CL_HTTP_CLIENT gives 401-response from WebServer

Hi out there,
i have generatet a SOAP-ABAP-Proxy on NW2004s. The Webservice need Basic-Authentication. But wether i send the credentials ore not i get Error 401. I tried to connect via IE and it worked fine. I tried to connect via programm RSHTTP20 and got the following response:
HTTP GET Test
401 Unauthorized
HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized
Content-Length: 1539
Content-Type: text/html
Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0
WWW-Authenticate: Basic realm="creddb"
X-Powered-By: ASP.NET
Date: Tue, 03 Apr 2007 08:42:03 GMT
Connection: close
Any Idea's how i can get it work ? The connection without authorization works fine...
Thanks.
Best regards
André

Hi Raja,
you are right, i do not need cl_http_client in case of the proxy, but for this thread i used it cause i thougt that there the underlying problem comes from. I tried the code snippets - but why do i configure the securityprofile in the logical port ?
And i still get the Popup to authenticate when i test the webservice call.
After Authenticating i get the error:Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC)
Do you have any further ideas ?
Thanks.
best regards
André

• How do you get a RESPONSE from Verizon?

How does one get a response from Verizon? Here's my situation...
Given the amount of trouble that I have had with a recent order, you would think that I was trying to land a 747 jet on my roof. In reality, all I was aiming to do was to cancel the $19.99 per month phone service that I never used. I do not even own a phone, for that matter. I also had enhanced high speed Internet, and I wanted to retain the high speed Internet. A few days before January 13, 2012, I called Verizon and spoke to the 1st sales representative, who ensured me that it was no problem to cancel the phone service and yet retain the high speed Internet for the same monthly price. 24 hours later, my high speed DSL service was no longer functioning. I will try to briefly explain the disastrous customer service that ensued.
The first several phone calls to Verizon were not productive as I was transferred to the wrong department, and then at least one of my phone calls was dropped by the Verizon server. The representative did not call me back. I finally got in touch with a technical support representative, the 2nd Verizon representative, who informed me that the high speed Internet had been turned off and that I had to speak to a sales representative to solve the issue. Another sales representative, the 3rd Verizon representative, informed me that the 1st representative had cancelled my phone line, and thus cancelled all of my services. Great. The 3rd representative informed me that he was absolutely capable of handling the problem and that he would simply add a new order for high speed Internet, which was to be activated the next morning. The next morning came and went, and guess what? No Internet. I called again. The 4th Verizon representative told me that everything that had been done previously was incorrect and that the sales department is not capable of making such changes. She told me that she could not help me and that my claim had to be submitted to a different department, which has the authority to un-do all of the previous changes. She told me that I would receive a call back the same day to resolve the issue. Given my previous experiences with Verizon, I was confident that I would not, in fact, receive a call back and so I asked her how I could get transferred to this department, if I needed to call again. She said that I could not be transferred. Okay. So then I asked her what to ask for so that next time I called, I could be transferred to the correct department without dealing with yet another sales representative who gives me yet a different story. She informed me that she could not provide that information to customers. The Department That Shall Not Be Named (and that I cannot contact) did not call me, and I was not surprised. Unfortunately, I did not know how to go about contacting them, because, as I was told, customers aren’t allowed to do that.
The 6th phone call to Verizon was dropped by the Verizon server. The 7th phone call to Verizon went to the 5th Verizon representative, a sales associate who placed us on hold for the first 15 minutes only to inform us that she could not find any record of our Internet service. What the heck was she doing, checking her Facebook account? She finally returns, puts us on another extended hold, and then adamantly tells us that we need to speak with technical support, which, if you recall, was the first Verizon party that I spoke at the beginning of this debacle. The 5th representative transfers me again to technical support. Of course, the technical support personnel, the 6th Verizon representative said what the first one did, that the account was inactive and that we needed to talk to the sales department. My husband was on the phone at this point because I was DONE. When the 6th technical support representative tried to transfer him back to the sales department, my husband insisted that the 6th technical support representative remain on the line while we spoke to yet another sales representative, the 7th Verizon representative. The 6th technical support representative patiently waited with us while we sat in yet another long queue to speak with a member of the sales department.
The 7th sale representative, from the retention department based out of New Jersey, found that all previous orders had been set up erroneously. She cancelled the old orders and reinstated a completely new order. The DSL began working a few days later. MAGIC. She then left me a voicemail message saying that she would eliminate the activation and shipping fee (duh) as I never canceled the account to begin with and as I already had the equipment. She also applied a coupon to reduce the price to around $30 per month, assured for the next 2 years. I was relieved.
You can imagine our frustration then when we received the bill for $79 on February 6, 2012, which included a much higher monthly rate (around $45) and the shipping and activation fee of $19.99 that we were assured we would not pay. Again, nothing was shipped to us because we already had the equipment.
Our next phone call to Verizon landed us with a guy, the 8th Verizon representative, who had no intention of helping us. According to him, there was no record of these wrongs, and despite the fact that we had an old account number and three order numbers that were screwed up, he did not deem that there was enough evidence to change our monthly bill. (Unfortunately, the 7th Verizon representative did not make notes or appropriately document the situation on the new account.) The 8th Verizon representative then had the audacity to comment that we could be lying to him, yet he was unwilling to view the evidence that we could have presented. Instead, he suggested that we call tech support again and try to go through the same process to get connected to the mysterious “retention department” which he knew nothing about.
At this point, I was beyond fed up. The attitude of the 8th Verizon representative put me over the edge. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) with an abbreviated version of this story. I did not file the complaint to get back at Verizon. Instead, I filed the complaint because I knew that another phone call to Verizon would be useless. I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a month, and I’m sick of it. I have better things to do with my time, believe it or not, and this situation has resulted in a significantly waste of my time over what, in my opinion, was a very simple issue to resolve.
The BBB processed the complaint and I was contacted last Friday afternoon by a Verizon representative (the 9th) who said that she was looking into the matter and that she would respond to me within two to three business days. Well, it’s almost the end of the week, and I have received no response. Again, after all of this, how could I be surprised?
I have been a Verizon customer, wireless and residential, for as long as I can remember, but I am reaching the point of outrage. This situation is truly unacceptable.
You would think that, in 2012, with all of the technology available to us and the fact that Verizon is a COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY, that at least Verizon employees would be able to make a basic change to an existing order and that at least one out of 9 Verizon representatives would be able to solve this issue in a span of over four weeks. Think again.

It boggles the mind. The Verizon store on L Street downtown Washington, D.C. cannot access my Verizon account. They can only sell cellphones then it's up to me to contact Verizon on my own to get the hook up. Yes, it indeed boggles the mind. I'm of course referring to the fact that your post concerns Verizon Wireless products and services. This forum is dedicated exclusively to Verizon Communications services. As you probably know, Verizon Wireless and Verizon Communications operate as separate companies.
If you need help for a Verizon wireless product or service, it's best to direct questions to the Verizon Wireless forums. You can reach them by clicking on "Wireless" (either here or at the top of the page).
Good luck and I sincerely hope you get your issue resolved.

• Firefox freezes about five seconds after I open it, and whenever I use Ctrl+alt+delete to close it I get told that it is waiting for a response from me.

I am having a problem with Firefox. Whenever I open it, it runs fine for about five seconds and then freezes. A small white rectangle appears in the upper left corner of the browser window. The screen still scrolls fine, but whenever I try clicking on anything (including the menus in the toolbar), it just gives me an unresponsive 'ding' sound. When I try closing the programme with Ctrl+alt+delete, I get a message saying 'The system cannot end this programme as it is waiting for a response from you'. I originally had this problem with an earlier version of Firefox and tried installing Firefox 4 to see if this helped. It worked for two days and began doing it again. I have already tried un- and re-installing Firefox and restarting my computer, and Firefox will not run properly for long enough to let me disable any add-ons or plug-ins. What can I do to fix this?
I've added a couple of screencaps of the problem. (or tried to)

• Client email issues - Logged tickets complete lack of response from BC

I am creating this post on behalf of a client(challenge insurance) in the hope that someone at Business Catalyst might see it and respond as there seems to be know other way of contacting anyone at the company and they seem to respond to any tickets logged at slower than snail pace.
On Friday my client tried to move his email service to office365, he ran into the issue of not being able to add txt or srv record properly using the bc interface. so we contacted support by logging a ticket. While it was a Friday we expected we might hear some reply over the weekend to the ticket but have yet to receive any instruction or reply from bc on this ticket at 4pm GMT on Monday thats almost 72 hours later. Given my client needed his email fully functioning on the first Monday back after the new year and with a number of new staff members starting we reverted back to use bc for email whist waiting on a response for bc support.
After reverting back the email worked fine but now my client is receiving an error when trying to send email's from the system
"SMTP Error: [451] 4.7.1 <END-OF-MESSAGE>: End-of-data rejected: user has temporarily exceeded the allowed mail recipient relays per day. Please try again later."
I have googled this issue and seen other posts on here so am expecting the following response from the ever helpful bc staff "The daily limit allowed through our SMTP is 500 emails a day and this can't be increased. "
My client informs he has not sent 500 emails so maybe they will be able to check it but who knows!
The complete inability to contact bc support adequately and their tardy response times is an absolute disgrace. While my client is only a small business owner he pays a monthly subscription to use bc's system and should expect a standard level support especially when it comes to such a critical part of any business their email communications. If bc are going to provide the service of hosting mail they should at very least be able to respond to a ticket within three days regardless of the day a ticket is logged with some basic assistance or advise. Even the worst hosting companies I have ever had to deal with have had better response times and support some even had email address or contact number you could get them on.
So if there is anyone out there at bc who can help please get in touch

When you create a new email it has a limit to stop them being used and created for spam. 500 emails in one go is rather a lot for just an email (I hope he is not using it for newsletters as there is the BC feature for that job).
This limit increases over time and you will be blocked on that day when you exceed that limit.
In terms of your complain about response times - You sent a ticket just on a weekend and expecting a reply over the weekend (reading that should be enough to give you an indication on a response) but further to that it is wrapping up the holidays.
Support availabily during the winter holidays
While there will be full coverage now I would imagine there is a back log. I have an issue with my TV - I did a support ticket to Samsung on Friday - I have no reply to that ticket yet either and I expected as such.
If you really need to speak to BC support you can use the live chat - BC Status (on the right)
I hear you on the time response but please keep in mind what I said about weekend and holiday period.

I put my problems down to my application server (Orion) as other people seem to have this working. The deployment in Orion keeps the original timestamps of the jars, so I explicitly set the timestamps in my build so that the unchanged jars do not have to be downloaded all the time. This is not really a good solution, so maybe someone else can give further advice.

• How to get response from an asynchronous BPEL process in Java

I'm experimenting with BPEL and doesn't seem to be able to get response from an asynchronous BPEL process. Here's the deal:
I have a BPEL process that takes a string as input, and gives another string as output. This is a asyncronous process.
I want to initiate this BPEL process as a web service so I generate a Webservice Proxy in JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3.0.4). The function to call the process is now called "initiate" and takes three arguments: the input string, a "org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing.EndpointReferenceType replyTo" and a
"org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing.AttributedURI messageID".
HTTP-Analyzer shows that invoking the BPEL process with initiate("somestring", null, null) results in sending a SOAP message to the BPEL process, which returns a "202 Accepted". How do I get the response from the process? My intuition tells me that I have to use that second argument, that EnpointReferenceType thing. How do I use that?
Another question: If a asynchronous BPEL process does not exists (so the endpoint does not exist) the Java proxy does not throw an error when runned. It does not even sends a message. It exits with status 0! (This happens for example when deploying a new version of a process and when the "old" version is undeployed). Calling a non-existing synchronous BPEL process, the Java proxy DOES throw an error.

Clemens,
That all sounds logical. But somehow it is still a mystery for me ... Somehow I don't see what should be done.
To call the async BPEL process I have the following procedure:
initiate(String input, org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing.EndpointReferenceType replyTo, org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing.AttributedURI messageID)
The first argument is the input for my BPEL process. The second is the address to a webservice that should handle the callback, right? The third is a messageID (makes sense, but why of the type AttributedURI?).
Here lies my problem. It is not clear to me how these EndpointReferenceType & AttributedURI work. I can't find anything on the net about it. The AXIS examples as where mentioned earlier use other types (namely the "org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws.addressing.MessageID" and "org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws.addressing.ReplyTo") which are completely different.
What I did so far:
- I created an webservice proxy that listens on the onResult endpoint of the BPEL process.
- I created an webservice proxy that calls the BPEL process through the initiate procedure, but it is not completely clear to me how to construct the EndPointreferenceType replyTo, and the MessageID. I did something like this:
EndpointReferenceType replyTo = new EndpointReferenceType();
// callback service running on local machine
// This URI class is the java.net's version
URI replyToURI = new URI("http://vaccinatie:8988/syncro-callback-context-root/stringconcatCallbackBindingPort");
// This AttributedURI is the org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing's version
AttributedURI address = new AttributedURI();
// the only public methos that made sense to me:
address.set_value(replyToURI);
replyTo.setAddress(address);
// call the BPEL process
myPort.initiate("test123", replyTo, address);
But the above doesn't work (largely because I don't know what I'm doing here prob.:-) ) It does send the "test123" message, and the BPEL process does process it, but I don't seem to get the callback right.
I hope this makes my problems somewhat clearer. I hope someone can help me, because I'm just a beginner in this whole "web service area" and seems to do something terribly wrong here, because it should be very simple. Thx.

• I want to send a response from the servlet and then call another servlet.

Hi,
I want to send a response from the servlet and then call another servlet. can this happen. Here is my scenario.
1. Capture all the information from a form including an Email address and submit it to a servlet.
2. Now send a message to the browser that the request will be processed and mailed.
3. Now execute the request and give a mail to the mentioned Email.
Can this be done in any way even by calling another servlet from within a servlet or any other way.
Can any one Please help me out.
Thanks,
Ramesh

Hi,
I'm trying to consume beehive web services via SOAP, more specifically I'm trying to upload a file into a workspace however at this point of the implementation I'm stuck getting 400 responses from the server.
I'm trying to upload a file using the createDocument() method that's located on the contentManagementService, indeed in the line that I call to that method is in which my app stops and returns the exception of error 400
I'm attaching a sample of the message I'm sending, at this point I understand every parameter that it's being sent except for the contentStreamId parameter, I don't know what it means, the documentation doesn't explain it either.
Does anyone has an idea of what's that paremeter for and how to use it properly?
Here's a sample of code I'm using:
// add new document
String str = "Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r" +
"Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.Test body.\r";
byte[] docContent = str.getBytes("UTF8");
DocumentCreator docCreator = new DocumentCreator();
docCreator.setConflictResolutionMode(ConflictResolutionMode.OVERWRITE);
docCreator.setName("File" + System.currentTimeMillis()%10000 + ".txt");
docCreator.setParent(teamWksp.getDefaultDocumentsFolder().getCollabId());
IdentifiableSimpleContentUpdater iscu = new IdentifiableSimpleContentUpdater();
iscu.setContentStreamId(docContent.toString());
DocumentUpdater docUpdater = new DocumentUpdater();
docUpdater.setContentUpdater(iscu);
docCreator.setUpdater(docUpdater);
Document doc = contentMgmtServiceSoap.createDocument(docCreator, docContent,projFull);

• Can we call a responsibility from a OA Page

Hello All ,
Can we invoke a responsibility from a OA page , for example like opening a Install Base Responsibility with a button click from a SalesUser page .
If so can you give the outline of the process .
A response is highly appreciated.
Thank you ,

Resp. will be tied to a Top Level Menu, which in turn would be launching a Home Page Menu. You can forward to this Home Page Func., to achieve your requirement.

• No Response from Server at end of day: 4.03

We're using Weblogic 4.03 on Solaris. At the end of a busy day, users
start submitting their transactions and some users start calling the
help desk saying that performance is very slow and I believe they are
getting "No Response from Server" from their browser.
We think it's the number of Execute Threads defined. I have provided
the settings when we received HelpDesk calls. We have also modified the
settings as mentioned below.
Some questions.
When does an Execute thread get used?
Can an execute thread be used for a long period of time (many seconds)
based on weblogic property settings?
Do the keepAlive properties keep a thread alive?
Does a connection keep a thread alive?
Does anyone know a way to monitor thread usage in 4.03?
In what situations can a connection use more than 1 thread?
Does anyone think we're on the right track?
We have defined the JRE to have a 64 meg heap.
We looked at the T3AdminMain console and at one point and saw 27
connections being used. It's hard for us to determine if this was the
high point for the day. We're not sure how to capture this type of
info. We're thinking if there were 27 connections and each of those
connections was somehow using 2 threads, this might explain the problem.
About our application, we have HTTP and HTTP requests coming through a
browser client and we also have a Java UI client executing T3s
connections.
The browser version sees a user login to the application without being
timed out for 20 minutes (1200 seconds). We have reduced this to 900
seconds.
Basically, we're not sure how Weblogic handles threads based on the
properties we've used. We have looked for documentation on this, but
have not found any. Any help would be much appreciated.
Please reply to my email id as well, if that's not too much trouble.
Thanks in advance for any help...

Here are some of our property file settings when we received the
problem:
weblogic.httpd.http.keepAliveSecs: 60
weblogic.httpd.https.keepAliveSecs: 360
weblogic.httpd.session.cacheEntries: 1024
weblogic.httpd.session.invalidationIntervalSecs: 60
weblogic.httpd.session.jdbc.connTimeoutSecs: 120
weblogic.httpd.session.swapIntervalSecs: 10
weblogic.httpd.session.timeoutSecs: 1200
weblogic.system.executeThreadCount: 42
weblogic.system.percentSocketReaders: 33
We have changed the settings below and restarted the server. We have
not received any feedback yet.
weblogic.httpd.http.keepAliveSecs: 30
weblogic.httpd.https.keepAliveSecs: 180
weblogic.httpd.session.timeoutSecs: 900
weblogic.system.executeThreadCount: 60

I've read previous threads about the problem with 4.5 and the rebuilding of the
bean cache on each method call resulting in slowdown of the system over time. I
also see that patches have been provided. Is this also an issue with 4.0.3 and
have fixes been made there? We also are seeing significant degradation of
performance over time during our load testing and have been unable to determine
the cause. We are running on a 4 processor NT machine with 1 gigabyte of RAM.
When we see the degradation of performance, one processor is operating at 100%
and memory is maxed out.
Thanks,

To begin with, can you
a) please check the access.log to determine the the "arrival rate" of the
HTTP request. If the requests are not arriving fast enough, tuning WLS will
not help.
b) monitor the WLS server through the console to check the # of requests in
the queue waiting to be processed. This will give an idea of the potential
source of the bottlenecks in the system.

• No response from server HTTP 500

Hi all,
I am new to Widget world (in fact this is the first one). I am trying to implement Job Monitoring widget as explained in the weblog:
/people/sergio.cipolla/blog/2007/02/19/widgets-benefits-jobs-monitor-video
I have created wrapper function module : ZBP_JOB_SELECT_SM37B
Created Webservice called:  ZBP_JOB_SELECT_SM37B
I tested this web service (via web browser providing WSDL url in web services navigator) and it is working fine.
When i specify the web service URL in Widget prefernces and click on search, i m getting error "No response from server". I have followed all the steps mentioned in the web log but still i am getting errors.
I am accessing internet via proxy. Can this be a issue?
Also i read other posts regarding the same issue, which suggested to Enable all logons in SICF. Can some one give details as how to enable all logons in SICF?
Correct answers will be rewarded.
Thanks a lot.

Has anybody an idea what might cause this error?

We've gotten that error when the servlet runs out of memory. The out of memory error happens when it is building the jardiff file, which can require a lot of memory to do. The servlet caches any jardiffs that it builds, so most users won't see the problem because they are requesting prebuilt jardiffs.
We've found that the servlet runs best with 256mb of max heap. But I'd imagine we are more heavy weight users than most.
I've done some stress testing on the 1.5 servlet and did not find any real memory leaks.
Based on the open source version of the servlet (which I believe is pretty much the same as the one distributed with java 1.5).
It is keeping objects in memory to track which jardiffs it has built and to track any accessed resource (jar or jnlp). If your server has enough different jars and jnlps then you need to give it enough memory to keep all these small objects in memory.
If you want be 100% sure you've given it enough memory, then you can write a script which does a HEAD request on every possible jar and jnlp inside of the servlet. That should max out its memory usage.

• No Response from APP. Web Server

hi all,
i have an apex page which has a button when clicked kicks off a pl sql package.
it takes around 20 mins to run. I runs fine but i get this error page "No Response from APP. Web Server".
Am i doing anything wrong here?
when i run it on a small pkg it runs fine and displays the result...
what can i do to deal with this?
any help or links would be appreciated
thank you

Hi,
I would say that if you have a page that takes 20 mins or so to render to the user, then I would seriously reconsider how you are handling that page. If you increase the timeouts on the webserver so that it no longer times out on that page, then bear in mind that you will still be keeping that webserver connection open for 20 minutes.
Webservers are all about short, sharp, snappy transactions. In other words, you do not want to tie up your webserver with a long process if you can avoid it, since that means that particular request is possibly preventing another request from being handling. Of course 'long process' is a relative term, but I would tend to think in terms of 10-20 seconds as being a long process for a web page, 10-20 minutes is an eon to sit and wait for a web page to render.
I would try and do it different, such as processing the report in the background (in a job) and then having a dashboard type of page where the user can check the progress of the running report and then view the details when it's complete.

I have installed Oracle9i application server Rel 2,9i Infrastructure & oracle 8i DB on Win 2000 server.The installation was successful.
When I access the browser with http://<hostname>:7777 it works fine, it shows HTTP server welcome page.
Now I am trying to access Portal home page using http://<hostname>:7779/pls/portal
It seems, it searches for the Web site for sometime & then gives the error "No response from Web Server"
What is the problem ?? Is there anything with the services ?? I can see two http servers(apps & infrastructure)in the program listing,is it related with these ??
Please help.I will appreciate your support.
Regards
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep.
Try run EM WebSite running in http://<hostname>:1810.
If you are familiarized with this service it should be easy to solve your problem.
Once you access EM WebSite, you'll see two farms(One for iasdb, and one for Portal). That are some symbols that tell you about the status of Portal. If You see an red arrow pointing down, then you need to access Portal farm to put some services "up".
Choose the link for Portal Farm.
This page shows the status of all Portal components.
For you to get response from your portal http server, there a few of these that must be working.
They are (by order):
1. OC4J_Portal;
2. Web Cache;
3. HTTP Server;
For you to start them, you must (for each one) click on it's radio button an choose start.
With this components "up" you should be able to access Portal.
Some of other components cannot be started by us, because it's radio button is disabled, but Single Sign-On:orasso:7777 must be "up", and
Portal:portal:7778 in my case is "down". The rest of OC4J components are needed for other utilities like deploying components.
Hope i helped you.
Pedro.
