ColdFusion8

Hi All,
I have a question. I downloaded the developer addition and
installed it. There is a folder called Temp_folder and it has 8 zip
files in it. My question is do I have to unzip these files to
complete the installation? Any help would be appreciated.
Best, Joy

Havent seen after installation zip files in temp directory.
Still just unzip them as they may contain the folder architecture
that is to be maintained inside the temp folder. Also let me know
what all folder are created after unzipping the files

    Thank you for any guidance you can share with me. I am new at using this product.

    The license.properties error is standard for CF. This file
    will be found in coldfusion8/lib as the server starts up. But
    clearly you have other issues. Why the deployer service is not
    running is the real issue. Check your logs under coldfusion8\logs
    and coldfusion8\runtime\logs. If this is a new install, you may
    want to just uninstall and reinstall.

  • Flex builder 3 - cannot configure coldfusion8

    I am using the trial version of Flex Builder 3 to create a
    new project (File/New/Project/FlexBuilder/Flex Project).
    In the New Flex Project window, I enter the project name,
    select "web application" as the application type, and select
    "ColdFusion" as the server technology. The "Use remote object
    access service" is checked, and "LiveCycle Data Services" is
    selected.
    In the next screen - in the server location, I enter
    "Standalone" as the installation type, the webroot is
    "c:\inetpub\wwwroot," and the root url is "
    http://127.0.0.1" (I'm using IIS, so
    I'm not using port 8500). This is the screen where I see error at
    the top - "LiveCycle Data Services is not installed at the
    specified location." But I made sure LiveCycle Data Services was
    installed when I installed ColdFusion8, and "Enable Remote Adobe
    LiveCycle Data Management access" is checked in the ColdFusion
    Administator panel.
    What is missing? Any help would be appreciated.

    I figured out the RDS issue - check the web.xml file in the
    WEB-INF folder of cfroot and webroot. I uncommented the
    <servlet-name> and the <servlet-mapping> tags which
    referenced RDS Servlet, restarted the server, and that took care of
    the RDS issue.

  • ColdFusion8 works with SQL Server 2008 compatibility level 90?

    We're currently is using ColdFusion8 and need to upgrade the database from SQL Server 2000 to 2008. Will ColdFusion8 work with SQL Server 2008 compatibility level 90?

    Hi,
    ColdFusion 8 is not supported with SQL Server 2008. A list of supported environment is available at http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/pdfs/cf8_systemsupportmatrix.pdf

  • ColdFusion8 & Java

    Hi All,
    My ColdFusion 8.0.1 Enterprise Server's jrun.exe is suffering memory leaks. I believe this may have to do with the Java interaction. However, the java on the machine is Java6U12. I noticed though, that in the ColdFusion8\runtime\jre\bin, it has its own java executables. These are Java6U4. I was wondering two things: Does ColdFusion8 not use the machine's Java version, instead using the java in its own directories, and if so, can I update this Java to the newest version in an attempt to correct the memory leaks? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    You can tell CF to use a different JVM if you like.  Change the java.home value in jvm.config in the jrun4/bin dir (on a multi-server install.  Not sure where it is on a standard install).

  • ColdFusion8 and DreamWeaverCS4

    I have installed the Developer Edition of ColdFusion8 (CF)
    and a licensed copy of DreamWeaverCS4 (DW).
    • I am connected to my test database and can see tables
    in my FilesTab.
    • I have created my index.cfm page and it is open.
    • From DW I have clicked File > New Document >
    and a New Document dialog box displays.
    • In this box I select “Page from Sample”
    option in the left hand column.
    • I the middle column I see folders 1) CSS Style Sheet,
    and 2) Frameset.
    • I need folders 3) Starter Page (Theme) and 4) Starter
    Page (Basic).
    Since DW and CF are interfaced I am not sure if this is a DW
    or a CF question.
    QUESTION: How do I access and/or download the Starter Page
    folders I need for access from DW?
    Thanks in advance,

    balewis1,
    It looks like those samples are no longer delivered with DW
    CS4. You can
    simply copy this folder:
    Configuration/BuiltIn/StarterPages
    From your CS3 install folder to CS4.
    Hope this helps,
    Randy

  • ColdFusion8 Java Version

    I am still using ColdFusion8 and I am using Java 1.6.0_04 which is installed by default. Is there a better version to use or should I simply use the latest version of 21? I am having issues with Flash Forms at this time. I know you should normally use the latest version. I am wondering if anyone has a solid version they are using or is anyone having any problems with 21?

    I doubt that flash form issue would be related to jdk version. You can check system suppor
    t matrix here http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/coldfusion8/systemreqs/
    Between minor version upgrade of jdk, we haven't typically seen any issues.

  • Managing LCDS FlexSession with ColdFusion8

    I am trying to figure out how to manage the session for a flex client which is connecting to lcds/coldfusion instance.  I have determined the "logic" behind the problem, but can't figure out how to implement using CF8.
    I'd like to be able to track login/logout (browser close) via FlexSessionListener.  Here's the Java class I found to handle the events:
    import flex.messaging.*;
    public class SessionWatcher implements FlexSessionListener {
      protected FlexSession session;
      public SessionWatcher() {
        FlexSession.addSessionCreatedListener(this);
      @Override
      public void sessionCreated(FlexSession session) {
        this.session = session;
        System.out.println("Session " + session.getId() + " has been created");
        session.addSessionDestroyedListener(this);
      @Override
      public void sessionDestroyed(FlexSession session) {
        System.out.println("Session " + session.getId() + " has been destroyed");
    I've compiled this and placed it into the WEB_INF/classes directory, and have successfully called it via CreateObject("java", "SessionWatcher").
    However, this is as far as I've gotten.  I simply don't understand the method in which I can "merge" this with my existing CFC file which is called on client login to implement this.  Here's what I've tried:
    listenerClass1 = CreateObject("java", "SessionWatcher");
    CreateObject('java', 'flex.messaging.FlexContext').getFlexSession().addSessionCreatedListener(listenerClass1);
    CreateObject('java', 'flex.messaging.FlexContext').getFlexSession().addSessionDestroyedListener(listenerClass1 );
    I'm either not finding the "System.out.println" output from the listener functions when they are callled, or they're not getting called at all.
    If somebody has done this before, then please give me some idea on how to accomplish this.  However, if anybody can even point me in the right direction for how you use Java files in CF that would be a help as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Brendan

  • Using new ColdFusion8 Features with Flex

    I've read that ColdFusion 8 has new enhancements for
    developers using ColdFusion Flash Remoting with FLEX that are
    supposed to make our lives a lot easier, like being able to return
    a cfquery directly to FLEX. I'd really like to try out some of
    these new features, but cannot find any documentation or examples
    of how to use them. The Developer Center has lots of examples for
    ColdFusion MX and FLEX2, but where are the FLEX2 and CF8
    integration examples? Does anyone know where I might be able to
    find some?

    With MacBooks it's only the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 model 6,1 and Mid 2010model 7,1 White Unibody that have the buttonless multi-touch glass trackpad that allow the gestures to work in Lion. The Early 2006 model 1,1 through Early 2008 model 4,1s plus the Early and Mid 2009 model 5,2s had the button trackpads.

  • ColdFusion8 Installation

    Hi All,
    I downloaded and installed CF8 and I haven't been able to
    connest my access database. I saw another post whereby the same
    problem occured and someone stated that there was a problem with
    the installer. Has this been correct? I also lost the connection to
    my CFMX 6.0 standalone and have tried to no avail to recover from
    that So right now I'm dead in the water as far as development is
    concerned. Can anyone help?
    Best,
    Joy

    Hi all,
    There was no link to start the administrator in the cf8 file
    so I typed it into the address line of windows IE and it came up. I
    connected a test site with as Access db but I could not connect it
    as Microsoft Access only as Microsoft Access with unicode because
    it said I didn't have ODBC. The last time I installed it I did
    install ODBC and documentation only. I don't understand why this
    occured and what is unicode? How does that actually effect a
    Microsoft Access DB and the files that connect to it? What should I
    do next? Please help. Up the creek without a paddle and heading
    toward the falls. Best, Joy

  • Coldfusion8 internal server error

    I can not loging into coldfusion administrator page.
    I get an internal server error 500
    Need Help,
    GEORGES,

    Hi georgeslys,
    You may be new to ColdFusion, that's why you don't know CF is
    the abbreviation for ColdFusion
    Questions:
    1. When you installed CF, did you specify Built-in web server
    or did you choose IIS as your web server DURING installation?
    2. If you've installed it as the Built-in server, could you
    log into your CF Admin page via the link
    http://127.0.0.1:8500/cfide/administrator/
    3. Did you make sure that the IIS connector is properly
    installed? If not, please click on the Web Server connector tool
    under Start-> Programs -> Macromedia (or Adobe) ->
    ColdFusion -> Web Server Configuration Tool. Any Configured web
    server will be listed. If none is listed, click on Add and proceed.
    Then restart your Web server and CF.
    That should do the trick.

    i think error 404 means the file doesn't exist... assumably
    the myProject.html file in this case... go to your webroot and
    check if that file is where it says it should be.
    not sure if this is any help... i am busy sucking at trying
    to get flex and cf to speak via livecycle and find i can't run any
    of the online examples i find... so, if i am wrong about this you
    know why :)
