Click and move function

is it possible to have a large button that would move, moving
where ever you click to the center of the screen? (similar to the
way the google earth program works.)

sorry, let me clarify:
say I have an image that is bigger than the flash document.
the code applied to this image (in a movie clip) would allow the
image to move depending on where you click on it.
lets say the image is a map of the united states. when you
start the flash file, the center of the flash file is on kansas
(the center of the country.) when I click on michigan, the image
moves over until michigan is in the middle.
is that calirfy?

Why is my click and drag function suddenly copying everything?

This just started happening three or four days ago on my Pismo (the case is old, but I've upgraded all the guts). When I click and drag an item from my desktop to my hard drive (or to USB flash memory), it doesn't just move the item, it makes a copy. Same happens in the reverse direction. And it happens with both folders and files. Needless to say, this is a pain, as it means I have to move an item from the Desktop, and then move the first "copy" to the trash, which can be time-consuming with large folders. Also, obviously it risks the confusion of multiple copies--which could be disastrous for me since I deal with large documents (novels). I hope there's a simple fix for this. Anyone know?

I've never used FileVault, so never had the opportunity to look into how it works. Found this interesting article...

So FileVault creates an encrypted disk image that replaces the user's home folder. A mounted disk image is a separate volume. The Desktop folder is in the user's home folder, so if you are logged in as the user that has FileVault active and drag a file from Desktop to a folder within that user's home folder, it should move, not copy. If you drag from Desktop to a folder that is elsewhere (NOT in that user's home folder), it should copy, not move.
I'm not sure how this "Guest User" is in the picture. Creating/removing another user and turning FileVault ON/OFF are two separate and unrelated actions, so I'm not sure how they are related for your situation.

I am building a simple flash movie clip in Flash cs4. All I want to do is run the play head through a one 5 frame scene and stop, and then you press a button that will send the play head to the next 10 frame motion tween scene.
When I run the movie all I get is a movie clip that pauses for a millisecond then loops back around.

You can just place an invisible button on the top layer of
the flash time line and code it to getURL. When you said "hyperlink
to another page", are you referring to an html page or another swf
file? To make an invisible button in Flash, you can hit Ctrl+F8 to
bring up the dialog box to create a new symbol, name your button,
make sure you select the type of button, hit ok, now you are inside
the button and need to create a "hit" area. Click on the "hit"
state and press F7 to create a blank key frame. Using the drawing
tools, select the square, no stroke, and any fill color you want,
draw a square shape, click on the shape and in your Info Panel,
change the size of this shape to match the size of your stage,
lastly, make sure the registration point is (0,0) by using the
Align Panel. Go back to your main time line, add a layer on your

That you'll need to find out when you bring it in. Depends upon how much damage was caused by this "drop" of water. In any case:
Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery if it's a portable Mac.
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.

Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).

I think I figured out how to fix it-
I found that if I only delete a small amount at the beginning and at the end of the section that I want to remove - and then highlight that section - Then (and only then) does the "Delete and Move" function work to remove the unwanted section and automatically close the gap between the surrounding sections. I was trying to select a whole section and could only delete it - and then manually move it.
Problem solved.

How can I drag and move my mouse to 'scrub' away a layer

Hi,
I'm trying to make an interactive animation where when the user clicks and moves the mouse around an area, the opacity of that part of the layer decreases and the user gets to see the background layer. It's similar to the idea of using a brush to clean a dirty window.
Can anyone advise on what is the best way to tackle this? Any help is much appreciated!

How come I can't click and drag anything (tabs, bookmarks, etc.) in Firefox anymore?

Windows 7 - I can no longer click and drag anything anymore. Attempting to click and move a tab simply selects the tab. Doing the same thing to a bookmark just selects the bookmark. In addition, Firefox is now hanging every few minutes for anywhere from a few seconds to a minute.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect.

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. Slow FTP upload and click-and-draggable DIVs?

Does anyone know how to set Dreamweaver to only upload files that have been changed? I imported a site I created before with an old version of Front Page, and it takes a long time to upload because it's not only uploading a bunch of files that have not been changed prior. Front Page was a lot faster in uploading since it only uploaded changed files.
Also, does anyone know how to make a DIV click-and-draggable? When I create a new DIV, I can't seem to move it without altering the underlying HTML. An imported page allows me to click and move the DIV though.

I don't know the answer to your first question, but I can answer the second one.
Use the menu at the top, and chose Insert -> Layout Objects -> AP Div. This will put an ap div on the page. Click on it
then click on the blue handle on the upper left corner. Now drag it by the blue handle. The key is to drag by the handle.
I don't think this works on anything other than ap divs.
