following error message :
Layout canvas must remain large enough to fit layout objects.
Could you please tell me how to change the height of this landscape layout to 8.5 from 20.
The report has several main frames within a repeating frame, since the same report has to run multiple times.
Is it possible to have a repeating page across pages (crossing the horizontal margin) and hence have some of the main frames move down to the next page. I'm trying to do this to then be able to reduce the height of the main section of the report to 8.5. Its not working though because I'm getting the following error :
REP 1814 : Report cannot be formatted. Object "vertically" can never fit R_Main (the name of the repeating frame enclosing all objects)

Check Button Not Working on Portal for BI report

We have Vendor account group variable when I enter any random value and click on check its not working its not giving message as ' Invalid Input' on Portal ( Variable is single input optional variable) same Check Button Working in RSRT .
And For all other Infoobjects ( Plant , Profit center) check Buitton is working on Port as well in RSRT.
Please suggest.
