Checking database connectivitty from application server

Hello All,
I am installing Peoplesoft on Oracle Linux 6.3 but the database server is running on a different windows server. I have created the Peoplesoft database already using peoplesoft client tools(Data mover, config manager) installed on the same windows server. So now I want to verify the connectivity to the database running on windows server from app server installed on Linux.
In the peoplesoft installation guide, I didn't find the sufficient instructions to do so :
Before continuing, it is critical to verify connectivity to the database that the application server domain will use. To verify connectivity, connect to the database server from the >application server using the native SQL tool on the application server.
For Oracle use SQL*Plus.Which SQL tool is it talking about and where I can find it? I have already searched inside $TUX_HOME/bin directory but didn't find any.

Thanks, The problem is that I am not able to install Oracle DB client 11.0.3 in Oracle Linux 6.3 so I though may be tuxedo have such client which could help me connecting to database.
Isn't there any way we can connect without DB client?

When i am trying to upload it is taking me to dump and the errpr analysis is like
"The program attempted to interpret the value "26 0 " as a number, but
since the value contravenes the rules for correct number formats,
this was not possible."

Thats the line feed character. After reading the application server file, use this
data: lv_feed type c value CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF.
loop at itab.
replace all occurrences of lv_feed in itab-field with space.
modify itab.

Use of Open and close data set in to pick up files from application server

As per my earlier posts i m making a programm which will pick excel sheet from application server and make auto PR by bapi and this all process will be handle by background processing (SM36, SM37). My concer is all proces are working fine but my files are not been picked by application server , when run on my own machine everything is working fine.I never used OPENDATA SET command before , so i have no idea how it will be used , can anyone provide me details with my set of codes where it should be used ....

If you are sending an email, the receiver type should be U (internet mail address type). From your code it appears that you have input it as 'A'. I am not sure if the error message is related to this. Have you checked in transaction SOST, whether an email has been triggered from your program? At what point of execution is this error message triggered?

How to delete the Generated files from application server(open hub)?

hi experts,
when i try to execute process chain the DTP it is giving below dump. Exception CX_RSBK_REQUEST_LOCKED logged.
when i execute the DTP manually and trying to delete the previous request, it is giving for dump ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY.
so to delete the generated file from application server, how to delete it for specific dates?

Termination occurred in the ABAP program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM" - in
"START_ROUTINE".
The main program was "RSBATCH_EXECUTE_PROZESS ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 2874
of the (Include) program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM".
The program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM" was started as a background job.
and when i check the dump it is point out at below code

You can check the mode in which you are reading the file
from application server that is
Open Dataset in Binary or Text Mode.

Reading tab delimited file from application server

I do know that we need to use Open data set to read a file from application server, but my question is when you use read DATASET v_file into wa_final - this wa_final is an work area and also i have mentione an internal table. so do we need to Split the record at tab into the corresponding fields. Append the records into an internal table i_input.????

first see the file contents in application server, how the contents whether the contents seperated by any symbol or not, if the contents seperated by any symbol then you have to split the data before appending to internal table.
check this code.

Update Rule - error ABORT was set in the customer routine 9998
Error 1 in the update
Please help me to provide the solution.

Problem in uploading file from Application Server

i got a problem in uplaoding a file from application server.i am having two folder (one folder name is current and another one is processed)in application server. In current folder i am having N no of files.I want to upload all the files names into one internal table and i want to process one by one file.After processing each file the file should be moved to processed folder and the files should not exist in current folder.All these process must be done everyday.Please rectify my problem asap.

I have a file on application serverin T-code AL11(sap directories).I want to bring the data from this file to my report.

Use open data set with input for reading the file from application server .......... output is to write the file onto the application server

Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program

Hi All,
I have a issue related Fetching of multiple files from Application Server into SAP Program.
Actual issue is as below.
In the selection screen of my program i will give Application Server Path as :
/PW/DATA/SAP/D1S/PP/DOWN/eppi0720*
Then the based on above input it should pick up all the files that are matching eppi0720* criteria.
Suppose if i am having 5 files with above scenario, i have to fetch all those 5 files at a time and place in my SAP Program.
All those 5 file's data should come into SAP at a time.
Can anybody tell me how can we solve above issue.
If any body has come across same issue please provide me with solution.

Open documents/files from Application Server in forms 6i

Hello All,
Our requirement is to open files that are in Application server( We do not want to upload them into database).
Is there a way to open this files from forms 6i.
I am wondering how the "View Output" or View log button works on the concurrent program submission form. Its the doing the same thing i.e pulling the file from Application server and showing up.
Please let me know if anyone has any ideas on how to get this done.

I assume you are using Forms 6i in web mode here. Then it is just a URL to the file if you properly map to a directory where you store the files:
web.show_document('http://...../myfile.pdf');
But it also looks like you are using Oracle Apps, so might want to ask it in the e-Business Suite.
