Yes Eric, i'm looking for implementing the CMS so that we can do the automatic transport and maintain the version also.

  • Mass change original system for objects

Is there a way to change the original systems for multiple objects at once?
So instead of changing them one by one, can the original system for objects be changed for multiple objects at once?
    Kind regards,
    Ben

I've checked with the Basis team, but they couldn't help me further.
For the moment we'll leave the objects like they are and Overwrite the originals when transporting.
    Kind regards and thanks,

  • Change Directory server for Portal Server 6.2

    Hi there,
I have the following problem with Portal Server 6.2 configuration which hopefully someone here will be able to help me with.
Basically our current setup is the Sun Portal Server 6.2, ID server 6.1 and Directory server all sitting on one (Solaris 9) box. We now wish to separate the Portal / ID server components and the Directory Server component to separate boxes. In portal server 6.0 i think there was a pssetup tool which allowed configuration of a directory server which populated it with the necessary data for portal and ID server. The directory server we will be installing to will not necessarily be a clean install, i.e. it may already be populated with data.
Is there some way therefore to re-configure the existing directory server to allow us to point our portal / ID server at it?
Thanks in advance for any help
    Laurence.

This can be done. You need to import the portal/identity server's schema into your new directory server and then export your existing directory server's content and import it into the new one.

  • Change Business System for Java Proxy Client

I have created Web AS Java business system for Java proxy.
Is it possbile to send message from client Java Proxy as another business system (Third party)?
For example to specify this system
    MessageSpecifier messageSpecifier = proxy.$messageSpecifier();
    messageSpecifier.setSenderService("MY_BUSINESS_SYSTEM");
    proxy.$messageSpecifier(messageSpecifier);

    Yes, it is.
That's the way to do it.

  • Change backend system of portal

    Hi,
We want our EP7 portal to point to a different backend system. We want no references to the old backend system.
    I know the following steps:
    1) create new system
    2) Change the Webdynrpo Jco connections
Please let me know the other steps that needs to be taken care off while changing the backend system?
    Thanks,
    Antar

No other steps needed. It is fine.
Once you delete the old system then you can test it by creating a SAP Transaction iview
during the creation it will give you a drop down of all system aliases in the portal.

  • Regarding technical system  for Portal

    Hi all:
When Define Server for Resources for ESS on backend, it asks the technical name of Portal, can you please tell me where to
    find it ?
    Thank you very much .

    Hi,
    FQDN means fully qualified name
http://hostname :port/irj/portal  ..your host name will become FQDN if it is name instead of ipaddress.
put hostname of portal as technical name.

  • SLD change for Portal 7.0 system

    Hi Experts,
Need to change existing SLD for the time being in Portal system 7.0 which has totally 5 server nodes
In the visual admin, should I have to mention the new SLD entries in SLD data supplier for one server node ( cluster > server node 1 > services) (or ) in the rest of four server nodes togeather?
Is changing the SLD entry in one server node enough?
I tried to chnage in the global configuration , but dont see any entries for mentioning the SLD details.
I will appreciate your help and suggestion
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
Changed the SLD in server node 0 and it got reflected in other server nodes automatically.
In content admin, even the SLD connection test is working fine.
Now there is a problem in Jc0 connections.
Only the SSO -Jco connection test is getting successful but the Jco metadata connection fails with the error"
why the username/password Jco only fails.
the backend system is exist in the new sld as technical system with all logon groups
    I will appreciate your help
    Thanks in advance

  • Post installation for Portal and errors for new system

I've recently installed a NW 7 based ABAPJAVA System with Portal Components (EPEP Core) on Windows + Oracle for demo.
1 ) Since, I am facing a lot of errors after the installation, I think I have missed to carry out some post-install steps. Can someone please suggest on the post-installation steps in some detail ??
    2)  When I try to open the newly installed portal using http://fqdn_host:50000/irj ; the browser shows some exception has occurred: However, I tried to restart the system (everything including db) as suggested in some of the other links and login went fine.
After I logged in to the portal (/irj) as j2ee_admin; I am trying to open Content Administration --> Portal Content OR System Administration -> Transport OR --> System Configuration etc ; but I am getting the error coded below::

Can someone please help me through this and let me know how did you draw your inference. Let me know if there is any other place that can give me more information / logs on the error.

    Hi Jay,
Please check that server is Running but not able to open some application. I would suggest to check the Enviromental Variable for My Computer :-
    - Database Enviromental variable is added or not under "user vairable for <UserID for Server Desktop>
    - Check JAVA_HOME Enviromental variable is added or not under "System Variable'
Check at (My computer > Properties >> Advance >> Startup and Recovery >> Enviromental Variable >> System Variables/User varaible
Update your server IP address and host name in host file entry at (RUN > drivers > etc > host file) and check database server services (Run > Services.msc >> Start your database services  manually and change prperties as automatic)
Then try to open portal URL http://<Host>:<Port>/irj/portal or http://<Host>:<Port>/index.html
    Hope it helps

  • Changing URL path or prefix for Java Systems for Reverse Proxying

I am running an Apache Reverse Proxy for multiple systems including Enterprise Portal and GRC.  Unfortunately, the two systems share the same directory structure (e.g. /webdynpro, /images, /logon, /useradmin, /VC).  The reverse proxy won't be able to differentiate URLs for the two systems.
I want to add a prefix (e.g. /grc/webdynpro) or change the URL directories (e.g. /grcwebdynpro) for Portal or GRC.  How can I do this?

Thank you for the reply, but could you explain?  It seems like this wiki is suggesting how to change the default port and start URL and how to configure reverse proxies in general.  It doesn't seem to answer the specific question that I have.
I need to add or modify the URL so that it is unique to the reverse proxy.  For example, EP and GRC both use /webdynpro.  I would like one of them to use a completely different structure (e.g. /grc/webdynpro) so that the reverse proxy can differentiate requests to different hosts.
The reason why changing the Start URL doesn't seem like the answer is because the fundamental directory structure is still the same.  The reverse proxy won't be able to differentiate the different requests because of this.
I am looking for some kind of configuration that lets me add a prefix to the entire web application server.  Is anyone aware of this configuration or know of an alternative solution?

  • Changing the ABAP Back-End System for the UME

    Hi,
    I went through many forums; sap notes (943498, 764417, 943602, 940893, 810434) and at help.sap.com
    (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/9e/fdcf3d4f902d10e10000000a114084/frameset.htm)
I am not able to resolve the issue.
Problem: We already have SSO configured between Portal (EP7) and backend R/3 system (ECC 6) which is working fine. Scenario is that we have dual maintenance system going on. Now we want to move our SSO configuration for Portal to point to new R/3 system, which is exactly same except different server name (same SID, system #, using same ports on different servers). Here is the catch service file for both R/3 system have same service name and port number defined.
    R/3 current: sapmsXXX    3601/tcp
    R/3 new sys: sapmsXXX     3601/tcp
Will this be causing hte problem or could be something else.
Thank in advance for your inputs!!

    Hi Patel,
It seems that the portal cannot attach backend system via load balancing.
1- Can you access to port# 3601 on 156.44.162.55 via telnet, from your portal system?
2- Did you checked your firewall settings on both systems?

  • Help, need to change IP address on host database for Portal

    Hi folks,
Rather urgent assistance (as usual) needed. I have an installation working correctly on a pair of Win2k machines, one as the 9i database, one as the 9iAS/Portal. The app server has 2 NIC cards, one with public IP address (which is ok), one on the LAN. I need to reconfigure the LAN addresses on both the machines. Initial Portal install done without DNS, i.e. actual server/host addresses entered in the configuration.
I have tried changing all of the TNS/Listner settings and the NIC card IP addresses and restarting the machines. The likes of SQLPlus work ok, with the TNS connect name allowing over the LAN access into the database with the new LAN addresses. I cannot seem to get the 9iAS/Portal to find the repository with the new addresses.
Can someone help please? I can't find the answer in any documentation or other postings.
    Thanks in advance
    Rob

There are other modes of operation for the plasst as well. I am listing them below but the formatting will make it difficult to read. If you like I can email it to you.
    Bill G...
Configuring Portal when the HTTP server host name of the Infrastructure is changed
Run the following from the $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/opca dir
ptlasst.bat -mode SSOPARTNERCONFIG -i typical -sdad portal -host myApache.domain.com -port 7777 -silent -verbose
    NOTE:
    (1) This command would create a new Portal partner application in the SSO to reflect the changes of the Infrastructure. Before running this command please ensure to configure the SSO with the correct hostname by running the ssocfg.bat script located in the Infrastructure install (<infra_home>\sso\bin).
The value for -host parameter will be the IP address of the infrastructure server and -port will be the port where the infrastructure http server is running on.
Configuring Portal when the HTTP server host name of the Middle tier is changed
    ptlasst.bat -mode MIDTIER -i typical -host myApache.domain.com -port 7777 -ldap_h myOID.domain.com -ldap_p 389 -ldap_w welcome -pwd secret123 -portal_only -oh /home/oracle -chost myHostname.domain.com -cport_i 8001 -cport_a 8000 -wc_i_pwd invalidator -mc false -mi true -silent -verbose
    NOTE :
    (1) The -host value should match the serverName value of the httpd.conf
    (2) The -chost should be updated with the correct webcache hostname. In a default iAS midtier install the -host is same as the -chost.
The value for -host parameter will be the IP address of the midtier(portal) server and -port will be the port where the portal is running on.
    Parameter Description Default Value Mandatory
    -i install_type Installation Type
In the typical mode, the OPCA would get the Infrastructure information like the Portal schema name, Portal schema password, connect string to the Portal repository, SSO Partner application schema and password, SSO Password store schema and password and connect string to the SSO repository from the Repository Access API's.
In the custom mode, the OPCA would take whatever is passed as the command line arguments.

    Hi All,
I need to change the SID of the development and quality system without making a system copy.
The requirement is on strict timeline basis so I need to find out an alternate way to do it. A system copy will need a lot more time to do the same which is the last option at this time.
    Please suggest.
