COA setup in Sale, Cost and Expenses

My client set up Sales, Cost active accounts in level 2 but Expenses accounts in level 3 while Balance Sheet active accounts in level 3. I think they should put all Active Accounts in level 3 to get the B/S or I/S figures.
Am I right?

Hi,
I am not sure why you would be wanting to delete a account when you can move the Account location.
Please do all the testing in the TEST Enviorment and check the working.
The reason delete option may not coming is that the account would have been mapped in the G\L Determination window. kindly check it.

• Tcode for Sales Cost Release

Hi,
Kinldy tell me, we do cost release of material through CK40N in manufactured material. But our business scenario, we have sales order costing. During Sales order creation through VA02 and final saving the sales order, automatically sales costing and marking is done which flows to Sales pricing. But untill and unless if I not able to cost release of final finished item how my standard price will be updated ? Because our sale order costing, costing variant is PPC4 which is not being appeard in CK40N. Those materials which costing is done through CK11N only those material's cost relase is possible through CK40N.
In our our case how we will do cost release ?
Best Regards,
Samrat Roy

Hi Christian,
We understand your comment. But as our scenario make to order process, one final finished item say VEHI-INTEA which is inhouse item ie, price control S, Under this S price material there is another S price material say NF01 which includes 35 BOM components. In NF01 we have put manually standard price. 35 BOM components MAP is updating from PO, GRN and planned price also available for costing. While we are doing sales order automatically costing and marking is done. We are doing sales order of final finihsed item VEHI-INTEA. Under VEHI-INTEA during cost calculation 5 components are picking due to as per BOM dependency written. Calculated cost is capturing under Pricing condition and sale price of the material is also there. If any of the components price chage and later if we want to say what is the final finished item price how we can check its standard price. Normally make to stock scenario while we do cost release of final finished item through CK40N or CK24 standard price is updated by calculating cost from its BOM components.
In our scenario if we need to update standard price how we can update standard price ? We are near to golive stage. During golive we will initailly update standard price manually. But what will happen stanard price update after golive ?. BOM componets price will change but final finished item pirce will not update.
In this Sales Order costing while automatice marking is done then it is not updated in material master costing 2 veiw where as normal cost release through CK40N in marking stage, price goes to future price under costing 2 tab and after release, price stamped to current price of Costing 2 view of material master and as well as standard price also updated under Accounting 1.

Hi,
Item cost is only linking to purchase or production. There is no link between sales and item cost.

• Can anybody tell me how to extract sales value and cost value for an materi

dear all,
Can anybody tell me how to extract sales value and cost value for an material sold .
All the values of cost value and sale values are getting stored in bseg-wrbtr field .
How to identify them uniquely.
Or there is another way to find the sale and cost values.
Regards
Mave

Hi Mave!
Normally there is no condition change, when something is sold.
But sales price depends on sales conditions (not only price, but also surcharges, discounts, taxes - if customized).
Nevertheless, after selling you have a invoice document, where correct values should be stored (see VBRP fields mentioned above). If here is a problem, then customizing of price determination is in question, not a programming of user-exits with MARD selection for costs (or some other tries to get a price).
When you specify your requirements more in detail, you might get better answers - but currently only general hints are possible ('see in invioce / G/L accounts').

Christian

• Cost in Sales Order and Billing not match

Dear all,
I am facing a problem that the cost in Sales Order and Billing (order-related billing) not match.
The error seems related to sales order is getting moving price (MBEW-VERPR) as cost but billing is calculated by issued amount / qty.
Here's the detail (refer to the screen captures).
Sales qty = 1330 PC.
Local currency = HKD, sales doc currency = RMB, exchange rate = 1.26215.
Condition type ZCSR, condition category = G (Internal price).
When creating sales order ,
Cost is take from MBEW-VERPR => 1.86 HKD
Cost converted to doc currency => 1.473 RMB => 1.47 RMB
Total amount = 1,330 x 1.47 = 1,955.10 RMB
When creating billing from the delivery note,
Cost seems taking from total value divided by total stock in the article doc.
Cost = 2,477.82 / 1,330 = 1.863022556390 HKD => 1.476 RMB => 1.48 RMB.
Total amount = 1330 x [(2,477.82 / 1,330) / 1.26215] = 1,963.17 RMB
My goal is to align the same cost and amount in sales order and billing.
Please help.
Thank you very much.

Dear joan,
Thank you very much for your advise.
I implemented example 1 as in note 24832, trying to disable price re-determination in billing.
However it doesn't work.
Added code in example 1:
Copy control Delivery type LF to invoice F2, pricing type changed to X:
Still ZCSR re-determined but not copying from sales order (1.47 RMB):

• Cost of sales, SD and COPA

Hi everybody
I'm using cost based COPA, and I would like generate the cost of sales posting to COPA from the material document of post goods issue. Does anyone know how to do this?
(I know that the usual way is to use price condition VPRS, but that generates some consistency problems between COPA and FI).
Thanks in advance
JPT

Thank you for your input Ram.
The thing is, I've configured OKB9 so that the COGS account would be filled in with the segment. The problem is that, even tough the segment is filled in the material document, there's no COPA document created. If I create a similar document directly in FI, it creates a COPA document.
I'm also thinking about an alternative solution:
- When posting goods issue, I would post to a "unbilled goods issue" account;
- In the invoice, I would create a new pricing condition that would take the VPRS value would post to the cost of sales account and would clear the "unbilled goods issue" account.
For this second solution I would need additional customizing, exits and pricing routines, but I think it would work. The first solution would be far more simple (basically I would have the same consistency as in account-based COPA, and the additional functionality of cost-based accounting).
If someone has any previous experiences or inputs on these ideas, they would be largely appreciated.
Thanks!

• Hide the cost and margin fields on Sales Orders and Invoices

Hi all,
I need to hide the cost and margin fields in Sales Orders and Invoices. We sell our products to our employees sometimes, hence we don't want them to know cost and margin information.
Can this be done?
Cheers

Go to VOV7 & as per the Item category ,de - select the Check Box Determine Cost.
Else remove the Condition Type VPRS & Margin Condition type from the Pricing Procedure

• Material with item cat.group ERLA impact on costing and sales pricing

Hello,
I would like to know if a material which is defined as item category group ERLA and which has two sub-items posted in the BOM with usage 5 with its respective std cost could be calculated for costing or not?
Can I have some information about the impact on costing and pricing in sales?
Thanks in advance
AB

No the material type should be a FG : it is relevant for sales reporting. For example I call it material "A". In the material master data within the sales screen the item category group ERLA is assigned to "A" . The material A is a grouping material with a sales BOM which contains some sub-items for example B and C which are picked and shipped together. The grouping material is not handled as stock material: only the sub-items are stocked and moved.
The customer could only require the material A with its price and receive phisically the two sub-items with a unique package unit or with two separate ones.
In this scenario the FG with ERLA item could be estimated for standard cost or not?
Thanks in advance

• Flow material product cost to sales order cost and no explosion of structur

Hello,
We have a business requirement - Business is currently performing product costing at material on monthly basis using quantity structure (with help of avaiable bom and routings). Material costing nicely gives the cost with clear split of material cost, labour cost, external cost etc. Then at sales order level we want to do the preliminary sales order costing. The reason for sales order planned costing is, we are performing result analysis revenue based by comparing planned cost. Business is saying, we already calculated the material cost, labour cost at the product level and same should be as it is transferred to the sales order planned cost and we just want to add the overheads.
The cost already calculated should directly pass to sales order and the order should not explode the BOMs again or try to find activity prices from routings. Then with the already available values of material, labour costs, system should only add the overheads via costing sheet.
The cost compenent structure exploded in material should be passed to sales order and not just the total cost.
There are several reasons I believe sap should not allow this behaviour. I seek your inputs to validate the same.

THIS SHOULD BE POSSIBLE WITH "TRANSFER STRATEGIES" - TCODE OKKM.
GO BY THE BELOW GIVEN PATH AND TRY.
READ IMG DOCUMENTATION FIRST, THEN TRY.
