Class location issue. simple but strange one..

Im trying to figure out how to find out where the class file Im running at different location. Here is the example.
xxx.class is at c:\a\ and set classpath "set classpath=c:\a\"
at c:\b\, type java xxx to run xxx which class file is at c:\a\. is it possible to know programically that xxx knows the actualy file is at c:\a? if you get current working directory, you always get c:\b\ since it is where the JVM starts.. am I thinking too much? =) thanks in advance.

In a system-independent fashion? I don't think so.
However, if this is running on a UNIX system, you could use a combination of find and bash scripting to locate the classes for you.

Simple but strange behaviour of "suppress result rows"

Hi,
In one of the Query, for all the characteristics, the result rows are suppressed but strangely when i execute it on web i see the result row is getting dispalyed for one char.
But when i go back and check my query designer,for every char i see suppress result row is set to Always...but i don't know why it is not reflecting on the web
Now can any one please suggest how to suppress this on web permanently..
Note:on the Web we can select the char and right click and change this feature in properties but it is a one time actitivity,Becuase when we try to execute the report once gain the result row again appreaing!!!
when we execute the same report in BEx analyzert eh result rows is NOT shown up but only in web it is apprearing

Hi Swapna,
If you get the same behaviour after reopening the Web Template, you can use command "SET_RESULT_VISIBILITY" to suppress the result rows of that characteristic at Web Template level.

Iplanet proxy plugin issue; simple but iam confused; Please Help !!

Iam using Iplanet proxy plug-in with BEA weblogic6.1. In simple terms. the iplanet webserver proxies any dynamic requests to the application tier(wls6.1)
And we have configured the proxy plug-in to show the debugging information on to __WebLogicBridgeConfig page.
Now, could somebody explain more about the "requests:" and "successful requests:" that is been shown on the iplanet proxy plugin's __WebLogicBridgeConfig ???
I mean i understand that "requests:" are the Total # of request that proxy plugin received. And "successful requests:" are the # of requests that went pass through to the wls server. But what happen to the requests which are UN successful requests .....i have seen the fugures like this:
"requests:2000" "successful requests:1900"
then what happened to these 2000-1900=100 requests.....why is there difference and why does this happen???
how can calculate these UNsuccessful requests in my iplanet proxy logs ???
please advise. I would really really appreciate your help on this.

Again, more specifically, is __WebLogicBridgeConfig shows information of unsuccessful for the application tier OR any unsuccessful requests for the web tier ?

IPhoto 08 vsn 7.1.5 software issue. Can't print a photo. When I select print it comes up with the error message "No available themes" There were no themes located. Until at least one theme has been installed, this feature will be unavailable. ugh

YOu need to reinstall iPhoto.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

Restore from the backup!
You password: You have set it! It might be your passcode or you mioght have set it accidentally, so test all of the passwords you normally use. If you cannot get the password you backup is lost, but you can still sync your iTunes content.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Your iMac does have wireless capability. It does need, however, some wireless network in order to connect to the Internet. It sounds like there are several networks in your area, including one Belkin router that is not encrypted and several other networks that are. I presume that you would know if the Belkin one is yours, and you would have mentioned it. Do not use someone else's network without their permission. In some jurisdictions it is illegal, in others it is merely foolish.
It is impossible to know what Xfinity has given you. Possibly it is only a cable modem, or perhaps it has a router built in. Call them and ask them. If it has a router built in, get them to help you set it up. Note that some tech support people for Internet service providers will resist working with Macs. Be persistent, it is not that different.
If they did not provide a router, you will need to get one. Apple makes the AirPort Extreme base station, the AirPort Express base station and the Time Capsule. Other companies have their own. Be sure you get one that is up to date and has 802.11n capabilities (for the highest speed) and go on from there.

Simple certificate expired - multiple webgates but only one down

We have OAM 10.1.4.2 and multiple webgates on different web servers. The certificate expired but only one webgate had problem. Users were able to login to other applications protected by the webgates. All webgates were using the same certificate. Once we updated the certificate in the access server and restarted the access server, other webgates start having problem? Shouldn't all webgates will have problem connecting to access server as soon as certificates expires.

I would expect all the WebGates to see the same problem, assuming they do use the same certs. It is possible that they are only checked when establishing the connections to the Access Servers - so they will only see problems when the connections are re-established.

Class import issue...?

I'm really new with AS3 and coming up against all sorts of newbie-ness dumbfoundedness. So I apologizein advance if this is way simple.
I am trying to import a custom class. It is a class I found on the Internet for rotating objectson the stage.
The class file is called ApplicationMain.as.
I'm simply trying to import the class so it will function with the movie.
I have the ApplicationMain.as file saved in the same directory as my .FLA file.
So my understanding is I simply need to import the file like this...
import ApplicationMain
When I do that there are no errors but the class does not call the needed functions and the objects on the stage cannot be rotated.
I attached a trace and the trace comes through but the functions don't run.
import ApplicationMain trace ('it was imported')
Am I missing something? Isn't the path simply the file name as long as it is saved in the same directory as the .FLA?

One other question that is related...
So now it imports the class ApplicationMain.as.
But now there are path issues that I can't quite figure out.
So I have a scene called Content - my main and only scene.
In that scene there is a MC called content_MC as well as 2 buttons; a print button and a start over button.
Inside the content_MC there are several objects, including those that are labeled with instances that are meant to point the ApplicationMain file to them so they can have the ApplicationMain.as class applied to them.
I have an AS layer/frame inside content_MC that imports the ApplicationMain class just as you suggested.
Inside the ApplicationMain.as file the targets are registered as e1, e2, e3, e4, etc.
These instances, e1, e2, etc, are located inside content_MC on a layer below the AS layer where the import of the ApplicationMain code is located.
When I export the SWF I get error 1120 access to undefined property e1. This error occurs for each instance I am trying to target.
This is clearly a path issue but don't understand...?
Shouldn't those instances be found by the ApplicationMain.as class since they are resident in the same movie clip where the ApplicationMain.as class is being imported into?
Here's how the targets are registered in the ApplicationMain.as file...
_transformTool.targets = [e1, e2, e3, e4, f1, f2, f3, f4, f5, f6, f7, f8];

My application is not able to load jar given in lib folder..It's loading application Server jar.............Which is causing class loader issue.............One way to fix it this to copy the jar in JDK jre/ext/lib.............BUT this can't be done on PRODUCTION environment................Please tell me some other workaround for that............

If you are using an EAR file deployed on your WebLogic instance try placing the JAR file in EAR/lib folder (If not you can also try the WEB-INF/lib directory). It might help you. However I cannot recommend a sure shot location unless I know what invokes the classes inside "js.jar". You have to keep in mind the class loader hierarchy to know the right place where a particular JAR file to go. This is because a Parent Class Loader doesn't have visibility of Classes loaded by a Child Class Loader and hence the hierarchy is important.

When you do this

     }you are creating the member variables here, and assigning it to a variable that has a lifetime that starts at the creation point, and stops at the end curly brace.
That means when you try to access it from another method, it doesn't exist.
You need to define members, not in the method, but in the class, if you want more than one method to access i.

Why do you need a expensive MacBook Pro?
Your attending high school and unless everyone else is rich also your likely going to be a target by the more poorer students for theft or damage to the machine.
You could keep it home, but if you need it for class then your exposed again.
Also at that age your not very careful yet, a MacBook Pro is a expensive and easily damaged machine.
Unless your made of money and so are others at your school, I would recommned a low profile, just does the job cheap Windows PC.
If it dies, gets lost, stolen or damaged because of your inexperince handling senstivie electronics then it's no big deal.
You can buy a Mac later on when your sure you have a need for it, currently there isn't much advantage of owning a Mac compared to a PC, they do just about the same things now, one just looks prettier than the other.
Since 95% of the world uses Windows PC's your going to have to install Windows on the Mac in order to keep your skills up there or be unemployed, so it's a extra headache and expense.

Moved my library to an external hard drive. Now I get this message when trying to import video: Cannot start ingest because there is no storage location set. Please set one under Storage in Preferences and try again.

I recently moved my iMovie Library and all of its contents to an external hard drive. I then erased the library and all of its contents from my iMac HD and created a new library. Now when I try to import video from my DV camera I get this message: Cannot start ingest because there is no storage location set. Please set one under Storage in Preferences and try again. There is no way to set a storage location in Preferences. I have chosen an Event in the middle drop down box. But it still will not import. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My iTunes library is set up the way I said in the top post and works totally fine.
Yes, and that is the default structure to which I was referring. iTunes will organize it that way automatically unless people do start changing settings (in which case they should know what they are doing and how iTunes works with library files and media structure.)
Both ways work, the advantages of mine would be that should iTunes try looking fo a library, it will always be in the default location.
It makes people think they have to change media location in preferences. They do not unless they want to relocate media only and leave other things on their internal drive (in which case there is no point in copying library files to the external, and you certainly wouldn't want to then delete them from your internal).
Downside is that then should someone move their iTunes library to anther computer they need to remember to get those library files on the external hard drive.
Just copy the whole iTunes folder and it will get the library files to the other drive in one step, along with all the other files.
Your post has good stuff but it makes a move appear intimidating and look like people have to do a lot of organizing to move the collection. It also throws in extra steps (namely altering preference settings) that could cause confusion or even make a mess of things. If people leave iTunes to default preference settings (which most people do) the move summarizes into a short line: Copy a folder and hold an extra button the next time you start iTunes.
Note that the instructions in the link I provided earlier do also include many steps, but those are to ensure that everybody does have it all organized correctly before simply copying the iTunes folder. In the end it is just a simple action.
