Charge Overhead

Hii All
In Departement i have Machining Dept.
In Machining Dept I have resource CNC
In Resource CNC I have routing for item x and item y.
how to set if i want in item x enable generated charge overhead but i dont want in item y charge by overhead.
its possible?
need help..
thanks,
The pooh

Thank you,
We have around 200 K items in item master. When we buy items from vendors, for some items (approx 15K) freight cost is included in purchase price.
In summary, we want ability to charge freight overhead for some items and we do not want to charge freight overhead for some items.
We are using average costing.
Any help is appreciated.

  • Charge overhead based on Item

We are on 11.5.10. We are using average costing. Towards freight cost, we defined overhead elements.
    This is working Okay.
For some items, we do not want freight cost to be added to the item cost.
What options are available to control overhead elements at item level?
    Thank you,

  • Planned overhead is calculating wrongly in CK11N run, it is just more than double

    Hi Gurus
    1) While running CK11N overhead cost is calculating wrongly on base (material price). In my case I have maintained 1% Overhead on raw material for Duty in cost sheet. In my case no routing, and my FG is getting produced by process order. My Raw material cost is showing Rs. 2,364.45 but my Duty is showing Rs. 48.73, When I run CK11N for Finished goods.
When I Check the costing structure it is showing all the material for costing, if i drill down there it is calculating correctly for Raw materials. Say heavy furnace oil material cost is Rs. 36,140.16 /M.T and overhead is Rs. 361.40 and for all raw material it is calculating correct 1%. But for my finished goods it is just more than 2%.
As per my understanding over head is calculating for RM once @ 1% and later material cost + overhead cost getting calculated by 1% again.
Please see the attachment. I have furnished a statement for this also.
    2) Also Please tell me the T-Code for costing run as actual cost. and how can I show a comparison report on planned and actual report for a product costing.
    3) My scenario is this is a power generation Co. Not possible to maintain activity cost. What they want to do is. on the last day of a month they will take the trial balance for the plant/ business area and will set the percentage in cost sheet (Actual for current month / planned for next month) for admin, manpower and other costs based on raw material GL values.
So I have created a cost sheet where I have maintained base and assigned those RM GL/ Cost elements and other costs I have maintained in cost sheet based on row No. 10 (base) and assigned secondary cost elements and percentages assigned as per overhead type and plant, in cost component structure I have maintained same cost elements as set earlier in cost sheet.
    Please find the file attached
Please suggest me if I M wrong.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi.
In itemization of CK11N over head is showing correct. But the material cost for RM is already after charging overhead. I have checked the itemization of Process order there for the first material was Rs. 144.56, but in the itemization view of CK11N it is showing Rs.148.90/- That means exactly after adding 3% overhead which I maintained in cost sheet.
    Itemization of Ck11N
    Itemization of COR2
    Please Help

  • Overhead structure and allocations

    Hi All,
I am little bit confused with cost accounting and product costing.
Can anyone explain how cost accounting allocations, distributions and assessment effect product cost controlling, How the overhead data flow from cost center accounting to product costing.
Can anyone explain in brief the difference between direct activity allocation and indirect activity allocation with real time scenario,
    Thanks
    Kumari

    Hi Kumari,
    1. Cost allocation is nothing but adding cost to production process directly or indirectly. Direct cost includes equipment and machinery which are directly invovled it the production. We create activity based on different activities and diverted the same to production process through work center and routing.
Whereas, indirect cost which no where directly involved in the production process but support the process as Rajneesh said. Some of indirect costs are plant visiting, supportive admin and maintenance cost of the production and canteen facilties to labour at site. We will charge the indirect cost to production process in various methods based on requirement.
Some of methods to charge indirect cost are Costing sheet, which is used to apply a certain percenage of cost to produce a particular product (ex: 20% of total produced material will be consider as material overhead). We can use quantity based overhead using costing sheet, i.e. $10 for every machinery hour. We also use Template allocation method to charge overhead on production process.
    2. Distribution/Assessment are used to transfer the cost between cost centers for different requirements.
         a) The main difference between these two is: Distribution can transfer only primary cost elements whereas Assessment can transfer both primary and secondary cost elements.
         b) Another difference is: Distribution carries the values to the receiving cost center with all cost elements available from sending cost centers. Whereas, in Assessment, all the cost from sending cost center will be accumulated and transfer the same to receiving cost center via a 42 category secondary cost element.
Its up to you which method you follow based on the requirement.

  • Kb21n overhead cost

    Hi,
For allocation like distribution and assessment cycle, it is to allocate the overhead cost
May I know KB21N which is to transfer cost from 1 cost object to another using activity type, also to calculate overhead cost or is it to calculate direct labour cost?
    thanks

    Hi
Yes, KB21N is to charge overhead.. Ends are the same, but means are different...
Kb21N is when you forget to add an operation in the routing and hence the Labor hrs did not get charged to Prod order.... Or you confirmed more by mistake and you want to rectify that...
In such cases KB21N is used which charges Labor hrs and there by the cost to the receiver object

  • Actual rates (KBK6) is not getting picked up for CPTA (template allocation)

    Hello Experts,
I am using template allocation for the purpose of overhead calculation. I maintained rate in KP26. It is getting pulled up when I ran standard cost estimate. This is correct
Now I want to run CPTA (ie. charging overhead at month end) using actual rate. Hence I maintained actual rate in Tcode KBK6. Actual rate is little bit varying with KP26 rates. Hence I want to run CPTA with actual rate.
When I executed CPTA, I saw that system is picking up KP26 rate and not KBK6 rate. Please help me. How system will pick up KBK6 rate for CPTA.
    --Meena.

    Hi Meena,
The correct sequence of closing should be:
    1. Template Allocation - CPTA
This will post activity allocation from CC to your production order at PLAN price.
    2. Calculate Actual Activity Prices - KSII
This will calculate actual price based on costs posted to CC and activities allocated (try to avoid KBK6 in your testing but rather calculate actual price properly). It will also credit CC but will NOT debit the order.
    3. Revaluate your production order - MFN1
This will debit the order with the difference between plan and actual activity price.
Please kindly read SAP Note 156563 - Settlement after activity allocation/revaluation.
It explains revaluation logic in detail.
If in your case CPTA generates activity allocation between CC and order (valued at plan price) and KSII calculates new actual activity price, MFN1 has to update the order.

  • Target costs on Process orders not calculating

    Hi All,
We have released standard costs for all the materials. We have also done Goods receipt for the process order but still the TARGET COSTS are not getting updated.
Can some one tell is any specific config present for the same.
We need to fix the process orders but how?
    Thanks,
    Hari

    Dear Harihara,
<b>You must have all manufacturing master data associated with your manufactured material(s) set up.</b> This includes bills of material, work centres, routings, and activity prices. If you are charging overhead, you must also have maintained the costing sheet and the material master overhead key field.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Actvity valuation & Revaluation

    Hi friends,
I am getting confused with the following:
    1.  Price calculation of actual activity
    2.  Revaluation of actual activity
What is the difference between the above and what the revaluation will do over the actual price calculation.
    Regards,

Thanks for the response.  It was helpful.
May ask you one more clarification in the Cost Component Structure ?
I want my cost component structure as follows:
    1.     Material Cost
    2.     Packing Material Cost
    3.     Freight Charges
    4.     Handling Charges
    5.     Port Duty
    6.     Stamp duty
    7.     Bagging Charges (Activity u2013 1)
    8.     Other Labour Charges (Activity u2013 2)
    9.     Material Overhead (10% on Material)
    10.     Labour Overhead (5% on Labour)
I am aware about how the calculation is done for  Material cost, Packing Mtrl Cost, Bagging Charges, Other labour Charges, Overheads, etc.  But I am confused how the components from 3 to 6 are estimated in the Standard Cost Estimate.  Should I maintain it separately and plan it in the cost element for this and just assign that cost element in the component structure ?  Or should I do anything else ?
    Please give your valuable comments.

  • Calculate costs on customer-orders

    Hello,
I'm unexperienced to IP / BPS (but I'm very experienced in BW! )but have to make proposal to a new project.
We have to calcuale the margin of our customer orders.
Therefore I have the following idea.
Take orders, different attributes and quantity from Order-InfoCube (already available in BW with order - customer - quantity-revenue1-revenue2)
Upload cost per Euro / Tonnage into IP (I have 10 different sub-cost-tables).
My question is: how can I reach, that Tonnages from orders are multiplied by costs Euro / Tonnage ?? Can I write a formula like: (take attribute 1 and Quantity) * (cost per Euro/ Tonne) from Cost-Table 1 and write Keyfigure Cost_Attribute1 to a new Provider?
At the end I want to build a query where I can report order - customer - orderd quantity- revenue1 - revenue2 - cost - margin.
    Thanks for your replies,
    Thomas

  • Sap controlling

    hiii ,
where can i see the postings of secondary cost elements.?
primary cost elements can be posted normally in to gl accounts irrespective of cost and revenue but when am posting secondary elements there is error a coming .
freight charges, overhead cheges are treated as primary costs genrally what happens if we take them as secondary elements..
    thanks inadvance,
    hima

    hi vinay,
An organizational unit within a company, used to represent a closed system for cost accounting purposes.
A controlling area may include single or multiple company codes that may use different currencies. These company codes must use the same operative chart of accounts.
All internal allocations refer exclusively to objects in the same controlling area.
Controlling provides you with information for management decision-making. It facilitates coordination, monitoring and optimization of all processes in an organization. This involves recording both the consumption of production factors and the services provided by an organization.
As well as documenting actual events, the main task of controlling is planning. You can determine variances by comparing actual data with plan data. These variance calculations enable you to control business flows.
Income statements such as, contribution margin accounting, are used to control the cost efficiency of individual areas of an organization, as well as the entire organization.

  • Allocating OH on WIP

    Hello Experts,
I have following two scenarios for WIP:
    1. WIP issue to shopfloor. But not yet consumed in machine (termed as RM WIP)
    2. WIP issue to shopfloor, consumed in machine. But FG is not yet out of the machine (termed as FG WIP).
We are charging overhead using template (on the basis of actual quantity of FG).
    I require following input.
How to charge overhead to WIP in following scenarios:
In RM WIP, there should not be any Overhead charged
In FG WIP, 75% of the total overhead should be charged. Remaining overhead (25%) should be charged when actual production will take place.
Please help me on the above.
    Deepak

    Hi Deepak
I would like to pitch in here..
What is WIP in SAP? WIP in SAP is very different than what we understand as WIP in our accounting language..
Assume youir Process is like this. RM -> SFG1 -> SFG 2 -> FG
In this case, you can have 3 WIPs i.e.
WIP for SFG1 (When RM is issued to Process order and SFG1 not yet received),
WIP for SFG2 (When SFG1 is issued to Process order and SFG2 not received)
WIP for FG (When SFG2 issued and FG not received)
Now, coming to your question, where you wanna charge 75% and where you wanan charge balance 25%?
In RM WIP, there should not be any Overhead charged
In FG WIP, 75% of the total overhead should be charged. Remaining overhead (25%) should be charged when actual production will take place.
If you want no overheads to charged for SFG1, use Overhead groups in Costing sheet and dont assign Overhead Key in Material Master of SFG1
you wanna charge 75% overhead for SFG2, assign overhead key in material master where you have 75% overhead rate
You wanna charge 25% overhead for FG2, assign a OVH KEY where you have 25% overhead rate
You can have any variation in the above process in terms of where to charge and wherenot to charge. but overhead key is the solution
Note that, its not possible not to charge OVH when SFG1 is in WIP stage, but you charge overhead to SFG1 when final output of SFG1 is received... Either you charge OVH for a material or you dont charge. These are the only two possibilities
    Hope this is clear!

  • Overhead on Subcontract Vendor Charge

We have implemented Raw Material Costing, adding overhead through use of a costing sheet.
We use subcontracting (PrcTypF/SpcPrcTyp 30). In most plants it is a minor portion of the cost, so we did not need to know how to add overhead to the vendor charge
At One of the plants that we are converting now to Raw Material costing, the Subcontract vendor charge is 80 - 90% of the value. We need overhead added to that charge.
I thought I could just check the box in the valuation variant for Overhead on Subcontract Materials and it would calculate.
    It did not..
I did add the subcontract cost element to the BASE on the costing sheet.
What else do I need to do to get the overhead
    thank you
    Althea

Have you specified OH costing sheet under the tab overhead? This costing sheet needs to be specified for the Finished/semi finished field.
Please check if you can see the OH sheet under the valuation tab. Also check if the cost element in OH costing base is showing in itemization.
I think it is a OH costing sheet issue and not subcontracted material issue.

  • Report for Timesheet Hours charged to Overhead Codes

How does one generate a report that lists Timesheet Hours charged by each Resource to an Overhead Code for a given Timesheet Period?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
you can use Tcode se38for running this report .
Or else give a Tcode - PTARQ
It gives you the total functionalities of Leave Requests.
Its the sap standard interface provided to test the functionalities in R/3 side .
    Hope this helps .
