Coherence and WebLogic Operations Control

Has anybody tried using WebLogic Operations Control to control a Coherence cluster? I have seen demo screen shots of it working but I am having trouble setting this up myself. All the documentation is more around controlling a set of WebLogic servers so not much help really.
I can configure the controller to start a cache server on an agent but the controller cannot see that the cache has started so after about 5 minutes kills it and does a re-start.
What I would really like is a step-by-step guide or a copy of the controller and agent configuration files from someone who has had this working.
Cheers,
JK.

Hi Jonathan,
We have a document we use for internal purposes that explains setting up a coherence service in WebLogic Operations Control (WLOC). This document is currently being edited for external use. The reason it is being edited is that it currently contains directories that match up with a preconfigured setup. If you give me your e-mail address I could send it to you in its current form. You will need to change the directories mentioned in it to match what you have in your environment. I can also send you the final metadata-config.xml that has the coherence service definition in it.
The edited version of the doc will shortly be available on the WLOC OTN site (http://www.oracle.com/appserver/weblogic/operations-control.html).
Thanks for your interest.

  • How to create and use Webservice controls using WSDL in weblogic portal10.3

    Hi All,
I have WSDL , How to create webservice controls using the WSDL in weblogic portal 10.3 and use those controls to invoke those webservice methods?
please give me the documents links for this.
    Thanks
    Venkata Sarvabatla

As far as I remember, Controls can be called only from Pageflows, BackingFiles, Another Control (Like control calling another control) etc. In pageflow we use annotation @Control and give control classname and a varialbe for that. I am pretty sure this annotation may not work from normal java class and in your case a JAVA JSR Class.
If you installed the samples, refer the samples from WLS: C:\beawlp103\wlserver_10.3\samples\server\examples\src\examples\webservices. They have lot of fully ready to work samples with instructions. I used clientgen ant task. But you can use standard SUN JDK Command "wsimport" also to generate the java files from the WSDL. Open any command prompt. If java is in classpath, just run wsimport and that should give an idea.

  • Transaction and Weblogic MDB

    Hi,
I am using Coherence as a cache for my weblogic application. I use a Message Driven Bean that receive a message, write something in Coherence and then write an other message in a result queue.
I want all this operations to be fully transactional. To do this I try to use the Coherence Container Integration with JCA (see http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH33UG/Transactions%2C+Locks+and+Concurrency).
My first problem here is to install the rar file in weblogic. I try in weblogic version 10 and 8.1 (my coherence version is 3.2) and I got the following errors :

    Hi William,
Are you sure this is correct? During the prepare phase I would have expected the
changes to have been made persistent (durable within the grid) but not immediately
visible on at least another node within the cluster assuming Coherence is using the
grid itself as a transaction log service. What I wrote is how the TransactionMap API documentation describes it.
I believe, the idea behind it is that the commit phase writes data to the underlying cache with putAll and removeAll operations which are supposed to be fail-safe and are not waiting for any other threads if the client owns the locks for the entries, even in case of cluster node failures.
With the transaction consistency and isolation verified in prepare() and all relevant locks owned, there is no transactional reason why the commit could fail. The only possible causes of failure are disastrous conditions or errors in write-through cache store operations preventing success of the putAll/remove operations (or coding errors in serialization/deserialization/indexed-methods).
If not then how would Coherence ensure the commit would be successfully executed
after a voting to commit during the prepare phase even in the event of a failure
occurring before commit. The TransactionMap 2PC is not supposed to be interleaved with other 2PC operations. It is supposed to work only above the Coherence caches (actually you can add one 1PC operation between the TransactionMap prepare()-s and TransactionMap commit()-s, if you implement CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection manually).
Full XA is not supported over the caches by Coherence.
The XA-related stuff I mentioned is when you use the Coherence CacheAdapter to enlist Coherence caches under a JTA transaction. However in this case the caches together act as a 1PC resource (JCA LocalTransaction mode) from the JTA TransactionManager-s point of view and you do not see anything from it being internally 2PC.
In this case, the JTA transaction 2PC operation proceeds as follows:
    1. All real XA resources enlisted to the JTA transaction are prepared. After this point all JDBC changes over an XA-driver JDBC connection are flushed to the database, so all locks to be acquired are acquired.
    2. If all were prepared successfully, then the transactional caches enlisted under the JCA Adapter are committed together with code equivalent to CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection(). The transactional caches are practically TransactionMap-s wrapped in two or three layer of wrapper objects.
    3. If the CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection() succeeded, then all the XA resources enlisted to the JTA transaction are committed. All JDBC locks are released only at this point.
Why I mentioned XA and locks and TRANSACTION_EXTERNAL in this thread at all is that if you modified equivalent entries in Coherence to what you modified in XA JDBC, then you don't in fact need to lock those entries in Coherence, because equivalent locks with a broader lifetime are existing in the database. TRANSACTION_EXTERNAL allows you to do just that.
Hope this clears this up, but feel free to ask if it does not.
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • The problem about Secure Reliable Messaging between WCF and Weblogic

I'm doing a project for testing the interoperability between WCF and Weblogic with secure reliable messaging.
When WCF client talk to Weblogic service with Secure Reliable feature enabled. We got error when CreateSequence, the error message is below:
The incoming message was signed with a token which was different from what used to encrypt the body. This was not expected.
The remote endpoint requested an address for acknowledgements that is not the same as the address for application messages. The channel could not be opened because this is not supported. Ensure the endpoint address used to create the channel is identical to the one the remote endpoint was set up with.
My understanding is that the client accepted the RSTR from weblogic (so both sides now share the secure conversation token) and moved on to CreateSequence (and failed due to config mismatches). But I don't how the error happen and how to get it fixed.
-- below is the wsdl you are using --
    Any ideas about it?

    Hi Michael,

Thank you Bruce. I will look at these docs.

    Hello,
We have developed an application that is running on the WebLogic AppServer v8.1
    sp1.
Recently we have received a request/query on providing reliable SOAPmessaging
from our application to 3rd party.
I have read the documentation on Reliable messaging support and havenoted that
it is only supported between two WebLogic Application servers.
My questions are, since we do not have control of the 3rd party's application,
and it may not be based on a WebLogic App Server:
    1. Will this work?
    2. Does anyone have any idea of the type of issues that may be experienced?
    3. How close is the implementation to the WS Reliable Messaging specification?
So, if the other party was based on an IBM or Microsoft implementationis this
    likely to work?
It goes without saying that any work done would need to be very throughlytested
    and qualified.
I have looked through the WebLogic Documentation on WebServices aswell as searching
this newgroup for other posts on this topic, hopefully I have not missedanything
    (If so, my apologies.)

  • Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 (SP6) errors

One of our functioning VBA projects in Outlook 2010, running under Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), unexpectedly stopped functioning a few months ago. When running the VBA macro we started receiving the compile error message:
"Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found"
PROBLEM FORM CONTROL:  The message was extremely frustrating because it gave no detailed indication of the source of the problem.  With a little research, however, we found that the
Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 (SP6), on a userform accessed by the macro, was generating the error.  A number of older articles, such as the one included below, indicated that we needed
to re-register the MSCOMCT2.OCX form control, which we did successfully (as did the original author in his question link below).  Unfortunately, as the original author found, simply re-registering the form control did not resolve the problem.
    UNRESOLVED QUESTIONS:
    1. Does anyone know why this functioning control would unexpectedly cease to function?
    2. Can anyone help us restore the functionality of the 'Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 (SP6)'?
    3. How come the form control is listed in the object library, is available in the 'Additional Controls' dialog, and can be inserted into a form, without any indication that it is broken?
SUPPORT ENGINEER RUN-AROUND:  Another frustration is that a responding support engineer, in the prior article, keeps referring the author back to this forum, yet the question is apparently never answered back here in
the TechNet forum (which ironically refers us back to the original article in the other forum - a game of musical chairs!).
We suspect that the solution to this problem may be similar to resolving this issue for other similar form controls in other Office 2010 application, not just Outlook.  After several years, and a myriad questions on the internet regarding
this exact subject, is there someone who can definitively resolve this issue with this control?
    Thank you for any help.

    Hi,
Would you like to tell me your Excel version number (Go to Account>About Excel). I tested in my version :15.0.4569.1504 and the Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 still could be used.
Then,>> My PC is 64 bit.  I believe my version of Office is also 64 bit.<<  Office 2013 32 bit also could be installed in 64bit operation system. We could check it with Account>About Excel.
Next, as you said >>After I exited 'Design Mode,' it started working again.  I tested it, along with my 'Clear Form' button multiple times.  It seemed to be working fine.  I closed the document and reopened it.  Enabled Macros.
When I tried to use it after reopen, it doesn't work again.<<
I recommend we recreate a new blank Excel file and insert the Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 to test.
If it still does not work well, please try to reinstall and re-registry it. Follow the link:

If it works well, I suppose this issue is related to macros. I recommend you post the question to MSDN forum to debug them:

  • Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 - Need help!

I am working on a form in Office 365 Excel 2013 that uses the Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0.  When I set the form up last week, this Active X control was working perfectly.  The weekend goes by...and now it's not working at all?
My PC is 64 bit.  I believe my version of Office is also 64 bit.  When I researched this issue online, I found lots of people who indicated that this control was missing in their development kit.  It was and has always been available in mine
(i.e. I didn't have to load an MSCOMCT2 file).  Further, this control WAS WORKING when I created it last week.  Now it is not, even though no changes have been made to it.  I can place the control on the sheet and even set properties for it.
But once I click out of Design Mode, it is not functioning.  It doesn't open or respond to any clicks on it.
Can anyone help me identify a reason why it may have suddenly stopped working?  I don't think it is macro-related because I have a 'Clear Form' button on the same page and it works just fine.
UPDATE:  I've noticed something else peculiar but relevant.  My office 365 just did some updates.  When updates were completed, it auto-reopened my file.  I noticed that the Date/Time Picker button looked funny (really pixelated).
So I hit 'Design Mode' and resized it.  After I exited 'Design Mode,' it started working again.  I tested it, along with my 'Clear Form' button multiple times.  It seemed to be working fine.  I closed the document and reopened it.
Enabled Macros.  When I tried to use it after reopen, it doesn't work again.  Won't respond to ANY attempts to click on it. I can click on 'Design Mode' and it sees the control, edits properties, etc.  But when you click out of 'Design Mode,'
it's a dead button again.  I also went to someone else's desk to test this form.  Same problem.  Date/Time picker button doesn't work, even after enabling macros.  The Clear Form Button has no problems though.
    Thanks!

  • Coherence and database backend updates

    Hi
I am new to coherence, I liked the features of Coherence replicated cache, cache through etc..
My Question is if I am using Coherence with cache through and partitioned caching and I have a back end update on data through a oracle database stored procedure how the coherence cache get the latest data changed by the stored procedure. Is there any event driven mechanism to invalidate the cache to reload the data or it is not a good practice in these scenario.
    Rgds
    Anil

    Hi Anil,
it really depends on what you need to achieve.
There is a very good wiki which describes most of the things you can do with Coherence at the url: http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH33UG/Coherence+3.3+Home
However, since you have your existing database model which you want to retain because you want the data still reside in the database, depending on the consistency requirements you might not be totally free in representing data in Coherence.
The best feature of Coherence to significantly reduce the load on the database is the write-behind cache.
Write-behind functionality allows you to coalesce multiple updates to the same DB row into a single update as data is written out only after a certain amount of time thereby combining the changes from multiple updates to a single one.
It also allows ripe updates to multiple cached entries for which the primary copies reside in the same cache node to be written out in the same database operation (preferably in batch mode).
Due to these behaviors write-behind has a profound effect on write-heavy applications.
However that way of operation requires that for any logic that needs to query consistently from the data-set and all operations changing the data-set go to the cache, because the database is not guaranteed to be consistent. Therefore it might not be good for you.
Another approach is that if you want to do your DB changes directly in the DB, you can simply cache data in whatever structures that suit your access patterns in a read-through cache, and if there are any changes to the database you invalidate entries which are stale.
The cache structures can be whatever which you choose appropriate to your logic, you can cache single entries, you can cache entire top-down object hierarchies, you can cache query results keyed by the query parameters.
The point is that you are free to choose the most appropriate structure of what to cache as opposed to the caching features of other frameworks which choose the caching structures to be aligned to their classes and not your needs.
Just keep in mind that without doing serious locking (which adversely affects both read and write performance), between reading any two or more entries from the cache a change might have occurred to one or more of those entries. This means that when using multiple entries from the cache, there might not be any transaction-set in the database which contains all entries in the state which you were getting them.
So if you need any such guarantees, then the data you need such guarantees on must reside in a single cache entry and that cache entry must have been retrieved from the database with a transaction which provides those guarantees at all (if you read data from the database with READ_COMMITTED isolation and with multiple queries, then you don't get that consistency even from the database, as some of the entries read by the previous operations in the transaction might have been overwritten when another transaction committed before subsequent read operations in your transaction).
There can be other approaches as well.
It really all depends on your access patterns and without knowing more about that it is hard to suggest the correct solution.
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • Slow read and write operations on DAQmx

I am trying to build up a feedback control system using PCI-6052E and PCI-6722 cards, so that the computation of the control algorithm is performed on computer's CPU. I am trying to reach sampling period of 1kHz. It turns out that the bottleneck of my system are the read and write operations from and to cards that consume lot of processor time.
An example code (C#) that shows how the reads and writes are implemented is as attachment. On my tests the example code produces a read-time of 1000 samples on 6 channels 7.58s and a write-time of 4.69s. Is there any way to improve the performance?
The program is running on Windows XP on 1000Mhz processor.

    Petteri,
I don't have the hardware to reproduce this, but I have a few ideas. For analog output, are you creating a task, starting it, and calling write repeatedly, or are you simply calling write? While an AO Task will auto start on write, it will also go through the process of stopping when the write is complete. Which means next time you call write, the task will need to start again. It will be much more effecient if you explicitly call start on the task once, perform as many writes as required, and stop/clear the task when you are done. This same principle applies to you analog input reads as well.
    I hope this helps,
    Dan

  • Can i have both Linux, Windows, and Leopard operating systems on my mac

Can i use Bootcamp to have a Leopard OS, a Linux OS, and a Windows OS partitioned on my single Macbook?

For Linux I much prefer having it under VMware Fusion because MacOS doesn't support ext3 and Linux doesn't support writing HFS, making it hard to share data between the two otherwise. The latest version of VMware Tools supports cut and paste between Linux and MacOS (last version of Parallels I used did not have ability to do cut and paste between Linux and MacOS and ran much slower with Linux) and Linux runs at pretty much full speed other than graphics (but I'm not running Linux for graphics, I'm running Linux for software development). Note that setting up your home directory (or a subdirectory thereof) as an NFS share, then mounting that within your Linux virtual machine, results in faster throughput than trying to do everything on the VMware virtual disk, all that lives on my VMware virtual disk is the actual operating system (I have my home directory mounted to a directory on my Mac where my source code lives). I usually use Aquamacs and p4v on the Mac side to actually edit and do source control on my source code, then pop down to the Linux window to compile it and do an initial smoke test to ensure that my fix actually fixed what I think it's supposed to fix, then pop back up to the Mac Finder to drag the result over to the open Finder window for the Engineering Test CIFS share on our corporate file server from whence the actual QA test systems in the lab can grab it and test it. It's a cool way to do Linux software development . Especially since I must develop for both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms for multiple distributions of Linux, and VMware lets me fire up a couple of them at a time (why I have 8GB of RAM? Now you know!) to do all this in a sort of overlapping manner.
For Windows... meh. I've used both the latest Parallels and the latest VMware with Windows 7, and both of them are sluggish even after you turn off all the various GUI effects under Performance and Accessibility and if you don't give at least 2GB of memory to the virtualized Windows 7 it gets really slow if you try to do anything sizable at all (such as run Microsoft Office to edit things that for some reason don't edit correctly in OpenOffice/NeoOffice). So Boot Camp it is, especially for playing games, which simply is not acceptable at all under virtualized Windows 7. Oddly enough, Windows XP runs acceptably fast under both Parallels and VMware, so I'm not sure what Windows 7 is doing that makes it work so poorly under virtualization. But that's Microsoft for ya, I guess...

  • JDeveloper and Weblogic Server - DOESN't WORK

    Hi All,
Yesterday, I was working fine with JDeveloper 11.1.1.6 until I tried to do a deployment (like normally I do) and Weblogic wouldn't start. It was giving me an error, something like 'premature end of file' and security stuff. However, my colleagues told me to rename the folder defaultDomain under C:\Users\Alejandro\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.6.38.61.92. So I did. It didn't help.
I restarted the computer, reinstalled JDeveloper in a new middleware nothing. I created a new Windows user and repeated the process. Nothing.
My log when creating the domain is

Really don't know much about your problem but whenever i have weired problem like these..... (it has happened twice in last one year) I just renamed that sytem 11.1.1.6.38.61.92 folder
next time i start Jdev, it creates this folder and everything started working fine.... the main problem here is that.... you have to setup your connections, version control and other weblogic specific items again...... from my experience, that has been worked out well.....

  • PP Internal and External  Operation

    Hi,
I am marked one of my operation( say 40 th operation) in routing as 'Internal and External operation'. This operation is done both internally as well as externally. How I instruct system 60 Pc is processed externally and 40 Pc is processed internally incase of 100 PC of order qty.? More over how to confirm both of them???
Edited by: Velmurugan S on Apr 29, 2008 7:44 AM

    Hi,
I am not sure but it seems both the types are possible in this case. If you apply a control key with this setting, you may be able to either process it internally or create a PR against it.
Note that its OR and not AND. So you may be able to process in one of the way and not both.
For better understanding please check it in testing and tell us the results.

  • LabVIEW and Set Operations

    Hello all,
I am a student at the University of Texas @ Austin and I have been
looking through the LV 5.0 documentation for any documentation about
Sets and/or Operations on Sets but cannot find anything usefull. Does
anyone know if LV supports Sets and operations on Sets, for example,
Union, Intersection, or just a way to specify the elements of a Set? I
have an assignment to create a Non-Deterministic Finite State Machine
Simulator and would like to implement it using LV? I have some ideas on
how to Fake the set operations but it would be much easier to not have
to re-invent the wheel. I will check the newsgroup, but please also
    respond to [email protected]
    Thanx in advance Jeffo ....

There are probably a number of ways to implement this in LabVIEW, depending
upon what kind of data you want in your sets, what kind of operations you
want to perform on them, etc. It's a pretty open-ended question without
more detailed knowledge of what you're after.
From my point of view, the LabVIEW array structure and its operators are a
construct that provides some set-like functionality right away:
specify set elements => array control on panel
check for membership => Search 1D Array
set union => Build Array (followed by Sort 1D Array if you want to keep the
    set sorted)
    set intersection
=> loop through one array using Search 1D Array on the
    other to generate output set
This is one simple approach that shouldn't require a whole lot of coding or
    wheel reinvention...

  • Oracle Coherence and OSB caching

    Hi Guys,
I have a few queries regarding Oracle Coherence.
    1. Is OSB business Service Caching internally uses Oracle Coherence.
    2. If answer to above question is YES, then can I install Weblogic without Oracle Coherence.
    3. Again if answer to above question is YES, will OSB caching work without Oracle Coherence and if yes, then How?
    4. Can we create clustered weblogic domain without oracle coherence.
    Regards

    Thanks Durga/Abhinav,
    The links clarify a lot.
Now what i need to know more is that when i installed Weblogic server (default configuration) and created a OSB server as managed server in wls domain. I could use the OSB caching in business services without any issue. However, there is no coherence server under "Coherence Server" in weblogic console. How the caching is working in OSB when i havn't configured any coherence server on weblogic?
