ChooseFromListUID is always -1 in find mode

Hi,
Can I create ChooseFromList in a system form that is opened in FIND mode? I want to know if there is a way to do it because every time I create ChooseFromList in FIND mode the ChooseFromListUID always has value -1, instead of UID that I gave.
Thank you.

Hi Slamet
By definition the choose from list will not work in find mode. SAP's reason is that if you have something in find mode you are on a system for or and UDO and they will provide you with the automatic Choose from lists.

  • 11G: Search form always in Find Mode?

    Hi,
    We are trying to re-do a search form that is always in Find mode. Shoud we follow what we do for 10.1.3 or there is new document we should follow?
    Thanks,
    Annie

    Neelmani,
    Thank you for pointing out the PDF file. I was wondering if you know oracle has any sample application talks about how to create a "Search Form" using named view criteria. I've read the PDF file chapter 25 and chapter 5.10. They only talk about it in general - meaning no detailed steps on how to do it. This 11G is a brand new product. I am no stranger to Jdev since I've been working with Jdeveloper for a couple of years. But still this version is a complete different version. A detailed step by step instruction would be really helpful at this point.

  • How to use CFL in Business Partners Master in Find Mode

    Hi,
    I have a problem in Business Partners Master Form. I need add conditions in Choose From List in Find Mode when I set an asterisk in the CardCode TextField for filtering the businnes partners list.
    When I capture the et_CHOOSE_FROM_LIST itemEvent in BeforeAction, I can't get the ChooseFromList ID for adding the conditions in the ChooseFromList Object.
    Sample Code:
    Public Sub ItemEvent(ByVal FormUID As String, pVal As SAPbouiCOM.IItemEvent, BubbleEvent As Boolean)
          Select Case pVal.EventType
                Case et_CHOOSE_FROM_LIST:
                    Dim lcflE As SAPbouiCOM.ChooseFromListEvent
                    Dim id As String
                    Set lcflE = pVal
                    id = lcflE.ChooseFromListUID -> The ID is "-1"
          End If
    End Sub
    Thank's in advance
    Best Regards

    Hello Rafea,
    if you can't get it via lcflE.ChooseFromListUID -> The ID is "-1",I guess you need to know choosefromlist UID by test one by one with oForm.ChooseFromLists.Item(i). Or you can save the fom as xml then chech the CFL UID.
    If pVal.FormType = 139 And pVal.EventType = SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_CHOOSE_FROM_LIST Then
                If pVal.ItemUID = "4" Then
                    If pVal.InnerEvent And pVal.Before_Action Then
                        BubbleEvent = False
                        Dim oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form
                        oForm = SBO_Application.Forms.Item(FormUID)
                        Dim oCons As SAPbouiCOM.Conditions
                        Dim oCFL As SAPbouiCOM.ChooseFromList
                        'oCFL = oCFLs.Add(oCFLCreationParams)
                        oCFL = oForm.ChooseFromLists.Item("2")
                        oCons = oCFL.GetConditions()
                        'Note: Add the condition only once.
                        If 0 = oCons.Count Then
                            Dim oCon As SAPbouiCOM.Condition
                            oCon = oCons.Add()
                            oCon.Alias = "Cardcode"
                            oCon.Operation = SAPbouiCOM.BoConditionOperation.co_EQUAL
                            oCon.CondVal = "C0001"
                            'Set your own condition here instead of the system conditions
                            oCFL.SetConditions(oCons)
                        End If
                        BubbleEvent = True
                    End If
                End If

  • ChooseFromList on Grid not opening in Find mode

    I have added a system CFL (i.e. Business Partner) to a Grid on a custom form. The CFL does not open when the form is in Find mode, but it does open when the form is in Add or Update mode. Is this a bug?
    Example C# Code
                    oColumn.Type = SAPbouiCOM.BoGridColumnType.gct_EditText;
                    oEditTextColumn = (SAPbouiCOM.EditTextColumn)oColumn;
                    oColumn.Editable = true;
                    oEditTextColumn.ChooseFromListUID = CFL_CARD_CODE_UID;
                    oEditTextColumn.ChooseFromListAlias = "CardCode";
                    oColumn.TitleObject.Caption = "Distribution Center (=)";

    Hello Catherine,
    It is a system behavior, not a bug. In find mode, the end user should enter the text by manual for searching. You can refer to Sales Order, switch to find mode, the CFL for BP won't list the BPs.
    Kind Regards

  • Making a "SelectOne" list on a Read Only VO in Find mode

    I have a simple search page. The page is built on one VO - that is RO. One attribute/column of this VO is a type field - which I have a lookup VO for.
    The search form goes directly to find mode. The column I want to define the simple "Select One" method for is of course part of the Read Only VO, but in find mode I can easily type in the field and the search works great.
    When I try to create the dropdown (Select One) ADF complains and says it's a Read Only attribute and that I cannot use it to assign values to. This is correct - however in Find mode it's not read only.
    So is there a way to bypass this problem?

    Well, gladly I can report I solved this myself.
    Makes little sense though - when I created the Read Only VO, I "had fun" and changed the attributes of the VO to "no change". That should be given, since the VO is read only. However, that was what caused the issue. The update is set for "Always" now, and while the view is still read only, I have the drop down working perfectly.

  • Query for Find Mode Fails-AutoGenerated WHERE clause missing quotation mark

    Using Oracle JDev 10.1.3.2. In 'Find Mode' the query execution fails.
    The error shown below is caused by the WHERE clause statement. The column name is quoted in the database but the code generated by the ADF framework does not use quotes. As a result the column name is illegal. Is there a way to hint to the ADF framework to ALWAYS use quotation marks?
    (oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException) JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement: SELECT * FROM (SELECT "PLATE","WROW","WCOL","WFIELD","AVGNUC.NUC_CELL_INTENSITY","MEDNUC.NUC_CELL_INTENSITY","AVGORG.INCLUSION_BCKG_INTE","MEDORG.INCLUSION_BCKG_INTE","MEDORG.COUNT","MEDORG.SPACING","MEDORG.NEIGHBOR_COUNT" FROM ICSUMSTAS_1888_295) QRSLT WHERE ( ( (MEDORG.COUNT >0) ) )

    It is true that these are not the most column 'friendly' names, but they are what they are. In the database these columns are quoted and they must be so in order for the query to work correctly.
    The suggestion of directly manipulating the View Criteria is a good one and I have implemented a solution based on it but it's cumbersome. Here is how it works:
    First, use the default query mode UI to add new View Criteria. If you were to execute the query at this point it would fail due to the columns names not being quoted. So, instead, implemented my own execute query button that first uses the View Criteria to create a properly quoted WhereClause for the ViewObject.
    I then reset the ViewCriteria (or they will interfere with the WhereClause), set the custom constructed WhereClause on the ViewObject, and re-execute the query. The cumbersome part is that I have to create my own parser for user input to write a valid WhereClause. And when the user uses query mode again the previously set ViewCriteria have been reset (which is annoying, and not the typical query mode behavior which might confuse the user)
    below are some of my code snippets:
    * This action is triggered by clicking the FIND button on the UI.
    * It uses a combination of the ViewCriteria default UI and custom code that processes
    * user input into a whereClause for the ViewObject
    private void jbFind_actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
    jbAddRow.setEnabled(false);
    //reset old where clause
    System.out.println("OLD WHERE:"+myView.getWhereClause());
    myView.setWhereClause(null);
    String customWhere=getCustomWhere();
    /* The case for null and blank View Criteria is tested below
    * when there are blank ViewCriteria the sequence (--) is generated from getCustomWhere
    * Note the use of contains instead of equals
    * The use of equalIgnoreCase etc for unexplained reasons seem to fail to detect when customWhere is (--)
    if(customWhere==null||customWhere.contains("(--)")){
    return;
    }else{
    /*remove ViewCriteria because they can not handle special Column names
    * That's why we go into the trouble of creating our own find function
    myView.getViewCriteria().removeAllElements();
    myView.setWhereClause(customWhere);
    myView.executeQuery();
    jUNavigationBar1.doAction(JUNavigationBar.BUTTON_EXECUTE);
    jTable1.revalidate();
    private String getCustomWhere(){
    StringBuffer custom=new StringBuffer();
    ApplicationModule am = (ApplicationModule) panelBinding.getApplication().getDataProvider();
    DCJboDataControl jbodc = new DCJboDataControl(am);
    JUIteratorBinding iterBinding = new JUIteratorBinding(jbodc,myView );

  • How to escape a single quote in a find mode view

    Hello,
    I'm working with JDeveloper 10g.
    I've defined a view that is used in "find mode" in a JSP.
    When a value with a single quote is inserted in a field of the search form, an exception is thrown:
    JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation.
    ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis.
    The problem is that the "single quote" is not being escaped:
    WHERE STREET LIKE 'ABAT ESCARRE, DE L'A'
    How could I force the view to escape the "single quote"?
    Thanks

    Arrest the single quote by calling a javascript method.

  • Problem with "find" mode in adf/swing application

    Hi all,
    I'm working on ADF Swing application which uses MS SQL Server 2005 (JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3)
    I think that my issue might be well-known…sorry if it has been already discussed somewhere else…
    I have a problem with the “find” mode for a detail panel in a master-detail form…(To make it clear the “find” mode is switched on when clicking on the special button on a navigation panel).
    So this mode works well in a master panel, but it demonstrates strange behavior on a detail panel, i.e. it takes me two attempts to find the necessary child object and it doesn’t switch back in a simple way from this mode to the normal mode….say if we are in the department 10 (Dept is a master form) we can’t simply find KING employee (Emp is a detail form)…is there any workaround for this?
    Thanks in advance. Alex.

  • How to look at a query string from Nav Bar Find Mode

    I would like to view the resultant query string from the Navigavtion Bar's Find Mode. I am using a Master/Detail and am querying with the selection criteria from the detail only.
    I am getting unexpected results, and would just like to SEE what the query string IS.
    Thanks

    I am getting unexpected results, and would just like to SEE what the query string IS.Run your app with diagnostic output turned on. Here's the instructions for that.
    To turn on diagnostic, go to the IDE,
    1. Select the project.
    2. Do right mouse click and select "Project Settings..."
    3. On the Settings dialog, select Configurations/Runner.
    4. In the righthand side pane, you should see a textbox for "Java
    Options". Please add the following JVM switch:
    -Djbo.debugoutput=console
    Then, rerun. The run command should include
    -Djbo.debugoutput=console as in
    "D:\JDev9i\jdk\bin\javaw.exe" -Djbo.debugoutput=console -classpath ...
    You should now see a lot more output on the IDE's message window.
    This should also include the findmode query that gets built after you hit the execute button from a findmode panel.

  • ADF Faces w/ADF BC: Bug(?) w/null values in drop down list in find mode

    Using JDev 10.1.3.0.4.
    I have a page that shows a single record. The user can toggle between regular and Find mode to enter query by example criteria.
    One of the fields has been bound to a dynamic list. The "No Selection" Item in the List Binding Editor is set to "Selection Required".
    When editing a record, this list does not have an empty item. When the user enters find mode, the list has an empty item in the list - which makes sense since the user might not want to search on a value in that particular field.
    However, if the user enters find mode, selects an item from the list, executes the query (Execute action), and enters find mode again then the empty item no longer shows up in the list. Is this a bug?
    (Note - there is an easy workaround - if you delete and create in find mode, then the new critieria record has the list fixed with an empty item in it.)

  • Cover Flow doesn't alway work in finder windows...

    Hi,
    I have several folders full of photos, most of them are .jpegs. When I open a folder in a finder window I have my standard views displayed at the top:(Icons/List / In columns / Cover Flow). When I click the cover flow button sometimes it will show my photos properly and other times it just shows a blank sheet with .jpeg written on it.
    Any ideas why sometimes it work correctly and other times it doesn't??
    Thanks,
    Gary

    I've noticed this occasionally myself, and discovered that there are actually two different problems. One, which is fixable, is that occasionally I run into folders where I get generic jpeg icons in all views, and recently figured out there is something peculiar about those files. In this case all views, all the time, fail to show a thumbnail. The fix is to select all the errant files, and only the errant files, in the folder, bring up the inspector (Command-Option-i), select the wee little multiple files icon at the top, and press Delete. Presto changeo the Finder will now draw the thumbs in Icon and Coverflow views.
    The second problem is more perplexing: it seems as if Finder has simply gotten tired of drawing icons. When this happens I've always simply relaunched Finder by holding the Option key, click and hold on the Finder icon in the Dock, and then select Relaunch from the fly-out window. All windows close, the Desktop "blinks" and when you renavigate to the folder Finder draws the icons. Reminds me of an old-time radio with a loose connection that can be brought back to functionality by a quick sharp blow to the chassis...

  • Document always opens in Preview mode, prefer Normal mode

    Documents always open in Preview mode, while I'd prefer the Normal mode. I tried setting the mode to Normal and saving the document, but next time I open it it again opens up in Preview mode. Can I change this somewhere so it defaults to Normal mode?
    Thanks for your help or suggestions.

    The preview that was used when the file was saved is saved with the
    file. If you save it in preview mode, it will open that way.
    If that's not the case, you may have a slight corruption in your
    preferences. Try trashing them if this bothers you.
