Charset Problems when sending to database

Hi everyone,
I have a form connected to a mysql database (via a php file). People fill out the form and send the values via a button to the database. Works just fine, but when it comes to special characters like German ÖÄÜ it saves values like ü in the database. I have no idea what charset livecycle is using by standard (utf_8?) and how to change that.
any ideas?
Thanks for helping out

Found the solution:
In the php script that processes the data I had to insert this line:
mysql_query("SET NAMES 'UTF8'");
now it works like charm...

    You have either entered the wrong SMTP server info or they have blocked the sending of e-mails from outside their network. That message indicates that you are not permitted to send through that server from the network you are using to connect.
    Contact them again. There is no magic that will allow you to bypass this.

  • Text/html processing error with Acrobat Reader when sending to database

    Hi everyone,
    I have a problem that occurs in certain versions of the Acrobat Reader, with Acrobat Professional the error message does not pop up.
    In Acrobat Reader however, when sending the form to a php file to fill a database an error pops up
    "Content type text/html couldn´t be processed"
    Nevertheless it works fine, except the fact that the confirmation "successfully sent" that should pop up (and does in Acrobat Professional)  does not appear due to this processing error. What can I do?
    Thanks for supporting!

    Hi,
    I'll only attempt the first part:
    See this discussion where event.target.path.toString().substring(0, 4); was used to get the first four letters of the path. If that equalled "http", then the form was opened in a browser.

    I can't contribute on the other issues.

  • Problem when sending IDOC from ECC to MII 12.0

    Hi all,
       I have followed the document "[How to Send an IDoc from SAP ECC to the SAP MII IDoc Listener|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/50775783-6cb1-2b10-90b0-e6bc2c0b8563]" to configure the scenario to send IDOC from SAP ECC 6.0 to MII 12.0.
       But when sending 53 IDOCs by Tcode POIT to MII, I have problem as below:
       - 53 IDOCS were successfully outbounded (list in WE02).
       - 8 IDOCs were successfully sent to MII IDOC listener (these 8 IDOCs messages exist in list of Message Monitor).
       - 45 IDOCS were error with message in SM58: "Bean IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS not found on host xxx, ProgId=yyy".
       I'm wonder why some IDOCs were successful while some others were error. If the bean  IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS don't exist in EJB, why some IDOCs successful found this bean?
       I have another wonder: in this scenario document, all IDOC message type (SYNCH, LOIPRO) is configured in outbound parameters of RECEIVER (receiver logical system), why they weren't configured them in outbound parameters of SENDER (sender logical system)?
       If some have the same problem and know how to resolve it, could you please help me?
    Thank a lot in advance,
    Vinh Vo

    Hi Vinh,
    Please read the following document:
    [IDOC Listener|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/bpx-community/manufacturing/how%20to%20send%20an%20idoc%20from%20sap%20ecc%20to%20the%20sap%20mii%20idoc%20listener.pdf]
    If you explicitly defined a Prog ID in NW, then you have done an extra step and are confusing NW with the real destination.
    In basic terms, you set up an RFC destination (with an assigned ProgID) in ERP, then configure MII to point to it.
    I suggest that you follow the document completely and do nothing else to set up a new listener.
    If you are not using ECC 6.0, you may find the paths are different,  but the transactions codes are generally the same.  However, you may want to check with some of the older installation instructions regarding specific modifications.  Look in the Wiki for MII under Connectivity.
    Good luck,
    Mike

  • Textarea problem when sending mail (only Firefox)

    When sending mail using textarea item with multiple lines, carriage returns are taken away in resulting mail when sent in Firefox, but not in IE.
    To send mail, I call Javascript function that gets textarea value ($v or $x.innerHTML give the same result) and calls then on-demand process that calls in turn APEX_MAIL function.
    Igor

    Thank you, Jari!
    "pre" did the trick. Line breaks are OK now.
    There is one small inconvenience, though: font becomes Courrier instead of sans-serif type. But this is less disturbing than missing line breaks.

If i try using MOVE i_excel TO i_objbin-line instead of WRITE, the error message changes to: ""TI_OBJBIN-LINE" and "I_EXCEL" are not mutually convertible in a Unicode program. program.". I have tried using ti_objhex table instead of ti_objbin in order to use 'context_hex' parameter (instead of 'context_bin') on FM, but i get the same result.
    I've been searching any other FM to do this, and i've found more FM of SOI1 function group but i didn´t get the expected result. So i need to send the message with the excel attached, using this FM or any other, but I need some help.  Anyone can help me?

  • Transparency problems when sending artwork

    Hello, I have a strange problem with one of the packaging artworks I am trying to send to China for printing. I have sent other packaging files with the exact same design and flashes (but different products) and they have all been proofed back fine, but for some reason the printers in China are saying this particular file is opening up as below, but when I open it - it looks as is should do to me.
    Is there something I need to do my end for it to open properly at their end? I will be sending hundreds of these packaging files, so would like to not keep running into this problem.
    thanks
    As you can see where I have subtle "flashes" on the correct one, they have changed to massive 100% ones on the China one.
    Also the Banner at the top has subtle 20% lines whereas they have gone to 100% on the China one.
    Confused!!!
    *click on the image to enlarge it

    They are opening it in illustrator. They supply me a cutter guide in illustrator and I send it back with artwork. Other files have opened ok at their end with the exact same design. But having problems with others as the above example, which doesnt make sense as its the same flashes and banners.
    I was wondering if there was something I can do my end, to ensure artwork is recieved exactly as I send it. I've been looking into transparency flattening. But was wondering if someone knew of something obvious I was missing.
    cheers.

  • Is anyone else having a problem when sending the first email of the day from iCloud?

    For the past week I startup my iMac and send an email via my iCloud account. I finish typing it out, it says the whole time that it is saving the message. I hit send, the task bar comes up and shows that the meessage has been sent. I look in the 'sent' box and nothing! It didn't send and there is no trace of it in the 'outbox' or junk or drafts, not sure if it something that iCloud has had fixed in the 'Drafts' section but my very first email is lost to cyberspace every morning.
    Very irritating when you have just typed a huge email and forgot to copy it to the clipboard (in case) it dissapears. Just happened asgain so I thought I'd post it here and see who else is experiencing it.
    Any help would be

    Anyone?  I was hoping my problem would just 'fix itself'...  but I still have some clients telling me they're not receiving any email from me.  I've since deleted that account on my computers and re-added it.  But still having the same issue.

  • Sync problems when sending to soundtrack pro

    I am currently having a problem with a mono track audio/video clip sliding out of sync when I send it to soundtrack pro as referenced file only with 10 sec handles. When I send the entire clip the sync problem doesn't occur.
    I have used soundtrack pro before and never encountered this problem.
    I'm on FCP 6.0.3.
    Thanks.

    Turns out the audio needed to be linked to the .motn sequence.

  • Mail encoding problem when sending from Iphone

    Hello,
    I'm a new user with iPhone.
    I have my iphone and on my computer, i have outlook 2010.
    The problem is when i read a message sent by my iPhone in my Outlook 2010 , all accent carators(àéîû...) disapears and ere replaced by a strank caractor.
    The fact is, when someone else send me email in my Outlook account, i see all accent caractor, but not from my iphone...
    So the problem is it in my iphone or my Outlook?
    Do you have an idea for the solution?
    Thanks a lot
    Pascal

    new String(content.getBytes("iso-8859-1"))That code does this:
    1. Encode content from chars to bytes using ISO-8859-1.
    2. Decode those bytes to chars using the system's default encoding. (i.e. assuming they were encoded using the system's default encoding, which they weren't necessarily.)
    Now, if the system's default encoding is ISO-8859-1 then that results in you getting back the original string unchanged. This at least is benign. If the system's default encoding is something else then that may result in you getting back a damaged version of the original string.
    So, that construct is at best pointless and potentially harmful. Don't bother with it. And note that since the default encoding may differ from one operating system to another, that would explain why you see different results from different operating systems.

  • HTMLDB_MAIL.SEND problem when sending HTML

    We had a test application running off of the Oracle hosted site. We used HTMLDB_MAIL.SEND and P_BODY_HTML successfully. However, now we are running on our own hosted site of the production release of 1.6 (no code changes whatsoever, just an export/import). When we send the P_BODY_HTML it is not converted to html, it is sent as text with the html tags embedded.
    In the meantime we have written our own mail procedure, but we were hoping the version of 1.6 that is available was the same as the hosted version.
    Is there something else we should be aware of?
    Thanks!

    Joel,
    I have the following with P_EMAIL_BODY my text body:
    create or replace PROCEDURE "MR_SEND_MAIL"
    ( P_TO_EMAIL IN VARCHAR2,
    P_EMAIL_BODY IN VARCHAR2,
    P_EMAIL_SUBJ IN VARCHAR2 ) is
    L_ERRMSG VARCHAR2(200);
    L_BODY VARCHAR2(4000):='';
    begin
    l_ERRMSG := 'HTMLDB_MAIL.SEND()';
    L_BODY:= L_BODY||'<HTML><HEAD><META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">'||chr(10);
    L_BODY:= L_BODY||'<META content="MSHTML 6.00.2900.2963" name=GENERATOR></HEAD>'||chr(10);
    L_BODY:= L_BODY||'<BODY style="MARGIN: 4px 4px 1px; FONT: 10pt Tahoma">'||chr(10);
    L_BODY:= L_BODY||replace(P_EMAIL_BODY,chr(10),'<BR>')||'</BODY></HTML>'||chr(10);
    HTMLDB_MAIL.SEND(
    P_TO => P_TO_EMAIL,
    P_FROM => '[email protected]',
    P_BODY => 'this must be viewed by an html enabled client',
    P_BODY_HTML => L_BODY,
    P_SUBJ => P_EMAIL_SUBJ);
    l_ERRMSG := 'PUSH_QUEUE.';
    BEGIN
    wwv_flow_mail.push_queue(
    P_SMTP_HOSTNAME => 'gilbert.esc.net',
                   P_SMTP_PORTNO => '25');
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20080,'MR_SEND_MAIL: '||l_ERRMSG);
    END;
    end;
    It does not work properly. I'm using Groupwise and have my client set for HTML.
    Should I have mult-part somewhere?
    Any help be appreciated, Bill

  • Problems when sending e-mails to a large number of...

    Hello, I've noticed that I have a problem sending e-mails to multiple users, such as when I choose a group to send to instead of single users.
    Also, when I reply to all, I can see all the recipients and the subject (everything is still intact when I check my sent messages after it's sent as well), but when I log onto my Gmail and check, the sent e-mail has no subject and is only sent to a few of the recipients.
    Anyone have any idea what's wrong?
