Close range with v1.8?
Hi,
I'm currently porting my code from OpenNI to KinectSDK. I understand that there is no way of getting multiple Kinect for XBox 360 sensors to work with SDK v2, so I'm forced to use v1, since I'm working on multi-Kinect setups. Now I ran into a serious limitation
and I noticed quite some posts mentioned this already, but I'm not sure if the answers still apply to v1.8 since most of them are quite old.

I'm surprised that the same device gives me a range starting from 50cm with OpenNI 2, but only a range starting from 80cm with KinectSDK. I'm curious what a technical reason to this might be, since both of them even use the same driver! I'm not sure if I'm
doing something wrong here, but even the samples show the same results. Setting near mode with NUI_IMAGE_STREAM_FLAG_ENABLE_NEAR_MODE doesn't work, probably this applies to the Kinect for Windows devices.
So, is there a way of getting close range to work with v1.8? Seems like I can't use either v1 nor v2, I may have to stay with OpenNI after all... :\

You can get the x360 kinect v1 working with sdk 1.8 at a range of 40 cm, I have done it in a multiple Kinect v1 fusion app.
Do you mean the D3DVisualization.cpp file
in the WPF D3D Interop? I would try one of the simpler samples first, like the DepthbasicsWPF where you just need to change line 135 of the MainWindow.xaml.cs file from

'Near Range' is a mode that is available to kinect for windows v1 but the mode is not available for x360 Kinect v1. All the mode does is
make depth values from 40-100 cm cleaner and less noisy. It does this by changing the dynamic range or contrast of the IR image data so that the speckle pattern can be better resolved for close objects, as the individual points start bleeding into each other.
By default, the samples have a mindepthclip at 80 cm but you just have to change this value to be 40 cm in the main body code.

I was using a GEVEY sim unlock with iOS 4.1 since (almost) last 2 yrs now in India on Vodafone. But as Apple designed it, there were several apps including Whatsapp, Facebook, Gmail and LinkedIn that stopped functioning due to the iOS updates and the subsequent (I guess 'mandatory' App updates). Finally yesterday I thought of updating to the iOS 6. As soon as I did that, I have been left with no choice but to see the above message.
The process by jhidrowoh starts corectly but iTunes doesnt give you the option of restore only ... it is forcefully clubbed with update and the button that is displayed in the dialog box that appears on pressing 'Restore' in teh recovery mode, shows 'Restore and Update' and as soon as the iPhone is restored, it automatically updates the iOS as well to iOS 6 and hence leaves you hanging in the stale situation.
Guys ... Need the data desperately ... Can anybody please help??? -

I have had both models, and frankly notice little if any difference in range, likely because the broadcast power of wireless routers is set by law, and just about every router is running at 100%.
The dual band feature of the newer model will allow devices that are in close proximity to connect using the 5 GHz band, which runs 2-3 times faster than the 2.4 GHz band.
If you need greater range, you will likely do better by adding something like an AirPort Express to "extend" the wireless signal for greater reach.....rather than simply replacing one AirPort Extreme with another.
Another option....if you opt for the new AirPort Extreme....would be to use it as your "main" base station and use the older Extreme to "extend" the wireless signal. -
I just recently purchased the iPad wireless keyboard and I've followed all the steps, but everytime I type in the code to pair it, it says it cannot be paired. I've kept in close range, pushed the connect but it won't connect. What do I do?

disconnect your laptop from the existing wifi network
Connect to the default Apple Networkxxxxxxxxx - that is your AEX open network
Go to the Airport Utility and set the AEX router to extend the Existing Network >> in the AirPort Tab > Wireless Tab >> Wireless Mode - choose your Linksys network and enter credentials - your AEX should now join the Linksys network
Then switch back to your original wifi network and your AEX should show in the AirPort utility as well, extending the range of your Linksys network, green light on
PS: Win XP support for WP2 authentication downright *****. Even with SP3, get ready for some "cannot connect" warnings. My Dell laptop from work would have major issues connecting to my home's AirPort WPA2. I had to downgrade to WPA at some point. -
This happens when FireFox is not responding, and I want to close firefox with ctrl-alt-delete. Too many tabs can make Firefox crash. That is why I want to use ctrl-alt-delete to close FireFox. I tried finding a way to disable this, but I found no option to.
Ending the Firefox program or process with the Windows Task Manager "looks like" a crash. The proper way to exit Firefox is click Firefox button > Exit (or File > Exit, if using the Menu Bar).

Acrobat XI Pro automatically closes itself with no messages etc. after few seconds

I don't know why but my Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.0) automatically closes itself (with no warning, no messages etc.) after few seconds. I installed the AXI as a part of the CS6 Master Collection on my Windows 8 (x64) laptop. Just as suggested at some other posts in the forum:
I checked the "security settings (enhanced)" tab but the protected view option is already off.
I searched for the eula.exe under the "Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0" folder but there is no eula.exe. May it be not present because I installed it as a part of CS6 Master Coll. package?
I am using Eset Endpoint Antivirus as a third party Anti Virus Software.
The problem occurs when:
I open up a pdf file from outlook etc.
I manually open a pdf file from windows explorer
I open adobe acrobat with no file to view
As I mentioned above, I see no error messages or warnings during the closing down. It acts as if I clicked the close button on the top right corner. I know that there are a lot of posts in the forum about this issue, but none of them helped me to solve my problem. I would be glad if you can help me with this problem.
Thanks,Hey i was having this issue also with Adobe Acrobat pro... it only seemed to be affecting one program that produced PDF output automatically. When the processes finished the PDF is supposed to be displayed and instead it would rapidly flash across the screen and close. THen i would have to hunt for the PDF to review its content. I tried a couple of things like deleting my preferences for acrobat C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0. You might have to show hidden files. In the explorer window select Organize-> Folder and search options-> once that opens view -> check show hidden files, folders and drives. then navigate that path above. Make sure adobe is closed then delete everything in there or move it off to another folder if your worried it will break it further.
That did not fix the problem though. I opened the application and ran my process again same results (adobe closes pdf auttmagically). so i opened adobe acrobat and navigated to Edit -> Preferences -> look under the General tab and click the select default PDF handler and that seemed to fix my problem. I also disabled the enhanced security look further down in that list under security enhanced. then a reboot so it is possible that the enhance security setting was the cause i think i will play with that for a minute to see if it was but i think my issue was the default handling. good luck -

Is it possible to create a range with substituion varables for use in a report script. For example instead of listing "Jan" "Feb" "Mar" "Apr" in the report script can I use a sub varaible like Jan:Apr that will list them all out?
while I have not had luck with ranges in report scripts, others have. You could have a substitution variable the is "Jun" "Jul " "Aug" or whatever you want the members to be. and it will replace jusr fine

I updated our iPad a week ago to 8.1 (12B410) and since then most apps will not close down with the 4 fingers swiping in. The only way to close them down is to hit the middle bottom button twice then swipe upwards. Is anyone else having this problem and how do I fix it?
This has been happening to me as well with an iPad 3 running iOS 8.1. This is what I do and it works for me. Toggle the setting for Multitasking Gestures off and then on again, Settings>General>Multitasking Gestures>Off. Then toggle it on again.
I have to repeat the sequence from time to time as I have not found a permanent fix. I think that iOS 8 is by far the buggiest iOS release that I have used since I have owned an iOS device. -
Can I extend the range with an Airport Extreme?

Is it possible to extend a wireless network's range with an Airport Extreme (just like you can do with an Airport Express)? Currently I have a Billion wireless modem/router but need to extend the range so I can use my PS3 in my bedroom. I would rather get an Airport Extreme instead of an Express so I can take it with me when I move out. Just need to know if the Extreme will do this as it doesn't mention it on the website.

The AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and even the Time Capsule can "extend a wireless network", +but... they are only compatible if you have another Apple router as the main device.+
Sorry, but none of the Apple products would be compatible to extend the range of your Billion wireless router using wireless only. You might want to check to see if Billion has a "range extender" or similar compatible device. -

Close Window (with O/P) out of IFrame
Hi experts,
I did create a new component (with bsp_wd_cmpwb) and therein a window.
In this window I call an IFrame which is another BSP-Application.
Now I would like to close this window out of the iframe.
I did already create an O/P to close the window, but I don't know how to start the method in IFrame to do this.
Just at opening the window SET_VIEW_GROUP_CONTEXT and DO_FINISH_INPUT are run-through.
If I can force a run to this methods out of the IFrame it would be also ok for me, because therein I can fire the O/P.
The closing with the O/P works fine, but I need to trigger/force it.
First I tried to close it with the following jscript, but it doesn't work in firefox.
