Code Signing a Director 12 App for the AppStore

I have seen a few discussions on this topic and signing and submitting to the AppStore while full of challenges was possible with Director 11.
With Director 12, we have been unable to code sign the projector.
We use the Terminal to do it:
codesign -f -v -s "3rd Party Mac Developer Application: Developer's Name" [path to .app]
We get the following error:
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/bin/cod esign_allocate: the __LINKEDIT segment does not cover the end of the file (can't be processed) in: /Users/OurApp.app/Contents/MacOS/OurApp
/Users/OurApp.app: code failed to satisfy specified code requirement(s)
Any ideas would be welcome!
Additionally:
I have just discovered that unless Director is updated any submissions to the Apple App Store will be refused because of the use of the QuickTimes APIs
Deprecated API Usage - Apple no longer accepts submissions of apps that use QuickTime APIs.

There isn't a way to save as an earlier version, but my article from 13 years ago still holds true:

The article tells you how to find two copies of a particular pair of numbers. For D7 those numbers would be 057E, D8 would be 0640, and D8.5 is 073A. Changing the two places where those number are will make the DIR open in older versions of Director.
The numbers for D11.5 are 0782, and for D12 they are 079F. So, track down the two places where 079F are (which are 18 positions apart) and change them to 0782, and you'll be able to open the file in D11.5.
One change since I wrote that article is that the identification sequence is now the Windows one on Mac too, most likely because it's an Intel app now. So, the number sequence to look for to get close to those two numbers is 46 43 52 44. In the file I checked there were three places where those numbers were, and it's the last of the places that followed by the two numbers, about 8 & 26 bytes later.

First go to Settings > iTunes and App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID > Then Tap on Sign Out.
Go back and sign in again and see if you can update your security question.
Still having problems? I'd sign out of my Apple account, then reset your iPad before signing back in. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

You can hide them via your computer's iTunes : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases - Apple Support
The 'x' might not show on their top left corner (it might be invisible), but clicking where it should be should hide the app.

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

Code signing Windows Store Apps

I can't get a very clear answer on the code signing requirement for deploying Windows Store Apps to the app store, even after searching the Internet for a couple of days. Specifically, my question is: are you required (not just recommended) to have a third
party Code Signing Certificate to publish to the Windows App Store?
I am not distributing the app to internal customers, but rather to external customers via the app store. If I'm missing this requirement documented in the documentation available on this site, can you point me to it?

All methods of deployment (Windows Store, PowerShell or System Center Configuration Manager) require the application to be signed using a certificate. The Windows Store channel requires a signing certificate
from a publicly trusted CA because, well, the testers in the approval process won't have access to your internal PKI.

Try this:
1. Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

How to Code Sign a Mac App?

I'm fairly new to Mac OS X Development (been developing apps for the iPhone though). We've recently developed an app that requires Bonjour/internet connectivity and now the Mac asks the user each time if they'd like to allow the app for incoming connections. It seems eventhough the user clicks 'Allow', for some users it still doesn't work (i.e. connection from other devices over bonjour fails) and we feel it's a firewall issue.
We need to somehow codesign the app so that the Mac does not ask this question each time. How can one ensure their app is not 'firewalled'? Thanks!

Here you go, it's not too hard once you get stuff set up: Code Signing Guide.
Once you get this identify set up, double-click on your target and one of the build settings sections will show code signing options. Just choose your setup from the popup menu.

i'm not quiet sure atm but should normally work like this:
connect to itunes store -> log out with ur account (upper right corner where ur apple id is displayed) -> sign in with ur wifes apple id -> activate computer (store->activate this computer)
normally it should work this way but ur wife wont be able to use apps or music within itunes library purchased with the other apple id

YOu need to sign out of the PC thru the CC manager and then sign in on the Mac.

Where do i download docstogo app for the desktop on macbook pro

I have the docs to go on my ipad but i need to put it on my desktop on mackbook pro. i have looked in itunes on the macbook but thats no good so i looked at purchases on the app store still on the macbook but i cant find any of my purchases, all there is are purchases from my husbands account, i have signed out and in but it makes no difference. i use my ipad all the time but not the macbook very often but i need to make a lot of changes to a document in docstogo so it would be easier to do it on the macbook. does anybody know where i download the docstogo app for desktop please.

Developing mobile apps for the blackberry platform

Hello all
I'm interested in developing mobile apps for the Blackberry smartphone and read that the best way to do it is with Java. Any advice on how to do this?
I would be starting from scratch as I don't have a programming background but am keen to learn. Also can anyone recommend any introductory books that are really good at learning Java?

welcome to the SDN.
Programming for a mobile device is sort of advanced and you need to know the basics first. As you have no programming background this is even more important.
Do yourself a favor and forget about the blackberry for a few months and learn programming basics first.

Zoom app for the iphone video cam?

would it be possible to add zoom to the video cam using a 3rd party application?

There are apps in the AppStore that do this for still pictures, but its a digital zoom meaning all it does it zoom/crop the image.
The only way to zoom the video is to move closer to the subject.
A proper zoom is a hardware feature, not software.

You need to view your iTunes account and make sure you have a valid payment method in the account. Unless you initially setup the account without a credit card you need a valid payment method even for free apps.

Make sure Restricitions is not enabled.
Tap Settings > General > Restrictions
If you are using the same Apple ID to login to this forum it should work on your iPad at the App Store.
