Club Secretary - now treated as spammer

I am the Secretary of a sports club with about 55 members. I send out emails to my members. I also receive emails via the club website and an email redirect.
Since the start of the year, it seems I cannot receive redirects, or any notification that they have been sent. This means that I have missed several entries for a competition I was running, and, more critically, applications from several people to join my club. Not good PR, especially as I do not know the attempt to communicate with me has been made.
I also find that, perhaps unrelatedly, perhaps not, any email I send to more than one recipient vanishes into the ether, again with no notification that it is being treated any differently. Not only do my club members think I am coming over all strong and silent (and so have even more reason not to volunteer for anything), but no one received the results of my competition. Again, not good PR. I now know the limit has been reduced, and I can cope with it - but stopping multiple addressess altogether!!
On investigation, I also find that my IP address has been flagged on some of the relevant international databases (eg Spamhaus) as being blocked as a spammer - at the behest of BT.
Can anyone advise me how to restore my good name by getting my address taken off the barred lists? And what is the best way round the redirect issue? And how do I restore my ability to address more than one person at once?
[BTW - last week I did have a rash of being forced to change my password by genuine BT intervention. But, of course, they do not inform you what the "suspicious activity" is, nor is there any way to communicate with them to explain what might have caused it]

Change default app for .dvdmedia files (Finder now treats them as folders)

I need to change .dvdmedia files to open up with an app and not to show up in Finder as a folder as it currently does. How do I do that?
There isn't anymore the usual drop-down menu for Open with... in Get Info dialog window since Finder now treats .dvdmedia files as folders. This happened when I was trying to change the default app for them to something else but the "Open with" section kept showing Finder and when I actually selected the Finder once it started to treat these files as folders. Now I don't know how to get back.

I'm still missing icons for three of my .dvdmedia files and I can only have DVD Player app be the default app but at least I got the files back to files instead of folders.

After a new Itunes update, itunes now treats me like a new customer, all of my podcasts playlists have gone??

After a new Itunes update Itunes no longer has my playlists, music or podcasts, It thinks i am a new customer. Also internet explorer will not work and goes to "front page" ? What has happened, have I got a bug?

I;m having so itunes match issues.
I ran itunes match. I';ve since foumd, I think:
a) if incorrect genre etc data has been uploaded to icloud, I cannot find how to delete it and reupload correct song and data. I am presently assuming that once songs are matched, the meta-data, genre, etc etc thats uploaded is now treated as 'the master' by itunes.
Question: if I want to change the genre on a track, whats the correct way to overwrite the data held in the icloud? if I delete the track i just bring down the old incorrect genres again!
b) I've deleted from the icloud all my music tracks (select all, delete, Y to delete tracks from icloud). I have turned off itunes match on my ipad, iphone, appletv mac and windows pc. I've deleted the itunes library files too from mac and pc in desperation. But hours /days later, when I turn on itunes match on mac or pc, it tells me i still have 9k tracks in icloud. All with the old, wrong meta-data ready to mess up my [now-corrected] files back on my pc!
I cannot delete them no matter what I do. The number of tracks in the cloud was 12k, now 9k so its reducing, by about 1500 tracks a day.
does it really take itunes servers that long to delete the tracks I've asked it to delete, or am i seeing garbage data?
is there a quicker way of deleting all my itunes match library, songs and data?

My original intention was to 'upgrade' some of my tracks. In those cases, I'd iTunes matched, and the process was completed.
I later downloaded those new tracks but found during that process, the tracks I was downloading had the old metadata.
I guess the idea there is to update the local genres, 'update iTunes match' and wait. How long, I don't know but that's the current solution,yes ?
Thing is I was trying to get my local library updated and, as I thought it, back in order, but was finding my local genre updates were being overwritten. I had a lot of tracks that kept on stating they could be downloaded so I thought the new files hadn't been copied down...
I think I was trying to get match to do too many things at once.
Deleting my tracks in the cloud? Was an act of desperation to start over with all known good genres locally and to re- upload, start over. I'd read in some forum or other to do that, I guess that was wrong,

Apple treats old versions of my Apple ID as if they are separate accounts?

I am transferring my data from one iPhone to another via iCloud. Overall, the transfer is going fine.
However:
A long time back when the iTunes store first launched, I created an Apple ID to purchase music. At the time, this was just a user name. However, my usual username was taken, so I created usualname1.
I found I had a hard time remembering to use this variation, so some years later, I changed the user name to drusualname, which was easier for me to remember as I'd just gotten my PhD and was starting to use this variant elsewhere.
Then a few years ago, Apple forced all Apple IDs to be changed to an email address. So I changed the account name a third time, to [email protected]. So far, so good.
(What's critical to understand is that these are not "separate accounts," which I know can't be merged, but the same account with changes to the user name.)
As I'm transferring data to my new phone today, I am being asked to enter passwords for usualname1 and drusualname. Should be no problem, as I've had the same password the entire time, right? Except that the iTunes store or iCloud or whatever is rejecting the passwords as incorrect.
So I go to http://appleid.apple.com/, and try to retrieve the password for both user names. The first thing I try is "use security questions," but I get hung up in the same spot on both - it won't accept my birth date. Now, I know my birth date hasn't changed.
So I request a password reset for each via email. Except that it's been 10 minutes and I still haven't received either reset mail. I've been using [email protected] for longer than I've had an Apple ID, and have never changed the email address on my Apple ID account.
To recap: I have only ever had one Apple ID account, but the user name has changed twice. Apple is now treating each user name as if it were a separate account, and refusing to recognize the password, my birthdate, or the email address which has been the same the entire time I've had an ID.
Help?

In Settings>Messages>Send & Receive on each phone, make sure the numbers and email addresses are seperate and you don't have the same address or number selected on both devices.

Broadband issues, Been going on for months now...

Basically i joined BT back in January 2010, First month i had a few dropping connections put that down to basic things such as the line stablizing, February it didnt get any better so rang BT regarding it, They sent an Engineer, After fault finding he had no clue as to the fault so i monitored it myself over the next few days and worked out an emerging pattern, My Flat is situated not 30ft from the West Coast Mainline with the high speed Electric trains going past, Everytime a Train passes the interference thrown off from the line was enough to knock out the connection to the Server. Called BT again in March they sent an engineer who capped my line at 3.4mb/s 60% of what the maximum speed was to give me some stability that fixed the issue for a time until the next month when the server reset the speed back to the original value (something to do with it testing what the max possible speed was) Trouble was the test was done under conditions where the trains were not passing at that moment, Yet more dropping connection issues, they sent a 3rd Engineer out, he fitted a ADSL Faceplate to my Socket and said he figured it was the electrical interference messing with the microfilter, he turned down the INR Values back to 60% after i told him what the previous Engineer had done, it was fixed for another month...
April there was a 4th Engineer whom fitted a Small filter box above the socket, turned down the INR again it worked,
May the issues came back at the beginning of the month, I rang on the phone and stated what the issue was, what the solution was and what they needed to do to fix it... Reduce the INR, "We can't do that we need to send an engineer" So they sent an Engineer AFTER reducing the INR Server side, so the engineers call out was pointless.(5 Engineers so far)
June, July, August; All the same arguements with the Tech support with the issue the same questions asking if im wired if im wireless... All the time the answers remaining the same and the fix to the fault which was reducing the INR
September; Sent out the 6th Engineer... He came around i said mate you're wasting your time i can tell you what you need to to do fix it. he said he was here to double check everything was as it should be, he phoned one of his mates who was a rain engineer they said the fault would be down the the frequency. So i called BT told them about his recommendations, to send a Rain engineer to assess the situation, Remove me from the 21CN Network back to a 20CN Network and that should fix all of the issues.. But it didnt.
October, Someone cancelled the order for the 20CN Network, order had to be redone, was given a supervisor who monitored the case, called me every 2 days to notify me of progress, said he was awaiting a reply from BT Wholesale...
November, same issues with the internet rang to find out the status of the 20CN network, Still waiting for the reply.
December, Issues returned with a vengence, 20 disconnections in the space of time of 2 hours, worst it had ever been totally unplayable, rang BT they capped my line to 3mb/s Was still laggy.
29/12; 4 more disconnections in the space of an hour, Rang 150 to the Tech support desk, the woman i spoke to said she was running line tests and everything seemed ok, i explained the problem and how frustrated i was with it, requested to be placed through to cancel my BT line, her supervisor requested to speak to me to double check her work everything seemed fine, he transfered me, i got a customer rep who said i would have to pay for the rest of the contract because i wanted to get out early, i said why should i have to pay when im not getting the service i should without having to constantly call up and tell people how to fix it. he said Tech support hadn't authorised a free disconnection, requested to go back to Tech support to ask why, he said he was passing me through, 10 minutes of listening to music before the line went dead...
Called back through to the tech support, got another guy who went through all the basic connectivity checked the line, checked the setup, how i had my wiring, if i was Ethernet, asked me if it was ok to call my mobile while he ran a line test, as he was running the first line test he couldnt see anything, then a train passed and he HEARD the magnetic interference on my mobile!! the crackling of the signal, he then said well its enough to put out your mobile connection so im going to speak to my supervisor, I then had them both speaking to customer services regarding the issues to find out there was no chance of me ever getting a 20 CN Network because the technology is no longer in my Exchange
So my question is this... IF they cannot fix the issue by moving me over to a 20CN network, and im unable to access the fibre optic broadband due to the area, and im stuck on a connection that disconnects me everytime a train passes... What can i do as a solution, That isnt my fault its an external problem and i don't see why i should have to pay for an appauling service which i barely get.. disconnections every 30 minutes or so. 15 minutes at peak times... Should I have to peddle the responsability of paying the contract fee to get out of contract with bt because i live next to a train line? i dont think so... they cant offer me an Alternative service which would work so they can't fix the issue... which makes it THEIR Fault. not mine.

Sounds you have done all and more, you are right the tech team do have to refer you to cancellations, indeed to disconnected every 15 mins peak time and 30 mins standard is totally unacceptable situation to be in.
From personal experience I would suggest you phone back the tech team with your information you have, read your saga out and refuse all the normal suggestions like resetting and engineers appointments, as you have done this many times, state your cost of service and the "material loss" to you and lack of confidence in their product, they will want to try and fix the issue (LOL) they gave me 24 hrs and kept their promise of releasing me free with MAc code.I would also complain to BT by email they will contact you back, also mail Bt CEO for good measure and begin the OFCOM route.
You do really have to play hard ball with them always be polite with them, you have been more than willing in aiding them to fix your connection and they are really now treating you as a number rather than valued customer.

Am in a state of panic over a roblox builders club issue

Hi, I purchased builders club on roblox for my son using his ipod. He has now very foolishly given his roblox account details to someone online who promised him 12 months free turbo builders club and although I told him not to do it, he went ahead and did it anyway. To say I am annoyed is an understatement. He now cant get back into his account - no surprises there. My main concern is that the person he gave it to has changed his log in details but kept his username. Although I purchased six months builders club which now we have lost, Im really worried this person might be able to add it again and again from my bank details. Im in an absolute state over this. We live in the UK and I have even tried ringing roblox themselves but cant get an answer. Im frantic. Can anyone please set my mind at rest over this.

We have set up the following method for displaying reports via our website:
User is sent to a report-specific page. The user is given some filtering options specific to the report that will be viewed. When the user has specified the data filters, the user clicks a button.
The page wraps up the report parameters -- selection query, formula values, report location, the name to be displayed, etc. -- into a class which gets put into the Session object.
The page redirects to DisplayReport.aspx. ALL reports redirect to this page.
DisplayReport.aspx retrieves the report parameters from Session. A ReportDocument object is created and loaded, then set with the data from the parameters class.
A ConnectionInfo object is created and set with the relevant log on credentials. All of the reports draw from the same database, so the connection information is hard-coded as the same for all reports. The page then iterates through all of the tables in the Database.Tables collection of the ReportDocument and calls ApplyLogOnInfo to each table using the ConnectionInfo object.
The page is rendered and the user gets the filtered report.
We currently have seven reports. Five reports work fine and display the correctly filtered data with no error messages. Two reports generate a Failed to open the connection error and do not display. I have verified that the queries being sent to DisplayReport.aspx are valid, and as I said the connection information itself is hard-coded in the one page that displays the reports and this is identical to all reports.
The five reports that do work all have a single data table, either an actual database table or a single view. The two reports that do not work all have multiple tables. As far as I can tell, this is the only difference between the sets; all seven reports are based on the same DSN and I have verified the database on all of the reports. All of the reports were written using Crystal Reports 8, and all of the reports display fine in a Windows app I wrote some years ago using Crystal Reports 8. Again, the only difference between those reports that do work and those that do not is the number of tables used in the report: one table or view in the reports that display, more than one table (tables only, none use views) in the reports that do not display.
As for the code I am using, below are the relevant methods. The function MakeConnectionInfo simply parses out the components of a standard SQL connection string into a ConnectionInfo object. Lack of NOKIA (care support)

I would advise all persons buying Lumina products, that the ability to get aftercare support is appaling. The system for aftercare is impenetrable and results in a seemingly endless loop of references to the website but no support at all. and no credible e-mail communications
I bought a Nokia 1520 in Jakarta and have been trying for 3 months to get service under the warranty (the telephone out handset audio has failed) , but can neither communicate by writing or phone with the service centers as they are all either closed or uninterested,
I tried to follow through with the UK affiliate but they said not our problem, must deal with it in Indoneia, and here we go again ring a ring of roses
I have been so loyal to the Nokia brand and am now treated like a pleb, no way to run a business or retain premium customers like myself, i really want a windows phone that works and where the brand owner gives a toss, any ideas anyone ???

BI Authorization Issue

Hi Gurus,
          We are having problem with analysis authorizations for a particular query. The report is for the vendor balance, it has balance, cumulative balance as key figures and vendor as characteristics. We wanted to restrict the report by account group level. we have 4 account groups. The account group is a navigational attribute of creditor account group. account group [char] is auth relevant but the creditor account group [char] is not. so we gave respective auth group for accnt grp [char] but the query fails. The analysis log is follows, any help will be appreciated

As per SAP Note 642072 (Authorization check on : for char./navigation attribute):
In new BI 7.x releases, the authorization logic has been enhanced and navigation attributes have the same status as 'normal' characteristics. An overlay of characteristic A and navigation attribute B__A no longer occurs. They are now treated as completely seperate objects.
As you said, account group (0ACCNT_GRPV) is a navigational attribute of creditor account group (say 0CREDITOR), so the characteristics here becomes 0CREDITOR__0ACCNT_GRPV. So you have to mark 0CREDITOR__0ACCNT_GRPV as auth relevant by tcode RSD1> go to 0CREDITOR> in attribute tab check 0ACCNT_GRPV as auth relevant and activate it.
As per the trace you posted, it seems currently its just checking for 0ACCNT_GRPV and not 0CREDITOR__0ACCNT_GRPV which is treated as separate entity in BI7.x versions.
Also, for restriction on navigational attributes, you need to create an authorization variable on your navigational attribute (i.e 0CREDITOR__0ACCNT_GRPV ) and make it input ready in your query. This will pull the user's authorized values and input them into the query. Also, maintain the desired authorized values for your navigation attribute (0CREDITOR__0ACCNT_GRPV) in the Analysis authorization assigned to the user. Leaving it blank or no values entered will make the query check for "*".
P.S (edited): Most importantly, the query should have a check on auth relevant characteristics (in your case 0CREDITOR__0ACCNT_GRPV) otherwise it is not possible to restrict the characteristics to specific values and BI will by default check for "*" and atleast ":" has to be added to the analysis authorization for successful execution of query but that does not serve the purpose as ":" shows aggregated data for all account groups. Please see note # 1140831

How do i rotate a video without clipping off parts of it?

Can someone tell me how to do this? I know how to rotate from the help forums:

In the Effects view, click the Edit Effects button.
Expand the Motion effect in the Properties view, and do one of the following:Drag the underlined value to the right of Rotation.
Click Rotate Left or Rotate Right to rotate the clip 90° in either direction.
But when i do this, it chops off the top and bottom portions of my video. I instructed it to leave video aspect ratio, but it wont do so. It still chops off the top and bottom.

Actually, it did keep the Aspect Ratio, as it is defined, but instead of a horizontal Aspect Ratio of say 4:3, you now have a vertical Aspect Ratio of 4:3. If it kept the horizontal, your image would be squashed in one dimension and then stretched in the other - not what you would likely want.
What you need to do is now treat your vertical image. In most cases, I find it preferable to use the fixed Effect>Motion>Scale, and then effectively crop off parts of the top, or the bottom, or both. This has the disadvantage of having to Scale the image up, and it will begin to degrade in quality, so keep a close eye out for that.
Depending on a few factors, one can use certain artistic treatments to use the vertical image in your horizontal Frame: one could use it as a PiP (Picture in Picture), one could create a background, and just use Motion>Scale to drop the vertical dimension to match the vertical dimension of the Frame, letting the background show on probably both sides. Some videographers will shoot two shots with the camera 90 degrees out of orientation, i.e. on its side, when they want a "split-screen," i.e. PiP with two, side-by-side images, and just Rotate both Clips, and align them in the horizontal frame.
Now, what was your purpose for shooting with the camera on its side? What effect were you trying to obtain?
If this was a mounting issue, such as the camera had to be mounted on its side to get it where it was needed, then the trick is to frame less tightly, knowing that you will be effectively cropping off some of the image, when you Rotate.

How do I rotate my video without the video going "blank?"

I have Mac OSX 10.7.4
Quicktime is version 10.1
I am using a .mov file I filmed using my iphone. I filmed it sideways to be widescreen, but when I open it on my mac in quicktime, it appears longways instead of sideways. I go to edit- rotate left, and it rotates, but no video plays. The video is black, but the audio still works.
Any advice on how to rotate it and keep my video?

USB travel keyboard vs non-IBM PC

For some time I've been using a USB keyboard with ultranav - the kind with the keypad, which has been discontinued - on my non-IBM PC running XP. That keyboard worked fine, and I could modify all the attributes of the trackpoint and pad. For me, it's especially important to be able to reduce the force necessary to use the trackpoint or I'll hurt my hands. Over time, though, it reached the end of its lifespan.
I bought a USB travel keyboard with ultranav. Essentially the same thing, but without the keypad. I've tried a variety of driver installs, including generic Synaptics drivers, and I can't modify the trackpoint's beavior. Both the pad and the trackpoint work, controlling the mouse, but there is no way to reduce the force necessary. At one point, I got the message that the trackpoint was disabled and I needed to re-enable it in the BIOS... but this isn't an IBM machine. It has an ASUS motherboard, and the bios has nothing relevant as far as I can tell.
A potential clue:
Watching the device manager, I've plugged in my old keyboard and the new travel keyboard. The old keyboard is recognized as a "HID Keyboard Device", "Synaptics Composite USB TouchPad", and "Synaptics Composite USB TouchStyk". The _new_ keyboard is recognized as a "HID Keyboard Device" and "HID-compliant mouse." I would have expected two mice, actually, one for the trackpoint and one for the touchpad.
I have tried various installs and drivers, including drivers from Lenovo and generic ones from Synaptics, without luck. It's still an HID-compliant mouse which won't let me change the amount of force necessary.
Any ideas?

My beloved IBM T42, circa 2005, has been retired from work duties and soldiers on in limited duty at home. I have recently attempted to re-create the well-designed keyboard, particularly the Synaptics touchpad and the TrackPoint, for my office PC, which is a clone (but with 'name-brand' internals, an Intel motherboard and processor, Kingston RAM, OCZ SSD) running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional, SP1.
So, for the princely sum of $35 I purchased a new keyboard, an IBM Part No. 89P8500 and IBM Model No. SK-8840. It's labeled IBM, not Lenovo. The keyboard's cord ends in two PS/2 plugs, one for the keyboard and one for the mouse, the latter I believe refers to the integrated Synaptics touchpad, and the integrated Trackpoint. My office PC has no PS/2 inputs, so I purchased a Ziotek PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse to USB Adapter (ZT1040444) to make the connection between the keyboard and the PC.
The keyboard does achieve basic functionality by simply plugging it into the PC through the Ziotek adapter. But the Synaptics touchpad and the TrackPoint are capable of considerably more functionality. I know this because on my T42 the touchpad and TrackPoint were controlled by UltraNav software, which created a tab in the Mouse Properties in Control Panel. There, many adjustments and customizations were possible.
But having spent more hours than I will admit to (yes, it's in double digits), I am still unable to achieve UltraNav levels of functionality. Worse, and even though the keyboard functions, if I open Control Panel, Mouse Properties an error message appears saying:
"Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver.
If you have installed another PS/2 Pointing Device Driver please uninstall the Synaptics driver by clicking on the Yes button. You then need to reinstall your pointing device driver for your external device again.
Do you want to uninstall the Synaptics driver now?"
I select "No" and the Mouse Properties dialogue box opens, sans any indication of UltraNav or any functionality beyond the basic functions provided in Windows.
It finally dawned on me that the UltraNav software is IBM's proprietary version of Synaptics' generic touchpad / trackpoint driver. And it just doesn't want to and/or isn't going to work on my clone PC. I have literally tried dozens of USB and PS/2 drivers from Lenovo's website. The generic Synaptics driver from Synaptics' website imparts none of the UltraNav functionality, as best as I can tell.
My guess is that IBM probably didn't plan on selling enough of the now-priced-at-$35 keyboard (89P8500 / SK-8840) to merit going to the trouble and expense of preparing an UltraNav driver for non-IBM computers to run the thing. But, is there a version of UltraNav that will run on non-IBM/Lenovo PCs? I haven't found it.
The keyboard uses PS/2 and the Ziotek adapter, at least in theory, maps the PS/2 interface over to work with the USB interface. But is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit treating the Ziotek adapter-connected keyboard as a PS/2 device (which it is), or does the Ziotek adapter cause windows to treat the keyboard as a USB device? Thus, is the adapter's mapping over process so complete that the PS/2 device is now treated as a USB device? I have inquired with Ziotek and I am awaiting a response, which may never come.
I posted here in desperation. Please help, if you are able.

IBM sourced their keyboards from another company for a long time, and that company not only still exists, but still sells the keyboard you're using (though for much more). Company is Unicomp. Website is pckeyboard.com. They probably support the keyvboard.
That said, the generic synaptics reference driver should work for the trackpad. Can't say the same for the trackpoint.
