Click Event on axis labels

Hi,
I want to provide drill-down facility in chart on axis-labels.
After googling for some time I came to know that there is no way
directly to add Mouse Click event listener on axis labels.
Also in order to provide a listener on axis labels we will have to
extend the axis class.
Does anyone know workaround for this or I'll have to extend the axis class as
the final solution.
Thanks in advance.

  • Click event on a label doesn't work after a certain amount of time?

    I'm having a weird kinda a problem with my label.....I had given a click event on the label but the problem here is that...it won't take any event after a certain amount of time....i mean..it takes the event if you click on it when it is loaded but after sometime it won't take any event...
    And there's one more thing which is that...i've some images too on the page but the images doesn't show up until and unless my mouse gains focus on the page...i.e I've to move my mouse over the page once then only i'm able to see the image...
    Any help on how to solve this problem.....

    The problem is that...the project size is too big and i really don't know where to upload the project.....

  • Editing chart Axis label

    Hi. I have a report where one chart repeats one time, and in Preview, I am able to click on the Axis label and find an option to Edit the label, where I define 1 - 12 as Jan - Dec. However, another chart repeats for 80 or so pages, thus I can't use Preview to edit the label as it effects one chart at a time. Is there a place to edit axis labels in Design?
    Thanks!
    Robin

    Thanks so much for following up on this. To clarify, converting month numbers to names is nice, and I did that using the specified order suggestion, but it doesn't effect the order of say, May, when Jan thru Apr are missing, and in fact created other issues of data misintrepatation I didn't bother resolving at the time.
    I suppose the best solution would be something that supplies a placeholder for blank months, so that the Jan-Dec order remains constast and the data graph bars appear in appropriate months, Jan-Apr no bars, May-Dec with data generated bars.
    Does this help?

  • Click event for specific timeline label?

    Hello,
    I am creating an interactive map: San Diego Gaslamp Interactive Walking Map
    ...it is still in progress at the moment, so only a few things work.
    This question is in regards to the "LODGING/ACCOMMODATIONS" menu on the right hand side.
    I am trying to create 2 click events. Click to open and click to close, so I'm wondering if it's possible to do something like this:
    if at label 2 sym.stop("label1");
    if at label 1 sym.stop("label2");
    I'm not sure how to code the "if at label 2" part...or if it's even possible.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Redesign,
    Thanks for the response!
    I adjusted your code to my document and added the following to the "lodgingindexbutton", but it doesn't appear to be working:
    var MyStop=0;
    sym.$('lodgingindexbutton').bind("click",function(){if (MyStop==0){
    sym.stop("lodgingstart");
    MyStop=1;
    } else {
    sym.stop("lodgingover");
    MyStop=0;
    Not sure if I did something wrong?...
    If you are up for it, I have attached the original files here:
    http://adobe.ly/1vZTtqf
    I am trying to add the "2 clicks" code to the "lodgingindexbutton".
    You can get to it by double-clicking the Index in the upper right corner.
    Then you will see the "lodgingindexbutton" at the top of the index.
    As you can see, I currently have it set to just open, then you can close it by clicking the triangle.
    This is working and will be fine, but I thought it would be nice to click open and click closed as it seems that what a user would want to do.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!!

  • X Axis label of Column Chart

    Hello,
    I am Plotting column chart based on the data present in datagridview;Column 1(having string Data Type) as my X axis value and Column Y as my Y axis value.On Column chart click event i am fetching x axis and y axis co-ordinates of my column chart and displaying
    in Label on my form.But when i click it shows "0" as my x axis cordinate for the clicked column.
    As my x axis is having labels as 06:00:00-07:00:00,07:00:00-08:00:00,..........
    Below is image of my application
    f Chart1.Series(0).Name = "Daily Data" Then
    'Chart1.Series(0).XValueType = ChartValueType.Time
    Chart1.Series(0).Points(result.PointIndex).XValue.ToString()
    'xval = xval.AddHours(Chart1.Series(0).Points(result.PointIndex).XValue)
    Label4.Text = "Selected Coordinates are: " & Chart1.Series(0).Points(result.PointIndex).XValue.ToString & ", " & Chart1.Series(0).Points(result.PointIndex).YValues(0).ToString("f2")
    End If
    Else
    If result.ChartElementType <> ChartElementType.Nothing Then
    Dim elementType As String = result.ChartElementType.ToString()
    Label4.Text = "Selected Element is: " & elementType
    End If
    End If

    You need to get this example from Microsoft. It is a c# project code you just run it in Visual Studio. It shows most everything you can do with a chart. It shows the vb code when you run it and click the vb tab. Near the bottom of the left tree is Appearance
    - Labels etc. Also under data types there are date and time examples. This link is also in the forum faqs at the top of the chart forum posts.
    Chart examples.
    I think you need to tell the chart to use datetime for the labels but I am not sure how and I am not too good with them but that is why I do this to learn things. I would just look in the chart examples from the link I show. That is how I answer most of
    the questions here.
    Can you reproduce your problem using the simple example from the other question? Otherwise I cant really do much.
    Also, most times when you make a simple example you will find the problem or at least understand it better.
    So take a look and come back if you cant get it I then I will try too.

  • How do you fire a button click event on apex page from fancybox iframe that was created by page

    I am trying to fire off the button click event from fancybox iframe. The apex page has a button that launches a fancybox iframe which is loaded with an APEX form. On close of that fancy box, I am trying to fire a click event on the parent page which will refresh a div with html that is created with plsql. The button on the page works as expected when clicked from the page. It will show a debug alert message to prove it was called and then load the div with the correct data. I am unable to fire off this button click from the fancybox iframe when it closes.
    A couple of points:
    I using Plug-in: Execute PL/SQL Code and Return Content ("PLUGIN_MULEDEV.SERVER_REGION_REFRESH") to place the create fancybox statement. It is used to populate a div using plsql.
    The name of the button on the main page is P2020_REFRESH_SECTION_BUILDER_BTN.
    The click dynamic action on the button is calling the plugin to replace the html in the div.
    The data in the form in the fancybox is being saved to the database. On close of the fancybox box I want to refresh the div so the new record is included in the div html.
    Can anyone help. Here is the fancybox code:
      function customProcessOnReadyState4(){
        for (var i=0;i<11;i++){
          $( "#tabs"+i ).tabs();
          $("#createNewExerciseLink"+i).fancybox({

              ''onClosed''         : function() {
                                         window.parent.$(''#P2020_REFRESH_SECTION_BUILDER_BTN'').click();
    Here are the dynamic actions assigned to the button:
    5 - Execute JavaScript Code
    alert("Starting refresh");
    10 - Execute PL/SQL Code and Return Content [Plug-in]
    begin
      SCTUI.create_sct_tabs2(:P2020_CREATE_SECTION_LOV, '1');

  • What is the recommended way to handle mouse click events for custom nodes that subclass Panes?

    Hi,
    I have created a custom node that is a StackPane containing a Label on top of a Polygon.
    import javafx.scene.control.Label;
    import javafx.scene.layout.StackPane;
    import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
    import javafx.scene.shape.Polygon;
    public class CustomHexagon extends StackPane {
        private Polygon hexagon;
        private Label overlayText;
        public CustomHexagon( String text, double... points ) {
            this.hexagon = new Polygon( points );
            this.overlayText = new Label( text );
            overlayText.setStyle( "-fx-font-weight: bold;" );
            hexagon.setStroke( Color.GREEN );
            hexagon.setStrokeWidth( 5.0 );
            hexagon.setFill( Color.WHITE );
            this.getChildren().addAll( hexagon, overlayText );
    // Lays out the node where it should be according to the points provided for the Polygon.
            this.setLayoutX( points[0] - getLayoutBounds().getMinX() );
            this.setLayoutY( points[1] - getLayoutBounds().getMinY() );
    // Show the border of the StackPane.
            this.setStyle( "-fx-border-color: black; -fx-border-width: 1; -fx-border-style: dashed;");
        public String getOverlayText() {
            return overlayText.getText();
    I want to display a tesselation of these custom hexagons. Because a CustomHexagon is a StackPane, not a Polygon, MouseClick events can be picked up when the mouse is clicked outside of the stroke of the hexagon but still within the StackPane (which takes up a rectangle larger than the hexagon). The following program demonstrates this.
    public class Main extends Application {
        @Override
        public void start(Stage primaryStage) {

    After running this program, when one clicks within the intersection of two StackPanes (borders shown by dashed lines), the target of the mouse click event will be the StackPane on top as determined by the order in which they were added to their parent.
    This is a problem because there is only a small "T" shaped area within each hexagon that when clicked will target that hexagon with an event, rather than adjacent nodes.
    I would appreciate any reccomendations to solve this problem.
    Thanks,
    James Giller

    Hello, this is an evergreen. Just call setPickOnBounds(false) on the CustomHexagon.
    An issue tracking this problem is open here: https://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-17024

  • How to display axis labels on both x and y-axis of a column chart

    hi,
     i have an urgent requirement of having axis labels on both x and y axis
    In x-axis i got it by sorting order also but in y-axis i'm unable to do
    i need in y-axis ,my column values are L1,L2,L3,----L10these shuold display in y-axis in sorting order and 0 in axis should remain as it is ..........how to take the interval ....? as of now i'm using Auto
    my y-axis values shud look like 0,L1,L2,L3,L4,----L10can anyone get perfect solution
    thanx in advance
    lucky

    Hi Lucky,
    Per my understanding that you want to display the values(Column1) like  "L1,L2,L3....L10" which comes from the "Series group" in the Y-Axis label and keep the row group in "Category group" to
    display in the x-axis and Numric column(1,2,3,4) in the "Value", right?
    Gernerally the lable display in the y-axis is automatically based on the value of the Numric column in the "Value" and it default is numbric labels.
    I have tested on my local environment and in your scenario, i suggest to hide the axis lable of the y-axis and create an tablix to only show the one column contains the values (L1,L2,L3,L3) to display in the place of the hidden y-axis label.
    Detais information about to design an new y-axis label ae below for your reference:
    Create an tablix to display only the row group of the "Column1" ( for the
    Column1 may have duplicate values, you can create parent row group for this column and hide the detail column by setting the "Column Visibility").
    Right click the y-axis to select the "Vertical Axis Properties" and select the "Labels" on the left pane to check the "Hide Axis labels"
    Select the Chart Area and in the properties set value of left=0 under the CustomPosition:
    Set the border style=None for both the Chart and Column1's row group
    Drag the tablix at the position near the hidden y-axis and set the size of both the chart and the tablix to make the value in the tablix row group(Column1) to be align with the y-axis label:
    Right click the "Chart legend" to delete or hide the legend
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Flex Column Chart X-axis Label position

    Hello,
    I have a Column Chart and am wanting to align the X-axis labels on top of each Column. Is there a way to achieve this?
    Can we change the  label's default position? I know there is a "rotation" property which rotates the labels but i want to change the label postion.
    Any help/pointers is highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Been diging throught he charts source to figure out if there is a way of doing what I wanted, and appartntly there is (well - for the most part). For anyone else interested there is a property called alignLabelsToInterval for the LinearAxis class. This is not documented but it is a public variable - in the code ( http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/flex/sdk/trunk/frameworks/projects/charts/src/m x/charts/LinearAxis.as ):
    * @private
    public function get alignLabelsToInterval():Boolean
    return _alignLabelsToInterval;
    * @private
    public function set alignLabelsToInterval(value:Boolean):void
    if (value != _alignLabelsToInterval)
    _alignLabelsToInterval = value;
    invalidateCache();
    dispatchEvent(new Event("mappingChange"));
    dispatchEvent(new Event("axisChange"));
    Setting this parameter to false allows the base label to stay on the origin of the chart. Then you need to compute a suitable interval for the axis to get the labels you want.
    Phew!

  • How to display PIE chart Axis label horizontally?

    Hi
    Currently my PIE chart axis label is displying in 2 lines. How make it to display in one line?
    Thank you

    hi,
    For Pie chart there will be no X-axis or Y-axis terms generally.
    Label/Text could be one of the following.
    Title?
    or Sub Title?
    or Foot note?
    Right Click -> Format Title . Reduce the font size such that it fits into a single line.

  • Labview Intensity Graph Vertical Axis Label

    When I change the font of the vertical axis label of a Labview intensity graph, the label disappears. Is this a Labview bug or is there a way to correct the problem?

    Here are those screenshots... I was a little quick to submit
    - JLS
    PS - of course, when you're editing the free label, it doesn't have those nasty affects, and if you group the objects (see the Free Label and Grouping screenshot) it behaves (at least cosmetically) much like a native graph label

  • On Click event for button not firing

    Hi,
    I'm writing a portlet under Plumtree 5.0.2 and using web controls 2.1 (released version).
    I have a form that has a text box, a label, and a submit button. By cliking on the button the text from the box should appear in the label. If I run the application outside the portal everything seems to work fine, but on the portal the click event does not fire. why?
    I have my ptrender tag on the form, httpmodules in the config file, GetPostBackEventReference on Page_Load. Did I forget something?
    any advice is appreciated. Thanks
    Tania

    Tania,
    You'll need to add ptrender="true"to the button's opening tag if you want the button's server-side code to execute. Also, you won't need ptrender on the form's opening tag.
    From what I can see, placing ptrender on the form's opening tag can be used for two things:(i) when the user clicks a button (which doesn't have ptrender itself) causes the browser to return to the portal, similar to executing portletresponse.ReturnToPortal() in your server-side code.(ii) causing a third-party control to similarly return to the portal as (i) above.
    Nick.

  • IChart x-axis labels

    I'm having some issues with the x-axis labels on an iChart.
    The data I'm trying to display returns a date column I want to use as the x-axis labels. The data returned looks similar to the following:
    MY_DATE | project1 | project2 | project3 .... Where the number of project columns returned can be variable, and the column names change as well based on the project name. The one column always returned in the data is the MY_DATE column.
    The issue I'm having is that it doesn't display the custom labels for the x-axis. I specify "MY_DATE" as the "X-Axis Label Columns", yet it completely ignores it. I've verified in the javascript that the MY_DATE column is specified as the label column, but it doesn't use it.
    I think I discovered what is making it not work, but I cannot figure out why. I have another identical display template, one has a static set of columns returned. I can then specify the "Value Columns" in the "Data Mapping" template category of the display template, as well as the label column "MY_DATE" under the X-axis label columns. In this case it works, but when I take the Data Mapping "Value Columns" away, the dates disappear from the x-axis.
    Does anyone have another way to set custom labels for the x-axis? Or any insight as to why it wouldn't work?

    Austin,
    What do you want the user to see initially?  An empty chart?  Please explain the initial state of the chart and how the user interacts with it.
    1.  Is your query time-sensitive?  This means in the SQL Query you have designated a Date Column or used the SD and ED tokens in a filter expression.  If the query is time-sensitive, the date will automatically map as the X-Axis label.  If it is not time-sensitive, in addition to adding the My_Date to the X-Axis Label Colunms, add it to the X-Axis Value Columns.
    2.  I have found that if I return all the columns in the query, then I simply have to do this to make them show upon some event triggered by the user:
    // assume user chose these columns
    var valCols = "ProjA,ProjB,ProjC";
    var chartObj = document.AreaChart.getChartObject();
    chartObj.setValueColumns(valCols);
    document.AreaChart.updateChart(true);
    3.  I wrote a small transaction using the same query and display template in the Chart action block configuration.  I created a transaction property for inputting the value columns (a comma-separate list) and linked this transaction property (the source property) to the Chart action's ValueColumns property (the desination property).  I then use a PDF Document action and a PDF Image action, linking the encodedImage property of the Chart to the encodedImage.  When I varied the content of the transaction input property to use differenct columns, the changes showed in the PDF Document.
    Hope this is helpful.
    Kind Regards,
    Diana Hoppe
