Chart legend scroll bar

Hi,
i have a chart and legend in a panel..
when there are more than 20+(depends on size of the panel and
in my case it is around 20) legend items, legend items occupies
most of the place and which in turn shrinking chart..(so chart is
not clear in this case).
can i have something like, "add a scroll bar to the legend..,
if it is shrinking the chart more than 50% of the actual size of
panel..??
thanks

You could wrap the legend in a vBox or hBox as

    Kalavati,
    it's all fairly straightforward ActionScript stuff. Create a new ActionScript class derived from Panel. In a suitable handler create the line chart and scroll bar (HScrollbar), position them wherever you want with the x/y/height/width properties, and add them as children (otherwise they won't show up).
    I'm not sure what you're wanting to do with the scroll bar but let's suppose that at the start you show all the x-axis data (which is the default) and have the scrollbar thumb pointer at 100% (ie scrollPosition=maxScrollPosition). Then catch the scroll event. In the handler, work out the percentage across of the current position (this is a whole lot easier if you've set maxScrollPosition=100 to start with), then work out the implied change to the line chart in terms of data values. I don't know if you know in advance the data values or not, but it doesn't really matter. Suppose the horizontal axis is a LinearAxis. keep hold of the data max value along this axis for later use (say max_data_value), then do
    LinearAxis(chart.horizontalAxis).maximum = max_data_value * [the percentage worked out from the scroll bar]

  • Scroll bar on legend for xy graph

    Is there a way to create a scroll bar for the legend of an XY graph?  The number of entries in the legend will be changing programmatically so the legend needs to be able to grow dynamically (which I have figured out how to do using property nodes).  Any ideas?

    Ultimately I will have 6 xy graphs in my vi, I would like to have a seperate scroll bar for the legend of each graph.  Each graphs legend will both grow and shrink as the program runs and I would like to use the scroll bar to keep the legend from growing off of the screen.  I would like to be able to dislpay the data from the point (6 m/s for example) along with its symbol on the xy graph (red dot for example) in the legend.  If I am umderstanding you correctly I need to bundle the type and color of the plot into a cluster with the data and then link that cluster to the scroll bar, I assume I can read the property node for each data point (setting it to active plot first) for both plot style and color?  Let me know if I am thinking about this correctly or if I have misinterpreted what you are saying.  Thank you very much for your help!

  • Sub-charts on same scroll bar

    I have 6 streams of data that I want to plot on waveform charts.  The first 4 have the same y-scaling, so I have them clustered together into a chart.  The other 2 streams have a different y-scaling, so I have them each on their own chart.  All 6 share the same time data, though.
    Is there a way to cluster them all together into one chart that is partially overlayed (the first 4) and partially stacked (the last 2)?  Ideally, something that looks similar to the screen capture I've attached, but with one x-scroll bar at the bottom that scrolls all 4 plots together.
    Thanks!

  • Chart scroll bar

    How to display horizontal scroll bar in chart? If you have large number of data that should be displayed, it is useful to have scroll bar - otherwise you cannot see anything...

    Hi all,
    I am working with graphs.And many of my graphs include a number of plots.
    Because of the increased number of plots,many of the plot names can not be in the plot legend palette as it beyond the visible area.
    Is there any way to program a scroll bar's movement attached to the plot legend palette?

  • I just upgraded to MS Project Professional 2013 desktop from 2010 desktop. My horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of my gantt chart has disappeared. How do I get it back? Thanks. (The option "Show scroll bars" is checked).

    will not let me attach a screenprint

    Hi Dale,
    Everything was maximized so that wasn't it. When I went into another project schedule it did not happen at all.
    This was a dumb user error problem. :-(  The horizontal scroll bar disappeared because all the columns fit on the screen so there was nothing to scroll. However I wanted to stretch out the most far right column (the Notes column) so that it would print
    nicely on legal landscape paper and it wouldn't let me. Of course I fixed it by widening a different column which brought the horizontal scroll bar back.
    What's weird is I never had this problem with MSP 2010 (probably just coincidentally) so of course I wanted to blame 2013 since I just got it. :-)
    Thanks for your help.

  • Scrollable APEX chart legends

    I'm using various apex charts for a dashboard application, and am utilizing the legend. However, on some of the charts, the dynamically generated legend has numerous items that exceed the height of the chart region. I noticed a scrollable tag in the xml, which would be ideal, but when I set it to yes it just displays a non-functioning scroll bar, and adding width and heighth parameters doesn't seem to change anything. Does anyone have any suggestions for this?
    Thanks!

    You can't get axis scale variables to work in the APEX declaritive GUI because it's not designed for that. You will have to switch to custom XML.
    Set everything you want -- that you can set -- because once you switch to XML, if you switch back I think you lose all those custom settings. Then when you set Custom to "Yes", drag the window widget to enlarge the window so you can edit more easily.
    Find the y_xis section of the XML.
            <axes>
              <y_axis >
                <scale   mode="Normal"    />

    <minor_grid enabled="True">
                  </minor_grid>
              </y_axis>You want to change the scale line between <y_axis>   </y_axis> to
    <scale mode="Normal"  maximum="100" minimum="0" />Or maybe it's just <scale maximum="100" minimum="0" />Except instead of constants, you want variables. I'm not sure you can use bind variable (:P7_YMAX, :P7_YMIN) you may have to use (#YMAX#, #YMIN#) variables.
    I would make a new page and experiment with some VERY simple data -- maybe constants in a SELECT -- SELECT ..., 1, 2, 3 from dual ...... until you get what works.
    And, again. This assumes you decide on some computation to compute the values of (:P7_YMAX, :P7_YMIN) or (#YMAX#, #YMIN#) you want it to use.

  • SSRS Hide one data value label in chart legend

    Is it possible  to hide one value in the legend? I've got a stacked bar chart, but there's one value that I don't want to display in the Legend. Is it possible to hide this particular color and label in the legend?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    Yes. In Reporting Services 2005, you could add a filter to hide one value label in the chart legend. This can be done with the following instructions:
    In Report Designer, open the chart properties dialog box and go to Data tab.
    Double click the item in the Series groups to open the Grouping and Sorting Properties dialog box.
    Switch to the Filter tab. Add a filter using the following setting:
    Expression: =Fields!<FieldName>.value
    Operaiton: !=
    Value: =”value”
    If you have any further questions, please let me know.
    Thanks.

  • Chart Legend issues

    Is there a way to force a Bar Chart legend in Crystal Report 11.5 to display its objects in a particular order?
    For Example, say I am reporting on the consumption of "Bananas" and "Apples" by State. The Bar Chart should display the percentage of people who eat these fruits by county (Percent Bar Chart). The "Apples" percentage always displays on top of the bar chart and the "Bananas" on the bottom. The legend for this graph also displays the "Apple" color first, then the "Banana" color. However, if the "Banana" percentage is 0% the legend displays the "Banana" color first on the legend. This creates a inconsistent report (with plenty of complaints).
    I would like the "Banana" color to always display second in the legend. Hope I didn't confuse anyone and any ideas would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance!

    Can you post an example .rpt (saved with data)?
    I can throw it up in the debugger and see what's going on.

  • Arranging Chart Legend Items

    Is there a way to change the sort or arrangement of items in a chart legend? I am doing a simple stacked bar chart with 2 measures - % Pass and % Fail (for a school system), but it always shows % Fail as the first item in the legend. I would like to show % Pass first...is there any way?
    Thanks

    hi,
    We can do using combine with similar request
    Col A Col B '%Pass' 1--Req 1
    Col A Col B '%Fail' 2 --Req 2
    Asc order on numbers(1,2) .So that the legends will come %pass and %fail try it in pivot table
    I didn't tried this but i hope it ll work...All the best

  • Pie Chart legend label icon

    Hi, is it possible to change the label icons of a Pie Chart legend? I have a pie chart with genre distribution % and would like to set the male and female genre icons instead of the color.
    Thank you

    Hello Pedro,
    in general you can' t change the label icons in SSRS - I assume you mean with "label icons" the small colored rectangles indicating each of the sections in a pie chart. But I have a workaround for you: Simply not to use the build-in labeling mechanism
    of the chart, but to create an individual textbox with the needed symbols for your purposes. In that textbox you have to set an expression for showing the needed male or female symbols as Unicode-chars. There's a text function for that, I mean something like
    "=ChrW(&XXX)" is the appropriate expression. XXX has to be the character string of the Unicode-chartset, if you want e.g. the male symbol as an icon. Unfortunately, I can't post links, but it's quite easy to find via Bing or Google the needed
    chars or signs in the Unicode-Table (use e.g. "Unicode table" as search string and you find a great site for retrievaling chars and symbols in the Unicode-Table).
    Generally spoken, I wouldn't use pie charts at all, normally bar charts are the better choice in visualizing data - with bar charts it's easier to recognize skales than in a pie chart and you can often label bars in a direct way, so you don't need an extra
    legend.
    I hope I could help you, but feel free to ask me, if yo have further questions

  • Chart legend too wide when using horizontal layout

    I am using a flex chart with about 15 series on it. I've set
    the legend direction variable to "horizontal". However since the
    panel width which contains the chart is fixed, the legend sprawls
    out to the right instead of going "wrapping around" nicely to stay
    within the panel. As a result, you can't read the whole legend when
    looking at the chart. The chart itself stays the proper width, but
    the legend is too wide and can only be seen via using the scrollbar
    to move horizontally. How can that be fixed?

    Solerous, you must create a custom legend. Here's an example
    that uses a grid to lay out the individual grid items. If you have
    a variable number of series, then you can probably come up with
    better logic for laying out the legend, but this should help get
    you going.
