CMS moves to production

Hi,
We are using the CMS for our landscape ( XI 3.0) from some time, DEV to QA
transports are moved with out any problem but i am facing the below
problem when i move few transports from quality to production.
In the Assembly tab i am selecting the particular component to be moved
instead of All components in the SELECT COMPONENT field but when i
assemble the particular object and move to production all the objects
for that component are been moved to production ( around 100 objects
are moved).
Please help me on this ASAP.
Note: If i want to move one particular object of SAP_HR software component to PRD from QA ( already there are 10 objects under this component in QA) is this possible thru CMS or not ?
Thanks
Sonali

Hi,
Thanks a lot tp every one for ur help and support...
I have raised the OSS message and SAP has replied saying as below
sorry, but I'm afraid there is a misunderstanding here: As said before
assembly in CMS will collect the complete SC content from CONS state.
It is indeed confusing that you can mark single changes in asembly tab
-that's why this has even been changed in CMS UI with NW04S, SP13: Sincethen only a list of SCs is displayed (and selectable).
To state it most explictly: There is no way to influnce the assembly
result by any kind of selection of entries in assembly tab -it will
always assemble all changes present in CONS state.
Basic idea behind CMS track concept is that everything being released
from DEV will have to be distributed, CONS is mostly to check
completeness.
Meaning also that if you only want to ship parts you have to test them
before releasing (in DEV runtime system or other local RTS) or if you
find issues in CONS blocking further distribution you have to fix them
first (preferably in DEV, then retransporting -or if not possible then
directly in CONS, additionally afterwards also in DEV...).
Fixing here of course could mean 'improving until working' or 'removing
not working parts' (content itself is of course not lost, as DTR will
keep it in version history).
Hope this can help to clarify.

  • Tick for goods movement in production order

    Hi,
I have one query with reference to tick for goods movement in production order.
Where it comes from as soon as i released the order.
Is there any customized setting or it is stanadard functionality?
    Tushar

    Hi,
I am not sure about which tick you are talking. So pls clarify exactly which check boxes you are talking in Production Order.
If you are talking about check boxes of Goods Receipt,  GR Non valuated & Delivery Completed check boxes then those are standard SAP functionality which comes automatically at the time of creation / release of the order.
Revert with more details in case your query is not resolved.

  • Cloning a test CMS from a Production environment - process?

Hi there - I am attempting to clone a test environment from a production CMS system database.
    ENVIRONMENT
    BO Version: XI3.1
    O/S: Linux
    Web Server: JBOSS 4.3
    Database platform: Oracle 10g
    BOXI SETUP
    1. BOXI environment type on Production (clustered with two nodes.)
*. Linux servernames for each BOXI node=Prod100 and Prod 101.
*. JBOSS ports on both nodes=15000. CMS port on both nodes=6400.
    *. Database Sid=BOCMS@PROD
    2. BOXI environment type on Perf (clustered with two nodes)
*. Linux servernames for each BOXI node=Perf100 and Perf 101.
*. JBOSS ports on both nodes=15100.
*. CMS port on both nodes=6400.
    *. Database Sid=BOCMS@PERF
    Process and requirement
For each project, as part of performance testing, we copy the production database (CMS / system database) in order to clone it. The idea is that we have a copy of production which we can then use for performance testing. We do not need to rebuild the BOXI 3.1 server (that remains there), but we need to rebuild system database. In version five we would copy the BO_REPADMIN schema into the PERF database and then change the connections in Supervisor. Can this process also be done in XIR3.1 ?
    Options considered so far
    1. The DBAs recommended just copying the BOXI CMS / System Database tables from PROD to the PERF database. My question is - don't we then need to change the settings in the CMS database (PERF) to somehow so point to the correct physical servers / correct SIA etc.? Could I just alter th FRS references and use the cmsdbsetup.sh to alter all the details or are there other steps required (manally altering ccm.config) ?
    2. Copying the CMS from the PROD to the PERF CMS schema. However it seems like this is not an option as the Admin guides stipulates:
"However, you cannot change the BusinessObjects Enterprise installation path, operating system, and machine name"
As the installation path for the BOXI performance environment is different to production and they reside on different physical machines it sounds to me that this isn't an option, right?
    3. Use the cmsdbsetup.sh script - create a blank new CMS on the PERF database then migrate all production objects from PROD to PERF using the Import Wizard.
Could anyone recommend further options? Thanks in advance.

    Hi;
Can any one explain the detaild process about Operating level snapshot to prepare a test setup from a production databaseMainly; We are using IBM disk and our disk team take snapshot of disk and we can work on those snapshot than storage team again revert back system orginal state.

  • Error in posting goods movement with production order

    Hi all,
I have a custom program that post goods movement using function  'Bapi_Goodsmvt_Create'.
The material passed into is a FERT material along with movement type 101,  goods-movement code = 02', movement indicator = 'F'.    This function gives an error :
'E M7 022 Order quantity exceeded by 21.390 cse : item xxxxxx, plant xx prod order xxxxx'.
The material is a take weight material.   In production order, it came up to 910lb for total weight.
In goods receiving this material, i have changed the material from 910lb to 1016.950.
This is where the error came in.  Note: 21.39 cases = 106.95 lb.
We had such take weight material worked before.
Can anyone pls suggestion what can be done about this ?
    Thanks
    Joyce

    Hi Dario,
Because the finised material is a take weight product, it should be ok unless there is a tolerance in the takeweight.   Also the production order is generated from 2 sales orders.
To migo a production order, would it be A01 Goods Receipt and  R08 for prod order ?
    Thank you.

  • CMS - Transport to Production has all the objects of ID

    Hi All,
I am trying to transport objects of Integration Directory from Dev to QA to Production using CMS. It is not a new setup. It is successful all the way, upto Production. But it brings all the objects of all the scenarios from QA to Production, instead of just selected scenario. The transport from Dev to QA is perfect, with objects related to only selected scenario. In 'Assembly' step, there are two options in 'Select component' drop down. 'All components' and 'sap.com.SAP-INTDIR. I selected the later but still it brings all the objects while I select 'lsadmin' and select 'Transfer' in Production Integration Directory.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    - Atul

try this option....once you send the objects to QA from Dev, neglect that transport and then  perform the transport from QA. This will enable the sub-set assembly option in the track. You can then select the required one. This will ensure that only the required transports go through. This happens generally in a four env landscape. We are having the same sort of setup in our project.
    Reward if helpful.

  • CMS Movement from Lync 2010 to Lync 2013 SQL Mirroring

    Hi,
I have read the articles and i know how to move CMS to Lync 2013 , MY question is after moment CMS to Lync 2013 , the new DBs on SQL server will be mirrored automatically or i have to apply some procedure to make them mirror.
    Regards
    Usman Ghani
Usman Ghani - MCITP Exchange 2010

    Good morning,
If the new Lync 2013 Enterprise Pool you deployed has a mirrored backend, then when you move the CMS to that instance the database will inherently be mirrored. There is no requirement to perform any additional action or procedure.
This assumes that you have an enterprise Lync 2013 deployment as a mirrored CMS would not be available on a standard edition deployment.
    Kind regards
    Ben

  • Goods movement for production order

is there a way that goods that are produced moves in to blocked stock and after certain period of time (eg 3 days) they move in to unrestricted use  automatically. can we do this

    Hi,
In CO02, on "Goods receipt" tab you can set the "Stock type" in which the goods should be posted when you make confirmation.
You can set QI stock type in material master (MM02, "Work scheduling" tab), but I'm not aware of any possibility to set Blocked stock type as default... Is there any sense to post the goods directly into blocked stock type?
I'm afraid your requirement cannot be covered in standard system.

  • Pre-install HYPER-V VMs, then Move to Production Server - Questions

    Hi All,
I am currently taking over IT Admin duties for a new client, and will be downscaling their bloated 20 server environment to a 5 server Hyper-V environment (about 4 VMs per server).  It will be a complicated, and rather time consuming/time sensitive
process, given that as soon as I am handed the Admin passwords, I am expected to transition the entire network to a new DC server VM, a seperate Exchange VM, and seperate DirectAccess VM over a 3 day weekend.
I was thinking about getting started on this early, and was planning on setting up and configuring the DC and Exchange Server VMs on an old spare Dell server I have with my licensed copy of Server Standard 2012 R2 with Hyper V role enabled.  Then,
when it comes time to transition them over the 3 day weekend, it would be a simple matter of copying the HYPER-V Folder (containing Virtual Hard Disks & Virtual Machines folders) from the spare Dell Server to a portable USB drive that will be brought to
client's site.  Then at client's site, I would erase and install Server Standard 2012 R2 Hyper V on one of the client's 20 servers (probably the best of the bunch), and then copy the HYPER-V folder containing the DC & Exchange server from
the portable USB drive to it.  Then I would simply import the DC and Exchange VMs via the Hyper V Manager.
My two questions are as follows:
    1) Just to be sure, given the DC and Exchange VMs are virtualized, it will make no difference to transitioning from an old crappy Dell server to a rather new modern Dell server.  I know performance will be better on the new server, but there will be
no complications with the VM migration (aside from allocating more Cores, Memory, & Virtual NIC)...yes?
    2) The client's Windows Server licenses - client is currently under an Enterprise Subscription license with Microsoft (either Open Value or Open Business - dont know yet). For the time being (before the 3 day transition), can I get away with using a 180
day trial editions of Server Standard 2012 R2 and Exchange 2013 to setup and configure the VMs, and then activate the trial editions later using their existing Enterprise Keys?  Or will this not work because of some incompatible reason?
There are over 200 users and 300 email accounts, so I would really prefer to configure all this ahead of time if I can, but dont want to find out last minute or on day of migration that my Enterprise Key wont activate because I used the trial editions and
I have to reinstall/reconfigure all over again.  Is this possible or is there another, better, recommended way?
Ultimately, I would like to get as much done ahead of time, so that then the major issues on migration day will be data migration (files, folders, and email) and the reinstallation of all 100 workstations (via Windows Deployment Services - yeeah baby!!!).
Does this sound possible?  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I see only one problem with your plan: Once you promote Windows Server to be a domain controller, you can't change its license key. That means that you won't be able to go from trial to licensed on that one. Since you're talking about transitioning from
a physical DC to a virtualized DC, what I've done in the past is create a temporary virtualized domain controller with a trial key. Then, you can use all the AD tools to decommission and remove the original and then rebuild it from scratch as a virtual machine
with the proper license key later. That lets you re-use its IP -- and, while riskier, even its name -- if you want, although you need to ensure you do an extra thorough job of cleaning out all the remnants of the original first (AD Sites & Services and
ADSIEdit are your friends). Once you're satisfied with the rebuilt DC, you can decomm the temporary DC at your leisure, or keep it for redundancy if they have sufficient licensing. Pay special attention to relocating DNS and DHCP, etc.
Everything else looks sound. Exchange migrations aren't my forte, though.

  • Full export of the CMS from Production to Development

    Hello All,
We have to export the reports and universes from Production to Development. In short we need to sync the Development CMS repository with Production CMS repository.
What is the best way to do this. Is Import Wizard the only way to export the contents to Development?
Because when I exported one report from Dev to Prod , we had to go and reset the scheduling properties again in Production. It did not maintain the properties which it was set to before. Is there a way to maintain the scheduling properties the way it was set to before. Or every time when we export a modified report to Production, we need to go and set properties back?
We are using BO 3.1 version.
    Thanks,
    Naveen

    Hi NR,
You will see both Development & Productions services when you go to the "Servers" in CMC once the development is up.
    For example,
    dev.pageserver
    dev.reportjobserver
    dev.cacheserver
    prod.pageserver
    prod.reportjobserver
    prod.cacheserver
this happens b'cos of using the production schema for development. It will have a copy of the production services, so you need to delete the services once the CMC is up and running.

  • Steps to move workflow to production system

    Hi,
We have a workflow in our production system. Now we have totally changed the workflow in dev system like total logic and new tasks have been created for the same. Now we are ready to move to production system after testing. So what all things are to be done/checked in production system. One thing we faced while moving to quality was that agent assingment was missing in quality.and we made it 'general' in quality system.will that happen in production also.if yes, what we need to do.
do we need to close our previous workflows before sending new definiton.I really dont know if we change the workflow, will the running workflows run on old version or new version.
Please help me on the steps or checklist that I should follow.

I think you should use  this link to transport task attribute

  • CMS database move from Lync 2010 to 2013 went well but.....

Something odd when I was done. Everything went perfectly. No errors at all and went as expected. I noticed though after everything was done and I had not yet uninstalled the CMS from Lync 2010 that two services on the Lync 2010 were stopped but in an Automatic
startup state. They are the "Lync Server File Transfer Agent' and the "Lync Server Master Replicator Agent'. Thought it was odd they were both stopped. I am sure it had something to do with the CMS move and all the scripting that goes on. The rest
of the Lync services are running.
I am thinking though if they were supposed to be stopped, why not disable them. Why leave them at Automatic. I am not seeing any errors or warnings at all on the Lync 2010 or 2013 servers. Application, System and Lync Server logs are clean. Everything appears
    to be OK.
Thing that concerns me though is when I run the Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus on the 2013 FE, the databases all come back looking good with UpToDate = True but the last replication was last night (about 8-9 hours ago) shortly after I completed the
    procedure.
I want to just uninstall the CMS on Lync 2010 which is the last step but I want to make sure everything is OK before I do. Not sure if I should start those services. I never rebooted the 2010 server after moving the CMS. Seems if I did, those services would
have tried to start. Very confused here.
Wanted to add also that I have both the above services on the 2013 FE server and they are both running. And, when I run Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus -CentralManagementStoreStatus on my Lync 2013 FE, it says it is the active master and active file
transfer agent so maybe that is why the services are stopped? If so, what if I had rebooted the 2010 server. Those services would have tried to start because they are set to Automatic.
I guess the real question here is how often should the Lync servers being updating their replicas with each other. We have a very small environment right now with only a few hundred users.

This process of transferring information updates from master to replica is called replication. The replication process consists of copying information between directories from the master to the replicas, applying the changes received to the
replica and report status back to the master.
The MASTER generates the data package containing new changes to CMS and stores a copy in each to-replica directory for every replica.
The data package must be copied to all replicas. All Lync Server 2013 servers, except the Edge Server, uses the Windows file copy SMB protocol mechanism to push the data package from the CMS master to the replica.
For Edge servers, since Edge servers is not a member of domain, the file copy is performed over an HTTPS channel. The Edge Server runs a Web Service on the port specified for the ManagementServices in the topology document. The default port is 4443. Even
you Move CMS store and CMS Master service from 2010 to 2013, the replication is a logical concept so you can replicate CMS information with the help of Lync server 2013 CMS master service.
You can refer to the link below, it is for Lync server 2010 but similar for Lync server 2013:
