Charged £147.95 in May, cancelled order but still ...

Hello all,
I'm desperately hoping someone can help as up to now it has been like drawing blood from a stone to get this money refunded.
I placed an order in May I believe for BT infinity with TV and the line rental saver. Upon calling my current provider (Sky) I was given a better deal for the package I have and decided to stay with them. I cancelled the order well within 7 days of placing it and before receiving any equipment, according to the letter I received from BT I could do this up until the working day before my phone number was transferred to BT to do this.
I thought this would be a straight forward matter of refunding the cost charged, however, months later I am still out of pocket.
Multiple calls to BT and eventually in July the woman I spoke to told me the account hadn't been closed down properly and she would do it now which would generate the final bill and refunds.
Fast forward to today and still no refund for the £147.95.
Another call to BT and the man on the phone tells me the order was placed in May but only cancelled in July so I won't be receiving a refund... This is not my fault, someone at the BT end has fouled up the cancellation procedure and the account has remained active until July apparently when the woman I spoke to cleaned things up.
I've had a refund for £36.06 but that is somewhat short of the £147.95 I have been charged.
To clarify - I have received no service or equipment from BT, I can show proof that throughout this time my number has been with Sky and I have been paying them £15.40 per month for line rental.
Is there anywhere in the UK I can contact to get this matter sorted quickly and easily or is the next stop the Ombudsman?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Why did you file for unauthorised transaction? That means your paypal account was hacked and used without your consent? It would have been helpful to have said that is what you did when you started the thread as your only hope now is that if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then contact your card issuer and see if they will do a chargeback for you.      ***************************************** I give up my time to help you so a thank you or kudos would be cool.

    So you are saying that you followed all of the steps in the support document for problems with connection, including removing and reinstalling iTunes? You do not say what you have tried, so it is hard to make recommendations. If this is the case, then you have tried resolving driver issues? What if you go to Device Manager and look for the iPhone. You should be able to click on it and see about drivers. You can update/reinstall the device driver.

    I did a little bit of experimenting. I have an iPad original versions myself. I took it out of the box knowing that I haven used it in months and I expected the battery to be dead and sure enough the battery was as dead as I imagined it would be. For the first 30 minutes I experienced exactly what you are experiencing, but then the iPad suddenly powered up on its own (like it does when plugged into the charger) and I am using it now to type this response to you.
    My point is that I am starting tothink that your battery has suddenly died on you for some reason or you have a hardware problem now. I would still try leaving the iPad charge for a while longer - maybe even overnight - and then try again in the morning. Unplug the iPad and try resetting with the home and sleep buttons. Try plugging the iPad in again. Unplug it, try restarting again. Let it charge for a while again.
    After trying something like that, if it still will not start up, then I think it's time for a trip to an Apple Store and see what the Apple Techs think.

    Unless somebody else has a micracle workaround I don't know.  Probably get the phone in for repair since it has been living on borrowed time so far and now you absolutely must have a working button.

  • Apple Cancelled Order - But no refund?

    I am from Maldives. I wanted to buy an iPhone 6 but since the price here is around $300 higher than Apple store, I decided to buy from the online US Apple store, send the package to a freight forwarder and ship it to Maldives. However, I later came to know this is against the policy of Apple. My order was cancelled.
    My Order Number: ******** | Ordered on Dec 21, 2014
    Then got a the mail saying,
    "Thank you for your recent order with the Apple Online Store. We appreciate your business.
    We are unable to complete your order. We do not ship to freight forwarder addresses. Therefore your order has been cancelled. While you may see a pending authorization on your account, you will not be charged and that pending authorization will drop off in accordance with your banks policies. Please contact your bank for an exact timeframe."
    My problem is, since to this day, January 6, 2015, I still haven't received my refund. I have called to the bank (Bank Of Maldives). They have confirmed that it takes 10 working days to receive the refund if the order is cancelled but they have not received the refund.
    Since I do not live in US, I haven't found a way to directly contact Apple. Any help?

    Have you checked with your bank whether the payment was actually taken? What Apple have said is that you will see a 'pending authorization'- this is in effect a pre-notification of a charge, but the charge itself should not be taken. So you need first to confirm whether the charge was actually taken. If it was taken in error you should first notify your bank. Then this page may help: Order Status

    The deal for that open box camera looks like a great offer, so I can understand why you ordered one.  I’m sorry to hear that not receiving an order confirmation email led you to order a second one, thus creating two orders.
    Due to maintenance last night on BestBuy.com, confirmation emails were delayed, but should be going out today.  Regrettably, I do see that both orders have already begun fulfillment and I am not able to cancel them.  The only option we would have for you would be to return one of the cameras either by mail or to your local Best Buy store once you receive it.  You can find more information on Canceling Your Order here.

    I'm sorry you haven't been able to cancel your orders as you would have liked. Per BestBuy.com, in most cases, items for shipping can be canceled within 30 minutes of placing the order. In your most recent order, it had begun processing within an hour, after which even our moderators or BestBuy.com representatives are unable to cancel it. I see that it was delivered today. As poprex911 stated, you'll get your refund quickest by taking it to your local store with your order receipt, credit card and ID - this usually reflects in your account within 2-3 business days - or you can mail it back and your refund will be processed once it is received.

    i opted for the 1 m onth free trial, unlimited calls to landline. but i cancelled before the next month but i have been charged approx £10 for this months subscription. how can i sort this out, can i get a refund? i havent used any minutes or called any  number....

    I took out a free trial in June but changed my mind almost immediately I even cancelled within 5 days but to my surprise I have just been charged with 2 transactions on my Paypal account. God knows why I didn't think to cancel them from my Paypal account at the time but I have now so they will get no more of my hard earned cash. I haven't used the service nor do I want to use the service so I have today opened a dispute with Paypal over the £15 Skype have taken. I would add this is after trying for two hours to contact Skype directly .... Believe me guys don't ever do business with this company unless you want fleecing as they do absolutely everything they can to make it impossible for you to cancel that free trial ... I'm very very angry!!

  • Applications downloading...cancelled them but still having a huge problem

    Last night I went to download an update to Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Handcent, Facebook, and Pandora. I also started a dowload for a new app. Well, I fell asleep before they were finished and when I woke up this morning there was the orange traingle with the exclamation point in it and I pulled down my notificaion bar and all downloads had stopped, but they ddint' say "update unsucessful" anything like that. So i clicked on one of them and they started to download again. I came back to my phone like half an hour later and it said there were 47 things downloading. WHAT?! I only had 6! It had multiple of each app 'downloading' but they weren't actually doing anythign. I went to the market and cancelled the updates and stuff but they are still stuck downloading. I've turned my phone off twice to see if that would help. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!

    Two possible solutions...
    1. Settings / Storage / Unmount SD Card and then try download again should complete.
    2. Market / Left Menu / My Apps / Select Item / Cancel button on right.  (Have to do this to each uncompleted downloads)

    It might be a non-email message...try this:
    Homescreen > Messages > BBKey > Search
    Set as follows (may vary depending on your device OS level):
    Search Type: Local
    Name In: Any Address Field
    Subject Message: <leave blank>
    Include Encrypted Messages: Yes
    Service: All Services
    Folder: All Folders
    Show: Unopened Only
    Type: All
    That should return to you all unopened messages from all message conduits. Take action on whatever you see and that should clear up the counter.

  • Pre-Order but still "Prepared for Shipment"?

    I noticed a lot of people getting their shipments early.
    I ordered mine around 7pm on 6/15. I barely made the cutoff for the 6/24 shipment. My order still says, "Prepared for Shipment" with delivery on 6/24.
    Anyone else in the same boat? I hope they ship it soon...doesn't it come from like China? If they don't ship it soon, what are the chances it will actually come on the 24th?

    I ordered mine at 7:30 in Utah and received an email this morning saying I would get mine tomorrow. According to the Fedex site, it is in the sort center in my state. I am so excited. Have faith and hope that everything will work out fine. As the song goes, "Every little thing's gonna be alright.".
