Changing x axis range in charts

I have a line chart where the last entry on x axis is the "now" function.
It will not display today's date as last category
Any help

Mike,
It works fine here. Does your current date display properly in the Table where the =NOW() formula is?
Have you tried stretching out your table to make more room for labels?

  • Changing the Axis Names in Chart

    Hi All,
Do we have an option to change the name of the axis in the chart ? I have 3 bar type charts, instead of the common field names I want the custom names to be displayed. Is it possible, please suggest.
    Thanks
    Natraj

    Hi,
Yes this is possible, if you go to 'Edit View' on your chart. Just under your report title there is a small button, if you hover over it you'll see the label is "Axis titles and labels". It's displayed as a small chart icon with an 'A' in it.

    Hi Chris,
That is a Category graph (2-D Line).
A Scatter Plot will allow you to change the Scale and Steps on the X axis.
Click on the Chart (Graph) and Format Panel > Axis
To get a Connection Line or a Trendline on the Scatter Plot, Format Panel > Series
For a Scatter Plot, put your X and Y data in Header Columns (or Header Rows).

  • Graph control causes general protection fault when changing axis range (64bit)

    Hello,
i wrote a 32bit application which i'm porting to 64bit now and stumbled across a problem with the graph control.
The Graph axsis are set to editable so that the user can change the axis range manually at runtime. The 32bit version has no problem here, but the 64bit  version is crashing  with a general protection fault at the source line with RunUserInterface().
Is there a compiler option/value or something i should be aware of when swithing to 64bit that should be set?
Or is this just a problem with the code of the control?
    I tried it with LabWindows v13.0.2 (278)  and v13.0.1, running under Windows 7 64bit.
    Thanks.

    Hello, danouj!
Thank you for reporting this issue to us!
However, information you provided is still unsufficient for us to determine the background of this bug.
Please also provide the following details, so that we can identify the issue and investigate whether a workaround for this problem exists:
From my understanding, when porting the application to 64-bit, you also performed some code changes to your CVI application. What are these code changes?
If you run the 64-bit version of your application without these code changes, does the application also crash?
What is the address of this crash?
It would also be very useful, if you can send us a copy of a minimal snapshot of your project application, in which the problem still occurs, for us to investigate the issue.
You can upload the sources at ftp://ftp.natinst.com/incoming

  • How do you extend a chart's x-axis range?

    Hello,
Is it possible to extend a chart's x-axis range to ten seconds, rather than the default five seconds?
I've attached a simplified portion of my code, which contains a DAQ Assistant connected to a chart. I've played around with the chart history length, sampling frequency, and sample numbers; however the chart's x-axis range remains a constant five seconds. I feel this is a relatively fundamental concept, but it eludes me.
    Settings currently set to:
    Sampling Frequency: 2k Hz
    Samples Read: 200
    Acquisition Mode: Continuous sampling
    Chart Update Mode: Strip
    Chart History Length: 1024
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you. I feel foolish as this was trivial:
    For those who don't know:
    Right-click the chart
    Select X-Scale->Properties
Under the Scales tab, enter your time range in the minimum and maximum boxes.

  • Fixing the range of data series axis of analytical chart

    Hi all,
I developed the analytical chart and every thing is working fine. I set the value of property range of analytical chart to 'fixed' but that range still varying basing the data displayed.

    Hi pscorca,
According to your description, you want to the height of horizontal bars to be fixed in the Range bar chart when the number of values in category groups change.
In Reporting Services, when creating a chart, the width and height of the chart is  fixed. Height of horizontal bars is a percentage based on height of the chart, so when the number of values in category groups increases, the height of horizontal bars
decreases. To fix this issue, we need to dynamically increase the height of the chart. Please refer to the following steps:
In design mode, click and select the chart area.
In properties window, in chart section, click the button at right of DynamicHight.
In Expression text box, we can dynamically change chart height according to parameter. Type the expression and preview the chart to see if the height of the horizontal bars is appropriate.
For more information about Charts with dynamic height, please refer to the following document:

  • Value range(column chart): management cockpit

    Hi friends,
how can i put value range condition in column chart. my situation is like this
    I have 10 employees with expereinces 4.1(i.e 4 yrs 1 month),5.5, 1.2, 0.5, 3.5, 0.2, 4, 6, 7 and 8.
I want to present in column chart in x-axis like <1 yrs, 2-4,5-6,>7 and in y-axis count.
How can i achieve this. I maintained calculated keyfigues(for <1 yrs, 2-4,5-6,>7) on key figuer total experience and, in bi report i'm getting correct output. Even total experience is also calculated key figure and perfectly viewing this value in cockpit. But in managment cockpit, remaining calculated keyfigues(<1yrs,2-4,5-6,>7) i'm not getting. So i want to prefer to set value range in chart.
    pls suggest me.
    thanks,
    raju

    Hello  Raju,
You can achieve this by simply using a User defined Periodization & Time Variable.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60ep1/helpdata/en/1b/3131375fc9342ae10000009b38f839/frameset.htm
    Defining Periodizations
    1.     To define a periodization, choose Periodization in the dialog structure.
    2.     Choose  to switch to change mode.
    3.     Choose New Entries.
    4.     In the Periodization column, enter a name for the periodization (up to four characters).
    5.     In the Fiscal Year Variant column, choose the fiscal year variant on which you want to base the periodization. (The periodization itself is based on periods of the fiscal year variants.)
    6.     In the Long Text column, enter a descriptive name for the periodization.
    7.     Save your entries and return.
    8.     In the list of periodizations, select the periodization you just created.
    9.     Choose Interval in the Dialog Structure.
    10.     Choose New Entries.
    11.     In the Interval No. column, enter a sequential number for each period to be defined, starting with "1".
    12.     Specify the left time limit (= Start column) and the right time limit (= End column) of the range by entering the respective period of the fiscal year variant on which it is based.
Eg: In your case you follow this
                   Start Column          End Column
    Period 1(<1 yrs)           1               12
    Period 2(2-4 yrs)                     13               36
    Period 3(5-6 yrs)                     37               60
Period 4(>7 yrs)          61               specify the no. of months you want to calculate for
    13.     Save your entries and return
In the Cockpit-Frame-Design screen for the mesures(KPI) on the Y-axis you select the check box of Periodization and select this User defined Periodization created by you. You click on the aggregation box too to get the cummulative value for the defioned periods.
Hope this helps. Revert incase of any query or let me know if it doesnot work as I have tried this with quarters and its working fine in my case.

  • Positioning the label of a bar of a range bar chart - SSRS 2012

    Hi,
is it possible to center the label of a bar belonging to a range bar chart, in order to position it inside the bar area?
    Thanks

    Hi pscorca,
If I understand correctly, you want to set the label to be displayed in the middle of bar series. To achieve this goal, we can use the BarLabelStyle property. For more details, please see:
Right-click the bar series, and then select ‘Show Data Labels'.
Click the bar series to open Property grid window.
Expand CustomAttributes node, then change the property of BarLabelStyle to ‘Center’.

  • ScatterGraph does not allow manually editing axis range at runtime

I'm using both ScatterGraph and WaveFormGraph controls in a Winforms VS2010 application.  I have the axis interaction mode set to EditRange.  The WaveFormGraph control allows editing the axis range by clicking on the end labels for the axis and changing them.  The ScatterGraph control does not even though the documentation that I have read indicates it should.  The axis mode does not seem to be the issue as I have changed between Fixed and AutoScaleLoose (which is not the selection to have while displaying changing data if you want your manually-entered range to be maintained).  I tried a new project with a ScatterGraph control with default settings and verified that it does not allow you to edit the axis range.  Is there a way to change settings to allow you to manually edit a ScatterGraph range in this way at runtime?
    Thank you!

    Hi Lybro,
Have you enabled the "EditRange" InteractionMode of the scatter graph object? There are two places that the interaction mode is set, one for the axis and one for the scatter graph, both need to be enabled for the editing to work. I just tested this with Measurement Studio 2013 and it is working. Let me know if this helps.

  • Want a constant time axis in waveform chart

    hello,
my time axis in waveform chart is changing .how can i keep it constant say 1-100 .the whole point of this is to make waveform chart luk like a CRO.please need help.
    thanks in advace
    naveen.rabelli

I don't think what you're asking for is possible, due to the nature of the chart - it accepts Y values and inserts the X value automatically. Offhand, I can think of 3 solutions -
The bad one - constantly change the offset by moving it backwords. You will probably have flickering.
The workaround one - Paste a text box over the first number saying 1 and another over the second number saying 100.
The probably most correct one - Use a XY graph. Just have a 1D array of 100 elements and append it to a second 1D array with 1..100. Wire the 2D array into the graph terminal.

  • Invert Axis in a Chart with Report designer

    Hi Gurus
Do you know the proccess or option to change (invert) the axis in a chart with Report Designer or in a table with Query Designer?

    Hi Jose,
I guess this will help you...
    Check here.....
    Rotating Charts
    Use
You can change the angle of the first segment of a pie chart, doughnut, polar chart, radar chart or split pie chart, thus rotating the chart clockwise.
    Procedure
           1.      Select the property ®  Starting angle.
           2.      Enter the number of degrees by which you want to rotate the circle or rings clockwise.
The first category at the top of the diagram begins with zero degrees, and the one at the bottom begins with 180 degrees.

  • Get Axis range for 3D Ribbon Plot

When I plot something in a 3D Ribbon Plot with autoscale enable, the scale ranges (minimum and maximum) are automatically set in the proper way.
But after that, I can't read their values.
See the attached example: if I read Axis Range Maximum, I get 10 that is the value tha £D graph had before I plot the data.

Yeah, I create CARs for the bug I read from this forum. Sorry, I didn't standed up saying this is CARed or I cannot fix it for some reason. I dive more.
These controls are built by pure G code. So it has limitation if its sub-components control's property/event is not exported from VI server/event structure or XControl Framework does not support.
For the issue in this thread (range one), it can behave same as native XY Graph. For performance, do you mean it delays the interaction (rotate, click) or plot updates slow. I improved their performance somehow in LV2011. How big your input matrix is and what is the update frequency?
"... and there ws great rejoicing!" [Monty Python, after the minstrals death]
Well that is news to me.
I would like to invite you to post the CAR numbers so that we can track the bugs and fixes.
Simply posting those numbers will go a a long way toward changing my impression of the 3D graph issues. If you keep them secret we will be left to believe the issues are not being addressed, which has been the traditional viewpoint of users outside of NI. The Champions worked to change that attitude and to a large extent I feel the general outlook has been changing due to the public bug list that is no published for various LV versions.
The CAR numbers also give us a handle we can reach for when the apps we deliver to our customers screw up and we have to shrug our shoulders and tell them "When ever NI feels like it."

  • How to Change Graph Axis

    hi all!
Does somebody know how to change the Axis of a BIBeans Graph in a JavaApplication? i want to change the dimension which appears in the graph with one of the page dimensions. is that possible? how?

    1. You could use waveform chart and use the Property Node for changing X0.
    2. You could use Waveform Grpah and actually wire in BOTH X & Y values.
    3. You could use the Offset Proprty Node of the waveform graph, as shown in the attached vi.
    Hope it helps!
