Channel ORA_AUX_DISK_1

I use Windows XP, oracle 10g 10.2.0.1 version.
I got the errors as below. On my Auxiliary, I don't have F:\ diver. How do I trigger the problem.
channel ORA_AUX_DISK_1: reading from backup piece F:\FLASH_RECOVERY\BACKUP\DATAFILE_2244_1.BAK
ORA-19870: error reading backup piece F:\FLASH_RECOVERY\BACKUP\DATAFILE_2244_1.BAK

failover to previous backup

Are you attempting a DUPLICATE DATABASE ?
You have to copy the BackupPieces from the Primary to the Auxiliary before you attempt to run the DUPLICATE DATABASE. By default, the expected location is the same as on the Primary.
See Task 6 at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14191/rcmdupdb.htm#i1006596

    Thanks for your responses?

    RMAN needs access to the backup sets. You can try:
    - running RMAN on the target machine whilst still duplicating to the auxilliary box;
    - copying/mounting your backup sets to the same path on the auxilliary box;
    - copying/mounting your backup sets to a different path on the auxilliary box and registering in RMAN;
    Details on versions, O/S, backup locations, channel specs would help.

  • RMAN unable to read backupset file during Cloning

    Hi,
    I'm performing cloning operation on windows to windows. On target I have taken backup through rman using recovery catalog. I've taken fresh backup of database along with archivelogs and delete the obsoleted one using rman recovery catalog repository.
    When I connect to Target,Recovery catalog and auxiliary instance after executing some commands RMAN gives error that it is unable to read backupset file. What could be the reason for this. I'm posting the Error Portion of RMAN listing please see it and tell me what could be the reasons as I have taken fresh backups and it seems that it is unable to read that particular backup.

    If your RMAN backup exist on target server path.
    Target Server: C:\Oracle\RMAN_BACKUP\
    Put it on the same location in the auxiliary server.
    Auxiliary Server: C:\Oracle\RMAN_BACKUP\
    During cloning also connect with your recovery catalog as you are using recover catalog for the target server.

    Hello Guys,
    Both of my database are 10gR2 and Linux is the operating system.
    I am trying to create a standby database for my production database.
    I have matched the directory structure of primary and standby database and there is no conflict. Directory permissions are also set.
    After taking the rman backup from production database when i connect auxiliary database from production. I run this command to duplicate database and create standby database.

    Kind of hard without seeing everything but based on this :

    What I did tilll now:-
    1) Created a database MYDB1 in archive mode
    2) Created one tablespace, user and 1 table in DB
    3) Registered the MYDB1 in RMAN Db.
    4)Created a Pfile from MYDB1 database and changed db value and other values of MYDB1 to MYDB2(Database name to be duplicate)
    5)Created a password file
    6)Startup MYDB2 in NOMOUNT stage.
    7) At RMAN prompt I have done below things to but i have getting the error

  • TSPITR - Recover a Dropped Tablespace aborting due dependency over XDB.

    I found an issue using TSPITR to Recover a Dropped Tablespace when XML DB (XDB) is installed on a different tablespace from "SYSAUX".
    During execution of TSPITR RMAN use Data Pump to export/import Tablespace Metadata as Data Pump has dependency over XDB views and related objects and XDB is installed on a set of tablespace not included on dummy database then EXPDP fails.
    Errors raised ORA-39123, ORA-00376, ORA-01110.
    I didn't found any limitation about XDB location on documentation or MoS.
    This looks like a Oracle Bug.
    See this:

    RMAN>If I drop tablespace SOE and XDB on Target database and try to restore both (SOE,XDB) export will succeeds but during IMPORT Metadata RMAN will faill due XDB dependency.
    In my view, they (mean Oracle) need find way to include XDB Tablespace at DUMMY database only to export (EXPDP) Metadata purposes.
    If someone get a workaround for this error will be grateful.
    P.S: This is not a Production environment and will soon open a SR on Oracle Support.

    Hi Michael,
    I did not find solution to use TSPITR to recover dropped tablespace if XML DB is installed in a non-default tablespace (i.e outside of SYSAUX).
    As far I could understand, the only way to perform this RESTORE is using the old fashion. By creating clone database excluding all unnecessary tablespace, exporting and importing metadata from desired tablespace manually.
    Since Oracle has not solved the issue I created my own workaround.
    @All
    If someone is able to use TSPITR to restore dropped tablespace when XDB is installed in a non-default tablespace, please let me know!!!
    The procedure below is supported on All Oracle Version since 10.1 until 11.2.
    I DON'T RECOMMEND to create AUXILIARY (clone) database using the same server from TARGET because you can damage the TARGET database.
    On this example I'm using same server.
    See this example:
    ### ON TARGET DATABASE
    SQL> select count(1) SEG_COUNT from dba_segments where tablespace_name='SOE';
      SEG_COUNT
            32
    SQL> ! date
    Wed Dec 19 15:08:11 GMT-02:00 2012
    SQL> drop tablespace soe including contents and datafiles;
    Tablespace dropped.
    ### CHECK TABLESPACE TO BE EXCLUDED FROM RESTORE
    SQL> select tablespace_name
        from dba_tablespaces
         where tablespace_name not in ('SYSTEM','SYSAUX','UNDOTBS1','SOE','XDB','TEMP');
    TABLESPACE_NAME

    AUDIT_AUX

    Hello;
    Generally for the connection to work you need to add something like this to the listener.ora file :
    (SID_DESC =
        (global_dbname = STANDBY.hostname)
        (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2)
        (sid_name = STANDBY)
    )You should stop and start the listener on the Standby after adding this. Also your tnsnames.ora must be correct on both the primary and the Standby.
    Also you need an INIT for the Standby side :
    STANDBY.__db_cache_size=343932928
    STANDBY.__java_pool_size=4194304
    STANDBY.__large_pool_size=4194304

    1. New Standby start NOMOUNT on new password file. ( On Oracle 11 you must copy and rename the file from Primary server )
    2. Hard coded listener on new Standby server.
    3. Correct tnsnames.ora files.
    4. Correct duplicate command.

  • Error while cloning database to a different host

    Hi,
    I'm using rman to clone a database from host1 to host2. The directory structures on host2 is different from host1 for the datafiles and control file.
    I have changed the init.ora file on host2 to reflect the new path for the control files.
    Within the run command I have:
    run{
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 1 TO '/u04/oradata/AUX/system01.dbf'; (for all the datafiles I have this statement)
    DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO AUX
    LOGFILE
    GROUP 1 ('/u04/oradata/AUX/redo01a.log',
    '/u05/oradata/AUX/redo01b.log') SIZE 100M
    GROUP 2 ('/u04/oradata/AUX/redo02a.log',
    '/u05/oradata/AUX/redo02b.log') SIZE 100M
    GROUP 3 ('/u04/oradata/AUX/redo03a.log',
    '/u05/oradata/AUX/redo03b.log') SIZE 100M;
    When I run the command I get the error as:

    The message seems to be clear, did you check the file permissions on host2? You cannot create undotbs01.dbf, because the existing permissions don't allow it.

  • Error while duplicate database from one server to another server

    Hi there,
    I am practicing duplicate database from one single database server to another server. Hardware and driver path on 2 machines is the same. Here are my steps:
    --------------------- Clone site:
    1. modify listener.ora with content:
    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost.localdomain)(PORT = 1521))
    ADR_BASE_LISTENER = /u01/app/oracle
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = orcl)
    (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1)
    (SID_NAME= orcl)
    ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER = ON
    2. stop and start listener again, message show like :
    Service “orcl” has 1 instance(s).
    Instance “orcl”, status UNKNOWN, has 1 handler(s) for this service…
    The command completed successfully
    3. create pfile from spfile.
    4. shutdown and startup nomount with pfile is new pfile create from step 3.
    --------------------------------------- Source site
    1. modify tnsnames.ora with content like:
    VVCOREDB =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost.localdomain)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (CONNECT_DATA =
         (SERVER = DEDICATED)
         (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
    2. run command from rman like these:
    rman> connect target sys@vvcoredb
    rman> target database Password:

    I think Peter is right. You are probably erroneously attempting to overwrite the original, source database.
    See: rman duplicate command fails?
    Virtually the same error message!

    Is your UNDOTBS is in FS "/data2/oradata/NUAT/undotbs01.dbf" ? Did you convert this FS to new FS name? First error seems to be issue with this.
    Second issue is seems to be you dont valid backup for the  SCN 714518081. Pls give us the restore script and also check whether you have valid backups.
