Classic and Classic Applications

Question

When Tiger is on, Classic start ok, but after some minutes that I use Office 98 (upgraded for 9,0) or File Maker, these crashs and I need to close applications and restart Classic.
So if I need to use Office or File Maker I must start from secon HD with OS 9,2 and work with it !! Incredible!
Have you some suggestions?

Are you really saying that if you boot from pure OS 9, all your work with Office or File Maker goes smoothly; there are no problems at all? Or do some of the problems still occur?
I don't think you should be getting crashees, but if most of your work is with Office or File Maker, you should seriously consider not just dowloading little updates but upgrading your main versions. Office 98 and File Maker 3 are both years and several versions out of date and you might expect either of them to have problems with pure 9.2.2, unless you use them solo with nothing else running at the same time…
Similarly if you must use archaic versions, I would consider buying a second Mac. Another G4 AGP would cost hardly more than pocket change somewhere like e-Bay…
If you really can't do either of those, do you see crashes when you use only Filemaker or only one Office application, with nothing else running?

Do you see problems with any and all documents, or only some group of documents - perhaps all made from the same template, or all referencing the same linked files, or all using the same features?
