PDF,RTF DESFORMAT is right, but users need spreadsheet desformat too.
the characterset is unicode, and end signal of junk character is ?/SPAN>.
When I get excel output include junk character, the same time get the junk character's record, and then get excel output only include the junk character's record, the excel output will be showed correctly,no junk characters.
How to sovle the problem?
thanks.

Hash is printed in date field in excel output.
Hello,
I am developing a report in abap. Report output is exported to excel by using OLE code technique.
The one date field 'posting date ' is in the system has value i.e 27.12.2009 and i want it to be as 27/12/2009.
i have concatenated the internal table date field into another field ' text ' of type c seperated by '/'.
as follows :
concatenate itab-budat6(2) itab-budat4(2) itab-budat(4) into itab-text separated by '/'.
all dates values are coming right,
except dates which starts with 01.12.2009 to 09/12/2009 are showing hash(###) character and when excel column is extended then it shows
date but in the format 12/01/2009.
how to solve this.that is because 1 tab = 8 char..
add a single quote ' to the beginning... it will be displayed as u wish.... -

Junk character being sent by Jdbc Receiver adapter
Hi all,
I am using jdbc receiver adapter it s working fine .However for costumer name it is sending some junk character in last like " SMAN-Abdulrahman Osman¿ " the thing is that all other field is getting populated properly. when I am viewing the data in sxmb_monni .I am finding the data is prpoer but when it is getting posted to staging table then junk character is coming .I am coused whether it is mistake of JDBC adapter or something wrong in the staging table.
Regards,
SaurabhHi Vijay
But for JDBC adapter where I will use the encoding...It is IDoc to Jdbc scenario. So I haave already used the encoding option in RFC destination. Now where to define the encoding in jdbc adapter I am not sure.
One more thing I had used the encoding in RFC to read arabic charachter now its reading arabic charchter currectly but when the name is coming in english then it is getting appended by ¿. for example SMAN Saleh Ahmed Mustafa¿
surprisengly in other column if value is coming in english also it is coming properly. could it be a problem in staging table itself. i am pitting one row below.

Special character (Space) coming in excel output
Hi,
I am using rtf to develop a XML report. The output type is excel so I am using force Ltr property to allign few fields. But I am getting special character when I copy and paste a value of the O/P in the notepad. When I don use Force LTR the problem is not there but the allignment goes for a toss. So is there any way by whcih the issue can be resolved keeping the force LTR.?This seems to be a BUG, please share if there is any workaround for the above issue.
I have tried below approach in order to retain leading zeros.

XML Report Excel Output Numeric & Character value left aligned
Hi,
I want the XML Report Excel ouput both numberic and character values to be left aligned in the report ouput. Currently my report excel ouput prints the number value right aligned and character value left aligned.
I have tried to concat a space to the value to make that as a character value, but this gives a extra space in the report output, which shld not happen..
Please could anyone help me with a solution.
ThanksHi Uday,
You are making number as a string, by adding a character :) , so it will be displayed as string with space and not as number. -
ECC6.0 - PDF issue - Junk Character output after Upgrade from 4.7c
Hi All,
I am working in Uprgade project(from 4.7c Non-unicode system to ECC6.0 unicode system).
We are facing PDF output issue in ECC6.0 that means we are getting junk character output(screenshot is attached for your reference).
In 4.7c , we have stroed the OTF data in table after generated from smartform as we should not get different output in future. Whenever we need output of the same then we are getting the OTF data from that table and we will generate pdf through "Convert_otf" function module. This logic is working fine in 4.7c.
In ECC6.0 ,the same logic is not working as system is unicode sytem and we are getting junk character output.
As per my old upgrade project experience , i have used the below piece of code for solve this junk character issue but still I am facing the same issue.
Kindly note that in my old upgrade project i have regenerated the OTF data in ECC6.0 and used the below piece of code then I got correct output but here I have to use the old OTF data (from table) which was generated in 4.7c.
Please any one can give solution for this issue.

Edited by: Anandakumar.K on Oct 25, 2011 12:54 PMHi,
as you can see in SAP notes 842767 and 1349413, spool data cannot be converted properly for all types in a Unicode conversion.
This might be possible if you have English (US7ASCII) characters only, but with Chinese characters I do not think that a small piece of code can do it ...
Hence I think you need to recreate the data on the Unicode system ...

Download specific output fields to excel
Hi All,
We have a report program that downloads an excel file having about 60 output fields. The program has no ALV output.
Everytime we do not require these 60 fields to be shown in output excel. we need specific output fields in excel and those specific fields could be dynamic.
Is there any way to download specific output fields in excel as we do in ALV variant.
In alv, we can achieve this through a layout variant in selection screen and download the alv output in excel. But we dont require alv to download excel from there.
Thanks,

Something like this:

DATA: lt_report TYPE sy-repid.
DO 60 TIMES.
t_layout-fieldname = 'Field'.
MOVE sy-index TO t_layout-fieldname+6.
APPEND t_layout.

Problem with Excel output format
Hi Guys,
I am creating a report in XML Publisher (not standalone). I am facing some problems could anyone please help me to figure out the issues.
Is it possible to have all three output format (PDF, HTML & EXCEL) exact (same aligned) only by creating a single RTF Template? I am facing the problem with Excel output format the output format of excel is taking excels cell formatting.
Example Numeric fields --> Right Aligned, text fields --> Left Aligned
One more issue with excel is -ve(negative) values are getting displayed in red and in brackets like ($13) (with red color).
Our client want excel output on priority.
Is there any limitation for excel output format of reports?
It is very urgent for us please help.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pragati
Edited by: user11237443 on Aug 27, 2009 1:22 AMHi Mahi,
Thanks for your response. But i could not understand how can we write wrapper program could you please give some light on this or provide some link it would be helpful for me:-)
I have read that blog for excel limitations but i have more question?
1) What about the negative values?
if any field is displaying negative amount then excel not displaying right value for that:(
2)How can we align header or data?
Do XMLP with EBS provide any solution for formatting in excel?
3) If for the alignment of numeric value we concatenate them with any special character then how can we perform calculation that field?
Here are so many formatting issues do we need to write any code in xml for that?
Please help.
Many Thanks,

Junk character '#' comes in Project description and WBS description...
Dear all,
When we transfer and release the project from C-projects module to PS,
then sometime, a junk character like "#" gets appended to the Project &
WBS description, when we retrive the Project in CJ20N. This junk
character creates a lot of problems in the reports, specially, when it
is exported to excel. due to this, all columns gets shifted in the
excel. After a lot of simulation, we found that if we unintentionally
give some spaces in the c-project description, then the junk character
gets appended to the PS description. What is the remedy ?? what should
be done to avoid this ???
Can any of you advise on this?
Thanks,
KumarDear Kumar;
This was also happening to me while uploading Project and WBS from Excel file.
Remedy: for Description Column, copy and paste it on a sperate excel sheet, and apply Trim fromula to erase extra spaces in the begining and end of field.
Now save that 2nd sheet with only description column as text TAB format from excel. and close the file.
Now open that text tab file in excel and copy and p[aste this description column to original Upload file.
This will resolve your issue. -
XML Publisher report not printing excel output due to special characters
Hello,
I am trying to create a xml publisher report which should display the output in excel. But the program completes with a warning status and the output is displayed as XML instead of excel, with some errors "An invalid character was found in text content. Error processing resource " and i think these errors are due to the special characters(eg: city/province - A Coruña, Cáceres). If i give rownum < 10 in my query, where there are no such characters it works fine and i am getting an excel output.
Tried changing the XML encoding and it doesn't help (both mentioned below)
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
Do anyone have a solution for this
Thanks in advance
