Charts Linking To Charts

I know this is not a new problem, but I haven't found a viable solution on the web to seems like what would be a fairly common problem.
In using <cfchart>, ColdFusion does not allow you to pass a primary key to the url page.  Instead, you are forced to put primary key type information in the ITEMLABEL field, which results in terrible looking charts.
instead of this:
  url=&quot;next_chart.cfm?item=#primary_key#&series=$serieslabel$&value=$value$&quot;
I would like this:
  url=&quot;next_chart.cfm?item=$itemlabel$&series=$serieslabel$&value=$value$&theid=$prima ry_key$&quot;
This is a significant oversight in ColdFusion in my opinion.  I have customers who wonder why I am displaying nonsensical integer values in my charts, when I am forced to because I need those values there to support the url drill-downs, as you can see in the example chart I downloaded.
Instead of 13 and 26, it should be able to read Cell Phone Spend and VOIP Spend, and I should be able to pass the 13 and 26 as primary keys via a new mechanism.
I hope this is fixed in CF9.  I know ColdFusion acknowledged this as an issue back in 2004.
