Characreset Conversion Problem In Export

I have created a Database on Oracle8i ver.8.1.5 on Novell using WE8ISO8859P1 chracherset. Because I use this database to store 8 Bit ASCII data. My application is working fine. But when I export the data using export utility on Novell Server it converts WE8ISO8859P1 charcter set data to US7ASCII charcter set.
How can I avoid this ?

Check your NLS_LANG environment variable setting.
In your case this parameter must have been set to
language_territory.US7ASCII. Set it to
language_territory.WE8ISO8859P1. For additional information, check the following link.

  • Problems in Exporting in FCEx HD using Quicktime Conversion

I am currently editing video footage for web delivery using Final Cut Express HD and am having problems with the export using Quicktime conversion. When exporting to a Quicktime movie, there are no problems with the export. When exporting to MPEG-4 using Quicktime conversions, the audio is fine but the video image is very choppy and quality is significantly reduced. Is there a filter I need to apply to enhance the video for MPEG-4? Are there specific settings that work best with MPEG-4 in H.264?
    Thanks for the help

MPEG-4 export only works in specific frame sizes. The greater the image size the higher the data rate you'll have to use to produce a good quality image. The quality of the compression is going to be to a substantial degree dependent on the quality of the original recording and the original compression.
YouTube uses Flash video for delivery BTW, not MPEG-4.

  • Oracle to Mysql character set conversion problem!!! PLZ IGNORE

    Hi Experts,
I have created a database link from Oracle 10g to Mysql 5.
I have installed Oracle Gateway 11g for this purpose.
When i retreive the data from sql plus the text is displayed as question marks.
Oracle 10g Database character set is WE8MSWIN1252
    Mysql character set --->latin1
Character set of ODBC connector for mysql is  latin7
Character set in the parameter file of HS folder is WE8MSWIN1252When i retrieve data from sql developer the text is fine(as i think it directly takes the character set of target) but
when i login from sqlplus i get question marks!
I have another post in Heterogeneous Connectivity forum
Re: Oracle to Mysql character set conversion problem!!! PLZ HELP
    Kindly update your comments there,
    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@2
    Appreciate your help,

It is OK to post a globalization-related question in this forum in addition to the forum pertaining to the main technology. Not all experts follow all possible forums on OTN. Of course, you should cross-link the posts to let people merge the answers.
Regarding the problem itself, make sure that SQL*Plus has the right NLS_LANG setting in the environment. On Windows, in the Command Prompt:
    C:\> set NLS_LANG=.WE8PC850
    C:\> sqlplus ...On Unix:
    $ setenv NLS_LANG .WE8ISO8859P1   (or NLS_LANG=.WE8ISO8859P1; export NLS_LANG)
    $ sqlplus ...-- Sergiusz

I used PL/SQL developer to make a parameter file (initially I used it to export, then I just stole the file to try again). It contains 100 tables from a single schema.
Export from prod DB using exp parfile=test.par: Connected to: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options
Export done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set

About to export specified tables via Conventional Path ...

'Export terminated successfully with warnings.' !!!I want to import into the cs2_user schema (same privileges as on the production DB) trying:impdp 'sys as sysdba'@danieldb schemas=cs2_user dumpfile=test01tables3.dmpThat gets the error: UDI-00014: invalid value for parameter, 'attach'
I then thought maybe you have to use imp/exp or impdp/expdp instead of a combination (exp + impdp) so I tried: imp 'sys/admin as sysdba'@danieldb touser=cs2_party_owner file=test01tables4.dmpbut then I just get: IMP-00022: failed to process parameters
Anyone see why its all failing? :s

  • Selecting Quicktime Export Conversion from the Export menu kills FCE.

This used to work for me. Since upgrading to SL I've been experiencing the problem of FCE just quitting without an error on the screen when I select the export with quicktime conversion option. I've looked around and I was unable to locate anything that appears to be a solution. I thought I'd add that I found the following error message in the Console Log.
11/15/09 5:01:09 PM [0x0-0xe20e2].com.apple.FinalCutExpress[2441] objc[2441]: Class ProMetadataQTMDStorage is implemented in both /Applications/Final Cut Express.app/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/MIO.framework/Versions/A/MIO and /Applications/Final Cut Express.app/Contents/MacOS/Plugins/QTM Reader.bundle/Contents/MacOS/QTM Reader. One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined.
    Any thoughts?

Ian and Tom, thank you for your ideas. I'm reluctant to do a wipe and re-install as you can imagine. I use my computer for more than just the occasional FCE project and it would involve a lot of work. I just tried the removal of the preferences and FCE is still not working with the quicktime conversion yet. Export to Quicktime without conversion works fine. Hmmm... I have reinstalled FCE and updated to 4.0.1 but that didn't change anything. Perhaps I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling Quicktime 7 and see if that changes anything - though the error message seems to indicate some confusion in FCE and not quicktime.

  • Having problems when exporting .swf file as an animated gif

    Hi:
I was wondering if anyone has ever had any issues exporting a
flash file as an animated gif? When I do so, the image quality is
very compromised and the animation is distorted. I know this is not
very specific question, but I have never encountered this issue
before, and I am trying to help a co-worker. I don't understand why
it looks exactly the way we want it to look as an swf file, but not
as an animated gif? Can anyone point me in the right direction as
to what to look for as the potential source of this problem? I have
the swf file, although this would not be very helpful as I don't
have access to the flash file (but I can send it to you if that
would help). We tried unchecking the feature to optimize the image,
and changed the color pallete to adaptive, but this didn't solve
the problem. I also tried removing any unnecessary layers prior to
the export. Basically, I'm not sure as to how to proceed and what
may be causing the problem. I also want to mention there is a
placed image on the stage. Could the type of image placed be
causing the problem when exporting to a gif file, but not as a
.swf? If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it! Thanks.
    Sara

I also wanted to mention that the swf file uses sound. I am
reading an old book that I have on Flash and it's saying that Flash
and Shockwave Flash enter a special mode when they encounter a
stream sound in which the animation is forced to keep up with the
sound track, if the animation frames can not be drawn quickly
enough, some frames are skipped. I am also reading that the
animated gif format does not support sound. Again, the only
reference I have is for a very old version of flash, and I'm not
sure it applies to CS3. I am now just thinking that the sound may
    be the issue.

  • Problem while exporting the data from a report to an excel file.

    Hi SAP guru's,
I have a problem while exporting the data from a report to an excel file.
The problem is that after exporting, the excel file seems to have some irrelevant characters....I am checking this using SOST transaction..
    Required text (Russian):
    Операции по счету
№ документа     Тип документа     № учетной записи     Дата документа     Валюта     Сумма, вкл. НДС     Срок оплаты     Описание документа
    Current Text :
       ? 5 @ 0 F 8 8  ? >  A G 5 B C
    !   4 > : C       "" 8 ?  4 > : C      !   C G 5 B = > 9  7 0 ? 8 A 8        0 B 0  4 > : C         0 ; N B 0      ! C <       ! @ > :  > ? ; 0 B K        ? 8 A 0 = 8 5  4 > : C
Can you help me making configuration settings if any?
    Regards,
    Avinash Raju

    Hi Avinash
To download  such characteres you need to adjust code page to be used during export. You can review SAP note 73606 to identify which code page is required for this language

  • Problem in exporting ALV Report to excel sheet

    Hi All,
I have developed a Report and now facing problem in exporting the same to excel sheet.
When we click the "Locate File" icon in the report layout, the system will pop up a window with radio buttons. I have opted for 'Spreadsheet'.
When i save the excel sheet into my desktop, the excel file has all the report headers (Title of each column). But no value is exported.
There are around 15 columns in the report and the excel sheet shows value of last 2 columns which has some text.
I have been into ALV report development and developed around 30+ reports in the same fashion.
What might be the reason behind this issue?
When i export other reports into excel sheet, everything is perfect without any flaws......
    Kindly help me out......
    Regards
    Pavan

    Hi,
Here's my suggestion: Install OpenOffice.org and ask SAP to deliver good integration with OpenOffice.org.
Alternative suggestion: re-install SAP Gui on the PC where the integration is not working. If that does not help, re-install Microsoft Office as well.
Here's my comment: I think you should ask this question in a different forum, e.g. in the Duet forum. That may not be the correct forum either, but as it is a Microsoft/SAP integration technology forum, someone there may know the solution.
    Regards,
    Raj.

  • Problem using Export in Oracle 8.1.6.

    Hi,
I have a problem using export utility in oracle 8i.

    EXP-00056: ORACLE error 942 encountered

You may want to try using the error lookup tool available here, http://otn.oracle.com/pls/tahiti/tahiti.homepage?remark=tahiti You may be able to find the answer even though the error lookup tools is for 8.1.7 version. Otherwise, you can search the db discussion forums to see if this issue has been discussed already.
