Color is weird with DirectX rendering in acrobat 3D

Hi all,
   I am trying to use 3D capture tool to get the model from another program into acrobat pro extended.
Importantly, I would like the color to transfer to acrobat too. The 3D capture tool does transfer the geometry
well but the color looks very different (with DirectX 8 or 9 rendering). The PDF generated is attached (colorcompare.pdf).
  I compared the colors with DirectX and Software rendering (see attachments: directx9.png and software.png).
The software rendering (yet slow) produces much closer color
to what I get from the original program.
  I am wondering if someone can help me on this. I would like to keep DirectX based rendering since it is faster.
If this is a bug, I'd happy to report it.
Thanks,
Mengda

Hello Mengda,
Actually this is not a bug, software and Direct X rendering modes are two distincts modes, therefore the resulting display of a 3D capture is a little bit different.
Colors are correct, only the lighting is different.
Note that you can modify the lighting, see screenshot in attachement, guess The "CAD optmized lights" settings would give you a better result.
BTW, did you try to directly import you sample CAD file within Acroabt 3D ?
Simply drag & drop you sample file, select approriated conversion settings and press ok...
Hote it helps

  • Color to FCP with a 3d rendered movie wacky output

    I have a movie I rendered in Cinema 4d that I was color correcting in Color. I had it imported into FCP, then sent to Color, did my corrections/stylization, rendered and sent back to FCP. Problem is, once it's back in FCP, the movie shows the corrections I made to it, but the movie is divided horizontally in half, with the bottom half divided vertically -with the left and right sides swapped.
    This doesn't happen with regular shot video, only with some renders. I have no clue why they work just fine in FCP, but once they're run through Color, this happens. Am I missing a setting in Color or are they rendered the wrong way for Color?

    I have a movie I rendered in Cinema 4d
    In what??????
    Sounds like a fairly obvious format incompatibility.

    Hi there Doug,
    It sounds like you've enabled the High-Contrast Color option under Edit > Preferences > Accessibility (Win) or Acrobat > Preferences > Accessibility (Mac). Uncheck the 'Replace Document Colors' checkbox, then hit 'OK' to turn this off.

  • Weird glitches after rendering

    Dear people,
    I did recently huge (for me) step from PRE 3.0 to PRE 8.0 (I hadn't know, there were 9 Version). Anyway, I had in my first video some weird artefacts after rendering my video, and I don't know, how to fix them. (With 3.0 I hadn't such problems, even if I used it already ca. 3 years for many similiar projects).
    You can see this glitch between 0:59-1:10 of my video in the upper right corner.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp40ZjZ_lQ8
    I tried it with various configurations, but it had always just various glitches. The youtube video was directly uploaded from PRE, and its quality is much more better than the glitch-full videos I exported as files. Do I do something wrong?
    To my PRE project: it contains a video and many animated text layers. In the PRE preview, before rendering, everything looks good, but the rendering disappoints me :-)
    Actually I wanted submit my video to some art video galleries, but I cannot since it's still a little bit buggy.
    I would highly appreciate any help!
    Thank you, people, in advance,
    Merzmensch

    Well, perhaps this was one of some differences to my previous videos: I usually use my Sony camcorder, but this time I used my digicam Ricoh K8. The video to this camera is fully incompatible with PRE (even if it's an AVI - I worked with another cameras before, but only with Ricoh K8 I discover incompatibility to just every video cut software), so I converted it through VirtualDub (using also MSU Cartonizer for special effects). As far as I cam recall, I converted it with Helix YUV codec, which I often use, because PRE 3.0 hadn't compatibility problems before.
    About settings of the project, which details do you need exactly? I actually used the default settings. Here I did the screenshots of every part of Project settings:
    http://s234.photobucket.com/albums/ee240/kosmopol/PRE%20settings%20Takahashi/
    (Sorry, it's German version, I hope they haven't shuffled the settings) :-)
    I have a feeling, that the problem is not with video footage, but with some PRE settings, since you can see in the glitch both levels: video and text together. Perhaps rendering failure?

  • Lightroom color not consistant with PSCS4/Bridge. Help please.

    Hi All,
    I started with a search, but didn't find an answer that covered what I'm seeing.
    OK, first of all, let me set this.
    I'm running a MacBook Pro 2.2, OSX 10.6, with a 23" Apple Cinema Display (non-glossy screen) attached as my main work monitor for my LR, PSCS and all my other photography and graphics work. Any reference here is referring to the 23' ACD as that is my calibrated color reference point. And for the record, both the ACD and the MBP are fully hardware calibrated on a regular bases.
    What I'm seeing is gorgeous color and pop in LR, but more muted colors in PSCS4 and Bridge. I have noticed that if I open a single image in both PSCS4 and Apple's 'Preview' app, the PSCS4 rendering matches the Bridge preview dead-on. While the 'Preview' app's rendering looks more like the LR previews. So it would seem to me that LR is 'talking' to the systems color rendering, while PSCS4 and Bridge are more, 'on their own', yet talking to each other.
    I work almost completely in Adobe 98 color space. I export out of LR into PCSC4 as Adobe 98 PSD files. I continue to work in Adobe 98, and even re-enter the PSD files back into my Lightroom catalogs with their attached color space. In LR, I get the same 'look'. Nicely saturated color with a little pop, but if I open up the files again in PSCS4 they again, look somewhat 'muted'. But, I have tried this using multiple file types (psd, jpeg, raw) as well as sRGB color space. The results are the same. It seems application specific, NOT file-type specific.
    Now I can understand maybe a slight color difference between PSCS/Bridge and say maybe Corel 'Painter'. But I am not understanding this obvious color difference between supposed related Adobe apps such as LR and PSCS4, again, while working on the same calibrated monitor.
    FYI, my Epson 2400, using Epson's custom profiles, looks fantastic printing out of LR's Print module. (I love the LR Print module!).
    My problem here is, I need to send files out to certain print houses for album printing and such (usually in sRGB color space). I have confidence with what I'm seeing in the Lightroom previews of my files. But the PSCS4 files are just too 'dull' looking. Kind of nervous to let them go out the door.
    Final note, my entire Adobe Creative Suite is set to 'North American Prepress 2'.
    Thanks for any help you can send my way.
    -Sol

    One thing I would try is to run with only one monitor (close the MacBook's lid and unsleep it by hitting a key on an external keyboard or only use the built-in display) and see if the problem persists.
    Lightroom and Photoshop use the exact same color management module with just a few small differences. In general, you should get identical rendering of colors but for a few exceptions. One is that Lightroom always uses perceptual intent rendering and Photoshop always uses relative. Some color calibrators generate v4 profiles with a built in perceptual profile. The colormunki is one of those. With profiles like that you will see very subtle differences between Lightroom and Photoshop. Generally not something as strong as what you describe. Another difference is that Lightroom in the Develop module does NOT apply the color noise reduction when zoomed out, only when zoomed in at 1:1 or higher. The result of this is that sometimes, if you have lots of saturated color fine detail, the Develop module shows you a falsely oversaturated image when zoomed out. A good example of this happens with flowers in a grass field, finely detailed fall color leaves, or neon lights. You can see the effect by switching back and forth between Develop and Library or simply by zooming in at 1:1. Library will appear far less saturated as will the 1:1 display. You can solve this issue by lowering the color noise reduction to zero. Lastly, you wouldn't be the first to be fooled by the relatively dark background in Lightroom. This can make everything appear more saturated than the equivalent display in Photoshop which usually has a lightish grey as background or simply your desktop. This is a small effect but I have found it to be surprisingly large a few times. You can change the color of the background in Lightroom to play with this by control (or right) clicking in the matte area.

  • AVI Files conversion in PE - Colors are weird and video is not smooth.

    Hi,
    I have an issue with AVI files. I have Sony Digital 8 Camcorder and through a different program I downloaded the tapes and made them into AVI files.
    I was trying to make a movie with premiere 7 using these AVI files. The quality was poor. There is no smooth motion of the movies, it was kind of moving frame by frame and also at the end of the movie faces and surrounding colors was weird (as if they are negative etc..)
    I chose the out put video quality to be high and format to be NTSC. I have a 3gig ram, Windows vista laptop.
    Am I missing something in movie making setting. Can someone help
    Thx...

    I have had a similar problem with sony dvd cam.Trying to read old files which were in ima format. accidentally I found the same files stored as MPEG, but Prel El 2 could pick up the files with clarity.
    I have found a freeware site winff.org which converted the problematic MPEG files to DVD files with great success.

  • I'm working with directx and it does working only on some of the Bitmaps. Why it's not working on the others ?

    The question is not so clear i will try to explain here.
    I have a trackBar scroll event:
    private void trackBar1_Scroll(object sender, EventArgs e)
    LoadPictureAt(trackBar1.Value, sender);
    ConvertedBmp = ConvertTo24(trackBar1FileInfo[trackBar1.Value].FullName);
    ConvertedBmp.Save(ConvertedBmpDir + "\\ConvertedBmp.bmp");
    mymem = ToStream(ConvertedBmp, ImageFormat.Bmp);
    backTexture = TextureLoader.FromStream(D3Ddev, mymem);
    scannedCloudsTexture = new Texture(D3Ddev, 512, 512, 1, Usage.Dynamic, Format.A8R8G8B8, Pool.Default);
    timer1.Stop();
    Button1Code();
    timer1.Start();
    b1 = ConvertedBmp;
    b1.Save(ConvertedBmpDir + "\\b1.bmp");
    trackBar2.Enabled = false;
    if (!this.backgroundWorker1.IsBusy)
    label2.Text = "מעבד נתונים";
    this.backgroundWorker1.RunWorkerAsync();
    else
    this.backgroundWorker1.CancelAsync();
    First LoadPictureAt method:
    private bool LoadPictureAt(int nIndex, object c)
    bool bRet = false;
    if (nIndex >= 0 && nIndex < trackBar1FileInfo.Length)
    if (c.Equals(trackBar1))
    pictureBox1.Load(trackBar1FileInfo[nIndex].FullName);
    bRet = true;
    if (bitmaps != null)
    if (nIndex >= 0 && nIndex < bitmaps.Length)
    if (c.Equals(trackBar2))
    pictureBox1.Image = bitmaps[nIndex];
    bRet = true;
    return bRet;
    Then the ConvertTo24 method:
    private Bitmap ConvertTo24(string inputFileName)
    sw = Stopwatch.StartNew();
    Bitmap bmpIn = (Bitmap)Bitmap.FromFile(inputFileName);
    Bitmap converted = new Bitmap(bmpIn.Width, bmpIn.Height, PixelFormat.Format24bppRgb);
    using (Graphics g = Graphics.FromImage(converted))
    // Prevent DPI conversion
    g.PageUnit = GraphicsUnit.Pixel;
    // Draw the image
    g.DrawImageUnscaled(bmpIn, 0, 0);
    //converted.Save(outputFileName, ImageFormat.Bmp);
    sw.Stop();
    return converted;
    Then ToStream method:
    public static Stream ToStream(Image image, ImageFormat formaw)
    var stream = new System.IO.MemoryStream();
    image.Save(stream, formaw);
    stream.Position = 0;
    return stream;
    What it does is taking a Bitmap image and make a doppler radar effect on it and detect color only places that there are pixels(clouds) in it.
    Here is a screenshot:
    You can see the doppler shape and it's moving around and highlight the places with clouds.
    So when i move the trackBar1 to the left each time on another Bitmap image it's showing the doppler effect and the clouds.
    The problem is with the trackBar2 scroll event:
    First when i'm running my program and enteric to this new form that scan the clouds and show the doppler radar effect a backgroundworker1 is working:
    private void backgroundWorker1_DoWork(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e)
    BackgroundWorker bgw = (BackgroundWorker)sender;
    if (bgw.CancellationPending == true)
    return;
    else
    while (true)
    bitmaps = ImagesComparison.get_images_with_clouds(b1);
    for (int i = 0; i < bitmaps.Length; i++)
    bitmaps[i] = ConvertTo1or8Bit.ColorToGrayscale(bitmaps[i]);
    break;
    What it does is getting into bitmaps(Bitmap[])  15 new bitmaps from one given bitmap. The given bitmap is b1.
    b1 i'm using it in trackBar1 scroll event.
    All the new Bitmaps in bitmaps variable array are Format32bppArgb.
    While i checked on my hard disk the images(GIF type) i'm using with trackBar1 are all Bit Depth 8.
    The images i'm using with trackBar1 scroll event are GIF types and Bit Depth 8 on the properties.
    The images i'm using in trackBar2 are Bitmaps and they are Format32bppArgb.
    So first thing i thought to convert all the 15 Bitmaps in bitmaps to 8bit:
    for (int i = 0; i < bitmaps.Length; i++)
    bitmaps[i] = ConvertTo1or8Bit.ColorToGrayscale(bitmaps[i]);
    But it didn't work it's just turning them to black gray scale colors not what i was thinking about.
    In the backgroundworker completed event i'm converting the bitmaps to 24 like i'm doing with the Gifs in trackBar1 scroll event:
    private void backgroundWorker1_RunWorkerCompleted(object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e)
    trackBar2.Enabled = true;
    trackBar2.Maximum = bitmaps.Length -1;
    bitmaps[0].Save(ConvertedBmpDir + "\\bitmapsfirstimage.bmp");
    for (int i = 0; i < bitmaps.Length; i++)
    ConvertedBitmaps.Add(ConvertTo24(bitmaps[i]));
    ConvertedBitmaps[0].Save(ConvertedBmpDir + "\\ConvertedBitmapsFirstImage.bmp");
    label2.Text = "עיבוד הנתונים הסתיים";
    b1.Dispose();
    Then in the trackBar2 scroll event:
    private void trackBar2_Scroll(object sender, EventArgs e)
    LoadPictureAt(trackBar2.Value, sender);
    ConvertedBmp = ConvertedBitmaps[trackBar2.Value - 1];
    ConvertedBmp.Save(ConvertedBmpDir + "\\ConvertedBmp.bmp");
    mymem = ToStream(ConvertedBmp, ImageFormat.Bmp);
    backTexture = TextureLoader.FromStream(D3Ddev, mymem);
    scannedCloudsTexture = new Texture(D3Ddev, 512, 512, 1, Usage.Dynamic, Format.A8R8G8B8, Pool.Default);
    timer1.Stop();
    Button1Code();
    timer1.Start();
    The same i did with the trackBar1 scroll event.
    But the result in trackBar2 i'm getting without using the grayscale convertion is this:
    You can see that the color that make the scan now is more yellow or green/yellow and not the same like it is when i'm using the trackBar1.
    I can't figure out where the problem is:
    1. Maybe since the Bitmaps in the variable array bitmaps are all Format32bppArgb ?
    2. Maybe they are Bitmaps and not Gif types like the images in trackBar1 ?
    If it does working good with the gifs in trackBar1 scroll event then the whole code in the new form ScanningClouds is working fine so i will not add to here the whole ScanningClouds form code since it's long.
    The problem is somewhere with the Bitmaps formas or bits in the variable bitmaps.
    Maybe they are not the same or the right Bit Depth or maybe they are Bitmaps and should be Gifs.
    bitmaps = ImagesComparison.get_images_with_clouds(b1);
    This is the get_images_with_clouds method where i'm getting the new 15 Bitmaps.
    public static Bitmap[] get_images_with_clouds(Bitmap radar_image)
    int e = 0;
    int f = 0;
    int image_clock_area_x = 0;
    int image_clock_area_y = 0;
    int image_clock_area_x1 = 140;
    int image_clock_area_y1 = 21;
    Bitmap[] localImages;
    localImages = new Bitmap[15];
    Bitmap image;
    image = new Bitmap(Properties.Resources.radar_without_clouds);
    BitmapData bmD = null;

    Color clock_color = Color.FromArgb(p2[e + f * bmD2.Width]);

    catch

    MessageBox.Show("Error Exception ==> " + error);
    return localImages;
    I think not sure but i think the problem is that the images on my hard disk i'm using with the trackBar1 scroll event are Gif type and the images i'm using with the trackBar2 scroll event are 15 Bitmaps.

    Hi,
    "But it didn't work it's just turning them to black gray scale colors not what i was thinking about."
    If you want it to be colored, you'll need to create a color-palette for the 8bppIndexed bitmaps. The keyword for this process is "Color-Quantization".
    The whole yellow-green pie you get is from the wrong format. If you convert the 32bpp bitmaps to 24 bpp bitmaps, you loose the alpha channel ("transparency"). You can manually set one color to "transparent" with the mMakeTransparent-method
    of the Bitmap class, or simply use gif-images (they are 8bpp with a transparent "key"-color)

  • How can I read pdf files from LabVIEW with different versions of Acrobat reader?

    How can I read pdf files from LabVIEW with different versions of Acrobat reader?
    I have made a LabVIEW program where I have possibility to read a PDF document.  When I made this LabVIEW program it was Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 that was installed on the PC. Lather when the Acrobat Reader was upgraded to version 6.0, there was an error when VI tries to launch the LabVIEW program. And Later again when we upgraded to Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 I must again do some changes and rebuild the EXE files again
    It isn't so very big job to do the changes in one single LabVIEW program, but we have built a lot of LabVIEW programs so this take time to due changes every time vi update Acrobat Reader. (We have build EXE files.)
    The job is to right click the ActiveX container and Click "Insert ActiveX Object", then I can brows the computer for the new version of acrobat Reader. After this I must rebuild all the "methods" in the Activex call to make the VI executable again.
    Is there a way to build LabVIEW program so I don't have to do this job every time we update Acrobat Reader?
    This LabVIEW program is written in LabVIEW 6.1, but I se the problem is the same in LabVIEW 8.2.

  • How to resolve Invalid Color Space error with IE ?

    We are in the progress of upgrading to Acrobat 9.3.4. We have approximately 1400 fillable PDF templates in our repository, and are getting an error displaying 10 of these forms after upgrading to Acrobat 9.3.4. The error is:
    "There was an error processing a page. Invalid ColorSpace." All the forms were created with Adobe InDesign, then embellished with fillable form fields using Acrobat 7. From reading other posts, this seems to point to a corrupt PDF, but we do not believe this to be the case and we believe this is a bug in Acrobat 9. Here is what we've witnessed to back up this conclusion...
    1.) The problem only occurs when displaying the PDF from within an Internet Explorer browser window (both IE6 & IE8). It does not occur if we simply open the PDF from the file system within Acrobat.
    2.) The problem is random and not consistent. We usually get the error, but sometimes it opens fine.
    3.) When the problem occurs, we're able to view the PDF by right clicking on the PDF and toggling the "Resolution" settings in the Page Display Preferences (either toggle from 96 to custom, or change the custom number). However, this is not an acceptable long-term workaround for our end users.
    4.) We've tried recreating the PDF by opening it up in Acrobat 9 and doing a "save as...". The problem still occurs with the resulting PDF (we have not yet tried altering any other Acrobat options).
    5.) The problem does not occur when opened in the browser with earlier versions of Acrobat (7.x for example).
    Please provide any update you may have on this issue.

    If you create a new application and try to create a new JSF page there are you still getting this error?
    If you do then I think something in your installation went wrong - the first step would then be to delete the system directory at: C:\Documents and Settings\youruser\Application Data\JDeveloper and restart JDeveloper.

    thank you in advance...
    regards..

    You'd probably have to do a modification in SD for that. But what you can do, is make the higher level item not changeable. You could also set the display range to UHAU to only see the main items, do this in transaction VOV8. Or you could change your item category in VOV7 only to show main items.
    good luck

    This usually means the file is corrupt, probably because it was not created

    I am trying to use a 3D image segmentation program called "ITK-SNAP" on Mac Mini (2013). However, when I loaded the image, half of the image is not showing. I have tried the program on OSX 10.8.5 and OSX 10.9.1 (same computer, just upgraded yesteday), and both OS gave me the same problem. I have also tried different versions of "ITK-SNAP", and that did not seem to help either. The specs for the Mac Mini is the following:
    Processor: 2.5 Hz Intel Core i5
    Memory 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024MB
    Software OSX 10.9.1 (13B42)
    I was able to use this program without a problem on an older Macbook Pro laptop (2009, with OSX 10.8.5). The specs for the laptop is the following:
    Porcessor: 2.4 Hz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 3GB 1067MHZ DDR3
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256MB
    Software OSX 10.8.5 (12F45)
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Is it necessary to reinstall some drivers?
    Thanks in advance.
    Edward

    The Nvidia GeForce GPU in the MacBook can handle the 3d. The HD4000 Intel in the Mini can't UNLESS you bump up your system RAM to 8Gb or 16Gb.
    Here's why. The Nvidia is a dedicated chip, and it doesn't rely solely on system RAM to operate. The Intel HD4000 does. The MORE system RAM you have, the MORE video RAM you'll have with the Intel chip. I have 16Gb and my VRAM is 1024Mb. I use Photoshop CS5 and CS6. With 4Gb RAM, I don't have enough VRAM for either to enable 3D drawing. With 512Mb VRAM (8Gb system RAM), CS5 would allow 3D, but only with software rendering, and CS6 wouldn't allow it at all. Once I put 16Gb in the Mini, BOTH allow 3D rendering with hardware.

  • Signing with digital id in Acrobat Reader DC

    We have been using Acrobat Digital Signatures for long time. I have just installed Reader DC and I am trying to find out how it can be done in this new version. In the Edit / Preferences I am able to create digital ID and setup it's appearance but I cannot find how to sign the pdf document with this signature. Is it still possible ? How it should be done ??
    Regards,
    Tony

    Acrobat/Reader 7 has not and will not be updated to work with Windows 7.
    Acrobat/Reader 7 is not longer supported or updated by Adobe.
    You should upgrade to version 9 or X.

  • Issues with Office 2010 and Acrobat Pro 8

    Good Day All;
    We are in the middle of upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 with Office 2010 and I was wondering if there are any issues with importing Office documents into Acrobat Pro 8. I have found out that there are a couple of issue with Office 201 and LifeCycle Designer.
    Any comments would be helpful
    Regards
    Chomp

    Acrobat 8 is not compatible with Microsoft Office 2010 and the PDFMaker plugins will not install. Only Acrobat X is compatible with Office 2010, and at this time only in 32-bit mode.
    Acrobat 8 is also not officially compatible with Windows 7, again Acrobat X is the first version to carry approval for that OS. It will still install, but Adobe cannot guarantee it will operate perfectly in all cases, and doesn't provide install support for that combination.
