Chart got hidden when section activates. Interactive Reporting

Hello there.
There's some configuration in my dashboard that maybe has got corrupted, because when I try to open a section previously created with the dashboard studio. The section doesn't displays the chart within it. That's happening to several of my dashboards in my BQY.
Would be really helpful any kind of advice.

Do you use the catalog manager to put content on your dashboard? This because you have to edit the dashboard layout file manually
And is the chart in the compound layout when you look at the report? This because OBIEE put the compount layout as a default on your dashboard
Is this when you copy the webcat from 1 envorinment to another? Because if you don't zip the webcat on unix (when you are using unix offcourse) then the pathlengths can get to long for windows and then you have a corrupt-ish webcat.

I am trying to implement a chart from Actions button of an Interactive Report through frond end. I am getting the Flash Security error for this. I know we have to change the HOST variable for this. But i am not sure where exactly I do this. For a normal Flash Chart , i know that we have to do in the Region Source but for a chart from Interactive Report what do I do??????????

It seems you are using EPG.
Replacing #HOST# works for flash charts which you create yourself but I don't think you can do it for the charts generated by Interactive Reports. To fix this issue you either need to update host variable of EPG or the best is to use Apex Listener.
I would recommend you to use Apex Listener as it will avoid further issues if you use a Reverse Proxy with your Apex Server such as Lighttpd or Apache and use multiple Virtual Hosts etc.

You can use Stand Alone mode with Apex Listener as it is easy to very configure.

When using a interactive report I go to aggregate and no column are there

When using a interactive report I go to aggregate, sum and go to choose my columns but I have no column there what am I missing

Just a guess, but have you checked to make sure there's a numeric column in your report (and not, for example, a varchar column that happens to have numbers)?

Error when process an Interactive Reporting Query - EPM 11

Hi everyone...
We are on EPM 11.1.2 working with Interactive Reporting
I already submitted a SR with Oracle, with this problem that I describe on the next lines:
If I open a document and then try to process the Query (Essbase/Oracle datasource). It throws the next error message…
*[2018]: "Failed to acquire Data Access Service with data sources that match the specified OCE";*
If try Again (like 1, 2, or 3 times) without close the document … then the query process responds without problem.
If I try to process the query again (without close the document)… eventually it throws me the same error.
Why sometimes makes the connection with the values configured and sometimes throws the error ?
Any clue, about the origin of this problem... or some tests to discard some kind of configuration
Note:
- The connections are already configure in DAS, and in some time it works well
- We have 2 DAS Services running on my environment (with the same values ) created at the beginning to work as a cluster.

Interactive Report Displaying Multiple Values (Chart)

Hi guys,
Is there a way to display multiple values into a chart report. Normally there is a combobox and you can only select one value. But i want to display multiple values into one chart and i have to use interactive report because sql report is not enough for me.

Interactive Reports in Firefox 3.0.5

Hi!
When running an interactive report in Firefox 3.0.5, the pull-down menu next to the cog icon does not display right over the icon as it does in IE. Rather, the menu displays at the bottom of the page below the report area.
Anyone knows why is this and how it can be fixed?

How to customize an interactive report PDF using a BI Publisher template

Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to get an interactive report to work with BI Publisher. I want it so that I can create a custom RTF template with custom headings, and then apply this for the interactive report.
On the front end, when a user runs an interactive report, they are able to hide and show columns, and then click on Actions > Download > PDF. I want this to access the custom template and return a PDF based on this template, and also showing the columns that the user has selected in the interactive report.
I have already created a custom RTF Word Doc in BI Publisher, and have uploaded it into a report query created in Apex. I am not sure though how to apply this report query to an interactive report, or if that’s even what I’m supposed to do to get it to work the way I want it to.
When editing the Report Attributes, under Print Attributes, there is a section called Printing.
Under this, there is a "Print Server Overwrite". I thought this is where you can specify your report query. But I am not sure if I even need a report query because I don't understand why you have a report query that is based on a static query, when in an Interactive Report, the user can hide columns.
I have Apex 4.0.1.00.03 and Oracle BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.0d installed.

Hi Gage,
Custom RTF and XSL-FO templates are currently only supported with classic report regions and report queries, but not with interactive reports. So you would need to create a report query based on the SQL statement you used for your interactive report and then associated your template with that report query. Unfortunately you won't be able to use any of your customizations, filters, or column selections this way. We're planing to support report layouts with interactive reports in the future.

How to display images by using URLs in Interactive Reporting

Hello everybody,
My client has the Hyperion System 9.3 suite.
We have a report in Interactive Reporting showing product data.
The source for the report is a relational database (SQL Server).
The data is grouped by product.
My client needs the product's picture (jpg) in the report.
The problem is that product images are not available in the relational database but via URL like this:
http://client_domanin//Hyperion/id_product.jpg
(the name of the image equals the id of the product).
I was thinking to solve this problem using Java Script.
I don't know Java Script and don't know how to 'integrate' the JavaScript code with Interactive Reporting.
How should the Java Script look like?
Any help will be extremely appreciated.

You might be able to do it if you are using the iHTML view of the Report not the Interactive Reporting Web Client (Plug-in)
I do not have a 9.x server available to test this so it is guess on how i did it once in a Proof of Concept.
In Results section Create a Computed Item that will be the HTML tag for the Graphic
the syntax would look something like below
'<IMG SRC = "http://client_domanin//Hyperion/" + id_product + ".jpg">'
WHERE id_product is a column in your Data.
Again this will not show a graphic when viewed with Interactive Reporting Web Client or Desktop Client.

Interactive report for Interactions

Hi all,
Creating a report for Interactions using Analytics_Pro business role. I'm using the Interactions report area and am creating a very basic call coding report.
The AHT (handle time) is however represented in Minutes, which is not quite standard for call centers (we usually use seconds). Is there a config required or do I have to play with the cube and add an extra figure that would represent it in seconds, then expose it, then add it to my report area, then add it to my report? (or whatever other steps required)?
I'm on CRM 7.0 EHP 2

Interactive Reporting "Cubes" are defined with the expected fields of usage. When building the Interactive Report if the field is not available as standard then some type of enhancement would be required.

Gramatical Error in Default Interactive Report

When creating an interactive report, by default the maximum number of rows returned is set to 10,000 and the related message is set to:
"This query returns more then 10,000 rows, please filter your data to ensure complete results."
Two problems with this:
1) the word "then" should be "than"
2) this is a run on sentance.
The correct verbage should be:
"This query returns more than 10,000 rows. Please filter your data to ensure complete results."
Can this be put in to the next patch please?

Now, in all good sport, you should have seen this coming:
-- The word run-on is hyphenated.
-- You misspelled sentence.
-- You misspelled verbiage.
The use of the word "verbiage" can be considered disparaging given the primary meaning ascribed to it in most English dictionaries, where it carries the message of superfluity and excessive wordiness (when used to describe a specific set of words in a specific context as opposed to its use to describe more general styles or manners of language use). For this reason, I always refer to "wording" or "language", not "verbiage", in my constructive criticism of certain aspects of writing, not only because of the pejorative connotation of the latter, but to observe the rule that simpler words will usually do.

Interactive Report does not maintain / remain on current page

Fellow APEX gurus,
In my APEX application (APEX 4.0), I have an Interactive Report that displays rows of data and each row has an EDIT link which on clicking pops up a Form (Dynamic HTML Page) on top of the Interactive Report Report.
The problem is -- when on the Interactive Report page, when I navigate to next page of records (Page 2 or above), and EDIT a row on that page, the resulting Form pops up correctly on top of the Interactive Report, however, in the background, the Interactive Report navigates back to Page 1.
There is only one default branch on the Interactive Report page and I have "Save State before branching" checked.
How do I maintain the current Page and not allow APEX to navigate back to the First Page of the Interactive Report?

I already had the Reset Pagination Unchecked. I did uncheck the "save state before branching" but the behavior was the same.
Once again, I have only one "Unconditional" Branch on this page with the following settings:
reset pagination for this page - unchecked
include process success message - checked
save state before branching - checked
Anything else to look for?

Issue with DAD authentication and Interactive Reports

Apex version 3.1.1.00.09
I have an application which is using DAD authentication. Since changing the authentication model I have noticed that I lose some of the Interactive Report functionality specifically the ability to save reports.
Post authentication I can get the user info by calling owa_util.get_cgi_env('REMOTE_USER')
However when I reference V('APP_USER') it returns APEX_PUBLIC_USER. Is this the reason for the loss of interactive report functionality. If so is there a workaround?

When the authentication model is set to Application Express
The user test_sso (which has end user rights only) has the ability to Save Report within an Interactive Report.
When the authentication model is set to DAD
A user who can authenticate against the DAD does not see the option to Save Report in the Interactive Report actions menu.
As a developer when viewing the Interactive report I have the option to Save Report*
Is this correct behaviour? I want the end user to log on to the application seemlessly and still have the ability to save a report.

Emailing Interactive Reports

All,
When emailing an interactive report, I was under the impression that the resultimg email would be a functioning IR.
I just tried and the resulting email (opened with IE7.0) has a search box above the data, but nothing else.
Please advise,

Just re-ran my test case with an IR Report, you are given a search capacity and nothing else... Maybe that is in a coming version, but right now it seems we have what we have...
Maybe you could instead e-mail a link to your users of the IR page and allow them to process that way??

Passing Interactive report item values to flash chart.

I am trying to pass an interactive report item value to a 2D column chart type in the chart query as :IR_EMPNO but the item value comes as null and the chart does not show any data. when I am passing this value to another form item and referencing it in the chart query as :P2_EMPNO, it works fine!! have anyone encountered such problem? Please help.

Unfortunately, I am still getting no data found. (and there IS data).
a) Do you mean in the link column section of the report attributes? that is done: item 1 name= IR_P2_FID, value = #FID#
b) Do you mean my changing my hidden page item to ir_p2_fid with its source value as #FID# ? also done.
Do I need this hidden item?, and if not how do I refer to link in the where clause of the called page's sql region?
3) Where Fishery_id = :IR_P2_FID

Interactive Report Chart Missing Labels

I have a simple horizontal bar chart on an Interactive Report... There are 22 bars but only half of them (11) have labels. Bars 1, 3, 5, 7, etc have labels. If I click on the other bars I can see their labels but this is of no use when printing. The same issue happens frequently in various other charts whenever there are more than a few items to display. Our users have to download the reports to Excel and create the charts there in order to print or make presentations.

The behaviour you are seeing, where not all labels are displayed, is expected given the size of the region the chart is being displayed in and the number of labels you wish to display. AnyChart will automatically handle the display of the labels in this case, and it is not possible to customise an Interactive Report chart to override this behaviour. My suggestion would be that you create a new Chart region, where you have more control over the chart you generate. Please refer to the section Creating Charts - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/app_comp.htm#CHDFEJAB - in Chapter 8 - Adding Application Components of the APEX User's Guide for more information. Once you have generated your chart, you can increase the height of your chart on the Chart Attributes page, and this will allow for the display of additional labels on the X-axis of your chart. Alternatively, you could look at the option of using the AnyChart axis label Stager mode, as outlined in the online AnyChart documentation here: http://anychart.com/products/anychart/docs/users-guide/axes-labels-text-formatting.html#stager. As the mode name suggests, the positioning of the axis labels will be staggered, which will allow for the display of all of your labels without having to adjust the chart height. For your presentations, you can easily create the chart regions on the same page as your existing Interactive Reports, and you'll also have the ability to print the charts, save them as an image or as PDF.
