I wonder if someone can help me. I wrote server/client program there client read text file fr server.
I don't know khow to make client to read from 2 servers files parallelly - same time. I suppose I must start 2 threads i client program that reads servers.

so the server reads something from a file and them writes it to clients connected to it write?
well, first of all, if you have not done, make the server accept multiple connections (if you dont know how, heres a start: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/sockets/clientServer.html )
now, if you already know how to do that, the client side is far easier:
create a thread that creates, connect and communicate with the server...

Quite new here I am,
I want to implement the scenario where a client reads data (Line) from 2 servers at the same time in parallel. I have been looking at examples over the net but nearly all the cases refer to multiple clients and a single server. The client after receiving the lines which consists of strings in parallel from servers, it will sort the words and display the 20 words with most occurrences. I'm new to threading so any help is definetely appreciated. I have a deadline until tonight. Thanks for your help.

Reading data from WEB servers through PL/SQL

I was unclear where to put this question.
But i want to know if PL/SQL is capabel of doing this or not.
There is a website which displays a game score at any given point in time during which the game is played.
I want to read that score and insert in that table.
and whenever i do a select * from that table it gives me the latest score.
Is this possible , what all i need to achieve this?

From your own computer now, I want you to access the hard drive or one of your colleagues machines without using any special admin access or shares that they've set up on their computer, and then read the files from their computers hard disk. Can you do that? No of course you can't because computers and networks have security to prevent people accessing things that don't belong to them. No imagine you wanted to take that a step further and not just access files on your colleagues hard drive, but you want to access information that is being stored in their computers memory? Even more impossible? Yes.
You're asking for PL/SQL code running on a server (which is just another computer at the end of the day) to hack across the network, accessing some persons client computer, and read information about a game that is running in their computers internet browser, which is effectively a program running in memory. If you can't do it from your computer, what makes you think that Oracle database code has any better chance? If the information is not being passed back out from the client computer to a place where it can be accessed, then that information isn't available, and you'll only get that sort of thing if you're a damn good hacker and find a back door to bypass all network and operating system security measures.
This is the nature of basic client server architecture.

So you are wanting to access information from a web server that you have no access to and you don't know anything about. You do understand the basics of computer technology don't you?

Reading Data from SQL Server 2000 Linked Servers

I have a colleague who wants to read data from a OO4O driver Linked Server my FRENCH_FRANCE.US7ASCII Oracle 8i database.
He's got some troubles to read data with "é", "à", and so on. They always replaced by "?"
Since I have ask him to use SQL Developer on his server to see if he has got configuration problems, his PL/SQL queries return "square figure" characters (not the usual "²") instead of "?".
For info, I've said it to use CONVERT(column, 'FR8DEC', 'US7ASCII) but it doesn't work too (also try with 'UTF8' or 'WE8MSWIN1252')
Is there a way with the SQL Server collation ???
How can I solve his problem ???

The select query returns the following infos :

My colleague uses the 10.2.0.1.0 client with ODAC 10.2.0.2.20.

Reading data from another clients network connection

I would like anyone who know to direct me to some resources for how one could write code that can read data from a port without "binding" to it. In other words, I have an application running on windows talking to a server. I want to monitor that conversation with a separate java application. This is a simple sort of a firewall.
Is there a java api available, or a part of a package that can do this? So far, I have only seen information on binding to a port, which prevents the client from running at the same time as my java application.

The simplest way to implement this is to create a proxy. The client connects to your proxy and your proxy connects and forward all data. Montioring this is then trivial.
You could snoop the network, but I don't know and easy way to this in Java. Perhaps google has something.

HTTP-500 Error Reading Data from Client!!

I'm trying to create a page where by clients are able to contact us through the portal. So, it's a pretty basic form where I have a text box for the subject, and a text area for the message body.
My problem is when the message body is over a certain size, I'm getting a "portlet cannot be contacted" on my screen. The Apache log comes up with the error:
[error] mod_plsql: /pls/portal/!PORTAL.wwpob_page.show HTTP-500 Error Reading Data from Client!!
I'm not using a windows OS, so the bug that has been talked about previously talked about shouldn't be the problem.
Also, I am using a POST rather than a GET, so I don't think it has to do with the browser (and I have tested this on Firefox and IE 5.5 and IE 6).
Would appreciate any advise.

Are you using SSL? Maybe, it has to do with it. I encountered a similar problem. It turned up that this read error occurred inside Apache and was caused by a nonstandard-SSL-request by Internet Explorer. te remedy was to add this to the Apache configuration:
SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \
nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0
It tells Apache to switch to HTTP/1.0 and to never keep open socket connections with MSIE on SSL connections.

TcpListener not working on Azure: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

i'm playing a little bit with Windows Azure and I'm blocked with a really simple issue (or maybe not).
I've created a Cloud Service containing one simple Worker Role. I've configured an EndPoint in the WorkerRole configuration, which allows Input connections via tcp on port 10100.
Here the ServiceDefinition.csdef file content:

I've already tried to configure an internal port in the ServiceDefinition.csdef file, but I get the same exception there.
As you can see, the client can connect to the service (the log shows the message: Client connected with the address) but when it tries to read the bytes from the stream, it throws the exception.
For me it seems like Azure is preventing the retrieval of the message. I've tried to disable the Firewall in the VM in Azure and the same continues happening.
I'm using Windows Azure SDK 2.3

check whether the bank offers webservice to get this data, if yes either from ABAP of JAVA you can consume this webservice to get the bank statement.

from abap you can use cl_http_client to make your ABAP to act as http client to read data from that website. (search weblog and ABAP forums for cl_http_client - there are lot of examples)

Error in Reading data from a xml file in ESB

Hi,
i created a inbound file adapter service which reads data from a xml file and passes it to the routing service and from there updates to the database.....
(everything created in jdeveloper)
But i am getting error....it is not getting updated to the database...when i check the database(select * from table) its showing one row selected but i couldnt find the data....
Transformation mapping also i did...
i think may be some error in reading the data from the xml file but not so sure.....
please reply to this mail as soon as possible its very urgent

In my case when I use my sqldeveloper I can see data successfully inserted in my target table and also in error table (data that can't satisfy the constraint) .But I was unable to check this by following the above mentioned 10 th step and got this error.

Error while reading data from MapMessage using MDB

Hi,
I have written a small client program to send a message to a queue and an MDB receives the message in the onMessage() method. The message is of type MapMessage. I set key value pairs and send the message in a queue. When I try to read data from MapMessage inside onMessage() method of MDB, I get an exception:-

When I send the message, by default the readonlymode is false. How do I set the mode to readonly exclusively in case of MapMessage ?

I do not have any problem with TextMessages...I works fine..It is only with MapMessage that I am not able to read the values..Before sending the message, the message has the flag "readMode" set to false by default by the server...R there any configurations to be made to any files like web.xml or server.xml or jms.xml ?
I am running my JMS application on JDeveloper IDE that has an in-built OC4J server which supports JMS.

Unable to read data from the SAP marketplace

Hi All,
    These days, certain packages in my download basketball cannot be downloaded, while others can be downloaded normally.
     After serveral redirecting, the SAP download manager keeps informing me that "Unable to read data from the SAP marketplace, check your settings and try again".
     Anyone knows how to solve it?

You user on SAP MarketPlace is locked.
You have to unlock it but I do not know the way.
Check in user data maintenance on SAP MarketPlace who is your responsible and perhaps he wwill be able to solve to unlock our user.

Select data from multiple servers(instances)

Hi All,
Is possible that we can login to SQLPLUS of one server and be able
to select data from other servers. For MSSQL server we can use
opendatasource but I don't know if in ORACLE we can
get the data from other servers by login to SQLPLUS of one server.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

The attempt to read data from the server failed

Today I was looking into an error with several IMAP accounts in Apple Mail:
+The attempt to read data from the server "<<servername.tld>>" failed.+
At first I thought this was an Apple Mail problem, as the accounts in question seemed to work just fine when not used in combination. One possible answer to this problem is rather short:
Apple Mail uses IMAP caching, which uses more than 4 connections at the same time to the mail server. Some mail servers (like courier-imap in its default configuration) do not allow that much connections from the same IP address. The more accounts you are trying to connect to at the same time raises this number of connections. Meaning while you could probably check one account for new mails, the second will ultimately fail for no obvious reasons. The only solution to this problem is to raise the connections allowed by your IMAP server software. this solution only applies to people who have root access to their mail server.
in courier-imap you have to edit /etc/courier-imap/imapd
and change MAXPERIP=4 to a higher number (5 to 10 times the number of accounts you want to check simultaneously)
and change MAXDAEMONS=40 to a higher number (with only one user 200 might work, whereas if you serve multiple users, something like 500 or higher might be better suited).
of course increasing the numbers increases load on your server. this is why there are these restrictions in place.

MY SOLUTION REPOSTED FROM ANOTHER THREAD:
I've just solved a similar issue.
I have a dedicated server running Plesk 9.5 and when I upgraded to iLife 11 and Snow Leopard this error appeared. I could quickly click "get mail" and I'd get all my mail, but only 3-4 of my 9 mail accounts would connect. Theo others would have the error:
"The server error encountered was: The attempt to read data from the server..."
I found solutions for those using IMAP mail:
modify the /etc/courier-imap/imapd configuration file and change MAXDAEMONS from 40 to 80 and MAXPERIP from 4 to 40. This allows all the machines behind my home firewall to connect to multiple accounts on the e-mail server with mailbox caching enabled.
I'd made this change on my server but it didn't seem to have any effect. It dawned on me that I'm using POP, not IMAP. So I found in /etc/courier-imap/pop3d the same settings. I changed the MAXDAEMONS from 40 to 80 and MAXPERIP from 4 to 40 and voila, all my connections concurrently worked.
This has taken me more than two days to fix and I hope posting this helps someone else with the same issue.
