Choice problem

Helo, forum.
Help, plese with my problem.
I have following situation:
Master with two details. One of the first detail VO attributes must be shown as drop-down list. (Layout style for this detail VO is table-form)
JHeadstart created lookup for this attribute. This choice work fine if i set lookup display attribute as
primary key attribute, but if i set another attribute of lookup as display attribute then drop down list is shown as list with right selected row but
without values (all rows of list are empty, but row wich must be current is selected).
If i copy detail group and paste it as base group in the application structure file editor, and generate the application then drop-down list of base group page work fine.
But i need this drop-down list in detail group.

Sorry, ignore this.
I don't know why but JDeveloper just don't rebuild my project when i run it. (Does anibody know how to solve this problem? )
After rebuilding all works fine.

    I am not sure how much can I help, but you can send the snapshot to the following email Id: [email protected]

  • Ext3+dir_index vs JFS, XFS, ReiserFS. Choice problem

    I'm a linux noob.
    Going to install Archlinux to new laptop Inspiron 1520
    Right now playing with Archlinux on vmware.
    I want my laptop be fast, and of course choosing right FS is important in this regard.
    Let me sum up all i read so far about different FS.
    ext3 vs XFS, JFS, ReiserFS:
    - ext3 is most stable, most supported. But also slowest.
    - XFS, JFS, Reiser are much faster, but have stability and or support problems.
    - ext3 with dir_index is fast, almost as fast as others.
    - noatime,nodiratime considerably improve performance of all these FS
    So here are my questions.
    1. Will ext3 + dir_index + noatime,nodiratime be up to the par with XFS,JFS ?
    2. Does disr_index enabled by default on latest Arch or do I have to enable it manually ?
    3. What other advantages besides speed JFS,XFS have comparing to ext3 ?

    lucke wrote:Fragmentation can be an issue. <snip>....<snip>s impact on performance.
    Yes indeed fragmentation can cause a significant penalty in performance, especially if you are copying large, very fragmented files. But for a desktop system people usually deal with smaller files than ones downloaded in large torrents; at least that was my impression for my previous post. The thing about XFS being designed as it is, is that it doesn't handle fragmentation of large files well. Basically, the extensive use it makes of B+ trees make it particularly cpu intensive for working with reads that are non-continuous and hence is particularly hurt when copying highly fragmented, large files. This isn't quite as pronounced in JFS (but the performance hit is there) because it's cpu usage isn't as high as XFS; and it's algorithms are more optimized for working with smaller continuous reads than XFS (to my understanding). This is probably the main reason why XFS has a defragmentor and JFS does not.
    One thing that fragmentation of a JFS filesystem will have a major effect on is performance of a VMware virtual machine whose image is highly fragmented on JFS. I mentioned this in the wiki article. If you use VMware with a growing image, I recommend somewhat regular defragmenting of the JFS partition, otherwise the VM will be significantly impeded. I imagine this situation is true for other file systems other than JFS. Also, if you torrent frequently with large files, then I would suggest regular JFS defragmenting in this scenario as well.
    Gullible Jones wrote:Re JFS data loss: bug reports have been filed. See here and here.
    The first report is most likely due to the fact that JFS journals metadata only. This is also the case with XFS, Reiser, and ext3 (with the popular journal=writeback implementation). Caching data losses like the first bug report seems to describe what has been known to happen with other file systems on linux and not JFS. Nonetheless, JFS has never hidden the fact that it journals metadata only as journaling both metadata and actual file data incurs a big performance hit.
    The second bug report could easily be a hardware failure. Indeed with both the log and no inodes being dumped to the lost+found directory, I would not jump to judgment that this was necessarily a JFS issue as that would imply JFS failing in SEVERAL different places. It is more likely that the issue was one with hardware.
    As I said before, neither one of these show that JFS conclusively looses files in its own right. If you really require journaling of both metadata and file data, then ext3 is the only option for linux (with no journaling /etc/fstab optimizations); JFS and other journaling file systems don't do this as it significantly reduces performance.
    Anyway, I am done going on about this; if people are hellbent on believing JFS looses files, so be it. Personally, I have never had a data loss issue with JFS despite years of use and abuse in the spectrum of possible hardware and software configurations.

  • Show Info choices problem

    Using V2.6 and trying to customize to show certain info about an image when in Loupe view.  It seems that if I choose to have the brief display checked on Info 1, LR chooses to show the info items described in Info 2 no matter what I do.  Is that by design or am I missing something?  Here's what I mean -
    Show info overlay - not checked
    Info 1 choices : filename, capture date time, common photo settings  Show briefly... is checked
    Info 2 choices : filename, megapixels, common photo settings  Show briefly... is NOT checked
    General - Show message....  is checked.
    Now - when in loupe view the info displays for about 10 secs and goes away BUT - it is the info listed in the Info 2 choices, not Info 1 where the Show Briefly box was checked.  I know this because I'm seeing megapixels and not the file date/time choice that I made in Info 1's choices.

    I tried that but all that does is turn on info permanently rather than the "show briefly" effect I was looking
    for.  Still shows the wrong info set.
    btw - I edited my spam filter to prevent that annoying message!

  • HELP!!! Reading Character Problem

    I have encounter this problem when i doing my assignment, the coding looks like below
    do
    do
         Display("\n\tBook Rental System\n");
         Display("\n\t[1]\tStock\n");
         Display("\n\t[2]\tMember\n");
         Display("\n\t[3]\tRental\n");
         Display("\n\t[4]\tExit\n");
         Display("\nPlease Enter Your Choice : ");
         //problem below
    choice = readChar();
         readChar();
         readChar();
    }while(choice!='1'&&choice!='2'&&choice!='3'&&choice!='4');
    MenuSwitch(choice);
    }while(choice!='4');
    the problem is when the program accept user choice,
    if the user is enter more than one characters,
    the program will continue displaying the same page,
    no matter any other keys I enter, the same page still looping,
    any solution to solve this problem?

    You're only reading the first character, and the second and third characters you're throwing away. Are you doing that for the carriage return and newline?
    You may want to look at using a BufferedReader and making your program take whole strings of user input.
    That's all the advice I have without putting more effort into it.

  • Applet or web-start? How can I package a memory intensive app?

    Dear All,
    I'm new here - I'm learning about Java with a particular project in mind, and looking for advice from people with more experience before I start coding! Your opinions would be very useful.
    I would like to write a small scientific application, to be distributed by the web, easy to run as a normal user (without administrator rights), with a good GUI. So Java sounds very good for this. However, the application will be very memory intensive (and quite CPU intensive) with several large arrays. It may require ~1 to 2 Gb of memory at times. I have three simple questions:
    1) If I write it as an applet, will my users hit memory 'heap size' limits when they try and run it if it tries to use ~1 Gb memory? Can I control this?
    2) If I write it using JNLP (e.g. Sun's Java Web-Start), will my users get memory limit errors if my application tries to use ~1 Gb memory? Can I control this?
    3) If more and more people start using the Java browser plugin, will they get Web-Start installed at the same time? Or will Web-start become less common?
    Any other advice about this choice, problems with web-start or resource hungry applets would also be gratefully received.
    With thanks and best regards,
    andy_g
    (PS: I'm not worried about the performance of Java compared to other languages - I'm worried about hitting memory limits imposed by the JVM settings or Java language!)

    Hi ChuckBing,
    Thanks for your reply - it's given me some valuable information. In light of your post I think I'm going to try a very simple test code which does some simple operations with representative big arrays and see if I can get that working well on a range of machines before I spend time writing the real thing. I hadn't appreciated the need for contiguous memory in the Java heap.
    As for comparing JNLP and applet memory control, after another intensive bout of google searching, I found more information about controlling heap size for applets at:
    https://jdk6.dev.java.net/plugin2/jnlp/
    From my (novice) reading of this page, it seems that from 1.6 you can now control the heap available to an applet in a similar manner to JNLP. I've added this link in case other people stumble across this post with a similar questions about applet memory limits.
    Thanks again,
    andy_g

  • Setting XML based exam to where there are two correct answers in a question

    I have an exam which pulls in questions from an XML file and to indicate what the correct answer is you would indicate in the XML as such:
    PROBLEM id="1">
                    <QUESTION>What is the State Capital of California:</QUESTION>
                    <CHOICE letter="a">San Fransisco.</CHOICE>

I thinking I need to make an adjustment in the code that pulls in the XML, but not sure where. Hoping someone can help.

  • MacBook Pro 13,3 i7 2.7 GHz or iMac 21.5 2.5 GHz i5+iPad 2

    Hello to everyone,
    I'm thinking to buy new Apple equipment. At the moment, it is in the table two choices:
    Choice 1:
    - 1 MacBook Pro 13.3, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
    Choice 2:
    - 1 iMac 21.5, 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5, and
    - 1 iPad 2
    I need to use a Projector to make some presentations. I make my presentations using PDF's because this format is "universal". However, i don't know if iPad works great when we want to use a Projector and make presentation using PDF's. I appreciate if someone could help me with my choice problem. Thanks.

    Hi f,
    Why not post in the iPad forums where you're much more likely to find iPad experts? Good luck.

  • Problem with primaryClientAction for choice controls

    I have a large UIX based application based on templates. Now what I need to do is support partial page rendering using the primaryClientAction tag for any type of control e.g. textInput, checkBox, datePickeer and also choice.
    So what we are going to do is use our existing templates for all the basic controls and add the child tags for the client action:
    <fti:dropDown selectedValue="test" data:options="test@fti:domValues" name="test" id="test">
    <primaryClientAction>
    <firePartialAction event="submit" formSubitted="true" targets="test2 test3"/>
    </primaryClientAction>
    </fti:dropDown>
    the template for fti:dropDown looks like that:
    <list>
         <attributeMap><rootAttributeMap/></attributeMap>
         <childMap><rootChildMap/></childMap>
         <contents data:childData="options@ui:rootAttr">
         <option data:text="text" data:value="value" data:selected="selected"/>
         </contents>
    </list>
    Now this primaryClientAction tag is ignored by uix. Interestingly the same code works fine for all other controls (e.g datePicker, textInput, checkBox) only for <list>, <choice>, <messageList> etc. it does not work.
    Now my question:
    How is this primaryClientAction tag meant to be used with uix templates - how can I pass it into the template?
    What can I do about this?

    ok I found the problem - in my template it said:
    <type base="ui:choice">
    In this case the primaryCleintAction child is not parsed.
    thanks

    Roadrunner is POP email, and the feature you are looking for
    is a function of IMAP email. Roadrunner has not announced
    any plans to make IMAP available. If this is important to you,
    get a gmail account (which can be setup as IMAP)  and configure
    your Roadrunner account to automatically forward emails to the
    gmail account.

    Is there anyone there? I hope there is someone who can you understand this problem and have the common sense to respond?
    I open gmail. I want to save an email to one of my folders.
    I position my cursor over the appropriate Folder icon or by choice, to the Trash.
    The friendly finger pointing cursor icon changes to an arrow icon.
    The hand icon allows me flawless access to opening and/or moving emails.
    The arrow, however does not open the link.
    On the Google menu bar the cursor hand with finger opens the links to Everett (my name), Search, Images, Maps and Play.
    When I attempt to open the remaining links in the menu bar (YouTube, News, Gmail, Drive, Calendar and More) the arrow icon replaces the hand. The arrow icon does not work. It will not activate these links.  Nor does it open email messages in the Inbox.
    Usually I reset, even reboot Safire and sometimes the problem goes away, then reappears.
    Can you imagine if this condition should it happen to a tech savvy Google Support person? Perhaps one can share and make my problem go away.
    I am considering dropping Google as my mail source. Unfortunate!

    I have uninstalled my Access Connection, but this problem seems to persist. IBM technician have changed the wireless card of my T60, the first few days after it was changed was very fine, no problem at all. About a week later, the problem occured again, and it happened quite frequently after that occurence. Now i really have no idea what is the cause and how to solve it. Will be greatful if there is anyone that can help me.

  • Generating a new table based on user choices - Code Problems

    A while ago someone posted on one of the Adobe forums the following code (sorry I do not remember the name / link). This code is meant to generate a second table (an Object list in this case) according to the user’s choices at another table (in this case a dropdown list):
    form1.TableA.TableTitles.Row1.DropDownList1::change - (JavaScript, client)
    var str_itemtext = xfa.event.newText;
    var olist2 = xfa.resolveNode("form1.TableA.TableTitles.Row2.ListBox2");
    var arrayADVS = new Array("Acad", "Disp", "Advs");
    var arrayCD = new Array("Proj-", "HRS");
    if (str_itemtext == "ADVS") {
    makelist(olist2, arrayADVS);
    olist2.presence = "visible";
    else if (str_itemtext == "CD"){
    makelist(olist2, arrayCD);
    olist2.presence = "visible";
    function makelist(olist, arrayitem) {
    var i = 0;
    olist.clearItems();
    for (i = 0; i < arrayitem.length; i ++){
    olist.addItem(arrayitem[i], arrayitem[i]);
    I made a couple of minor changes but generally preserved the original code and it seemed to work fine. The problem arises after the completed form is saved:- the “object list” (second table) disappears even though I set it as visible. I tried changing the Type (from user entered required to read only) but to no avail.
    Could someone please help me figure out what is wrong with this code? Why does this Object List object disappears after the form is saved?
    Thanks.

    If you could post the form or send a copy to [email protected] I would be happy to take a look, otherwise, it is hard to diagnose.

    Well, how have to determined no signal is being recieved to your mac?
    Have you got something that shows the actual signal? Or have you just been trying to control a VST? What software are you using by the way?
    I personnally went with a AKAI MPK25, because it's made already mapped for logic & ableton etc, so it just makes things incredibly easy.
    I would suggest you return it if you can as a dead unit & perhaps look at something else a bit easier?
    Otherwise, if you just want to get this working we can have a look a bit deeper.
    And driver? OS X driver?
