Code syntax error in header using a template?

Now running CS5 DW in a 32 bit Windows/Vista ultimate environment. The improved error messages have brought to light a problem that I apparently have had for a long time but didn't know it as CS4 simply flagged the line but no message.
Many of my site pages use a template http://a0540807.uscgaux.info/Templates/A0540807_Skeleton_2010.dwt
If I build or edit a page using this template in CS5, when in code view I see "There is a syntax error on line 57. Code hinting may not work until you fix this error.  Line 57 is within the header of the page and is simply </script>
But if I simply detach the template from the page, the error goes away and it says no syntax errors.
So I am confused, is there an issue with the code or is this a Dreamweaver issue dealing with template usage?
While the error appears cosmetic, I keep wondering what to do to eliminate. Apparently, I have had this situation a long time as Line 57 is also identified back in CS4 but no error message until CS5. Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks.
Andy

I don't actually think there is any problem with your page...run one of your child pages through the W3C validator: http://validator.w3.org/ . I cast a page from your template and it came through with flying colors!

  • ABAP Runtime ERROR Error Code & Syntax Error in program SAPLSFES

    Hi,
    I am installing SAP XI 3.0 and as part of that I have installed the ABAP and Java WAS. I am applying SPs for the ABAP stack and I successfully applied the BASIS SPs 10 and 11(applied seperately). I was applying the SPs 12 and 13(together) and after running for some time the system crashed and I restarted the O/S and SAP to see that the SPs didn't go thru. Now when I try to log on using SAP GUI, it says "<b>ABAP Runtime ERROR Error Code</b>" which is blank and at the Bottom there is this message "<b>Syntax Error in program SAPLSFES</b>".
    Pls any one help me ,
    Kind Regards,
    Gopi.

    Hi Gopi,
       If u r applying patches, the system would be running a background job SAPLSTPA. Hence you willnot be able to login till the job is complete.
      You can check the job completion in the Windows MMC console.

    Thank you. it was my careless mistake. i changed that mistake. but still it is not working, get same exception.
    st = con.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO  TimeSheet (uname, date, intime) VALUES (?,?,?)");suppose, if i will give values for all fields, it will work fine, example
    st = con.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO  TimeSheet  VALUES (?,?,?,?,?,?)");
    st.setString(1,user);
    st.setString(2,date);
    st.setString(3,intime);
    st.setString(4,outtime);
    st.setString(5,duration);
    st.setString(6,descrip);
    st.executeUpdate();But my problem is i want to insert the values for only 3 fields.
    give me the solution for inserting values for specified fields

  • Code 10 error for touchscreen using windows 8

    We have a HP 42" monitor (LD4200tm) and the touchscreen feature does not work and we have a code 10 error - device not working. The panel works fine using Windows 7 and the drivers appear to be the most updated.

    Hi: See if this works... Download but don't run this driver... The package contains Broadcom Wireless LAN driver. It is required to enable integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN adapter. File name: sp68301.exe Go to the device manager, right click on the problem Broadcom wireless adapter. Select Uninstall and check the Uninstall Driver box. Reboot and see if installing the driver I posted above installs the device properly.

    A JSP is not the same as a Java application. A Java application has package statment, import statements, try/catch block, a JSP doesn't.

  • Overriding error window while using a template to tag Metadata

    We have created a custom panel to tag hard drives of still images and everything is working as expected with the following exceptions:
    1)  When we select thousands of images on the hard drive to apply a metadata template, we get random error messages that Metadata cannot be applied to image XXXX.  There is nothing different or unique about this image that would make it throw an error.  The error images are always in the middle of a bracket of a sequence of 10 shots.  It might be the first, third or fifth in a sequence, in other words, I cannot identify a pattern.  Out of 4,000 images in the selected group for the template, 200 can back with errors, about 5%.
    2)  It is our hope to let the tagging process run overnight but when Bridge cannot write MD to a file, it displays a window and stops the tagging process until the OK button is hit.  I have not been able to find an "override  error message" check box which would allow the operation to run unattended.  Any way to override this window?  Would writing a script with a "do not show errors" line included work?  Do you happen to have a script like this as I am not an expert script writer.
    Howard

    I have already added my userid before server...
    <add name="DefaultConnection" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" connectionString="tcp:q89jcwtry3.database.windows.net,1433;Database=JodoData;User ID=keval-pc@q89jcwtry3;Password=myPassword;Trusted_Connection=False;Encrypt=True;Connection Timeout=30" />

    I tried with this too,
    <add name="DefaultConnection" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" connectionString="tcp:q89jcwtry3.database.windows.net,1433;Database=JodoData;User ID=[email protected];Password=myPassword;Trusted_Connection=False;Encrypt=True;Connection Timeout=30" />
    <add name="JodoDataEntities" connectionString="metadata=res://*/Model1.csdl|res://*/Model1.ssdl|res://*/Model1.msl;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string=&quot;data source=tcp:q89jcwtry3.database.windows.net;initial catalog=JodoData;integrated security=False;User ID=[email protected];Password=myPassword;MultipleActiveResultSets=True;Encrypt=True;TrustServerCertificate=False;App=EntityFramework&quot;" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" />
    Azure itself giving me below connection string, I am just replacing password...
    Server=tcp:q89jcwtry3.database.windows.net,1433;Database=JodoData;User ID=keval-pc@q89jcwtry3;Password={your_password_here};Trusted_Connection=False;Encrypt=True;Connection Timeout=30
    Is this ok, or I need to change somewhere in entity framework connection string ?

    can anybody tell me what's wrong with this, please:

    Line 4 should probably be
    SMS_UpdateComplianceStatus.resourceid=sms_r_system.resourceid
    Sorry Jason, I have to disagree. If you change that line you will get a provide error. The query is fine the way it is, I have personally test it. I didn't validate the results but it does work correct.

  • Extended Syntax Error......

    Hi All,
    In my Program I have created the following Subroutine -
    FORM call_back TABLES record_tab  STRUCTURE seahlpres
                                      CHANGING  shlp_top TYPE shlp_descr
                                                         callcontrol TYPE ddshf4ctrl.
    Here seahlpres is a DDIC Structure
    Now this is giving an Extended Syntax Error stating that "Using STRUCTURE is Obsolete".
    Agreed, but I am unable to use following -
    FORM call_back TABLES record_tab  TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF seahlpres
                             CHANGING  shlp_top TYPE shlp_descr
                                                callcontrol TYPE ddshf4ctrl.
    or
    FORM call_back TABLES record_tab  TYPE LINE OF seahlpres
                             CHANGING  shlp_top TYPE shlp_descr
                                                callcontrol TYPE ddshf4ctrl.
    How to remove this Error, by what way should RECORD_TAB be declared as to remove the Error.

  • DreamWeaver CS4-CS5 Creates Syntax Errors

    I cannot seem to find any info on this online but my DreamWeaver CS4 and a trial of DreamWeaver CS5 both create PHP and SQL queries that are loaded with syntax errors. I use XAMPP on my computer as I have done for years, and it works fine with phpMyAdmin and Komodo Edit. DreamWeaver has been a nifty app to quickly knock out simple applications in that past, but now I spend too much time manually correcting syntax errors in PHP page queries.
    Has anyone there heard of a fix for this? Several other web developers have told me that they entirely abandoned DW CS* series and moved on to other IDE's rather than try to fix the problem.
    EXAMPLE:
    Here is what it wrote:
    if ((isset($_POST["MM_update"])) && ($_POST["MM_update"] == "form1")) {
      $updateSQL = sprintf("UPDATE `mysite` SET about-yn=%s, about-h1=%s, about-p1=%s, about-p2=%s, about-p2-img=%s, about-p3=%s, about-p3-img=%s, about-p4=%s, about-p4-img=%s WHERE siteID=%s",
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutyn'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['abouth1'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp1'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp2'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp2img'], "int"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp3'], "text"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp3img'], "int"),

                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['aboutp4img'], "int"),
                           GetSQLValueString($_POST['siteID'], "int"));
    Here is what it should have written:
    f ((isset($_POST["MM_update"])) && ($_POST["MM_update"] == "form1")) {

    Dreamweaver will not produce such a mess when using column names which comply with the MySQL Naming Conventions and don´t contain (often quite problematic) hyphen characters.
    That said, you´ll be on the safe side when renaming your columns by using underscores instead, example:
    about_p3_img
    Several other web developers have told me that they entirely abandoned DW CS* series and moved on to other IDE's rather than try to fix the problem.
    Dreamweaver is certainly not a "perfect" PHP development IDE, but other IDEs (I use Komodo or Aptana at times and like them a lot...) aren´t perfect either. This may seem strange, but IMO Dreamweaver did do the - sort of - right thing by not letting the user get away with using such problematic characters, and that´s what those other IDEs I work with regretfully don´t pay attention to.

  • Why am I getting a syntax error on the /head line in DW CC?

    I am getting a syntax error in DW CC.  Other threads have indicated this was a bug in CS6 but had been fixed in CC.  That leads me to believe it's my fault, but I can't figure it out.  Can anyone help based on the information I've pasted below?  Thanks!

    Well Jon, the code is very simple... it's generated by DW's form check... and, as i said, it happens with unfailing regularity the minute it's put in to a template generated child.
    This is what the code on the page looks like:
    <head>
    <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->
    <title>Title Here</title>
    <meta name="Keywords" content="some keywords here" />
    <meta name="Description" content="Description here" />
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function MM_validateForm() { //v4.0
      if (document.getElementById){
        var i,p,q,nm,test,num,min,max,errors='',args=MM_validateForm.arguments;
        for (i=0; i<(args.length-2); i+=3) { test=args[i+2]; val=document.getElementById(args[i]);
          if (val) { nm=val.name; if ((val=val.value)!="") {
            if (test.indexOf('isEmail')!=-1) { p=val.indexOf('@');
              if (p<1 || p==(val.length-1)) errors+='- '+nm+' must contain an e-mail address.\n';
            } else if (test!='R') { num = parseFloat(val);
              if (isNaN(val)) errors+='- '+nm+' must contain a number.\n';
              if (test.indexOf('inRange') != -1) { p=test.indexOf(':');
                min=test.substring(8,p); max=test.substring(p+1);
                if (num<min || max<num) errors+='- '+nm+' must contain a number between '+min+' and '+max+'.\n';
          } } } else if (test.charAt(0) == 'R') errors += '- '+nm+' is required.\n'; }
        } if (errors) alert('The following error(s) occurred:\n'+errors);
        document.MM_returnValue = (errors == '');
    </script>
    <!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
    </head>
    And, whammo: "There is a syntax error on line xx. Code hinting may not work until you fix this error."
    And, the error always highlights the closing </script> line.
    The script itself is fine:
    1. If one puts it into an external js file, there's no problem
    2. If one puts it in the body section, there's no problem
    3. If one puts it in the template, there's no problem
    Also, if one removes the closing </script> tag, the error goes away
    The problem only happens in a child generated by a template and in the location I've illustrated. Apparently, this is a problem a lot of users are facing...

    Hi guys, i hope your are all well and happy.
    i have syntax error on new pages created from template  (no errors in template) I use Dreamweave CS5

    I have highlited line with red (the dreamweaver telling me that syntax error is on this line)
    Could anybody please help mw with this one
    Thank you

    I copy and pasted your code and got the error. I rewrote the code and it went away. I have had problems in DW with templates that gave me errors when everything was good but the only way to fix it was to redo the template from scratch. Sounds stange, but true. The only other thing, and the experts here might chime in is to put the scripts in comment tags like below.
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />

    function MM_findObj(n, d) { //v4.01

        d=parent.frames[n.substring(p+1)].document; n=n.substring(0,p);}

      for(i=0;!x&&d.layers&&i<d.layers.length;i++) x=MM_findObj(n,d.layers[i].document);

  • ABAP Syntax error in this code - Could anyone help?

    Hi,
    I have this code which runs fine in our non-unicode SAP system.
    REPORT  ECC5_OFFSETS.
    DATA: W_KONV TYPE KONV.
    DATA: TKOMK LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF KOMK
                     WITH KEY KEY_UC
                     INITIAL SIZE 2
                     WITH HEADER LINE.
    DATA: TKOMK2 type STANDARD TABLE OF KOMK
                     WITH KEY KEY_UC
                     INITIAL SIZE 2.
    * Get some test data
    SELECT SINGLE * INTO W_KONV FROM  KONV
           WHERE  KNUMV  = '0000000061'.
    MOVE-CORRESPONDING W_KONV TO TKOMK.
    APPEND TKOMK.
    tkomk2[] = TKOMK[].
    * Original non-Unicode compliant code
    DATA: LENGTH_KEY_TKOMK(3) TYPE P.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <TKOMK_KEY> like TKOMK2.
    DESCRIBE DISTANCE BETWEEN TKOMK-MANDT AND TKOMK-SUPOS
              INTO LENGTH_KEY_TKOMK
    * ( Original Unicode syntax fix! )
              IN BYTE MODE.
    * Copy all the fields between these two into TKOMK_KEY field-symbol.
    * ( In Unicode this assignment fails, causing short dump at read )
    ASSIGN TKOMK2(LENGTH_KEY_TKOMK) TO <TKOMK_KEY>.
    * Read the current record.
    READ TABLE TKOMK2 WITH KEY <TKOMK_KEY>.
    But I get the following error message in our UNICODE complaint SAP system:
    <b>"<TKOMK_KEY>" cannot be a table, a reference, a string, or contain any of these objects.</b>
    Does anyone know how I could get around this/suggest a solution?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    Sorry if I'm being unclear.
    My requirements are twofold:
    1)the line of code:
    ASSIGN TKOMK2(LENGTH_KEY_TKOMK) TO <TKOMK_KEY>
    does not assign anything to the fields symbol <TKOMK_KEY>
    2)The read statement does not like the fields symbol <TKOMK_KEY> being used as a key.
    Both these bits of code worked in our 4.6b system but now in the ECC5 environemtn I get syntax errors.
    Let me know if you need anything else!

  • Use Of "#EC CI_EXECSQL in ABAP with EXEC SQL. Statement giving Syntax Error

    Dear Gurus,
    I have encountered an issue while trying to remove warning for using Native SQL statement using pseudo comment "#EC CI_EXECSQL
    The thing is like this -- i have used follwing native sql command in abap.
    EXEC SQL.
        CONNECT TO 'SURROUND_DB'
      ENDEXEC.
    Now when i am checking this code in code inspector it is showing a warning with information below
    CA CL_CI_TEST_CRITICAL_STATEMENTS0006
    Code Inspector
    Critical Statements
    Use of Native SQL
    Authorization checks cannot be appropriately run using EXEC SQL and should be carried out at program level.
    The message can be hidden using the pseudo-comment "#EC CI_EXECSQL
    Use of exceptin handling section for that warning showing me to use :
    The message can be hidden using pseudo
    comment      "#EC CI_EXECSQL
    Now when I am using "#EC CI_EXECSQL in the abap like below :
    EXEC SQL. "#EC CI_EXECSQL
        CONNECT TO 'SURROUND_DB'
      ENDEXEC.
    It is giving syntax error
    The text literal ""#EC CI_EXECSQL        " is longer than 255
    characters.Check whether it ends correctly.
    Please provide the guideline to resolve this issue.
    Thanks & regards
    Saifur Rahaman.

    Hi Saifur,
    You can remove the warning using the following syntax:
    EXEC "#EC CI_EXECSQL
      SQL.
        CONNECT TO 'SURROUND_DB'
      ENDEXEC.
    At least, it worked fine for me when using OPEN CURSOR, SELECT, FETCH and so on statements.
    The way to use the pseudo comment is not very intuitive, but at least for my examples worked fine.
    I hope this may help you.
    Best regards,
    Edgardo G. König

    Transmitting the message to endpoint http://sdcxp1-ci.na.fmo.com:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Received HTTP response code 500 : Error during parsing of SOAP header.

    We work with Microsoft Outlook, but I'm sure this could work with any email system.
    This error only came from external emails - what we did in the end is to get the third party to email a particular email (email1) in our company.  This is set up as a regular email account.  On this email put a forward rule to email2 for a particular sender/subject.  email2 is set up as POP3 so that XD1 can poll it - we also block any emails except from email1.
    Doing this accomplishes a couple of things:
    1)  We get around the error because XI polls email2 (which has adapter settings of IMAP4 so we can see MAIL adapter attributes ie. sender, subject etc...When we originally had as POP3 we were not able to see these - but setting as IMAP4 causes the error for external emailers)
    2) We have a SPAM filter - the XI email is clean from SPAM and the adapter will not have errors, as it only receives valid emails to process
    3) We have a central email (email1) which is used to archive all XI emails - we use this for all email scenarios (as we also save to folder and forward in the rule)
    Hope this helps your situation.
