Cloning a Panel
Hi,
I have a problem in work around with cloning a panel(say p1). Actually I want to show a new Frame with p1. Also I need to show the panel p1 in my old frame also. the panel p1 is working fine still the new frame appears, but once it is cloned and appears in the new frame, it is not showing its components properly in the old frame. Any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks.
Actually I cloned the super object, not all the objects in the panel.

Multiple panels of the same vi
I want to run a VI multiple times at the same time (in parallel).
That works in principle (dynamicaly load and run it in reentrant mode).
But I never get multiple copies of the frontpanel of that VI.
I tried several things, but I saw only one frontpanel of all the instances I started.
How can I do that ??To dynamically create VIs with front panels you need to clone the VI. VI cloning can be done in many different ways, but if you want to build an executable of the code the attached example works very nicely.
Just unzip the archive as it is and open and run main.vi in the llb file, then hit the new graph button to create clones of a VI displaying a graph of data controlled from main.vi.
In this case I clone the VI by making copies of a VI that is included together with the llb/executable (when distributed I normally remove the diagramme of the VI), and I share data using a VI global.
Another approach is to call a VI template instead of copying, and set the start value of the controls using VI server functionality, you can probably find more info about
that if you search for VI cloning or cloning front panels.
VI cloning is very useful even if the VI is not going to show a front panel; if you make a client-server solution and want each client session to be handled in parallel make a session handler, clone it for each connection and pass the connection handle to the clones by putting them in a list together with the name of the clone to handle that connection...The clone searches through the list, finds the connection and starts handling the commands from the client.

Photoshop cc 2014 suddenly trouble with cloning and healing tool
I just updated photoshop cc 2014. I use a wacom tablet. Suddenly, when I use the healing brush or cloning brush. The brush control panel pops up and the tool simply doesn't work. After repeated attempts, I do succeed in getting this to work. Sure slows me down though.
Sorry for the lack of the report it was my first time reporting an error for software... Never had an issue before.
I haven't experienced the crash via text tool since I posted the question, but the Photoshop is still constantly crashing at startup, but every time I try to enter the report I get the error: Please try again later.m5 -
Java Control Panel quit unexpectedly while using the libjvm.dylib plug-in.
OS X Server1 0.8.4, Mac Mini (5,1), Java 7u25 (jre-7u25-macosx-x64.dmg).
Tried removing and re-installing Java 7u25 directly from Oracle's site. Also did a fix disk permissions, rebuilt caches, deleted java caches, etc... I can't simply get the Java control panel to launch.
I have the same version running on my MacBook Air (OS X 10.8.4 w/ Java 7u25) with no issues. Obviously something is differnet and I see a lot of complaints of various versions of Java 7 and OS X on different searches, yet no solutions. I also tried re-installing the JavaForOSX2013-004.dmg patch, even though this shouldn't affect access to the control panel, but could block a plugin from running in the browser (which ultimately is what I'm trying to solve).
I can't revert back to Apple's Java 6, as the Java application I'm trying to run requires Java 7. Details of the latest crash:

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Hello. I was stupid enough to make a clone of the disk in my Powerbook G4 with Super Duper before checking it was compatible with Leopard. I wasnt. I got several errors on the new larger drive after boot like:
system extension was installed the wrong way and must be reinstalled.
The files are in:
/system/Library/Extensions/System.kext/PlugIns/
Libkern.kext , Mach.kext , BSDKernel.kext and IOKit.kext ,
The others are in:
/system/Library/Extensions/
autofs.kext , IOFireWireFamily.kext and IOFirewireSBP2.kext
The powerbook boots but there is several probs. Mail wont start, Bluetoot is not there, Photoshop wont start and more.
I still have the old drive with the previous system, but that drives is not visible as a boot drive in startup disk control panel. Anything I can do beside swap disks and use carbon copy cloner? Install Leopard from the DVD?
Thanks for any advice
Message was edited by: eflatenSorry. I cloned my internal 10.5.1 80 gig disk to external 250 gig in a firewire cabinette. Then I replaced the original one inside my powerbook G4 with this clone. I made the clone with latest Super Duper, which I later found out was not compatible. So it is the 250 gig now inside my mac that doesnt work. Thanks for asking for clarifying

IMac G4 flat panel with slow mouse and ever-whirring fan
hi there -
my lovely iMac has treated me well for some time now, but gradually over the course of many months, it decided that it will not stop running it's fan, even when it seems cool it the touch and the room is cool. The noise is loud enough to drown out quiet music, and usually kicks in if the computer has been off overnight within about 15-20 minutes of startup, never to stop. i ave tried giving her space, moving the routers etc away, but alas...
also, my mac has become prone to freezing the mouse quite often, but unplugging the mouse and replugging it seems to always fix it for a bit, but only temporarily - like 3 minutes or so sometimes, sometimes it's fine for longer after unplugging but just slow to react. and while it never used to freeze up altogether, it now quite often does.
we have a good amount of programs and music, but i don't know enough about computers to know how much is too much. we always try to keep as little running as possible - i.e. just netscape, or netscape and itunes, or just itunes. here are my computer's stats:
iMac G4 flat panel, 700MHZ Power PC G4 768 MB SD RAM
i don't know if this is helpful, but:
capacity on hard drive:38.15 GB available: 2.87
any thoughts from you experts out there would be so very greatly appreciated. i love my little mac dearly, and don't want to see her bite the dust if all it would take is a little preemptive work! please help.
iMac g4 flatscreen Mac OS X (10.4.8)My interpretation of the information you noted about the capacity of the
hard disk drive and the remaining free-space, is indicative of too-full a
hard disk drive so that could be the main problem. Instead of less than
10% capacity remaining unused, you need to have more like 20% free.
There also is a chance there could be bad sectors or some low-level
corruption on the hard disk drive, in part due to it being too full and
the drive is also using alot of space normally used as virtual memory
by the system, so these small remaining places not filled all the time
are being re-used and that could force the machine to cannabalize
other data stored on the hard disk drive while the OS is looking for
VM (virtual memory is automatically allotted and maintained by the
system, by using hard drive free space; all applications and utilities
on the computer use, need, and look for it.)
Other causes of kernel panics could be related to hardware or software.
Since the hard disk drive is extremely suspect, that is a place to start.
The use of an external FireWire hard disk drive to save some files to,
may be helpful; setting up a new external FW HDD may be hard since
your computer maybe too full to get and use a cloning utility (superdooper
or carbon copy cloner) but you may be able to save some items to CD
or DVD-R media; and then start moving the originals of your saved work
from the computer to the trash. A utility such as What Size can be handy
to see what files are huge, where they are (and note system files are not
the ones you need to toss; user generated ones are) and delete some.
If the hard drive has sufficient damage from over-writing data, it may
need to be replaced. If not, it may need to be totally erased and the
Disk Utility used to zero old data and reformat. This is where a working
copy (clone) on an external drive could be re-cloned back into a Mac
from an earlier capture of the healthy system, and save alot of time in
the restoration process; since a clone does not require all the installer
discs to get a full system back. It does require forethought and action
before a problem; and making backups of your system off the computer.
I make complete computer hard drive copies with a clone utility; but these
are not automatic. It is possible to set up a computer with an automatic
backup system to make ongoing clones of the complete internal drive.
The slowness of your system and peripherials is most likely the full
hard disk drive; and/or issues resulting from that. I suspect this area
is one requiring action and may be just a starting point to fix damages. -
Windows 7 Enterprise is not genuine after installing new hard-drive and cloning the old one
I retired from my job as a university professor two years ago, and they let me keep my laptop computer, which is a Dell Latitude E4300 with Windows 7 Enterprise installed. I do not have any of the original disks for Windows. Recently, the hard-drive began
to fail, so I replaced it with a new one, cloning the old hard-drive onto the new one. Soon after that, a popup window began appearing saying that this computer is not running genuine windows. One important consequence of this is that I can no longer use Windows
Update, so I have concerns about security. If I go to the control panel under “System”, it says windows is activated and gives me the Product ID. I have talked to tech support at Microsoft, and they tell me something along the lines of the following: that
the problem is the new hard-drive is not recognized as being licensed to use this copy of Windows, and that I should post a question on one of the forums asking this: How can I reinstall Windows 7 Enterprise on the new hard-drive? Any assistance will be much
appreciated.
PS I have no idea which forum this should go under, so pretty much just picked one randomly.Thank you for the reply. Below is the diagnostic report:

Problem with cloning a DataSource
Hello!!
I have cloned a DataSource and used the cloned DataSource(not the original DataSource which i used for cloning) for transmitting via RTP. I don get any exception or any error but the audio isn't getting transmitted.
(I tried receiving the transmitted audio stream using JMF.. But JMF doesn't detect any)
However when i use the DataSource(which i used for cloning) it worked..
dl=CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(new AudioFormat(AudioFormat.LINEAR));
ml=((CaptureDeviceInfo)dl.firstElement()).getLocator();
+staticsource=Manager.createCloneableDataSource(Manager.createDataSource(ml)); //staticsource has been declared as static and i tried to clone it to produce new DataSources whenever i need+
source=((SourceCloneable)staticsource).createClone();
+p=Manager.createProcessor(source);
// I tried using staticsource and it worked but i need to get it right using the cloned one..+
I think i have explained my problem pretty clearly.. Sorry if i din..
Thanks!!
Edited by: s.baalajee on Jun 2, 2009 9:08 AMThanks for the help sir.. I read a previous post of yours which helped me to track down the mistake.. It was a small mistake in my logic.. I had not used the DataSource I used for cloning to create the processor(which means I din use it)..
When I used that also to create processor the clones produced from that DataSource worked.. I have posted the modified code below..

Cloning display while keeping native resolutions.
Hi!
I want to clone my screen but I want the picture to be displayed in de the native resolutions of both my displays.
Situation:
I have a 17" MacBook Pro (native resolution =1680x1050) and I have a 19" LCD-panel (native resolution = 1280x1024). Now, if I connect the LCD-panel with my MB P my desktop is being cloned. The resoltion on both monitors changes to 1280x1024.
So, no problem fot the 19" LCD-panel (Because the picture is being displayed in the native resolution of the screen.) but the picture on my MB P looks very "yuk".
Is there a way to correctly display the the picture (my desktop) on both monitors?You can't "clone your display" at both native resolutions (for one thing, the aspect ratio is very different between your two displays). Running an LCD display at anything other than it's native resolution leads to a "fuzzy" appearance due to the way LCDs generate an image - there's no fix for that, it's a physical property of the technology.
You have mirroring turned on. With the external display connected, go to System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement tab and UNcheck the Mirror Displays box.
Now you will have a desktop that spans across both displays, and you can use both at once.
(Note - when you first uncheck mirroring, the external display may have the generic Apple desktop background. If so, go to System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver and it will refresh and shop your chosen backdrop on the external monitor as well. Also note that your menu bar and dock will only show on your internal display.) -
LV 8.0.1 'NOT RESPONDING' and/or 'split' and unusable front panel while scrolling
Hello,
Is anyone aware of any display or front-panel glitches and bugs with LV 8.0.1? I have been using LV for years, but I have never seen the front panel tear itself (literally) in sections while I use the standard scoll bars at the edges of teh screen, then become completely unusable and go into [NOT RESPONDING] mode (???). In other words, my front panel displays have always moved as one continuous piece when scrolling. During these recent episodes, I would use the scroll bars and parts of my front panel displays would not move while the other section(s) tore away and scrolled as I commanded. When this happens, my entire PC would slow down, the CPU usage would rise and a approach 100%, and the VI was unusable. I have been writing a particular VI for several months, starting in LV 6.1, then LV 8.0 PRO-DEV, and recently upgraded to the LV 8.0.1 'maintenance' release. The problem that I describe here began to occur within two weeks of the maintenance upgrade. The problem seemed to be propagating to my back-up version after I opened each VI in unsuccessful attempts to find a VI that did not appear corrupted. It seemed as if any VI that I opened was going to be plagued by the bug that I described above and I thought that I was going to lose months of expensive work and my job!!!!. In a last ditch effort ( and a stroke of pure genius) I started saving some of these coorupt version as 'PREVIOUS' in LV7.1 format. This seems to have turned the situation around, for now, and saved my VIs from becoming corrupted and completely unusable.
Please let me know if anyone else has seen this. Also, please let me know how to avoid this, in the future. Does this indicate corruption of my LV 8.0.1 PRO-DEV environment or the VI files (or both)? Does NI have tools to correct these corruptions?
Thank you.Thank you. I can only point to the following events/ techniques that were somewhat different from my previous experiences/ techniques:
1) Performed 'SAVE AS... ' new file name to these files over several months and several times a day using similar filenames with only one number character different between them
2) Logging long data files to the root C: drive and closing in on less < 5GB HDD remaining (could this be overwriting soem temp files that LV uses to manag graphics???)
3) After saving to LV 7.1 and re-opening with LV 8.0, I get a message that is new to me that explained something about wiring a Boolean constant to a case structure and how LV 7.1 or previous used this to keep a sub-vi in memory (???). Unfortunately for me, I did not capture the exact syntax of this message and I do not wish to intentionally repeat this graphical feature.
4) I copied a small block of code that contained a 'cloned' sub-vi from one block diagram to the a similar VI that , shortly afterward, exhibited the front-panle 'tearing' feature. This is something that I usually do not do, and, again, is one of the only new actions from anything that I have done in LV for the past several years.
5) After the message described in (3), above, the rescued LV 7.1 version had moved a handful of the most recently added indicators to a very remote location, about 30 seconds of edge-scrolling time, to the left of my front panel graphics. I perfromed a 'drag' operation by selecting these and bumping them to the right edge of the screen for about 30 seconds to get them back to the vicinity of my front-panel graphics. I have never experienced a VI that shifted inidcators so far off the edge of the screen.
These are the only ' unique' events that I can recall before the 'tear; effect.
Thank you. -
Notifications panel doesn't open on ZTE Open version B2G 1.3.0.0-prerelease
My Notification panel isn't opening. I'm running the latest version of FFOS, I updated today. A previous version of a few days ago had the same problem. The original version I got with the phone, I think it was v1.1 didn't have this problem. So is there any way I can fix the problem00?
Thanks!@linuxholic: I flashed it by cloning and setting up the whole FFOS Repo. You have to then build the FFOS version you want. And then you have to flash it to your phone using ADB (Android Debug Bridge). I did all this on Ubuntu and advise you to do it on any Linux OS...
Read through this guide: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Developer_phone_guide/ZTE_OPEN
And then follow the instructions on cloning, setting up building and flashing FFOS here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Building_and_installing_Firefox_OS
Note: There's a small issue with ZTE Open that it doesn't correctly configure the bootloader on default builds. So it's mentioned on the page (first link) how to avoid this. You need to add a boot.img image to your build before flashing it. This is the page they link to: http://sl.edujose.org/2013/10/adapted-boot-image-for-use-with-b2g.html -
D30 not seeing KB during post from back panel
This is a really more of an annoyance than an issue but I've noticed the D30's we're setting up don't see the KB during post when it's connected to the back USB ports on the Mobo. Front panel reads it fine. It's not connected to the USB 3.0 ports either (indeed it's on USB1 whichhas the KB logo).
Unit will generate a KB error then attempt a PXE boot (which fails) at which point it will sense the correct drive and boot normally. KB/mouse work fine once it's booted. The cloned machine has the issue; the donor does not. Identical BIOS version / settings. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious; it's just perplexing since the front panel board works fine but the back panel doesn't - kinda counter intuitive. Sure I could enable a BIOS setting to ignore the keyboard but what fun would that be?What BIOS version are you using?
Are you using the (Lenovo) standard USB keyboard or something 3rd party?
Any chance it's a false failure on the the failing system? Are you able to get into BIOS setup using F1 on the keyboard even though the system is logging a KB error?
Can't say I've seen this on any of our systems. -
How to create a copy of customized panel?
Hi
On a Button click am creating a panel at runtime using
actionscript with some controls in there. Now i got requirement
like at the same time.. i need to create a copy of that panel and
need to add it as a child of another panel.
Can any one help me how to create a duplicate copy of Panel??
Thanks
PratapHi,
Thanks for reply...
The clone() method returns a cloned copy of the event object
by setting the type property and any new properties in the clone.
I need to create a clone of a control(Panel).
Any idea how to do that? -
Big problem with put the same received dataSource on two different panels
Hello All!
I have a big problem, but first what have I done:
I am writting application that is based on AVReceiver2 and AVTransmit2 from Sun help.
I have modified AVReceiver2 to only receive one stream - video stream.
I show received video on scrollPane, but I want to show the same video on second scrollPane in the same time. I have read about cloning dataSource, but I don't know how to modify that code to make it work.
This is my receiver class (logger is my own class that have listbox, so don't watch on it. This is not important):
public class Połączenie implements ReceiveStreamListener, SessionListener,
ControllerListener

}I wanted to show the same video stream on 2 panels at the same time. The panels are on 2 different Tabs of TabbedPane.
So I done some kind of switch:
- when user change tab, I change vievport from one panel to another. This works gr8, but I need to record some received video on the same time when user watch it.
I find some code to record - this works on single machine, but now, when I have cloned dataSource I supposed to be able to record received video, but guess what: it doesn't work.
Code of recording part:
DataSource ds2; // I cloned this the same as I posted earlier
PushBufferStream pbs;
Vector camImgSize = new Vector();
Vector camCapDevice = new Vector();
Vector camCapFormat = new Vector();
int camFPS;
int camImgSel;

public void record()
fetchDeviceFormats();
camImgSel=0; // first format, or otherwise as desired
camFPS = 30; // framerate
// Setup data source
fetchDeviceDataSource();
createPBDSource();
createProcessor(ds2); // i'm using cloned datasource
startCapture();
try{Thread.sleep(20000);}catch(Exception e){} // 20 seconds
stopCapture();
boolean fetchDeviceFormats()
Vector deviceList = CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(new VideoFormat(null));
CaptureDeviceInfo CapDevice = null;
Format CapFormat = null;
String type = "N/A";
CaptureDeviceInfo deviceInfo=null;boolean VideoFormatMatch=false;
for(int i=0;i<deviceList.size();i++)
// search for video device

if(deviceInfo.getName().indexOf("vfw:")<0)continue;
Format deviceFormat[] = deviceInfo.getFormats();

if(deviceFormat[f] instanceof RGBFormat)type="RGB";
if(deviceFormat[f] instanceof YUVFormat)type="YUV";
if(deviceFormat[f] instanceof JPEGFormat)type="JPG";

//System.out.println("Video device = " + deviceInfo.getName());
