Charging Help! NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY!

I really need some help. IMMEDIATELY, TOO. I am going on a trip tomorrow and am planning on bringing my new iPod nano with me. Of course, I realised that the nano does NOT come with an AC adapter, like my previous 20GB ipod did. And here the problem comes in.
Question 1: Can I use my old 20gb charger and stick it into the nano? Or do I have to go and buy that 30-40$ Adapter meant for the nano at the store? If the answer to that is yes, it will probably make me raging mad- because I am going to be away for a week and I was looking forward to be in sync with my music.
Question 2: Can anyone help me think of ways I can charge my nano when I go on a trip, if it can't be plugged in to the 20gb adapter and be charged? I really want to be able to listen & charge my music on my trip. I won't have a mac accessible, but there will be internet cafes, hopefully. So yes, I guess I do have minimal acccess to the internet.
Thank you SO much in advance!
I really need answers tonight or early tomorrow, thanks!

If the 20gb adapter uses the usb to dock connector cable, then yes, it's the same cable and it will work. If it's firewire, I'm not sure. The nano doesn't support firewire, and definately won't transfer over it, but I've heard that it can charge over it. You can try it. Both the 20gb and the iPod use the same dock connector port

Welcome to the forum. You will need to learn a couple things if you want to receive help and not get flamed to death:
1) All code needs to be posted within code tags. You can read up on them here:
http://forum.java.sun.com/help.jspa?sec=formatting
You want to make it as easy as possible for the volunteers here to help you. That means making your code readable.
2) Do not put "urgent" "need help" "hurry please" in your posts if you are smart. Definitely don't put them in the header of the post. The urgency is yours, not ours. Putting that stuff in there only turns people off. If you have a problem deemed worthwhile by the volunteers here, if you have put thought into your post so you make it easy as possible for others to help you, and if you show some effort on your own, you are almost guaranteed to get timely help.
3) List all error messages completely.
4) Keep all necessary code, get rid of all unnecessary code. Your code should be compilable on its own, but it should not contain anything that isn't necessary for demonstrating your problem.
5) Specifics:
Why are you throwing out all those exceptions?
Why is everything in one big huge GUI class? Break your code down into functional units. Make sure the logic works in a non-GUI way, THEN add a GUI class.
Why the huge main method? The main should be short and sweet.
Why the static inner classes? Do you know what is the difference between static inner classes and non-static inner classes?
Why all the static variables anyway? You are doing procedural programming with an OOP language. You should use OOP if you can with an OOP language.
Sorry, but this code looks like it was thrown together in a big hurry. I think that you have a lot of work to do. Good luck!

• ZEN MICRO doesn`t charge. Need help fa

Hi
Just went to a trip for 8 weeks with my lovely mp3 player.
I haven`t been able to charge it for some reason.
When I plug in the cord the player lights up and instead of
a flashing "battery bars" animation and player fading in color
the player lights up and a "flash sign" lights where the battery bars
should be and nothing happens. No charge!!!!
I`m so fuc$#%@#$]fuc$#%@#$^ pissed of, cause I have to have music....
please help me
/ chris

This is the same thing that has happened to me... except it isn't even that the battery isn't charging... because I took a fully charged, working fine battery from a new unit, and put it in my Zen - same result. The unit will ONLY work on the power cord. It is toast, and tomorrow I have to contact Zen about having it replaced.
The real kick in the *(&* was that not even a new player could solve my problem of coming up with music for a graduation party - Rhapsody had deemed I'd already transferred the music, and not even changing players would change that... so I had to go to my son's computer, and use Yahoo Unlimited. It was a nightmare.
And of course I was just 40 days out from purchase from Amazon. The advice I now give out repeatedly is this - buy the unit at Best Buy (currently $99), and for a mere $30 you can have it replaced if it malfunctions for 2 years. This is not a mail-order friendly device.

• Charging Ipod: need help!

Hey im leaving going to my grandparetns house soon for about 10 days. I know that my battery will not last that long because i use it alot. I'm wondering if i can charge my ipod on there computer. They dont have itunes, and im wondering if that will become a problem. By plugging it in will i loose all my songs???
Thanks gatesy08

Hello,
It's good that you considered this (since problems like the potential ones you said, happen a lot on accident).
Yes, you definetely can charge your iPod on another somputer. Since your iPod was installed for a Windows computer, all you'll need is a Windows computer. If you want your iPod to charge more efficiently, you'll need a USB 2.0 port installed. Other than that, you can charge your iPod via their computer.
And their computer doesn't need iTunes, and your music will not be deleted if you connect your iPod to it.
Any more questions? Glad you asked yours on here.

• My macbook pro not charging I need help

Hi my macbook pro fell of the bed, its still working fine but I tried to save but unfortunately the charger itself got damaged an the part to plug it in its not charging anymore. the charge got stuck in it and it got a little dent what do I do?

Unfortunatly you'll have to take it to Apple and have it repaired. Can't really make sense of your post, but I'm guessing that either the charger or the the charging port will need to be replaced. Possibly both.

• Ipad (first generation) Battery does not charge. Need help

I tried Mac, pc and electric sockets; doesn't work. Same ports and cable I can use to charge my iPhone 4, so I know that cables and USB ports that I tried are OK.
I have 20% batter left. If I turn Ipad off and connected it to the USB cable, the Ipad automatically turns on but still doesn't charge. Also, I the iPad is not getting detected by the iTunes.
Does it mean that my iPad battery is dead?

Try a Reset - (For those who do not know, hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 15 seconds.) even do it a couple of times.
I am a little confused as to when you see or do not see the battery symbol etc etc. You mentioned a 20% battery strength and if that still applies then the following comment would be of little relevance (it may take completely drained batteries 20 minutes or more to indicate that they're actually charging).
As to the iPad not showing up in iTunes, try a different USB port, even a number of times.

• Please help need help restoring my Itunes library because of fatal PC crash

Wondering if there's any hope out there, turned on my PC last night and the useless piece of #"!! Crashed on me throwing out error messages about it's kernal, I've tried everything to get it to boot enough that I could log in on safe mode and make a backup of my Iphone's library however it decided to crash every time I got to the login.
I have been left with no choice but to format the hard drive & re-install the operating system, it's now running better than ever but you guessed it no library or any other files for that matter.
Point is I know just about every second time I plugged in my Iphone to synch a backup of the data on the Iphone would start, right now I'm scared to plug it in in casethat does not happen & it wipes all my songs and apps off the Iphone which I dont think I could replace nevermind the phone book.
I have re-installed Itunes and have authorized my acc on the new build but dont know if there is any way to restore the library from the Iphone.
Any help on this would be a real lifesaver.
yours sincerly
Soon to be MAC convert.

You should really back up important data, as hard drives can and do fail. I assume for the post, that you did not back-up your info.
You can, with the iphone attached, hit File>Transfer Purchase. This will get the songs purchased from itunes. The other songs, photos, etc. are likely gone.

• SQL Help -- Need help with pivoting the columns to rows

I have a requierement to split the columns into multiple rows. For example:
EMP_DEPT
rowid empid1 ename1 dept1 empid2 ename2 dep2 empid2 ename2      dep3 empid4 ename4 dept4
100001 1 'SCOTT' 10 2 'DAVE' 20 3 'MILLER'     10 4 SMITH 20
100002 1 'SCOTT' 10 2 'DAVE' 20 3 'MILLER'     20
Note: EMP_DEPT may not always have all the 4 employee info populated for example in row 2 only 3 employees info is there
I need to convert it and insert into EMPLOYEE table as follows:
EMPLOYEE
empid ename dept
1 SCOTT 10

4 SMITH 20
1 SCOTT 10

• [Help]Need help with variables php,Sql

I have a table users contain fiedls "old,new & total"
when submit , update users SET total = $total
where $total = $old+$new
I did this , I used echo to make sure it is ok , but it is not :
/* Variable to Count Total  */
$old=$row_rs_users['old'];
$new=$row_rs_users['new'];
$total=$old+ $new;
echo $total;
if ((isset($_POST["MM_update"])) && ($_POST["MM_update"] == "doit_form")) {
      $updateSQL = sprintf("UPDATE users SET total=%s WHERE id=%s",
                           $total,
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['id'], "int"));
Thanks,

Seeing only part of your code, it's impossible to debug.
However, your approach is wrong anyway. All you need to do is to add the new value to the old one in the SQL query.
$updateSQL = sprintf("UPDATE users SET total=(total+%s) WHERE id=%s",
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['fieldName'], "double"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['id'], "int"));
$_POST['fieldName'] is the new value being added. Use "double" if the value contains a decimal point. If it's an integer, change "double" to "int".

• Help, need help booting XP from external hard drive

Hi all, i can't seem to get XP to boot from my external hard drive.
OK, heres the story. i have an imac. i use bootcamp to run OSX and XP. things are good. but i run out of space, so i buy myself a 2tb bare drive and swap it out. so i put the original internal with OSX and XP into an external firewire/usb enclosure. I install refit. I hold option on startup and it shows that i have a windows and a mac OS i can boot from the External firewire disk. looks great, but when i choose the windows from the Ext disk, it doesn't boot, instead it loads windows7 on my new 2tb internal disk.
i hear its hard to boot windows XP from an external disk. my professor told me it has something to do with the boot.ini file on the XP disk... something about changing the value of the "rdisk" to 1, which i have done.
i am not trying to reinstall xp, rather just boot from it because i have so many applications/plugins that i do not wish to reinstall.
Does anyone know if this is possible?>> Logon to windows7, and create a system image/backup of the system FROM the XP external disk? and then reinstall XP on that disk, then restore back onto itself? that way i won't have to reinstall.
anyone have any ideas?

Hi boi,
you can't start ANY windows OS from external HD...

• Help need help

I have a a iPad original  and I was wanting to transfer all my data from my iPhone 3GS that was not purchased thru iTunes to my iPad I
It there a way

All your content, whether purchased from the iTunes Store or not, should be in your iTunes Library since syncing via iTunes is the only way of getting non-iTunes Store purchased content onto iOS devices. So just sync the iPad to the same iTunes Library that your 3GS is synced to.
