Cisco Aironet Remove Local MAC Address List (all)

Hi All,
I need to remove all MAC addresses in the LOCAL MAC Address List on a Cisco Aironet. I do not want to remove running config on the device as we have changed over to a RADIUS Server.
Can anyone give me some advice please?

I have found a solution, please close this forum post.

  • WPA with local MAC address authentication

Can Cisco Aironet AP support WPA encryptions with local MAC address authentications as the current setup i have do not have a radius server to authenticate my users.
i tried configuring with local MAC address but no success.

    Try this:
    conf t
    access-list 700 deny xxxx.xxxx.xxxx 0000.0000.0000
    access-list 700 deny xxxx.xxxx.xxxx 0000.0000.0000
    access-list 700 permit 0000.0000.0000 ffff.ffff.ffff
    dot11 association mac-list 700
Replace the xxxx.xxxx.xxxx with each host you want to allow on the AP. This will block any other MACs from accessing the AP. This is not by SSID, this is by AP, so let me know if this will work for you.

  • Solaris local-mac-address setting

    Hi all,
Having 10gR2 Clusterware and RAC on two Solaris 10 sparc, is it required to set the EEPROM settng local=mac-address? to true so that each network card will use its own MAC address instead of the server unified MAC address? Did anyone see it in Oracle documentation for Solaris?

In order to avoid MAC address conflicts between the primary and standby NIC's, a unique
ethernet MAC address must be assigned to each network interface (NIC) on the server. On
Solaris, this can be done by setting the "local-mac-address?" PROM variable to TRUE (the
default value is FALSE) on each cluster node.

  • Exporting MAC address list between AP

    Hi
I'm trying to store a list of mac-address in my AP in order to export or import mac address from an AP to other.
I've been looking in the IOS AP commands a way to create a mac-address list but I haven't found anything
Is there any way to do it?
    thanks

One solution is creating a access-list with following mac address and copy to all the APs.

  • MAC address list growing

I have a linksys WRT400N.  The N network is WPA encrypted, the G network uses WEP.  I have populated the wireless MAC address list with the 8 wireless addresses for devices which I own. It should only allow these wireless addresses to connect.
Twice now I have gone back to the list and found three additional MAC addresses in the list which I did not place there.  I have saved the proper configuration, I restore it, and all is OK.
Network Magic has never shown any other device attached to my network.
Where are these additional MAC addresses coming from?
Everyone in my home is computer illiterate so I am sure they are not coming from here.  I have a password of course on the administration name.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Well I think I have found the enemy and it is myself.  The three MAC addresses are:
    00:11:43:71:40:d1
    00:50:8d:91:CF:F3
    00:50:80:d1:3b:26
The first is from Dell, the second two from ABIT and I have found them as the NIC addresses on two computers which I own.  I also have a Dell laptop so I suspect the first is coming from it though I haven't been able to find it's NIC address.
So I guess the only mystery is how these get populated into my wireless MAC address list. It looks like no harm, no foul.  I am not sure all my older devices are able to do WPA.  I will do some research.  Thanks again.

  • WES610N - only one MAC address for all connected devices

Hi! I use a WES610N 4-port WLAN bridge to connect my audio and video devices (Pioneer AV receiver, Samsung TV set and a WD Live TV box) to my E4200 router upstairs. This works fine and the WLAN connection works stable and fast. There's a Synology 212j NAS running DM 3.2 connected to my E4200 router. On this NAS a DLNA/UPnP media server is running to stream audio and video from the NAS to my Receiver, to my TV set and to the WD Live TV box. Audio and video is ok but i also want to send photos from the NAS direct to the TV and WD Live. To see the photos in the correct solution i have to configure a DLNA profile on the media server for each DLNA client which connects to the media server. I have to configute this based on the device name, IP address and MAC address shown in the clinet list of the media server. So far so good - and here's my problem: Every device connected to the WES610N is seen with the same MAC address - the one of the WES610 - by the media server. This confuses the server and it's not possible to assign a DLNA profile to each of the devices (TV, Receiver, WD box) because the IP - MAC pairing always changes when one of the devices sends data packets to the media server. So the assigned profile configuration gets lost and switches back to standard DLNA profile and photos can not be displayed correct by the devices. So what i would need is that every device connected to the WES610N is seen by the media server by it's on MAC address. Is there a solution or are there plans to implement this in future firmware versions? Thx, BR Christian

You can try the following combination of settings :-
A] With the help of Cisco Connect Software (if at all you have installed the router with the help of this software)
1] Open the software and go to the option which says "Router Settings"
2] Then click on the option which says "Advanced Settings" which will take you to the router's configuration page.
3] Lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) from 1500 to 1400 or less (usually found on your routers main/ basic setup page)
4] Then click on Security tab disable SPI Firewall Protection, uncheck Filter Anonymous Internet Requests...
B] If you haven't installed Cisco Connect then you can log on to the router's user interface using it's default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and type in 'admin' as the password leaving the user name field blank. This will take you to the router's web interface and then follow steps as mentioned above to make the changes.
    Then check the connectivity status...

  • RV220W mac address list

I apoligize for my incompetence but I have a problem I really need to solve and I am clueless ...
We have a wifi router RV220W and we need to filter the mac address. The problem is that the number of the "allowed" devices is around 50 (not all connected at the same time), but the maximum number of mac address which can be listed in this router for each VLAN is 20, so for the moment we set 3 VLAN, each one with a different mac adderss list. This is very awkward because the area to be covered by the wifi network is large and we need repeaters, but having 3 VLAN we should put 3 repeaters for each point. Is there any way to configure this router in order to have a single VLAN but with a mac address filter list of 3 x 20 mac address?
    thank you

    Good morning
Hi Michela thank you for using our forum,, my name is Johnnatan I am part of the Small business Support community.
Don't worry about it, we are here to help you, I read your case and you are right, your device support just 20 rules, as you know you can deny everything and just allow specific devices or allow everything and deny specific devices (you can try doing it the other way), however if you want to extend this list, maybe you are thinking in an enterprise device. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I hope you find this answer useful,

  • MAC Address List

    Just a quick question reaally,
What is the maximum number of Mac addresses the 1130AG can hold?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi John,
    Are you referring to Mac Filters? If so;
Configuring and Enabling MAC Address Filters
MAC address filters allow or disallow the forwarding of unicast and multicast packets either sent from or addressed to specific MAC addresses. You can create a filter that passes traffic to all MAC addresses except those you specify, or you can create a filter that blocks traffic to all MAC addresses except those you specify. You can apply the filters you create to either or both the Ethernet and radio ports and to either or both incoming and outgoing packets.
Note: Using the CLI, you can configure up to 2,048 MAC addresses for filtering. Using the web-browser interface, however, you can configure only up to 43 MAC addresses for filtering.
    From this doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/12.3_2_JA/configuration/guide/s32filt.html#wp1034897
    Hope this helps!

  • WCS 7.0 Vendor mac-address list

We are doing a study on our public WiFi to identfy client connections based on wireless Vendor.  about 40-50% of the clients wireless Vendors are "unknown".  Is there a way to update the list of Vendor mac-addresses in WCS?
    Regards
    Chris Kaufman

I doubt there will be any further releases of WCS code, as it's been EOL.

You would need to work a migration to NCS at this point.

  • Is there a way to remove Exchange global address list from phone/Mail app?

I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3. Wondering if there is a way I can prevent an Exchange global address list from loading when I compose a message. I am only syncing Mail - not contacts or calendars. Also tried dropping and re-adding account to see if that did anything. This is a personal phone connected to company's Exchange account (legitimately) - I would like to reduce the chance that I incorrectly email a company employee from my personal account when composing a message.

That is what I expected Chris, but to answer your question - yes. I have two accounts setup with the Mail app - Gmail and Exchange. Gmail is the default even. When I am in the Gmail account, compose a new message, just typing "john" for example, brings up most recently used john's first, then all the Johns in my company. I really would prefer not to even have those names populate. Not sure if that can be prevented without dropping the Exchange mail account altogether. That is my question - and thank you for your reply.

  • How to get MAC address list and HDD serial number from Windows and MAC machine?

    Hi,
I'm developing a AIR application. I'm implementing the product key mechanishm. I need to identify the users' machines uniquely. I chose MAC address would be a better way. But a computer has list of MAC addresses including LAN card and Wi-Fi card addresses. So, I need to get the list of available MAC addresses from the computer and the Hard Disk Drive's serial number. HDD serial number would be helpful to cross verify the identity.
I'm able to get the MAC address using NetworkInfo class. But I need to get a list of available MAC addresses and HDD serial number.
Is there any classess to accomplish this task?
    Thanks in advance.
