Cisco Multicast Manager 3.2 Password recorvery
Hi, Please can anybody help me how to do a password recovery on multicast manager 3.2.
Hi Jose,
Please find the password recovery steps as below:
If an administrator password is forgotten, lost, or misconfigured, you need to reset the password on the
device.
Note There is no way to restore a lost administrator password. You must reset the password to a new one, as
described in this procedure.
To reset the password, do the following:
Step 1 Establish a console connection to the device and open a terminal session.
Step 2 Reboot the device.
While the device is rebooting, watch for the following prompt and press Enter when you see it:
Cisco CDS boot:hit RETURN to set boot flags:0009
Step 3 When prompted to enter bootflags, enter the 0x800 value.
Available boot flags (enter the sum of the desired flags):
0x0000 - exit this menu and continue booting normally
8-22
Backup and Recovery Procedures
0x2000 - ignore Carrier Detect on console
0x4000 - bypass nvram config
0x8000 - disable login security
[SE boot - enter bootflags]:0x8000
You have entered boot flags = 0x8000
Boot with these flags? [yes]:yes
[Display output omitted]
Setting the configuration flags to 0x8000 lets you into the system, bypassing all
security. Setting the configuration flags field to 0x4000 lets you bypass the NVRAM
configuration.
Step 4 When the device completes the boot sequence, you are prompted to enter the username to access the CLI.
Enter the default administrator username (admin).
Cisco Service Engine Console
Username: admin
Step 5 When you see the CLI prompt, set the password for the user using the username password command
in global configuration mode.
ServiceEngine# configure
ServiceEngine(config)# username admin password 0 password
You can specify that the password be either clear text or encrypted. Zero (0) means the password is
displayed as a plain word; one (1) means the password is encrypted. The password strength must be a
combination of alphabetic character, at least one number, at least one special character, and at least one
uppercase character.
Note Do not set the user ID (uid).
Step 6 Save the configuration change by using the write memory command in EXEC mode.
ServiceEngine(config)# exit
ServiceEngine# write memory
Step 7 Optionally, reboot your device by using the reload command.
ServiceEngine# reload
Rebooting is optional; however, you might want to reboot to ensure that the boot flags are reset, and to
ensure that subsequent console administrator logins do not bypass the password check.
Note In CDS software, the bootflags are reset to 0x0 on every reboot

Cisco Multicast Manager - Starting MySQL FAILED
Hello,
I have problem to install Cisco Multicast Manager V3.1 over Red Hat Enterprise 5.5. The installation is working fine but the MySQL daemon is not getting started:
Starting MySQL... Manager of pid-file quit without updating [FAILED]
In a first intallation atempt I received the following error:
chown: `mysql:root': invalid user
and the MySQL installation failed. To solve this I created the user mysql and reinstall the CMM. The installation worked until I got the error when MySQL was getting started.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.I tried disabling the SElinux but the problem persists.
Finally I resolved the issue reinstalling the Linux and creating the mysql user and group BEFORE the first CMM install atempt. If you create this user after the first install you recieve an error message and if you try to reinstall the CMM, the MySQL service does not get up. It seems a problem with some user or service permissions but it is not normal because it is a new Linux installation without any customization
I suppose that the mysql server must be created automatically by the CMM installation process because this step does not appear in the installation guide but I have to verify why it is not working. Has anyone detected this situation?
Thank you for your help! -
Cisco Multicast Manager Security
Can anyone provide me with steps on how to integrate CMM into ACS server? Steps outlined on pages 2-3 & 2-4 in CMM manual (cmm_userguide_2.3.4.pdf) did not work.
Probably the ACS configuration guide will fulfil your requirement.

Cisco Interaction Manager with Finesse 9.1.1
Is it possible to place Cisco Interaction Manager in finesse desktop container as a gadget?
As I have tried to do that but CIM login interface is not displayed on finesse desktop, instead I am getting white display'I just tested this. If i login as an agent i see the gadget but if i login as supervisor, i do not see the gadget.
Couple of additional questions.
1. How to get this gadget in the home page and not in a seperate Frame
Answer: Need to add the gadget commands under the supervisor frame as well.
2. how to pass the username and password that i enter initially in the finesse login page to CIM?
BTW, this is for PCCE 9.0.3 and CIM 9.0.1 (not integrated yet)

Can Cisco Device Manager Support ACS Authentication?
Background:
My company has approximately 500+ devices all across the country (mainly 2801's, 2924's, 2950's, and 2960's) and approx 3 people that have a real idea of how to configure the devices, and 2 or 3 that have a general clue about how to do it. I am in the process of moving all of these devices to use ACS authentication for signing into the device. While I am doing this I am establishing a strong password for the secret password to provide as a backup.
Problem:
My supervisor would like the cisco device manager to be available to the people that don't have the in depth cli experience. However in my testing, it will only accept the strong password for its authentication, and does not try the ACS server for authentication. Is this possible?Hi,
Actually, there is a difference as from where the authentication is picked from for HTTP authentication,
With HTTP v1 server, same method list is picked, that is used by VTY lines.
With HTTP v1.1 server, but before the integration of fix for bug CSCeb82510, the method list defined for console is checked.
After the fix of the above mentioned bug, we have some different sent of commands that we can use.
I would suggest you to give this a try,
aaa authentication login CONSOLEandHTTP tacacs+ local
aaa authorization exec CONSOLEandHTTP if-authenticated
ip http authentication aaa
line con 0
login authentication CONSOLEandHTTP
authorization exec CONSOLEandHTTP

I'm interesting on buying a Firefox Smart Phone, but
I would like to know if are any app to install on Firefox OS smart phone in order to work with cisco call manager 10.5.
Something like Cisco Jabber for Android o iOS.
Thanks,Hi Itech,
If Cisco Jabber has a webapp, or mobile version of their website available, you should technically be able to access it through Firefox OS.
You may also search Firefox Marketplace for an alternative solution:

Unable to open 2 9509 switches at the same time in Cisco Device Manager
Dear Friends,
There are a pair of MDS 9509 switches whose management addresses are 172.16.2.197 and 172.16.2.198.
When we try to manage these Devices through Cisco device manager, the first device opens up without any problem, but when the second 9509 is opened in Cisco Device Manager, it fails giving the following error message:
"Open udp transport failed: Address already in use: Cannot bind"
To get around this issue, if we close the first interface to the 9509 switch, then we are able to open up the second 9509 in Device Manager.
We have this problem only in Cisco device manager. If we open one switch in Cisco device manager and the other switch in Cisco Fabric Manager, it works.
Also, we can telnet to both the devices successfully at a time.
The device manager in use is 4.1.
Please find enclosed the sh version outputs for your kind reference.
Can you please help me understand the cause of this issue?
Thanks a lot
GautamIs it always the same MDS that fails to open, or can you open either one first, and then the second one poses the problem (no matter which one is second)?
Can you try from a second work station and see if you can open DM to both switched at the same time? I suspect the address it is complaining about is the local workstation IP, not the MDS IP.
If you open the FM map, then you click on the MDS ICONs, can you open DM to both MDS?

I forgot the answers for the security questions and when I try to change them (My Apple ID -> Manage your account -> Password and Security) I'm asked to answer the exact questions I'm trying to change because I don't remember the answers. How can I do it?
Can't you try the email option instead?

Monitoring Cisco UCS Manager via HP System Information Manager 7.1 (SIM)
I am working with a customer to configure HP System Information Manager 7.1 (SIM) to monitor their Cisco UCS Manager.
The customer is looking to monitor the following:
- CPU Utilization on manager, blades, servers, etc...
- Memory utilization
- Network utilization
- System inventory
Alerting is needed for the following:
- Hardware failures: memory, power supply, drive, etc...
- Predictive failures
- Alert messages
I have the list of all the MIBs provided by Cisco but an having the following issues while loading them into HP SIM.
While loading MIB "CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-TC-MIB" I get the following error message:
Line 128: Error defining object: expected a label, found reserved symbol {
Line in MIB: SYNTAX Gauge32 {
Guage32 is imported from SNMPv2-SMI MIB
To get past this error I found a version of the MIB that removes all the textual conventions that where causing errors. I have attached the fixed MIB file to this discussion. With the fixed version of the MIB installed in SIM everything compiles and installs except the following two MIBS. CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-NOTIFS-MIBCISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-CONFORM-MIB Questions:
1. Is there any way to get the CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-TC-MIB MIB to install correctly into HP SIM?

Based on your debug you are getting "Cause No. 38 - network out of order."
You may want to bind SIP to an interface that the IP address is defined which Lync points to.

Cisco Call Manager Administration Page Drop down menu not working
I'm running the mobile app browser on my Xoom tablet and when I log into Cisco Call Manager Administration page I get the menu's but it will not pull down the options. The same issue happens in google chrome. I use your browser on my desktop and have no issues logging into Cisco Call Manager Administration page and getting the drop down menu's to appear but the mobile version of your browser is not working. Is there a work around? I tried changing the UAString to Desktop, iPad etc and the issue is still there.
Thanks but I've tried all that. It happens in Chrome also. I've tried Opera and it works on that. I've read other forums and it looks like a Java script issue that Chrome and now Firefox Mobile cannot seem to resolve. My preference is Firefox and I'm sure as more tablets get out then this will be solved at some point. I just don't know how it is prioritized. I do know that in order for Androids to be viable in the business sector they need to address issues like these with a higher priority.

Starting a Cisco call manager express
I have a cisco 2651 with Cisco call manager express.
I have too 15 IP telephones 7902G
The configuration is in factory default.
Ì have to create an IP pbx and extensions of a municipality with that components.
I's like that anybody helps me in the starting configuration, Where can I find good documentation about a tipical case like this?
I have a lot experience in networking and IP telephony but I'm newbie in CCME.
RegardsTo begin the configuration use "telephony-service setup" command which will prompt you for some of the basic configuration ie how many phones, starting DN, etc. To add additional feature refer to the admin guide provided by Jorge link.
