Color issue only with finder on a dell U2410 screen

Hello...
I've got a macbookpro 15' with snow leopard. I've just connected a second display screen (DELL U2410) through a mini display to DVI adapter.
On te Dell, when i look a photo in the finder/cover flow, the reds are satured. And when i look the picture on "preview", it looks normal.
I've took a capture of this :

Try creating a new color profile (and then going back, if creating a new one doesn't solve it). Go to System Preferences > Display > Color

Help! Keyboard randomly stops working only with finder?

My macbook pro keyboard and my silver Apple bluetooth keyboard (primary keyboard) randomly stop working in Finder can anyone explain? Heres the details:
I usually use my wireless keyboard, and when this happens the keyboard keeps working with everything else, and only stops working in Finder i.e. I can't edit the names of files or even click through files with the arrow keys. (the Macbook Pro keyboard also stops working-only in Finder-during these times too as I just tested..)
Also, Finder keeps working its not frozen or anything, I can click around in it with the mouse and open files/apps, etc.
This has only happened approximately 3 or 4 times (I've had the keyboard since the new ones were released and the computer for 1.5 yrs)
Lastly, when I restart the OS (10.4.11) the problem disappears for a week or more..

Keyboard layout issue only with Windows 7, not Windows 8

I have a strange behaviour with Remote Desktop on Windows 7. I have a RDS 2012R2 deployment, with TS Gateways, broker and remote desktop collection. I have published a RemoteApp.
My issue is with the keyboard layout send by the client. My server is in English - Swiss French keyboard.
With my Windows 8 client, keyboard in "French", the keyboard used in my RemoteApp is correctly set to "French"
With my Windows 7 client, keyboard in "French", the keyboard used in my RemoteApp is set to "Swiss - French". This is not the correct layout.
Why under Windows 7 the keyboard layout is not send correctly ?

Initially please use latest RDP version 8.1 for windows 7 and check the result.
If you want the session to use the default keyboard layout stored in the user profile instead of the layout provided by the Remote desktop Server client after the user logs on to the Remote desktop Server computer, you can set the IgnoreRemoteKeyboardLayout
registry value to 1. After users first connect to the Remote desktop Server computer, configure the default keyboard layout and input language that you want, and then log off. All later user logons will use the default keyboard layout and input language from
the profile.
To do so, please perform the following steps:
1. On the remote desktop server, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
3. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry information:
Value name: IgnoreRemoteKeyboardLayout
Data type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 1
4. Quit Registry Editor.
After you first connect to the Remote desktop Server computer, configure the default keyboard layout and input language that you want, and then log off. All later user logons will use the default keyboard layout and input language from the profile.

EeePC- SDHC Issues only with Arch

To begin with I have a Eeepc 701 4G and a A-DATA 16GB SDHC Turbo Eee PC Edition card. Whenever I try to install Arch via a usb drive, I get a error on boot that says something along the lines of I/O error with my SDHC card which is listed as /dev/sdc1. Normally I would think this is a defective card or its going bad but Arch is the only distro that gives me this error. The error is just in the text that scrolls by but it also hangs when trying to partition the SDHC drive To test it out I have installed Mandriva 2008.1 Spring, Ubuntu 7.10/8.04/8.10, Ubuntu-eee, fluxflux-eee, and Forsight Mobile (I have been going crazy trying to find a distro I can live with/ even close to what Arch provides). Each one of them I set the / partition on the internal SSD and the /home partition on the SDHC card. Arch is the only one that gives a error with the SDHC card. I have ran extensive tests in Linux and also windows(sisoft sandra) but everything is fine with the card. The card is supported as it is a "Eee PC Edition Model" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6820211300 I have noticed tha some distros have problem with installing via a usb drive and using /home on a SDHC drive(only Fluxflux-eee) but it is normally a /etc/fstab issue not the I/0.
Any ideals?

I had a similar bug on my netbook with the Elantech touchpad. I have reported a bug to the maintainer of the Elantech driver and I get a patch that fix it.
description of my bug:
with two fingers above the touchpad, tap alterrnatively with each finger on the touchpad.
- expected behaviour: the cursor does not move.
- actual behaviour: the cursor jumps sometimes to the left or the right.
this only happens when configuring the touchpad with synaptics (by defaults, mine is detected as a mouse)
is your bug the same than mine ?
are you using both the proto=exps option and synaptics ? (I still have the bug in this configuration)

Several issues only with executable, not in VI

Hello, I'm developing a program to control a network analyzer from GPIB, store data, read that data into some matlab (math script) routines to determine pass/fail and plot a pattern, then save a screen-grab of that pass/fail/pattern. Everything works as I expect it to in the development environment, but when I build it into an executable and run it on the same development machine, weird things start to happen that I don't understand. I know from past that executables run faster than vi's so I have added time delays here and there where it seems to make sense for that particular bit of code, but even that has not helped.
There are 3 main issues:
1.) I populate a listbox from a folder with filenames that match a pattern. This works great. There is an event structure that waits for one of the files to be selected which then sends that file into a subvi that runs through the mathscript routines. Problem is in the executable, after this mathscript subvi executes, all the contents of the listbox disapear and I can't select another file to run through the mathscript code. stopping and starting the main app re-reads this in but it should be read in continuously because its in the main programs for-loop.
2.) The mathscript routines were developed by someone else, they are in several nodes. The first two nodes work perfectly to generate 2 patterns, find beam peak, position, and beamwidth, but the next two, which are identical, don't seem to work in the executable. They should produce sidelobe levels, but don't.
3.) The screen-grab bit doesn't work in the executable either, I found a vi from Alex T. (https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-19720) that automates a print screen event and then reads the clipboard to output image data which I then save as a jpg or png. This I had to add delays in to get the vi to work, but it still doesn't work in the executable.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Even if its just the basics- I'm pretty much self-taught and don't profess to know the best way or even the right way

Epson R1900 Color Issues Only Printing From Lightroom

Hi all - my first post here thought I've been reading this forum since I purchased 1.1 a while back. I'm using 1.4.1 with XP Home, service pack 3. I've had very few issues with this release (which is why I haven't jumped to 2.X yet). To date, I've occasionally printed snapshots with an HP 1115, but most printing has been through labs.
I recently purchased an Epson R1900 and I've been unable to get colors to print remotely correct through Lightroom. It looks to me like the color is getting managed twice, regardless of the settings I use. The R1900 driver allows a preview before actually printing, and the colors it shows are always off by a lot, regardless of whether I let Lightroom manage color or the printer.
Other less sophisticated programs do not have this problem. I can print a JPEG image through Windows Photo Printing Wizard or a pdf through Adobe Reader with much closer correlation to the monitor. Prints from the HP 1115 are comparatively much lower quality, but through Lightroom or other applications, color is within reason. I'm assuming there are others that are successfully using this printer with Lightroom running on Windows XP. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I solved my color problem by updating the printer driver to version 6.60. When I discovered that a newer driver was available I had attempted to update it but it would not install correctly. I contacted Epson for help, but only received links to non-relevant information. I eventually determined that using MSCONFIG to keep all nonessential programs from starting would allow the driver to correctly install. Simply shutting down all user launched programs and my virus software was insufficient.
Prints are definitely on the dark side, but I've been able to compensate as Dan has suggested. Otherwise, I am quite pleased with the prints it produces on Epson Premium Glossy, and am looking forward to experimenting with other papers and ICC profiles. Thanks all for your help and suggestions.

351 Issue only with delivery schedule wise

Is it possible to issue (351) materials based on delivery schedule wise. Like in GR we get the receipts by del schedule wise.
Like i have SA 111111 for qty 999 and del sch is as below,

Say when I issue using MIGO or MB1B for 351 Mvt type we get all the 999 quantities. What my requirement is i shld be able to get as per the del schedule lik four line items for this SA as in GR. If we do the GR for the above SA then it will show four line items. So we need as per GR only.
Is this possible or is there any changes we need to do or is there any userexit we can use to achive this.?

TS2972 iTunes sharing features issues only with my newest desktop

Hi, hope someone will find an idea about my strange issue
I migrated my iTunes Library on my more recent desktop (OS Windows7 64 Ultimate)
I still have an old desktop (Windows XP Pro 32) and a laptop (Windows Home Premium 64)
My 2 desktops are plugged with CPL (and a switch)
My laptop is either wifi or direct lan to my routeur switch
All of them are authorised in iTunes.
My iTunes Libs from old desktop and laptop are always seen between my iOS devices, my laptop, my old desktop
My main iTunes lib migrated to my most recent desktop is either seen and shared by all my devices, pc
OR... on this desktop it becomes impossible to share or to see other shared library (both shared libs and home shared libs)
it happens when iTunes starts. From the beginning, if sharing works, it works all the time.
If sharing doesn't work, I found a way to make it come back temporarily :
- with iTunes still opened, I activate another network card (for instance my wifi receiver which is disabled by default)
- I close iTunes
- I desactivate my main network card (it's a Realtek from my mainboard)
- I cross fingers
- I restart iTunes
in most cases all my shared libs / homesharing come back. I can see shared stuff from other pc, and i can share to all my network. Then, I activate my Realtek network card and I desactivate the wifi one. Sharing still works.... Until another time when i start iTunes and there is no more sharing features.
Last clue : when i use an app like remote linked to my lib, then I close itunes, then restart, and in the case sharing seems to not work after that, sometimes remote is able to work whereas the library is not broadcasted on my network ... in appearance !
Any idea ? any similar cases ?

Figured out my problem sharing my music library on a new iPad Mini (I think). Two issues: (1) I have two Apple IDs, the result of doing one years ago and forgetting about it when I set up another; Apple doesn't seem to be able to ever merge or otherwise fix this problem, despite the best efforts of smart folks at the Genius Bar plus of course I'm forced to have 3rd ID as my iCloud username, but never mind....). I was logged in as one Apple ID and my music library is under the other. Went to "Music" under settings, signed out under "Home Sharing" on that page, signed in again as the other Apple ID. (2) Realized then that it was trying to share music from something called my iPad library instead of the library under my name, which is where my music is. When I fixed these two things, it all shared nicely. Whew!

Weird problem - having issues *only* with 1UP's podca

I subscribe to a lot of podcasts - UP, IGN, TwiT, etc., and they all work fine instead of UP's. However, it doesn't appear to be a problem on their end.
If I download their podcasts via Juice or directly from the web site, they work fine. However, if I download any UP podcast using the Zencast application, the duration of the podcast appears incorrectly while playing it on the Zen. The podcast continues playing past the "end time", however it makes seeking and resuming playback a pain in the butt.
With every other podcast I subscribe to, this does not happen. Any ideas?

It seems to have something to do with the way up handles the podcast information. I've worked out a (slightly) less annoying way of dealing with the issue, although it does require you to have the mp3 handy, so you don't get the convenience of using a podcast organizer.
1) Head to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ and download the Audacity audio editor. (It's absolutely free and really small)
2) Download up podcast
3)Load the podcast mp3 into audacity. (File > Open)
4)Save the podcast as a new mp3 (File > Export as Mp3)
Now just load the file into your Zen, and it should show up as the proper length. Unfortunately, while it isn't the most elegant solution, it's the best I think you'll be able to do, because I believe the problem is on up's end.

Sidebar Alignment Issue Only With IE 8

OK, complete rookie here. I have been working in Dreamweaver CS5 and BrowserLab to set up the website. In Firefox browsers and IE 6, 7 and 9 the webpage looks like the Dreamweaver layout. However in IE 8, the sidebar is shifting over to the right, in the area that should be the main body content. After about 12 hours of looking at this, and trying to find key issues by myself, its time to throw in the towel and ask the experts.

Issue only with DE text

Hi Experts,
SRM version is 5.0 and Support pack is SAPKB70009.
WF triggered, workitem sent to user's Lotus notes. If user is German, he sees Subject text as #EBP_GEN# <main subject text>.
But if the workitem is sent to user other than German, he sees the main Subject text properly.
What could be the reason, is it patch level or something else.

PS2 Issue only with Neo and Neo2 not Neo 4 or later boards?

I just wondered. Is the so called PS2 issue something that is only relevant to the Neo and Neo2 motherboards, or does it plague the MSI Neo4 Platinum/SLI, MSI Neo4 Diamond, MSI Neo4 Platinum as well?

The issue where the use of a PS2 keyboard or mouse, for certain users, causes the system to freeze during post/boot, or sometimes cause random shutdown or startups. I've found several references to it on this forum. Thats why I want to know more before I decide on which motherboard to get.

Lost Ipad (Wi-fi only) with Find My Iphone enabled.

I've set the Ipad to "lost mode" including a passcode and a "call me" message on the homescreen. It is currently listed as "offline." Assuming whoever found it tries to get online (and thus allow me to track it) won't the passcode prevent them from doing so? In other words, how can I track it if they are never able to unlock it and sign into a wi-fi network. Also, will my effort to remotely install a passcode even work if they never attempt to get online? How will my remote efforts even work since it's not 4G?
In the interest of clarity (and at the risk of over-explaining): should I remove the attempt at a remote passcode in hopes that whoever has it will attempt to get online and thus allow me to track it? (Stupidly, I did not have a passcode set to unlock the Ipad before I lost it).

IOS 7 Only Allows Find My iPhone with Primary iCloud Account

While iOS7 may be a big leap forwards in most respects, the "Find my iPhone" feature has taken a big step in reverse. This useful feature is NO LONGER AVAILABLE for use with secondary iCloud accounts, ONLY your PRIMARY account.
This may not be a huge concern for most users, because many (including most first-tier tech reps at Apple I've spoken to) seem to believe that you can only have one iCloud account on a device. NOT TRUE. While you can only have one PRIMARY account, you can add multiple additional iCloud EMAIL accounts (go to Settings/Mail, Contacts & Calendars/Add Account/iCloud). In the last iOS, once you created a new, secondary iCloud email address, you could activate many iCloud features for use with the new account, including Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, Notes, Safari Data (which never actually worked), and Find My iPhone. Under iOS7, however, Find My iPhone is no longer available. Instead, a small paragraph below the new iCloud email account setup screen says "Only your main account can use Bookmarks, Photo Stream, Documents & Data, Backup, and Find My iPhone."
Consider two cases where this is a huge problem.
1) We have a large number of company iOS devices that we need to keep track of.
2) Personally, I have an iPhone and iPad, and so does my wife. So do our kids!
In both the above cases, we created a secondary iCloud account, we'll call it "[email protected]", and added it as a secondary iCloud email address on ALL our iOS devices. In the setup screen we disabled everything EXCEPT "Find My iPhone". This account has a unique password, making it possible to see the location of ANY OR ALL the devices using the Find My iPhone App, WITHOUT having to share email, contacts, calendars, etc. among all these devices.
In our company, I can tract the location of any iOS device I gave to an employee, but his personal PRIMARY iCloud account is used to keep his mail, contacts, calendars, etc. secure. He shares this data between his iPhone and iPad, but NOT with everyone else. In my family, we all have our own primary iCloud accounts. I share mine between my iPhone and iPad; my wife and kids do the same. This allows us to keep our calendars, contacts, emails, etc. separated. But we all used the secondary iCloud email account ONLY with Find My iPhone. This allowed everyone in the family to see the location of everyone else, very nice in an emergency. Unlike the Find My Friends app, the device being located doesn't have to respond to a request to be found (very important when finding a lost or stolen device).
In both the above cases, we just log into the Find My iPhone APP on ANY iOS device, using the secondary iCloud account's email address and password (the email address is actually saved in the app, so you really only need to enter the password after the initial login). Viola! You can now see the location of any device that has that secondary iCloud account installed. And a person can still be untrackable if they wish, simply by turning off the Find My iPhone feature under the shared account's iCloud account settings on their device.
Alas, with iOS7 this is no longer possible. With the Find My iPhone feature only available for use with the device's PRIMARY iCloud account, there are only two ways to track another device:
1) Use the same primary iCloud account (which forces you to share other data and features you may not want to);
2) Log into the Find My iPhone APP with the PRIMARY iCloud email address and password of the person you want to track.
Either way, the person doing the tracking MUST have access to the PRIMARY iCloud credentials of the device they are tracking. This is a large security hole! Ask yourself: if you are a parent, do you really want your kids to have access to your primary iCloud account, including your mail, contacts, calendars, etc? Some people may not want their spouse to access that. In a company setting, do you want all your employees to be FORCED to share Documents & Data, Backup and Bookmarks, just to use the Find My iPhone feature? If they want to keep their mail, contacts, calendars, etc. separated from other employees, they will be forced to move these to a secondary iCloud account, which will no longer allow them to share Bookmarks, Photo Stream, Documents & Data or Backup. Why this ridiculous limitation?
The bottom line:Find My iPhone is now only useful for the primary iCloud account holder, and can no longer be used effectively between larger numbers of iOS devices, such as families or corporate institutions. This should be addressed in the next update to the iOS.

Brad, and everyone else, just to clarify my original post that started this thread, and offer a workaround or two: you CAN still locate, erase etc. any iOS device using Find My iPhone in iOS7, but the device you want to track or erase must EITHER use the same PRIMARY iCloud account as you do, OR you must log into the Find My iPhone app on your phone using THEIR primary iCloud account's username and password.
For parents, that's not a big deal, maybe just an annoyance: give your kids their own individual primary iCloud accounts, but you jot down their username and password in their contact info on your phone. Log Into FMI with that and track them.
The real pain is if you as an adult want others to be able to see where you are, WITHOUT also giving them access to your other iCloud info. For then to see you, THEY must either use the same PRIMARY iCloud account as you do, or they must have your username and password to log into the FMI app...which means they cal also see all your other stuff, even if you turn off the FMI feature on your phone. Anything you share with iCloud will be visible to anyone with access to your iCloud account.
For corporate users who want to track and manage company-owned iOS devices without having all of them use the same primary iCould account, this is a big pain. For families, imagine being on a vacation, or experiencing a disaster, accident, etc, where you'd really want everyone to be able to locate each other, even if they are unable to answer their phone or otherwise respond...a very real possibility in today's world. Now not so easy without compromising privacy and security.
I have three workarounds. The first two use Find My iPhone and so require everyone to use the same PRIMARY iCloud account.
1) the simplest thing is to go to your device under Settings/iCloud and toggle off anything you don't want others to see...but if you have multiple devices of your own (say an iphone and an iPad), this prevents you from sharing with yourself. Bummer.
2) It occurred to me today that with iOS6 there was a way to lock out changes to features in Settings. Sure enough, it still works with iOS7. Enabling this feature allow everyone to share the same PRIMARY iCloud account WITHOUT sharing other things you'd like to keep private. Enabling this feature will prevent the person with the device from making any changes to the Accounts on their device (Mail, Contacts, Calendars), so you'll need to think about what features of these accounts you WANT to allow before following the steps below. ALL THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE PERFORMED ON THE OTHER DEVICES IN YOUR FAMILY/COMPANY, not your own.
A) I suggest entering airplane mode in Settings to prevent the device you are working on from downloading any of your iCloud info during this process.
B) Next, be sure YOUR PRIMARY iCloud account is listed on the person's device that you wish to track (kid's employee, etc). Go to Settings/iCloud to check this, and if necessary sign out of their iCloud account here and sign in with your primary iCloud account.
C) Add a second iCloud account using their personal iCloud email address (the one you just deleted as the primary). Set this one to share whatever they need to (their own Mail, contacts, calendars, etc). If they weren't previously using iCloud for anything but tracking and already had their own email account set up, you can omit this step.
D) Now, decide what features of your Primary iCloud account you do NOT want this person to be able to see or use (mail, contacts, calendars, etc). On THEIR DEVICE go to Settings/iCloud, and toggle OFF any of these things, but be sure to leave anything they need to share. A common issue here will be Photos. Since Photo sharing is now ONLY supported with the primary account, I suggest leaving this on, but you can still prevent them from seeing your new photos if needed. Tap the arrow to the right of Photos, and on the next screen toggle off "My Photo Stream", but leave on "Photo Sharing" which allows them to see, create and subscribe to other shared steams, just not your primary photostream. You can instead make this same Photo setting on your device, which has the same result. Or just disable Photos altogether. Whatever setting suits you the best.
Once you have decided which features of your primary iCloud account you'll allow this person to see, BE SURE YOU HAVE ALSO TURNED ON "Find My iPhone" here.
E) Lastly, go to Settings/General/Restrictions. Tap "Enable Restrictions". Enter a new password (twice- this is NOT the same password for the device, but only for locking and unlocking restrictions, so use a new one only you will know). Scroll down to the "Allow Changes" section and tap "Accounts." Tap to place a check next to "Don't Allow Changes". Exit from Settings.
You're done! Repeat the above steps on every device in your family or company you want to track. You will now be able to track all of them at one time using Find My iPhone on your device, from your primary iCloud account, and they will also be able to see your device location, but they will not be able to see any of your information as long as you toggled it off and then locked out account changes under restrictions. Be aware that they will not be able to add, delete or change any Mail accounts unless you unlock the restrictions. But you will likely have their own separate email account on this device (step C above).
3) if this is too much for you to handle, and tracking is your primary concern, in the App Store there is a free app called "Find my Kids - Footprints" . They just released a new iOS7 version which is unrated, but the previous version was reasonable well rated. After a trial it requires an annual subscription (which removes the ads, and it is VERY cheap), but it irks me to pay for a service that I used to get for free. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to do a bit more that the Find my iPhone app as far as tracking...but it can't lock or erase your device. You'd still need to use their primary iCloud account for that. I'm sure we'll be seeing more apps like this in the near future.

Color issues with video

Thanks for looking in.
I have a little web series I am doing and when it is exported it looks good. (Color) When uploaded to Youtube looks good. When previewing it through my channel looks good. When going to full screen view, the color gets wacky... Oranges are really orange, almost an overbleed, some of the graphics become pixilated.
I am exporting this file as a 720 h264.mov Mixed down from 1080 29.fps shot in 60p All looks good as mentioned, but even some of the P.S Graphics are getting blown out. Which are created in 1080 and then shrunk down to a 320 size. All done in P.S such as Text, Gradient. Other videos I watch on the same computer do not have the issues mine does..Leads me to believe my HD monitor on my Toshiba Laptop is not doing the change, it has to do with my video.
The screen that it is being full-screened on is my laptop 20 or 21" monitor. Toshiba Sattelite HD BTW
Any suggestions on what I should be looking at? Is this overcome with exporting it as a 1080? Or is this where Speed Grade plays a role? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction on this. It's like a color correction issue only when full screened.

320 to fit into a virtual monitor in my fake news studio. A quality 1080 file then shrunk down in PP when installing it on a virtual monitor within a virtual set. Leaving with a size of about 320 down from the original of 1080.
To elaborate on the set. The whole set is getting blow out in Full Screen. Yet looks great at regular view. Looked good on my Dell monitor during editing. Looked good on my Dell monitor when previewing .mov file after export. Previewing in FullScreen. BTW. Only gets blown out via Youtube after upload and then using the FullScreen mode from there.
