Cluster the two servers

          Hi,
          I'm a beginner of the weblogic server ( in Solaris ).I've a problem
          while clustting the two servers. When I using a administration
          page ( in WebLogicSvr01 ) to do the clustting ,I've found that
          the other server ( WebLogicSvr02) does not included in the server
          list. How should I add the second server (WebLogicSvr02) in the
          first one (WebLogicSvr01)?

How to Break the cluster between Two servers

Hi Experts,
Since Iu2019m new to BOBJ XI R2.I would like to know how to break the cluster between two servers.
Description :
So far we took the copy of QAS Server1 to the new QAS server2 (Through Mirroring Tool ). Now those two servers are cluster together, I can see QAS server1 CMS Name, Cluster Name, cluster member name in QAS Server2 (CMC-> Setting -> Cluster).
Besides in QAS Server1 CMS Name and Cluster name are pointing to the QAS Server1, except Cluster Member (This is still have two members Server1 and Server2).(CMC-> Setting -> Cluster).
In QAS Server1 and QAS Server2 (CMS-> Servers), I can able see both server name under Machine Name tab.
I would like to make those two servers as independent servers. There are two different data source for those two servers. I want to remove the cluster in both servers.
Right now QAS Server1 is running and QAS Server2 is stopped.
If i create/modify a group under new Mapped NT Member Groups in QAS server2 ,it is getting reflecting in QAS server 1.
Could you please tell me the steps to resolve this problem.

Hi,
Maybe the external CMS is still 'attached' to your SIA node. Please go to the CCM (Central Configuration Manager) and stop the SIA (Server Intelligent Agent). On one of the tabs you can see if there is an external CMS part of your environment. Delete it and restart the SIA. Retry if you can delete the services now from within your CMS. It may well be that you have to stop both environments and delete each others CMS via the CCM to get it working. If you have not changed any permissions for your Administrator account the security model will not be the one causing this.

Two servers (serverSocket) behind the SAME firewal !?l

I dont know if this is the right forum for this qusetion,
and maybe the question is really stupid, but ...
I made a little client/server application, just to
play around with sockets and serverSockets.
It works fine, but now i ask myself:
What happens, if there are two of my servers running on two
different computers in the SAME LAN behind the SAME
firewall/internetgateway, and both are listening on the SAME
port ?
F.e. if the extern IP of this LAN/(its gateway) is
204.556.234.123, and a client in the internet is connecting
to it on the port, on which the two servers behind the firewall
are listening, WHO'S ANSWERING ?
(If this port is set to "open and forward" in the firewall)
The one with the shorter patch-cable ? ;)
How is it possible for the client to differenciate
this two servers in that LAN?
The only logical solution i found is that this two servers
have to listen on different ports,
but i think there has to be another explanation and/or solution.
Do i have to take care about situations like that in my
server-application ?
I have the feeling that i have to...somehow.

The two computers running your server have unique addresses on the internal network. The firewall will forward incoming connections to one of those addresses. Maybe it can do some simple "load balancing" by forwarding some connections to one server and some to the other, but still, any particular connection will only go to one server.

Can a BO XI R2 Cluster Span Two Subnets?

We were able to setup a BO XI R2 two server cluster using two servers on the same subnet.
Server A at IP address -.-.---.45
Server B at IP address -.-.---.46
Schedule reports and ad hoc queries through the web servers (on both machines) operated without issue. [The two servers share a Sybase database and a NetApp file system.]
We then attempted to setup a BO XI R2 two server cluster, but with the two servers in different data centers and on different subnets. [Everything else is the same ... shared Sybase database, shared NetApp file system.] The two servers are able to ping each other without any trouble. Unfortunately, the reports we schedule only seem to run on the server where they were introduced. [Reports introduced on Server A only run on Server A - even if Server B goes down. And, vise versa.]
We are wondering if there is some communications between the two servers that requires the servers to be on the same subnet.

We have had customers and employees successfully configure clustered CMS's across subnets, we have also had plenty of issues (especially if the subnets are geographically seperated by WAN links).
You may want to open a case with support as some extensive tracing and analysis may be required. If no filtering is occurring and the link has enough bandwidth then it should work. CMS communication to the CMS DB is rather extensive so weithout enough bandwidth I'd expect all kinds of issues. I'm not sure how much would be enough but to be safe I'd say at least the same pipe of the server NIC(s)

          I use the admin console to deploy the war file and the war file conatains

          How to config the one of the clustered servers as the primary one, so that
          the client can request the jsp?
          If the one of the clustered servers is closed, can the client be redirected
          to another clustered server?
          Does the proxy server need to be exist?

Flex IO error# 2032 when using IE7 for parallel https calls across two servers

Hi,
Weeks back I faced a wierd issue in the behaviour of flashplayer running on IE7 which is invoking parallel https calls. I have two SSL enabled servers one is listening on port 443 and the other is listening on port 8443 but both running in the same domain. I developed a flex client (using httpservice class) which sends parallel https requests to these two servers. When the number of parallel requests increases say more than 5 requests to each server, the fault handler was encountered with the error message:

I used some http tracer tools to check if the request jumps out of the browser but that didnt happen. I am 100% sure that I am using the correct url. I was totally helpless . This worked without any issues in IE8 or Chrome or Firefox. This made me think about increasing the number of concurrent connections for IE7 by modifying the windows registry. But still no difference in the behaviour.
After breaking my head for a long days, I got one solution which would work. This issue is happening only if we are sending https requests to different ports in the same domain. So rather than moving one among the two servers to a new domain, I got a new DNS name for the same destination. So presently I got two DNS names pointing to the same machine in which both the servers are mounted.
After this it really worked cool!!! Now that I am using a separate DNS name for the server listening on port 8443 and the old DNS name is used to hit the server listening on 443. And I am happy that its working fine without any issues .
But can anyone tell me if this is really an IE7 issue or do we have anyother solution to fix this.

Replication overwrites the AAA servers table in the secondary server

Hi,
I've configured two ACS servers with replication but i noticed that when the replication takes place it overwrites the AAA servers table configured in the network configuration of the secondary server and that makes the next replication to fail because the two servers have the same configuration of AAA servers, if i uncheck the "Network Configuration Device tables" and the "Network Access Profiles" from the "Database Replication Setup" wich includes the AAA servers table I also missed the replication of the new network devices that are added in the master server.
Do you know how can i exclude only the AAA servers table from the replication??
Other thing is that I configured the Outbound replication as "Automatically triggered cascade", I'm not sure if this means that at the exactly moment that there is a change on the primary server it will replicate it to the secondary???? because if that is the case it is not doing it.

I now have another situation and i was wondering if you can help me, i made some changes in the AAA servers trying to solve this situation but i wasn't able to, so i leave again the servers in the same way that they were configured by the time the replication was working but now it is not, in the master server i get this message:
ERROR ACS 'LACSLVBCDVAS007' has denied replication request
and in the second server i get this:
ERROR Inbound database replication from ACS 'lacslvbcpvas011' denied - shared secret mismatch
I've checked the same key configured for both and are the same, i've deleted the AAA servers and the configure them again, restart the services but the problem remains, dou you have any idea what this could be??

Query performance difference with same script in two servers

Dear all,
I have problem with an INSERT Procedure. I have 2 servers, say Server A and Server B, In Server A the query execution will be finished in 4 minutes where in the Server B the same Query its taking more than 2 hours.
If I look into the execution plan in both servers, it looks different.
Both have the Default Parallelism settings.
Cost Threshold for Parallelism : 5
Locks : 0
Max Degree of Parallelism : 0
Query Wait : -1
What causing to slow down the process? Is the parallelism slowing down the process?
When I look into the SERVER A's active running processes in management studio, I found that there are 8 INSERT Queries running with only 2 RUNNABLE and 6 SUSPENDED. Anything is getting locked out or Waiting?
Please help and suggest my a solution for it. Thanks in advance.

The Server you are having an issue with, are the any triggers on the Tables?

Is there a background or other trace running on the slow Server that could be impacting performance?
Yes, we are running a monitoring tool to check the performance of the load.
Is there another database on the slow Server causing issues?
No.
This could be a hardware issue; have you use perfmon to see if there are any disk queues?
We will check with our DBA on this.
What is the Raid Configuration? Are the files on a single spindle? If so what is the fragmentation state of any single spindle volume?
There is no Rain Configuration. Its a Windows Azure A7.
Are you automatically updating statistics on the slow Database?
Yes.
Is the Anti Virus Software on the Slow server scanning the data files?
Yes, but not on the database level.

Different xml format in two servers?

Hello Experts-
I encountered a little orblem with xml .
I have a report in prod server (Version 10.1.3.4.0 )
and I have same report in Dev server(Version 10.1.3.3.2 )
I managed connections in Dev server such that the report query hits the Prod database (as dev data is inconsistant)
SO, Both the reports pulls up the information from same database. But still, both servers are producing different xml pattern
My data template consists of Graphs and charts.
I was able to view the out put when I run the report in Prod server.
But, When I run the report in Dev server, I viewed charts with wierd pattern.
I checked xml for prod and dev, and noticed a difference. Please notice type element

I am unable to resolve this Problem. Can anyone help me in this issue.

I'm gonna have a setup of TWO CSS11503 Content Switches with standard WEBNS feature set
in an ACTIVE / ACTIVE VIP and Virtual interface redundancy scenario for load-balancing just
two web servers initially.
Can I hv this setup up & running if I configure the two servers with different default
gateway addresses on the private side and two static routes in the private side Layer3
for two different VIP addresses in the public side ??

Firstly - what Gilles said.
Having said that, I'm using some content switches in active/active modes in a couple of places in a geographically distributed gateway. Active/Active lets us improve our redundancy characteristics and allow for device failures as well as link failures between the gateways.
There are lots of complexities that arise if you take this path - you will need to do a lot of logical math and testing about traffic symmetry under all of the different failure conditions, because you introduce the possibility that response traffic could come back at L2/L3 through a different CSS than the request traffic.

One Report, Two Servers, Debugging

I have a report that uses multi-select parameters.
It is deployed on two SSRS 2008 R2 Report Servers.
It will run on one but not other.
Are there any kinds of SSRS 2008 R2 debugging tools to find out what is the difference between the two servers?
It may be an ODBC driver but I am not sure.

First we need to identify what is generating the error on the one server. This error occurs when you pass too much for a given data type. For instance, on one server an int parameter value that is generated from a SQL query might result in a bigint value
that overflows the int data type. Or a string passed to a char(10) might exceed 10 characters while it does not on the other server.
What is the query text where these 2 parameters are used?
If you remove these parameters from the data set filter, will the report run without the error?
If so, what are the values for these 2 parameters? (add 2 text boxes to the report to display the parameter values using Join(Parameters!Parameter1.Value,"; "))
Then we need to determine why it is not happening on the other.
Why is it deployed to 2 servers? Is it connecting to different data sources?
What is the difference between the two servers where it is deployed.

Combine two servers to one

Hello,
We have the system 11.5.7:
AppsTier on one server and the DBTier, concurrent managers and the admin on another server. There is no the load balance for the AppsTier. The load balance requests more than one server. So we are on the Single Node architecture and Not the Multinode architecture, though there are two servers (one for AppsTier and one for DBTier and etc) in the system.
The system has been in production about 3 years. There has never been over loaded due to the user sessions in the system. I believe we should combine the system 11.5.7 on the two servers to one server. We have the server can handle the load with significant free margin in terms of the server resources, and the performance will be improved by eliminating the latencies between the servers in the current system. Another major benefit is that the simplification for the maintenance and the upgrade.
I need to convince the management for consolidating the two servers to one server as described. Do you agree the proposed one server system is better than two servers for our system?

i know it will easier to manager one node rathter than multi-node but my point of view is that you will have a complete server to server your (froms and web) and another complete server for your database and concurrent manager.
maybe you and other users have different resones and i am intersted to know is it just becase the management of one server will be easier or are there other resons.
one qustions please is your single server more prowerfull than the other 2 servers or not?

Stepper motor 8SMC1-USBhF and power meter PM100D: how to merge the two VIs into one and make a XY graph of the current position and the power

I have a stepper motor (8SMC1-USBhF) and a power meter (PM100D). I want to measure the power while the stepper motor is moving, and obtain an XY graph with the current position on x axis and the power on y axis. So I just merged the two VIs together by copying and pasting, and created local variables for current position and readout value, and changed them to read, and then linked them to the XY graph, but apparently it doesnt work.
So could you please instruct me how to merge them and obtain an XY graph appropriately?

Hello,
The XY graph requires that each datapoint on the X axis corresponds to a datapoint on the Y axis. To create XY data you will need to creat two arrays of X data and Y data with the same amount of elements then cluster the two arrays together to wire into the XY graph. As an example take a look at the VI snippet below. Is there a specific error being thrown?

Connecting two servers

Firstly I'll state what I want to achieve and would welcome any advice.
Currently have my business network 192.168.2.x connected to my home network 192.168.1.x via VPN run by my two respective routers. Works perfectly.
Have recently installed new Lion Server on work network to handle, DNS, Mail, OD, Address Book, Chat, etc.
Am considering installing Lion Server on home network to handle the same (probably not all or as much as don't have the need)
Would it be better to use the two servers running VPN to link the two networks or leave as is via the two routers.
I imagine setting up the DNS to be the more difficult over the tasks involved. As really like just going to any machine on our network and typing mail into a browser and getting my email via webmail. I guess I would have to setup DNS on both servers to direct requests to the right server that handles the right domain.
Getting ahead of my self but would then like one server to back up the others services, if possible.
Any words of wisdom appreciated.

First you want to get static IP's and then you can setup an IPSEC tunnel or site to site VPN. Then you will want to creat a trust between the 2 domains if they are in different forests. Then you can add your user account to a universal group (forest functional level must be at Server 2003 level) for enterprise management.

Singletons running on two servers at the same time

Hello,
          we faced one interesting situation with our application, running on clustered BEA Weblogic 9.2. We implemented some Singletons (ie. Singleton Service in a Weblogic cluster) and they are running fine. Most of the time.
          Common scenarios: cluster is started -> the singletons run on one server; the server is brought down -> the singletons are started on the second server.
          However, we had recently two situations where the Singletons started on both servers! Here they are:
          1) We use Database Migration Basis and we have a dedicated table for Weblogic to capture current state of the singletons. Due to the fact that database (Oracle RAC) was partially available one of the Managed Server could not get the lease and probably assumed that no singleton is running, therefore started the singletons locally.
          2) Network outage: we had several minutes where none of our servers could communicate between them (neither between SASU MS nor with the database). Consequence: each MS decided to start the singleton locally (after some time, which I assume is the waiting time). Once the network came back the servers could communicate again but the duplicate singletons are not deactivate, so they are running in parallel.
          Anyone experienced the same or similar issues? How to prevent the above? Is the Consensus Migration Basis a better choice? (I think yes for #1 but not for situation #2).
          Any helpful answer is appreciated.

In general its not a good idea. Running PSConfig will try to establish a lock on the configuration database. Doing that from two servers at the same time may cause the update to fail.
