Clicking Noise On Keyboard

Not sure where I started this conversation because I can't find it. I found where to turn off the clicking and vibrating noise on the keyboard when you send text messages. It's under: Setting >Language and Input> Samsung Keyboard>General Settings and unclick Key-tap vibration and Key-Tap Sound.

If it is the motion sensor causing it then its normal, sometimes if i press the keys a bit quick or to hard it will do it.
Try turning the motion sensor off for a bit and see if the noise stops.
To turn off go to the terminal and type sudo pmset -a sms 0
To turn back on use the same command but change the 0 for a 1
Then try it for a bit and see if the click has stopped. If it has you know it is the motion sensor parking the HDD because its detected movement,
Let me know how you get on.

My phone key tones are audible now even though keyboard click noise turned off. i have turned keyboard clicks on and off and turned iphone on and off but still happening.

Why do you believe keyboard clicks and dialing tones are connected in some way? Neither one has anything to do with the other.

  • Macbook Pro 2010 Running Slow and Pulse/Click Noise (Not Hard Drive)

Hello. My 13" Macbook Pro mid-2010 (7,1) suddenly began running slow and lagging on certain operations. There is also a light pulse/click noise coming from the center of the keyboard. I am sure this is not a failing hard drive. How, you may ask me, am I so sure??? Well, I originally thought it was a failing hard drive and so replaced the hard drive, and there was absolutely no change, and the lagging and noise still continues. This makes it very frustrating to do basic, low-memory-intensive things like browse on Safari or watch a movie.
I have upgraded to Mavericks, and have 8gb Ram. This problem started suddenly about a month after upgrading to Mavericks. In fact right now my computer is lagging just typing this, Activity Monitor says I am only using 2.75 ram of 8gb.
Steps I have taken with no resolution
    -Replaced the hard drive
    -Reinstalled OSX Mavericks
-Verified and Repaired Permissions (I still get a message the the following item can't be repaired "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent". But I have read that this is a common thing and can be ignored.
-Restarted the computer holding down left shift-option-control and the power key for 10 seconds (not sure exactly what this resets, but some type of system cache thing.
-Reset the PVRAM stuff ( I restarted the computer holding down command-p-r. I'm not sure I did this correctly as it went to the firmware disk repair screen.
Could there be a RAM issue? Does RAM start making noise when it goes bad? I bought my upgraded ram from ebay, it isn't the official Apple Store stuff. Could replacing the ram possibly help? My System Report tells me the RAM is OK.
Putting a message on here for help is the last step before giving up. I can't do much with this computer because it is hiccupy and overall difficult.
    Thanks.

My iphone dosen't doesn't make key tone sounds anymore when I write a text message or when I want to dial a phone number I don't know how to fix this problem, I don't hear the clicking noise anymore does anyone know how to fix this problem? And all the sounds on my phone are on, even the keyboard clicks.

Try restarting your iPhone by holding down the on/off and the home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, double check the volume button just in case.  If you still can't hear the tones go into your settings>sounds and make sure the options are on.

Now that #10 would be about U28 or the GPU. U28 is that site I sent you. The GPU sits under the option-Apple key and you can put pressure on it from underneath that area. There is a large heat spreader that sits on top so you have to come from underneath.

  • Weird clicking noise on my MacBook Air! Please Help!

Hello everyone, I have a 1 month old MacBookAir and I been having the same issue as many people with the weird clicking noise coming from the keyboard.
I tried tapping it under the power buttom and it didnt't work, does anybody have any more ideas?
Thanks so much for the help.

Other users have claimed to have success with giving the laptop a swift smack on the bottom or on the side...  I am wondering if this problem is related to a loose audio cable with the internal speaker, resulting in a scrambled signal, producing surges in the speaker.   If the computer is under warrenty, you should take it in to have it looked at... If not,  You can open the  bottom case and check.

  • Hello, my 2012 MacBook pro makes a clicking noise

Hello, my 2012 MacBook pro makes a clicking noise in the bottom right of my computer. The empty space below the keyboard where you are supposed to rest your hands. I press it and it sounds like something is snapping almost.

You should also ask this in the MacBook Pro forum. This is the forum for the 13” white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

  • Clicking Noise in Macbook Air

Starting just a couple of days ago, theres a very quiet clicking noise coming from inside my Macbook Air. The computer works just fine but there's a strange clicking noise coming from around the A key on the left side of the keyboard. It occurs freqently in about five second intervals. Every so often if I move my laptop, it'll make a really loud sound from the same part that lasts about 3 seconds. Has this happened to anyone? And what should I do about it?
    Thanks.

It may or may not be a serious problem.
I suggest contacting an Authorized Apple Service Provider for an initial diagnosis:

    Hi,
I have read in this forum that keyboard problems may be solved updating Bios. You should try it:
    http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=60
you can check if a new version is available for your lap:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Note, Bios update is a tricky procedure that can finish with total system collapse if it goes wrong. Moreover, the warranty doesn't cover bios failure. Anyway, try to restore os to bring the factory setting before touching the bios

  • HT3131 Macbook pro + external display sleeps when lid closed and 'clicking' noise

Hi all, new mid-2012 macbook pro non-retina user, I have an PC external display with Microsoft USB wired keyboard and mouse pair (the keyboard and mouse are wireless but connected via a USB desktop receiver) but even when all connected up, shutting the mac lid always turns off external display too and no amount of pressing keys or mouse clicking wakes up the display again. External display only wakes up when I open the lid again. There's also a clicking noise from the mac every time I close the lid with external display connected. Any ideas? I've tried a number of things, wondering possibly if my cheapo (non-Apple) VGA external display to Minidisplayport adaptor is the culprit? Also, everytime I connect the display I have to go to display settings to get it to recognise the external display. I haven't installed any software for the USB mouse and keyboard , the macbook recognises it ok.

    Hi Itsfixed,
It sounds like you are having issues running your MacBook Pro in closed clamshell mode (computer closed but awake, connected to an external display). If possible, you may want to see if it behaves as expected when connected to a wired USB keyboard and mouse as outlined in the first section of the article; wireless USB (non-Bluetooth) keyboards may not be recognized by the system the same way for the purposes of running with the display closed.

  • Macbook Internals clicking noise

I have an Intel Macbook which is about 1-1.5 yrs old. It has seen little to no wear or tear, never been dropped, etc. Last night, I was putzing around (in Photoshop, if it matters) and the normal loud whirring I hear during this time was cut short by a sharp, short grinding noise. Now, however, the computer makes a brief two-click noise every 8-10 seconds.
At first, I thought this was the hard drive, but now I am not sure. Now I am thinking this could be the fan, as my battery seemed especially warm afterwards.
Is there any info I can get such as where to get a replacement fan, whether I should send it in or replace it myself, if this is something else, if this is common, etc? Thanks in advance

There are things you can do to determine if it is the fan or the drive.
Run some apps that make your CPU usage very high. This will increase the heat and the fan speed. Your noise should change if it is the fan.
You can remove the hard drive and just boot from the install DVD. If the noise is gone your HD was probably making it.
You can remove the keyboard (easy, just watch the YouTube "how to") and actually look at the fan. You can replace it yourself for that matter.

  • Why does my MacBook Pro make clicking noises when pressure is applied to the unibody?

I purchased a MacBook Pro in late July of this year. Recently, I have noticed that when I begin to type on the keyboard, the unibody will make a faint sound when pressure from my hands is applied to the MacBook. I also notice a faint clicking noise when I pick up the MacBook Pro to move it somewhere. Additionally, the screen hinge makes a faint clicking noise when the screen is opened. Are these sounds normal?

Check if an AASP (Apple Authorised Service Provider) is closer, as some do not trust Geek Squad to diagnose something as simple as "all the keys are missing". But judge for yourself.: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434

  • MBP 13": single clicking noise when cooling down

Hello, I noticed that every time when my 2011 MBP cools down, say, after playing a game or other processor/graphics-intensive tasks, a single clicking noise is emitted (roughly) from the area around the left side of the keyboard. Is this a build quality issue? Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance.

Well, I found out the solution to this problem. My 3 month ago MBP had the internal hard drive die on it. I took my MBP to the Mac Genius and he tested it a number of different ways. The HD was bad. I really needed my MBP for a business trip the next week so I bought the ProCare card to ensure that my MBP would be fixed in time. It was ready three days later. No problems since!
