CMS integration?

When will you be able to integrate the website that you have designed on edge reflow into CMS such as Drupal,Wordpress or Joomla? Will you add this feature on the next update of edge reflow?

Muse Advanced CMS Integration

I am developing a site along the lines of that seen in the video Mused Advanced CMS Integration and I am having difficulty with the blog link - what other materials exist to help with this or has anyone done this and can help. I have found two incorrect ways at the moment - one simply says - no blogs found, the other shows an unformated 'link' which would let me go to a created blog - but I simply want the most recent blog to be visible on the homepage - as per the above mentioned video.
I am also going to create a members area so that users subscribe before being able to download pdf spec sheets. Again it would be great to hear anyones experience...

Ok, so you just want to pull CMS data into Endeca?
There are lots of ways to do that. Here is one high-level recipe.
1 - Get the data from the CMS.
Most CMS systems have the concept of "preview" and "live" content in a given environment, so you'll need to know how to tell the difference between unpublished and published content. For a simple integration we did with one CMS, we created a JSP display view to produce an Endeca-friendly XML representation of the CMS content. Most CMS systems have business user-friendly query languages - we tied our display view to a query for all published content.
There are likely going to be a lot of ways you can do this even within a single CMS, we'd suggest you find a way that makes use of the CMS's display cache so that your updates run faster than if you were hitting the CMS database/content store directly.
2 - Get the content into Endeca.
To do this you create an Endeca Content Adaptor for the CMS. For the example above, we set the QUERYURL passthrough to the URL of the display view described above. The Content Adaptor gets the XML from the CMS and pulls it in.
3 - Display data from Endeca (e.g. search results). This part is hard to describe generally, but in the example I've been going through above, we created a JSR 286 portlet for displaying search results. The portlet queries Endeca via APIs.
I am not very technical. If you needed to go deeper than this, you'd need to talk to one of our developers.

SharePoint and FrameMaker 10 CMS/Integration - Checked Out Files Stuck

Hello,
I originally set up the CMS connection to my SharePoint through FrameMaker using the domain name as a part of the user name (as suggested in a previous post), but have still run into this same issue discussed in that post, (unalterably locked files), and have been completely unable to resolve it.
When I check out a file, it gets "stuck" in that checked-out/locked state, and I'm unable to edit, check in, or discard my check out. The only thing I'm still able to do is view the files as "Open (Read only)," and delete the files.
I've even tried to access the files through the SharePoint site itself (as well as through SharePoint Workspace) in an attempt to check the files back in, but this command only returns an error about the files being checked out to a local draft, or one claiming the file may not even be checked out in the first place, etc. The only thing I seem to be able to do is delete the files from the server.
Thus far, I've been completely unable to use this tool.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm at a loss.

Thanks so much for your reply.
The login name that I used to connect to the SharePoint repository is in the format DomanName\EmployeeNumber. However, in the "Modified By" field of the Properties dialog, my full name is listed (last name, first name). Attempting to log in with the credentials DomainName\Full Name (as listed in the properties dialog) results in an error message reading: "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized".
Working outside of FrameMaker's CMS, i am indeed able to upload, check out, edit, and check in files successfully. The problem, however, with working with the files from outside of FrameMaker itself, is that SharePoint doesn't understand file dependencies upon upload. So, when I open a checked out *.book file from the server, it cannot locate the individual (also checked out) chapter *.fm files necessary to edit the document - which means I can only work with these files through FrameMaker. And, it's only within FrameMaker's CMS that I'm running into an inability to check documents back in or edit them. Bummer...

Looking for software that allows CMS integration with InDesign.

Looking for catalog production people who have already found a solution to this problem.
We have a content management system that serves as our data warehouse for our catalog and product information. This data includes information from Marketing, Accounting, and Engineering and is used with our on line catalog and data extracts for customers. Our goal is to extend the use of this system to include an interface to the printed catalog process.
Immediate goal would be to provide keyed access by product key into InDesign for pricing and technical specifications. Design staff needs to have keyed access to additional catalog information used in the catalog sections, headings, and product descriptions including bullets and paragraph information.
We are looking for software that can act as a "bridge" between InDesign and our CMS. We need a software company that can provide training and support for the InDesign users and documentation allowing IT to support new processes including the possible use of apple scripting and automator scripts.
Our IT staff has the database skills to manage and change the CMS database as needed by this project including custom tables and views. Our CMS is available using a MySql server running on Lunix. This is a dynamic copy of our primary CMS from a DB2/400 server.
We have looked at a variety of software packages, but I have found you learn so much more when you actually USE the software. I would like to avoid any more expensive dead ends.

DPS with CMS Integration

Hello:
I'm implementing DPS with the Wordpress CMS and the FolioAuthor plugin and when I try to preview and articles on the iPad and in the browser, I only see the following error:
Error: Constant WP_MEMORY_LIMIT already defined in /var/www/wordpress/wp-config.php on line 92
I am attaching a screenshot from my computer so I hope someone can help me out with this.

First of all, keep in mind that tables aren't necessarily a
block to

Secondly, you're going to have a tough time getting any
off-the-shelf CMS
working well sans tables. Most (all?) still require a lot of
table-based
grids. CMS systems aren't really known to be at the front of
the pack when
it comes to clean markup output.
If you want to have full and absolute control over the HTML
output, then you
really need to consider building your own CMS where you
retain full control
of the templates themselves.

Adobe Muse CMS integration with BC

Ok so I am working on my website http://www.duskcomputerservices.com/ So far I have a Latest News Section in the homepage and enabled News link on menu.
The thing is when ever I go into the News Section via the Menu bar from homepage, and access one of the announcements it turns the links to reference into that folder.
Ex. Click on news on menu bar, Click first News Item named Oferta de Web, the url will look like this http://www.duskcomputerservices.com/announcements/oferta-de-web
when you click back on anything on the menu bar it turns into this: http://www.duskcomputerservices.com/announcements/index.html turning up a 404 error.
To conclude what I need help in is fixing that and if someone could tell me how to shorten the Latest News on the homepage from 200px to smaller size (working on that since I have a slight idea) But mostly with the big issue is the news forcing the menu to refernece the announcement folder inside the modules on BC.

Muse itself publishes all the html pages to the same folder and hence assumes that there is no multi-level folder structure for html pages. Please note that Muse uses document-relative referencing in menus i.e. href="index.html" and not root-relative referncing i.e. href="/index.html". Now if you add some third party content/link that leads to a page/content inside a directory or URL referring to a subdirectory, then a menu link referring to "index.html" would actually be referring to an index.html page in the current subdirectory and hence breaking the original intended reference.
To get around this, a simple workaround is to use the Manual mode of menu creation and explicitly specify /index.html or /about.html, etc for the menu item hyperlinks. This would help you create a menu with links using root-relative referencing that will not break even when you go deeper into subdirectories.

Adobe Connect Web Sevices - CMS Integration

our company would like to intrgrate Adobe Connect Pro with e-learning solution using Adobe Connect Web Services API.

Here are our questions:
Q1: If we buy license for Adobe Connect Pro eg: 5 hosts 100 users, can we already use Adobe Connect Web Services API? Or do we need to host Adobe Connect Server ourselves to use it? It seems logical, that its possible in both cases hosted and SAS (software as service from adobe). But we need to be sure.
Q2: 1 host is 1 person than can manage 1 conference at a time. Is this 1 host bound to 1 adobe id account?
Q3: we want to be able to have up to 20 simultaneous conferences in each 20 participants. Analog to 20 classrooms 20 students each. What kind of license must we buy?
I called adobe support, no clear answer, called resellers, the same, Hope hiere someone will know.

Adobe Muse is not a CMS, but you can publish adobe Muse site on Business catalyst, and Business catalyst is a CMS. You can integrate BC CMS features on your Muse site.

At SAP I am aware of the following similar terms:
KM - Java-based CMS, integration framework for 3rd party CMS's and more of SAP NetWeaver, runs in the Portal
CM - The architectural part of KM that deals with basic content management services. With additional services and TREX this combines to KM.
DMS - "Document management system", R/3-based system for management of engineering documents, bases on "KPro" in Web AS ABAP, part of mySAP PLM, integrates into KM via repository manager
KW - KPro-based system for managing SAP-related documentation and training
Content Server - Object storage location for KPro-managed documents (see DMS)
KPro - "Knowledge Provider", deep level very generic set of ABAP methods to manage document attachment objects in an R/3 environment

Catalog integration in MM (html - SAP-field mapping)

Hi Experts! When integrating Catalog with MM (ME21N and ME51N), the only customizable entry in the IMG is the call-structure. Anyone who knows the transaction codes / tables for HTML-SAP-field mapping (OCI) for this scenario ?? (For PM/CS/PS-orders this is available, but I have not managed to find this for MM)...

to pull Metadata from CMS repository into MM, you will have to configure the CMS Integrator and run that CMS Integrator, this you can do from the CMC
as Werner mentioned SAP BW Integrator is being added for next MM release
its not possible to import Metadata from Excel Sheet into MM, you will need a Integrator to do that, MM supports Integrator for CMS, Data Services, RDBMS, and there are few more Integrators that are provided by MITI (it requires a separate license)
I don't think it will be possible to mimic the impact and lineage

i'm just exploring the meta data integrator. when i configure the cms with my login and the DI repo with the local repository. it says success. but when i run the job it says the following error..
[CrystalCrawlerMain]configuration <config_new> not valid
CMS Integrator failed: configuration <config_new> not valid
when i test it. it is successfull and the job is also successful.

Sergey, many thanks for your help. I am still having some problems however.
For Data Services (BO XI3), I had to change the cmdConfig.cmd file and
set CE_JARS_DIR=E:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\4\java\lib. I also had to copy the load.jar to this directory.
I was then able to successfully run the setup which created the folder in the CMC.
When I run the metadata integrator program in the CMC, it runs through successfully. However when i look at the impact and lineage in the DI Mgmt console, I am not seeing any information on objects in my BO repository.
Not sure if I'm missing a step..any help would be appreciated

Download attachment binary via integration API?

I've been using the CMS integration API to do everything I've needed to do. But I cannot figure out how to download the binary of an attachment. I can figure out how to get all the attachment info associated with a CMS document, but I cannot figure out how to download the binary of the attachment itself. Is this possible?
I'm currently integration with CMS version 13.

Hello Billy,
I believe that the API can only be used to add references to files that already exist in a specific location and the API cannot be used to add files to or download files from the file server.
