  • Chapter markers and buttons

i have created a track and assined chapters to each button and when it burns they don't work. when i simulate the dvd it works fine. in the log it says buttons 5, 6,7 &8 are inactive. this the second dvd of a 3 dvd set. the first one works fine. i just used it to creat the second one and reassined the markers and renamed the buttons. what has happened?

im not sure if this was the right way to do this but i made sure the 2 buttons on top of each other were assigned the same asset, and it worked.
originally i put a solid white bkgrnd with type set in photoshop, in the drop zone button in the black and white chapter index template provided for weddings. but it came out looking real bad on screen. so i made a simple button and placed it on top of a solid white tiff so the type would look good in the menu on screen.
whats the trick to make a 3 dvd set have the correct chapter names when jumping between chapters in dvd player. on a dvd player (for a tv) it dosent display the chapter name it just goes to the next chapter?

you can change the message control through the following path
    go to transaction spro
spro > logistic general > tax on goods movement > india > tools > message control.
from here you can change the message control.
but if you did not mention the material and chapter id combination the system wont ask you for the excise entry at the time of gr.

  • Material- chapter ID is not maintained system should give error message

    Dear All
Requirement is as that while creating the sale order & if the material- chapter id is not maintained then system should give error message saying that the combination is not maintained.
Client is using the TAXINN procedure.
I think in TAXINJ it works well.
Whether it can be done in TAXINN also through SD Module itself.cleint is using the automatic creation of excise invoice.
    Kindly help .
    with regards
    Rohit

    hi rohit,
For TAXINN procedure system will not throw it as an error.
if you want it to throw:
    use MV45AFZZ : USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT.
say your SAP system to compare  and check for the values in J_1IVCHID-J_1ICHID
if it is not equal to.
then throw an ERROR message against it when saving the document.

  • Error message encore cs5 end action can't execute on the final chapter point

Dvd plays great. Exported it as a mpeg 2-dvd,  video only. Audio separate as a .wav. imported video as a timeline, audio as an asset. Video is not transcoded.
But I have a sub menu, with 6 chapter markers. I check the project and I get this: "error message encore cs5 end action can't execute on the final chapter point"
Do I need to make a chapter playlist? Because that gave me a "orphaned playlist" error message.
I selected the last chapter masker and had the end action go to the sub menu.
    Thanks!

Saw a previous thread where bill hunt said it ignore it and try to burn a copy.

  • Chapter Marker Not Recognized Error Message

I'm about to export a 15-minute Final Cut Sequence

use in DVD Studio Pro, but when I try, it gives me the error
    message that
"1 of your Chapter Markers is less than 1 second from your selection.
If you Continue, this Chapter Marker will be ignored."
    How do I
    a) Identify which of the 23 markers it is
    b) make the change (as I don't understand the error, all my markers are separated

    Thanks

You know, I actually had markers right on top of each other

It's ready to export, i'm just not sure if
I need to enable Markers to export anywhere

  • In Payback for Encore CC, how do I get to go to a previous chapter?

Up until using Adobe Encore CS3, when authoring, i was always able to access the previous asnd forward and l chapters easily.  Since Adobe Encore CS4, while accessing playback, the program easily will jump forward to any chapter, but when I want to go back and review a previous chapter, it takes me back to the present chapter that I am in.  I know how to create menus and how to go to next or previous menus, but not how to go to previous scenes or chapters listed on the same menu.  I have watched tutorials on the next/previous chapters how-to's, but that only works for me when  constructing the main men pages, not the chapters and chapter scences.  I am quite sure that this is very simple to solve and that I am missing to understand one function that would solve this problem.  Can anyone zero in on what I do not understand to properly do and  to be able to go to previous chapter/scenes in Encore CC (I have been using the rewind function in order to access a previous chapter)?

Since there is no such thing as Encore CC, what are you using? http://www.adobe.com/products/encore/faq.html
There is a link to a video tutorial at the bottom of page #5 at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2276578 which describes how to use Premiere Pro CC with Encore CS6
Also, Encore itself has a different forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/encore?view=discussions

  • How to set up the maximum number of messages on a queue programmatically

    Hi,
I am using IMQ 3.5 to implement a message layer for one of my projects. I created a "Job Status Queue", which receives job status report from a java application every minute. But I just want to keep the most current status report instead of all the job running history. How can I restrict the maximum number of messages to 1 programmatically?
Any suggestion or help will be appreciated.
    Xiaoyun Tang

You can't limit the destination size programmatically, but you can do it administratively and associate a behavior to occur when the limit is reached. In your case it sounds like you want a queue, 1 message deep, and to discard the oldest message when the queue is full. When you create the physical queue on the broker you can specify these attributes (you can also update them on an existing queue). For example:
imqcmd create dst -t q -n StatusQ -o maxNumMsgs=1 -o limitBehavior=REMOVE_OLDESTFor more information see Chapter 6 of the Message Queue Administration Guide. In particular the "Managing Destinations" section:

  • Thumbnails wont display pages in a chapter that I know are there and have pasted in

    Hello everyone.
I am an author and have previously published two books in the iBookstore using iBooks Author. The third one that I'm attempting to lay out is giving me major problems for some reason. I have a MacBook Air 13 inch Mid 2013 Processor  1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 running Mac OSX 10.9.5 and the latest iBooks Author 2.1.3. My screen window is as large as it can go on my screen, and everything seems to work fine when I select a chapter layout and just drop the text in, but then when I go back and start modifying some of the page layouts by changing say, from a two column text only page to a one column text and half page image, or any of the other options, it works okay for the first couple of times but then I see that the last couple of pages of text in that chapter have been 'pushed' off the end of both the thumbnail pane on the left hand side of the screen, and in the main window itself. I can't get to them because the scroll bars in both the main window and the thumbnail pane are at the ends of their travel and won't let me see any more of the pages that I know must be there, and were there before I started putting images in... I took a screengrab and on the very right hand side of the main window you can just see a portion of the next text page, but I can't scroll on to it or access it in any way, which has brought everything to a grinding halt. Is there a page limit within each chapter that I don't know about? (I currently have about ten pages in this chapter, but that might go up to about 13 if I was able to drop some more images in.) The images are all jpegs, maximum size of around 13 MB, average around 8MB. I noticed that the 'Media' file took a very long while to load images into from IPhoto, and I don't know whether that indicates a problem between iPhoto and iBooks Author or not? I still have my two original iBooks stored in the iBooks Author memory, and wonder if I have somehow exceeded an overall memory size in the app or not? Or is it something much more basic that I'm doing wrong? I've quit the programme several times and rebooted, to no effect. Any ideas or help would be appreciated please. PS I'm not a tech head, so terminal-speak doesn't mean anything to me by the way...!

Hold everything guys! I think I've solved the problem – by manually adding on extra text pages at the end of the thumbnail pane, it kind of 'catches up' with the rest of the text. I was expecting this to happen automatically, like when you paste in text the first time around, but clearly this doesn't happen and you've got to do it yourself... Note to Apple: a 'flow-on' updating feature for page layout changes would be good to incorporate next time around please.

10 marks for recognising the Latin (sort of) that is the placeholder text in your template.
You are using a Word Processing template. WP templates have content flowing from page to page. As one page fills up, a new one is created. If some of that text is deleted or displaced the pages retract.
When you combine text, invisibles like word spaces, returns, tabs, page breaks etc with objects that have text wrap set, the mix can behave in an apparent odd fashion.
Start with showing where everything is:
    Menu > View > Show Layout/Invisibles
Start with getting rid of any excess returns you may have used to "position" things. Next cut and paste objects like textboxes, shapes, charts and tables "Inline" ie in as part of the text. If necessary also turn off text wrap on objects or minimise it so that doesn't push text completely out of the way.
Insert Section breaks in the Text where you want fixed breaks in the layout these will provide separation between layout on different pages.
Basically you need to clean up your layout or think about doing it another way.
If there is a lot of layout, you will need to learn Pages methods for doing this in a WP template or do it in a Layout template where each page is individual and all objects are floating with no default text area.

  • I have installed a trail version of FrameMaker 12 and cannot open the book and chapter files in FrameMaker 8

    Hi
My colleague and I use FrameMaker 8 but I'm considering whether it would be a good idea to upgrade to FrameMaker 12. So today I installed a trail version of FrameMaker 12.
Before opening a book file in FM12, I copied it to another folder so I wouldn't mess up anything. Unfortunately, I forgot to copy the chapter files so I opened most of them from FM12. As soon as I found out about it, I copied them to the new folder, but too late.
Now I'm not able to open the original files from FM8 (and even worse, neither can my colleague). I read somewhere else, that I should save the book file in the .MIF format (I tried both 12 and 7.0) and then open it from FM8. I tried that, but I still cannot open the chapter files.
I get an error message saying: "Althoug xxx.fm appears to be a FrameMaker document, it can't be opened with this release of the product".
I didn't make any changes to the chapter files when I looked at them in FM 12.
What should I do? I case we decide not to upgrade, we will not be able to access this book which is a big problem. I already have some small changes that have to be made.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Back saving to MIF should work, but it’s probably faster to just retrieve a backup of the FM8 files & books and restore them over your botched FM12 versions. Then take a copy of that backup and put it on the trial machine to play away without impacting anything else.

  • General Error or Crash using menu button on chapter playlists

This is my first complex project in 2.0 - I needed to have approx 120 clips playable individually from a series of still menus. Given the 99 timeline limit, I created a number of timelines and placed batches of clips on them. I'm then using individual chapter playlists to reference each clip. The chapter playlist is linked from a menu button.
When using the menu remote button when a chapter playlist is playing, I either get an 'abnormal condition' error, or occasionally, Encore crashes with no message at all. Tried this with no menus, timelines and playlists open but same errors.
    More detail:
    PAL 16:9 project
    28 timelines
    65 chapter playlists
    15 still menus
approx 120 mpv clips and associated wavs (mpv encoded with cinemacraft encoder sp)
Settings for one of the clips giving problems:
Timeline - end action not set, menu remote - return to last menu, all ops permitted, no chapter end actions
Chapter playlist - end action - return to last menu, override not set, menu remote - return to last menu, all ops permitted.
I think I can stop the errors and crashes if I disable the menu remote button - but I don't really want to do this.
Any ideas what's going on? Is it a bug(S)?
    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Paul.
The trouble I had was the "Abnormal Condition" error when hitting the menu remote button in preview.
There was no problem with Prev/Next buttons though.
I tried burning a disc too, just to check if it would burn true & just played up in preview - but no dice. What happened was the player froze up solid after pressing the menu remote.
I did create another project where the chapter playlists numbered around 28 from a single timeline, and this actually worked as it should do, so I suspect an issue in Encore's internal stacks where this is all addressed.
I had to use a different application in the end.
I believe the reason yours is still failing is simply because despite having 5 timelines, you are still well over the number of chapter playlists that seem to be available.
It's a nasty bug - but apparently a fix is in the works. Hopefully we will see this as a maintenance release - we got these with both earlier versions (1.01 from 1.0, and 1.5.1 from 1.5) so I am hoping it will happen.
There are a couple of issues I have noticed - although this is so far the only one I cannot work around in my projects.
One thing has just occurred to me that might help you here.
Instead iof using a chapter playlist to reference each clip, save these for multiple clips that need to be accessed, and from your chapter menu, just point directly to the clip in question.
Set an end action for each clip to revert back to the menu that called it, and create just a single chapter playlist for a "Play All" situation.
This will greatly reduce the number of chapter playlists you are running - and should do the job for you.

  • Keep Getting Adobe RoboHelp 9 has stopped working Message

I am running on Windows 7 Professional, SP1, 4GB RAM, 64-bit OS, with Administrative privileges using Adobe RoboHelp version 9.0.1.232. I am creating projects on my C drive and linking them to Word 2010 docx files that are on the network then generating them as AIR files for testing purposes at this point. Each linked document is a technical manual (with a TOC and index) having anywhere between 100 and 1000 pages. The plan is to create a project for each of the 20 manuals then link them together and generate a Master Project as an AIR file to distribute to our customers. The manuals contain flowcharts, bullets, numbered lists, images, tables, hyperlinks, etc with approximately 100 custom styles defined in one Normal.dotm file. Only defined styles are used in each of the manuals and all manuals use the same Normal.dotm file. Each custom style is linked to a corresponding style in a custom RoboHelp css file used by all RH projects.
I have a default project that is used to create each separate project which includes a linked docx file that contains each of the custom styles so I do not have to link each Word style to the corresponding RH style every time I create a project for a different manual. My process is this: create project, link docx file, change Properties to create new TOC, Index, Glossary, Generate the linked document, Update linked document (when applicable), generate the AIR file, then update the Word document (in Word) as necessary. I then Update the linked document in RH and generate the AIR file again....and keep doing that until it looks good.  So far, I have successfully created projects for 11 manuals with projects ranging in size from 20 to 50 MB. So I know the problem is not my styles, etc.
My problem is this....I will sometimes get the message 'Adobe RoboHelp 9 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available'. Sometimes, I will get the message when the manual has been updated in Word and I select Update in RoboHelp while other times it occurs when I am first getting the project set up. Right now, I am getting this message when I select Generate for the linked manual. I checked my application log file and see that I am getting an EventID 1000, Task Category 100 error. The manual is 477 pages/7.6 MB and the RoboHelp project is 42 MB and has only two really small flowcharts.  I have successfully created a project for this manual a couple times before after updating the Word document for things I saw in the AIR file, but when I selected Update in RH, I would get the message and the project was then corrupt so I had to start over. I know it is not an installation problem because I can then open another project and it works fine.
Things I have tried without success: copied the linked manual to my C drive to remove the network aspect. Closed all other applications so only the Word document and RoboHelp are open. My experience has been that in most cases, RoboHelp is happier when I have the manual I am working with open in Word but have also tried it without Word running. I have tried creating the project on the root of C instead of in my folder. Tried it when no one else was on the network (5 am). In one case, I pulled out a chapter that was about 50 pages of flowcharts - which fixed that one. All our flowcharts are inserted into borderless tables as metafiles so they are not free-floating.
Any help anyone could give me as to why this is happening or what I can do differently so as to prevent this from happening would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!
    Kathi

My inclination is that it is something in the projects or in the manuals being linked that is the culprit because that is where the consistency lies - projects were created identically and manuals all follow identical formats. The problem typically only occurs after the project has been successfully created and the manual is subsequently updated and I am syncing the manual in RH so I can generate a new AIR file. This is the first time the project has consistently corrupted every time I try to generate the Word document after linking it in RH. This makes little sense to me since it generated fine a couple weeks ago and I did nothing special when I updated it in Word yet when I tried to update it in RH, that is when it originally corrupted. The bottom line is that I cannot 100% trust that any project I run will work the next time. I end up just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
My problems seemed to start once I went to RH9 (from RH8) because we had upgraded from MS Office 2003 to the 2010 version and I needed 9 for the docx extension. Like I said, it is not all the time - I can be beating my head against the wall getting one of the projects to work, then create 3 more projects that have no problems and then the next one leaves me wanting to throw my PC through a window....
Deleting the CPD does not corrupt the project, it just removes my default linked document that allows me to circumvent linking the styles individually for that project. Once I have a manual linked and I remove the CPD, it just creates a new one. What I am saying is that if I delete the CPD file, it does not prevent the project from corrupting nor does it make the corrupted project viable again.
    thanks!

  • Getting "layer break" error message when trying to Preview a single sided DVD, or build an ISO image or disk folder

Hi!  Hoping someone might be able to help with an odd problem.  I haven't found anything in the forums or the web that match my symptoms.
I've been using Encore CS6 (v6.0.1.013) on a MacBook retina over the past year to successfully create a number of single sided DVDs with menus, chapters, and all that.  I usually make a copy of a previous DVD project, and then replace video assets with the new files and transcodes, move and rename chapter markers, and rework the menus in Photoshop.  I then will build ISO images for both DVD and Blu-Ray (both single-sided), and use those to burn many copies of each DVD for clients.
This week, while developing one of these projects, when trying to build a DVD ISO image that looked like it would fit on a 4.7 GB DVD, I received the "layer break" message ("The chosen layer break does not satisfy dual layer requirements.  To fix this, either set a new layer break manually, or choose to set layer break automatically.") because (I'm guessing) the material was too long for the 4.7 GB DVD (the Build screen now shows about 5GB of material are in the project).  This is the first time I've seen that message - usually Encore just tells me the material is too big for the DVD.
I re-transcoded the material down to well under 4.7 GB (about 3.9 GB), reverted and replaced the transcoded files, and now the DVD build screen shows that there are about 700MB free on a 4.7 GB DVD.  But I still have not been able to build any version of the DVD (image, folder, disc), without getting the "layer break" message.  I also now get this same layer break message when trying to "Preview from Here" any menu, killing my ability to preview the DVD menus in Encore.
Just to see what would happen, I chose an 8.4GB Dual Layer DVD, and chose "manual" instead of "automatic" for the layer break selection, but never got the layer break selection dialog box, just the "layer break" error message.
I typically build both DVD and Blu-Ray images from the same material in the same project.  I use different transcoding settings for each, and I have been able to build a Blu-Ray ISO without this "layer break" error on the Blu-Ray build (which is about 24.5GB when built).  And as I mentioned before, this is the first project on which I've even seen this layer break message.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  I'd rather not recreate the project from scratch, but I'm worried that I may have to.
    Thanks
    Jon

The total project being small enough may mean you have one layer that is too big. Both layers have to be smaller than half the disk, right?
Be sure you "run as administrator" for dual layer projects.
Encore may set the layer break correctly if it finds a good place, but there are numerous complaints about it being unreliable.
Build to a folder (no layer break is set), then use ImgBurn to build and ask to be prompted for layer break. ImgBurn is also unreliable under some circumstances.
The most frequent problems appear to be when there is no good location for a break. Do a search for "layer break imgburn" and you will see a variety of strategies.

  • Long Error Message when I burn to a DVD

I created a video in iMovie. Open the Packaged Contents and sent the .mov to compressor.
I set compressor to one of its preset DVD format: Best Quality 150 minutes.
Since the video is 2 hours and 45 mins - it took compressor 6 hours to convert to a MPEG2.M2V file along with an .AC3 file.
I then imported those 2 assests into DVDSP - green light since they are already rendered.
I checked the DVD Simulator and everything is perfect.
The final size of my video project says 4.3GB on the right corner of DVDSP.
If I use a standard 4.7GB Blank DVD - it tells me that it wont fit.
So I put in a Dual Layer Blank DVD. When it finishes I get the following message:
    Formating Failed
Formatting was not successful. A suitable marker could not be found in the required layer break range.
Please help me! What am I doing wrong?

Did you remember to set the option to allow DVDSP to automatically insert the layer break point marker? If not, go and do so. Otherwise, create a chapter marker just over the halfway point on your project and set it as the layer break point.
You might also want to check your preferences... in the track section, check 'fix invalid markers on build'. It shouldn't be an issue at the moment, but it won't hurt to do it.
You also ought to see how big those assets really are - calculate the combined file size using your finder (and not in DVDSP). If it is over 4.3Gb then either compress the footage again to a smaller file size (lower the data rate) or go ahead with your DL disc.
