CLR Types - Report Viewer

I'm trying to install SCOM and in order to do that I need to have SQL Report Viewer 2012 installed.
When I'm trying to install this, I am prompted to install SLQ CLR Types for SQL Server 2012.
i've downloaded and installed this and I get the exact same prompt everytime. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, using different versions and I am having the exact same problem. have installed both x86 and x64 versions as suggested by someone.
OS is windows 8.1 64bit
The versions I have installed at the moment are:

Hi Kenzii69,
According to your description, though you have performed uninstall and reinstall Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012, you are prompted to install Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 every time.
In this scenario, we can use process monitor to capture the process during the installation of Microsoft Report Viewer 2012 Runtime. Then check the result of this operation RegQueryValue with this path HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Redist\SQL
Server System CLR Types\CurrentVersion\Version. In our test environment, if we have installed Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012, the result of this operation RegQueryValue should be SUCCESS. And it will show version information in Description.
See screenshot below:
If we haven’t installed Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 or the CLR Types corrupts, the status of this operation RegQueryValue will display other information like NAME NOT FOUND. Please refer to screenshot below:
When installing Microsoft Report Viewer 2012 Runtime, the RegQpenKey: HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Redist\SQL Server System CLR Types\CurrentVersion\Version is always be checked. So I recommend you use Process Monitor to check out the
information in status of this RegQueryValue.
Besides, the issue might be caused by that the .NET Framework is corrupted or not installed properly. There is a related thread you can refer to:

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Problem installing REPORT VIEWER 2012 RUNTIME missing CLR Types

    Hello,
    I have a win.forms application part of functionality of which is to show rdlc report. When I try to launch the application it says that ReportViewer assembly is missing, which was expected. When I downloaded and try to install viewer runtime from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35747
    I receive that Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types are not installed and must be installed first. I downloaded appropriate installation from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29065 and it installed successfully. But when
    I try to run viewer runtime installation it still says that Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types are not installed.
    What do I miss?

    Hi Pvitaliy,
    Have you tried Sebastian's suggestion to install the proper version of dacframework.msi package and tsqllanguageservice.msi package? If it doesn't work, the issue might be caused by that the .NET Framework is corrupted or not installed properly. You
    can refer to the following blog to check the .NET Framework state by using the .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool:
    .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool User's Guide
    If possible, I suggest that you remove the .NET Framework and reinstall NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or .NET Framework 4.0.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi
    I am having problem on using Crystal Report Viewer on one of my windows application.
    I am not sure how to put the Crystal Report Viewer 11 Control onto the tool box.
    I could found a Crystal Report Viewer control on my computer, but it is version 8.5.
    I have also found another one which is Called Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, i don't think it is the one I can use. As when I try to load a dummy report on to the Crytal ActiveX Report Viewer, It return an error. "specified type is not valid"
    Please see the Code sample below.
    private sub loadReport()
         Dim r as New ReportDocument
         'v is the name of the Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control
         r.Load("C:\Report1.rtp")
         v.ReportSource(r) <---It throw error on this line.
    End Sub
    Could you give me some advice about what have I done wrong, How to check if I have set up the Crystal Report Component correctly in my Visual Studio 2005 Standard edition.
    Thanks in advances.
    Many thanks

    VS 2005 Standard and Express editions do not come with Crystal Reports; only the Professional and higher editions will have CR bundled. However, I believe you can purchase CR XI R2 Developer and it will give you the components you need to create a VS .NET 2005 application using the Standard edition.

  • How to change default Export Format Type in Crystal Report Viewer

    We are coding in VB.NET 2005 using the CR2008 SP1 .NET objects.
    The Crystal Report Viewer, when displayed, defaults the export type as .rpt (Crystal Reports).
    We distribute our .NET application to our customers.  99% of the time, this .rpt format is useless to our customers as they do not have crystal reports developer.  They usually export to a .pdf or .xls format.  Is there a way to default this export option to something other than .rpt?
    Thank you.

    Yes, that's as much as I figured.
    With the Crystal for .NET methods, the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine's reportdocument object has an ExportToDisk method.  We wanted to use this (as we used something similar with the RDC) to prompt the user to export.  However, the reportdocument's exporttodisk method does not have an argument that allows for Prompting the user (true/false) like the RDC's export did.  You have to actually know ahead of time the type of export the user wants as well as the filename.  Well, we do not, and therefore, want the user to be able to select the type of export they want as well as enter their own filename.  We want the Crystal methods to prompt for this.  Since we are unable to, we've had to resort to declaring a reportviewer object and setting the viewer's reportsource = to the reportdocument.  We then use the ExportReport() method which defaults to .rpt (which none of our end users have Crystal Developer).  This is why we want to know if there is a way to reset the default export method to something more common (such as .pdf or .xls).  Is there a way to change the reportdocument's file type in order to default the export type?  Just trying to come up with some sort of workaround...
    Thanks

  • Unable to install Report Viewer 2012

    As part of the SCOM console install I need to install Report Viewer 2012. To install Report Viewer 2012 I need to have Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012.
    I have installed all versions of CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 that I can find. But I still am not able to install Report Viewer 2012. It errors out when checking for CLR Types for SQL Server 2012.
    I have tried every variation of report viewer (2008,2010,20120) and CLR Types for SQL Server (32bit/64bit). I am just not able to install report viewer so I can install the SCOM console.

    Go to the link below
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35580
    and then select SQLSysClrTypes. You don't need all the files.
    Did this multiple times with the same result. After installing the ClrTypes the Report Viewer still indicates that it is failing that requirement.

  • Crystal Reports Viewer 11.5 fails in Vista

    We are using the Crystal Reports Viewer (crviewer.dll) version 11.5.10.1263. It works fine in XP but fails with the following error in Vista:
    A first chance exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException' occurred in sprdlgs2.dll
    An unhandled exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException' occurred in sprdlgs2.dll
    Additional information: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
    Sprdlgs2.dll is the DLL that contains the dialog in which the viewer resides. I know that crviewer.dll is registered correctly.
    Our product is a C++ MFC multi-document application migrated from Visual Studio 6.0 to the .NET Framework 2.0 with the managed code flag (/clr) on.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Peter,
    As Jason indicated the RDC has not been tested with Vista nor any version of .NET IDE. RDC is COM and Microsoft is moving away from COM and to their Framework which as you said you must also do as we must. Even though MS upgrades their OS's we can't follow for old technolgies, it just becomes too much coding and vertually becomes a new version of CR with the amount of work required. To move CR forward we try to release patches for the current versions that are 100% backward compatable with the current OS's. XI R2 with SP2 now supports Vista through a service patch.
    The RDC has not been updated since Version 9 at that time Windows XP and 2000 were the only OS's available and they fully supported COM. It simply becomes to costly to make everything backward compatable. For developers like yourself you can appriciate this, do you still support Windows 3.1? At some point everyone has to cut off backward compatablity.
    Moving forward because .NET 2008 is also new, even XI R2 has problems with it, this is due to MS updating their 1.1 Framework to 2.0 and 3.5. they changed things which we had specific dependencies on so now we have to also change, this all takes time to implement.
    So this becomes a "best effort support" case since you are doing this on an unsupported platform. I did not see any results of your testing in debug mode on Vista? Install .NET 2008 on a Vista 32 PC and run your app in debug mode, if you use Vista 64 set your compiler to use x86 only. I believe your dll's are wrappers around the crviewer.dll and is likely either a permission issue with our COM(ActiveX) dll's or your dll's. Using regedt32.exe will give you the ability also to change permissions on the viewer and possibly your dll. It may be that Windows is not allowing your exe to access your wrapper as the error suggests in your original post.
    Bottom line is, you should upgrade your app to use the .NET assemblies and stop using the RDC. There are lots of samples and fairly easy to migrate what your RDC app is doing to .NET code. Coding won't be one to one but the steps to execute a report and view are the same.
    Thanks again

  • WSUS 2012 Installing Report Viewer

    Hello,
    Setting up my first WSUS on a Server 2012 machine.  To view a computer status and it through an error stating that I needed to install Microsoft Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable.  I downloaded Report viewer then tried to install it and the install
    stated I needed .Net 2.0.  I know that .Net 3.5 includes 2.0 so I tried to install the feature through server manager.  Server manager couldn't find the files. I downloaded 3.5 and tried to install it specifying where the files were and Server Manager
    still could not find the installation.  I researched other fixes on line and found there is a Report Viewer 2012.  I downloaded it then tried to install it and it stated it needed Microsoft System CLR types for SQL server 2012.  I
    don't have nor do I need Microsoft SQL server and would like to avoid installing it if it is not necessary. So I looked into some other things people have done to fix this issue and came across a fix where I has to use Power Shell to run a command
    on the ISO image to enable the 3.5 feature. This didn't work either.  So what do I need to do to get this going?

    Hi,
    Pls make sure that the .net 3.5 has been installed thru the adding feature wizard,and then install the Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable.If possible,restart your server and try it again.
    After that, make sure Report Viewer 2008 Redistributable has been installed.

  • Report Viewer Configuration Error

    Hi,
    I manage a TFS 2010 Server that makes heavy use of Reporting Services, and I have a user that reported the following error
    when attempting to open a report in the Microsoft Visual Studio Report Viewer:
    Report Viewer Configuration Error
    The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file. Add <add verb="*" path="Resevred.ReportViewerWebControl.xsd" type = "Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, ReportingServicesWebServer,
    Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=################" /> to the system.web/httpHandlers section of the web.config file, or add <add name="ReportViewerWebControlHandler" preCondition="integratedMode" verb="*"
    path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type="Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, ReportingServicesWebServer, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=################" /> to the system.webServer/handlers section for
    Internet Information Services 7 or later.
    Has anyone seen this error before, or have any advice on finding a solution?
    Thank you.

    Hi HealthServices3300,
    You can try to install "Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 Redistributable Package" on your server to check if it works for you.
    For the web.config info, it's for web application. And I'd like to know how did you create the report, and whether the report is for a web app or reporting service. From the error message and report, seems it's not a TFS issue. If it's SSRS project
    issue, please post this issue to
    this forum. If it's a report viewer control issue, you can post this issue in
    this forum for a professional response. After that, please update this thread with the new thread link. Thanks for your understanding.

  • Crystal Report Viewer 2008, postback causes a weird QueryString for dates

    HI,
    I'm having a weird problem that was masked with the error "".
    What is happening to me is that i have an ASPX page where the QueryString passed in is used as parameters to the report (straightforward).  When the page first loads, this is all fine the QuerySTring is properly parsed and the report is properly displayed.  Now, the problem comes when i click on the PRINT Button it performs a postback, and during that postback the querystring is read so that it can rebuild the report on the postback.  (In previous versions of crystal, this has always worked).  The issue here is that the version 12 of the report viewer here now appears to also append some information to the query string that was not previously there (like this:  ServletTask=Print&cmd=get_pg&page=1)  So the problem here for me is this is what my original QueryString looks like:
    tokenid=b2817081-6b52-43c7-8e2c-d6209af2ed98&Type=Appointment&Val=12%3b1%3b1%3b06%2f10%2f2000
    THat query string is generated by the following code (pre-encoded)
    "PrintPage.aspx?tokenid=" & Guid.NewGuid.ToString & "&Type=Appointment&Val=" & "12" & ";" & "1" & ";" & "1" & ";" & "1/1/2000"  (NOTE the date here, i'll get to that in a second)
    Then, what the problem is on the postback the Query String looks like this:
    tokenid=2a4f42de-bd90-48b5-ac82-bd34b503afd3&Type=Appointment&Type=Appointment&Val=12%3b1%3b1%3b1%2f1%2fPrintPage.aspx%3ftokenid%3d2a4f42de-bd90-48b5-ac82-bd34b503afd3&Val=12%3b1%3b1%3b1%2f1%2f2000&ServletTask=Print&cmd=get_pg&page=1
    As you can see here it's all messed up.
    So, what i found here is that the underlying cause is that we are passing a "date" in the original QueryString and it seems on the postback the Crystal Reports Viewer is having some issue with that and basically messes up the query string...
    I have Crystal Reports 2008/SP3 installed.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Cleaning up these forums I came across this unanswered thread.
    Very weird behavior that I have seen maybe 3 or 4 years ago - I think it was with opendocument.aspx...
    In this case, we appear to be re-adding the querystring with the aspx name and question mark (u2026.parentagesu2026).  Having two question marks (%3f) is essentially a malformed URL since this indicates where the querystring starts.
    The duplicate querystring may have been a coding error(?) where it gets added again on a postback.
    Were you able to resolve the issue?

    In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced and ensure "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" is unchecked.
    Default is to have that option checked.
    It was considered a IE security issue that IE saves all content to temp disk location unencrypted, even those pages served by HTTPS (for example, let's say you use HTTPS to download your bank info, and it's stored to temp disk for someone else to retrieve later).  So more recent versions of IE implemented that option setting.
    How that option setting works is strange - it downloads the file, saves to disk, then deletes the copy from the disk immediately, before passing it to the application responsible for the MIME type.  So the application tries to open a directory path to a non-existing file.
    Issue is specific to IE, and it's not something you can control via the SDK.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Problem showing the crystal report viewer in form after added the component on it

    Greetings
    I have a problem running a program. I created a form which I added the component Crystal Report Viewer perfecty but during program execution when I call that form my VS 2012 Ultimate show the following error:
    Translated:
    Failed to create the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. Error: An exception occurred in the type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.Shared.SharedUtils'.
    Note: If I remove the component from the form. the applications runs fine when calling the form without the component CrystalReportViewer
    It is something related to my VS? o just that the actual version 13.0.9 is not yet compatible?

    Report.Show?
    How about you try:
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = <path to your report>
    Or:
    Dim crReportDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
    crReportDocument.Load(<path to your report>)
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
    Or, if the report is added to the project:
    crReportDocument = New test
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument

  • Crystal Reports Viewer 2008 and parameter fields

    Hello,
    I saw this product on the main Crystal Reports site this afternoon and decided to download it to try it out.  I have a number of users who would benefit from being able to preview their report results prior to actually running the report.  This seems like the perfect product.  I have a large number of Crystal Reports which were created in Crystal version XI.  I also downloaded the free 30 day version of Crystal Reports 2008 yesterday to see what new features are there.
    While testing Crystal Reports Viewer, I tried to run one of my reports which needs a parameter to run properly (account number).  This type of parameter is needed for probably 98% of this business' reports.
    The problem: Crystal Reports Viewer does not prompt me to input the parameter.  In my actual Crystal Report, I had the box "Save Data with Report' left unchecked, as the account number frequently changes.  However, if that box is left unchecked, Crystal Reports Viewer will give me the error message "No Saved Data.  This report file does not contain saved data and cannot be viewed.  To get data into the report, please open and re-save it in the Crystal Reports designer application with the "Save Data with Report" option selected."
    Thinking that possibly it was the version of Crystal Reports in which the report was created (XI), I downloaded the free trial of Crystal 2008 and created a very simple test report with one parameter for account number where the account number is retrieved from our database.  And I am having the same trouble.
    The "Help" section of Crystal Reports Viewer tells me that I can select my parameters in the parameter panel.  I do not see anything in my parameter panel other than the words "Current Data Set Last refreshed: 04/12/10 2:58 PM".  The help tells me that I can "select the parameter directly in this panel by entering a new value", but there is no option to do so.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks,
    Noel

    What I've learned is that I was originally using Crystal Viewer XI and upon opening it I received a message indicating there was an update.
    I ran the update which put me on Crystal Viewer 2008.
    Since then I have not been able to refresh my screen to bring up the parameters.
    See the attached forum for another post concerning this same issue.

    Assembly cache on the machine has
    12.0.2000.0 and 12.0.1100.00 as the vast majority ... a few (Design and Engine) have older 10.5.3700 and so forth (There are so many)
    I found this problem on the web with different solutions involving frame work folder or not having IIS setup to server the crystal reports viewer ... this is happening to me on my local development machine using the ASP.Net Develepoment server included with VS2008 ..
    Any help you could give me would greatly be appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,
    Take a look at below SAP Note.
    [1531003 - Error: bobj undefined - javascript error |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333533333331333033303333%7D.do]
    I got this result just by searching 'bobj is undefined javascript' in the top right search box.
    Thanks,
    Bhushan.
